Welcome Gordon. I'm slow getting here, been out of the loop for a few days.
We live in our 5th wheel full time, but haven't actually traveled in about 6 years. Before that we travelled for work. I love the life and look forward to the day that we can travel for pleasure as you are.

Hi, Gordon!

I had never even camped until I met my husband. Right after we married, we tent camped with his grown children and families. I was 36. The first time out, there was a tornado warning during a thunderstorm. It is a wonder I ever went again! LOL

Through the years since, we worked our way up from that tent - pop up, older travel trailer, new travel trailer, and now an older but nice for us Class A. We took a trip through part of the west 3?4? years ago, but take mostly local trips now. We HAVE gone to Pensacola for three years in a row during my spring break - I still work part time at a community college even though retired - and take part in the McGuire's 5K there with my DS and BIL.

We look forward to getting to know you!

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

emoticon Gordon emoticon to the team! You have done our dream but then we have traveled extensively as well. Had our kids in 42 states as well as Canada and Mexico and played in the Pacific, Atlantic and Gulf. We have a permanent path from MN. to TX where we winter. This year we returned to MN. a week ago tomorrow and have floated away. Off to another short week on Sun. Love the road as we all do on this team! Welcome!!

Slow & steady makes a winner of us. Even if we hit pitfalls, get up. Know that a new day is right around the corner.
Try to be all that you can be. Work at it a day at a time.

emoticon Gordon! emoticon to the RV Enthusiasts team. Your story is very similar to all our stories. Most of us have decided we need to lose weight and get healthier in our years ahead so we can enjoy our retirements and RVing.

I hope you enjoy posting with this team. We do most of our daily chatting in the Tell Us About Your Day thread but post any where and we will follow you. We love our new members and look forward to getting acquainted with you.

That is great! What wonderful trips you have made! My husband and I hope to do what you are doing, living for long stretches and traveling in the RV. We recently sold our larger home and are building a much smaller one on some property we owned in Deleon, TX. In 2011 we did travel from Texas up to Vermont and back, but that was with our 2002 RV 5th wheel we used to own. Last year, bought a 2013 Jayco Pinnacle and have been traveling locally, but nothing too far. We are living in the RV while Hubby is building our new home.

My name is Gordon I am new to SparkPeople and hope it will work for me. I like what I have seen so far.
I have had a few rv's over the years, but in the past 3 years have devoted a lot more time to it. 2 year ago we travelled from one coast of Canada to the other, and if that wasn't enough we drove from the Yukon Territory to California across to Florida and then to the Maritimes. This past winter we drove from the Yukon to Texas and back. Our plan is to spend from 4-6 months travelling in our RV. So being healthy has to become number 1 on my list.
