Hi Tami...Sorry to be so late in my welcome. I saw your post and then forgot about it. We are in thr RV in Pismo and the internet connection is spotty sometimes.
We are not full time RV'er and have no plans to ever be. Just usually come down to the beach for 6 weeks twice a year.
Like the others I try and bring 2-3 meals that I froze from LO at home. Also bring fish and meat that I happen to have in the freezer at home. Most of these meals my DH grills out. I do make things like tacos and meatsauce inside. I bring along a crockpot, but didn't even use it thus time. We also do some eating out, but that usually is dangerous for me calorie wise.
Glad you decided to join us here. Join in the posts, we are a friendly group!

Hi Tami !
I am fairly new here also, about 5 weeks now but not new to spark. I am still a full time worker so no FT Rving for me yet. Have to wait about 15 years yet. We do camp in the summer and take 1 long 2 week trip a year.

I love going through recipe books, magazines, internet to find new things to try and then I prep as much as I can and freeze or refidgerate if close to time to leave. I usually camp with my brother or mom but have gone out alone on short trips with my dog. We all take a day to cook so if my brother makes a fattening dish I eat less. The last trip we took, I lost 5 lbs and that was an awesome treat to see after we arrived back home since I never have a scale camping. We also grill or use the crock a lot. Afterall, who wants to slave cooking on vacation ?!

Again... welcome ! Tc or theresa

emoticon Tami. We are wintering in TX. thus Winter Texans but traveling a lot during the summer. My DH does a lot of the cooking and most the time wee use our Coleman grill. We don't use a lot of frozen dinners but do use frozen veggies, We try to use as much fresh as we can. We enjoy going shopping in grocery stores or finding road side stands for fresh foods. We have a lot of flexibility here in the Tip of TX when a lot of produce and fruits are grown. The slow cooker is used a fair amount as well. We don't have an electric fry pan.
Welcome to the group and please join in all the chatting we do.

Hi Tami and welcome
we've been full time in our motorhome for 2.5 years
adjusting to cooking was not too difficult
we have a convection oven now - like it a lot except i wish it was easier to clean (no self cleaning option)
we use a slow cooker a lot more often (have adapted several standards to it, for example lasagne, scalloped potatoes, mac & cheese)
and we use an electric fry pan (never used one before full timing)
cheers, pdq

Hi, Tami!

I'm "Tammy"!

DH and I aren't FT, but we like to bring frozen meals from leftovers, the Healthy Choice dinners, and DH likes to grill. Sometimes if we are near a town/city, we will eat out and share our meal.

Hi Tami,
Welcome to the team.
I tend to be a bit lazy about cooking when we are away (and I have very little space to prepare meals, our motorhome is small). I usually take portions of meals I've cooked at home for the first 3 days (so generally 'healthy' options) then we move on to sauces out of jars, pizza, and various other less healthy options! When we are away we do tend to walk or cycle a lot (or ski in winter) which I hope helps!

Welcome Tami. I use my crockpot a great deal. you can make healthy, nutritious meals and not have to be standing over the stove cooking. I look forward to getting to know you as you post with us. We are a very chatty bunch and love to get to know everyone and encourage them on their journey.

emoticon Tami! Are you and your hubby full timing? My husband is the principle cook in our relationship, when RV'ing he usually cooks the main entree out on the grill. We also take frozen, family sized entrees to cook in the microwave, or we like the frozen dinners that come in a bag with meat and all. I cook those in the electric frying pan, which goes with us on every trip! We have just sold our house, so hope to be able to travel more and see parts of the country that are new to us. This is a great group, lots of nice people! emoticon emoticon
