Hi, all.

Iím not quite NEW here, but I donít think I ever introduced myself.

Iím Eleyne, and Iíve been writing all my life. Iíve completed three novels, and am in the process of editing and rewriting. I write historical fiction, romance, and mainstream fiction. Iím unpublished but I hope to amend that soon, as I have a short story almost ready to submit.

Iíve written out my goals, daily, weekly, monthly Ö now, to achieve them.

Hello, Team!
My name is Sandy. I have been writing for the past few years, and have recently published a few poems in magazines and done some freelance writing for our local paper.

I mainly write children's fiction and poetry.

I finished my first book a few years ago, but it still needs re-working, and its basic premise doesn't really seem marketable to to me (or to any of the agents and editors I have sent it to.)

I am in the 5th chapter of my 2nd book now, and I think this one is much better than the first.

I recently started my own blog where I can post work that has been rejected and I don't intend to try sending it out again.

I am excited to join this team because I sometimes get discouraged and frustrated with my writing, and of course, with my weight loss. Somehow, spending hours in front of a computer or a pad of paper isnt' always condusive to health. who knew?

Hi! I have been a member on SP for about one month now and I love it. I am new to this team, but I love to read and write and have dreamed of becoming published since I was a little girl. I worked for a publishing company during school and am currently a stay at home mother trying to get my start freelancing.

Hi, I'm Kallie. I write literary fiction. I had a book of short stories published a few years ago and am currently working on a novel. I've had a dry patch in terms of creativity but I'm hoping to pick up the pace again soon.

Hello Everyone!

I joined the website based on a recommendation from a friend. Hopefully it will be a source to help me finally get started and continue moving in the right direction. In order to do this, I know I will need a lot of support. In reality, I'm not too fond of telling the people around me what I'm doing because I have started and stopped this journey so many times that I doubt anyone takes me seriously. I am a 38 year old woman trying to finally get to a weight that helps me feel the energy and confidence I need.

I'm sure you'll think of more to write about. Sometimes it just takes a little more time. Hey, how about writing about "time"?

Hi, I am working on a Christian devotional for people with mental health issues. I haven't wrote much lately though. I have two stories laying around on my computer too.
I dream of publishing my devotional some day. I have gave a copy of the first four months of the year and hope that I can finish the year before May. I don't know if I can do it. I seem to be running out of things to write about.

Hello. My name is Deborah. I was a member of this team about a year ago. But I got a little overwhelmed and dropped out. I hope no one minds if I join in again.

I am the author of "Ghost Stories of St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and the Pineallas Peninsula", published by History Press in 2007.

I am currently working on another history book, a self-help book, and a novel. I am feeling scattered and definitely NOT motivated.

I need help. I think this is the place to find it!!

Hello. My name's Rose. I haven't been on SparkPeople in a while, but with a friend's wedding swiftly approaching, I decided to come back. I am a writer, but I've had writer's block since I graduated high school about three and a half years ago. (I have good ideas, but the words come out all wrong.) Anyway, I'm hoping that by joining this team, I'll be encouraged to keep trying, even just by seeing it on my SparkTeam page.

Lu, I purchased the online WM and didn't like it, so cancelled the following day. Thank goodness they have that window of time in which to change one's mind!

I used the paper WM for years. Everything is so different now with the internet, and with publishing having changed so dramatically.

I love it that so many are self publishing, and publishing online. Better than wasting time and money on pointless scrambling after agents and publishers. I've been published in smaller markets a few times (articles, poetry, prose) and once even had a personal letter from one of the Biggies...but ended up my book didn't "go with the rest of what they were publishing that year." Still, that was reason for celetration to me, just to know that they'd sat at their table and discussed my work.

I found the online version Of Writer's Market difficult to use and hard to search. Maybe others had better luck. Still, I prefer to have the book in hand that I can readily take with me.

Congratulations on your success so far.

A life long dream of writing a novel, has now happend for me--along with loosing 40lbs in 2009. With the NaNo challenge in November, I was able to finished my second novel as well. My new goals--to finished loosing those last 10lbs and to begin the process of query letters. I am new to all this--but I know that God has given me this story to write and I'm so excited to see what HIS plans are with it. Question: Is it better to buy the Writer's Market or subscribe to the online site??

Hello fellow writers,

My name is Jason and I've been on Spark for a while but fell off the bandwagon. I have plenty of excuses for that, but in the end that's all they are - excuses. Since I'm going to have to add book promotion to my list of activities this year, I figured I had better lose a little weight before my schedule became even more hectic!

Hi Team. This year I signed up for NaNoWriMo and, while I didn't finish my novel by the deadline, I am now (a month late) finished.

I'm wondering how to publish it. I know, from past experience, that not many publishers will give the time of day to a novice without an agent. And I'm not sure of a trustworthy agent.

So here I am to learn from you and to share my story and experience in getting it published - which I intend to do this year, one way or another.

Looks like you've got a group here. Hope you don't mind if I join you for some mutual support and accountability.

I'm an agented, but as of yet unpublishd (lol) writer of suspense with romantic elements. I have one book out on submission to publishers (aka collecting editor rejections) and I'm currently working toward completing a draft of my next novel which I hope to complete by January 20th.

My plan is to write 15k words per week (3k each weekday with some catch-up and/or editing over the wknds) so that I can get it to my agent before the end of January.

Hi everyone,
I'm not a week old yet in Spark terms, so just starting to get a handle on it. Lots of pounds to lose! Lots of words to write. I'm hoping as the words go up the pounds will also go down *g*, but I know I have to exercise and watch the cals too.

I write mystery/magic/romance and am both published and self-published. I'm just coming to the end of the latest novel - The Moon's Song - a mystery/romance built around the legend of Tristan & Isolde, set in Cornwall (which I know very well) in about 2003. The end is being very elusive but I hope to find it by the end of the w/end.

The story has taken me places I didn't know it wanted to go which is fasicinatng and absorbing. Stories always tend to use me as their vehicle. I try to "herd it in and head it out", to quote Rowdy Yates. There! That gives my age away *g*. But that's how I feel with stories, it's a continuous 2-way stretch between me and it. We both grow from the process and I love it. I cannot not write ... not and stay sane. Of course, that assumes I am sane now - a point always open for discussion LOL

Looking f/wd to meeting you all.

Ok well here goes nothing...

Hi there!

This is really my first week of sparking; and I thought it was about time I joined some groups - being all social and whatsit. So then, why writing? Well I'm an English Journalism student at my University - writing is a passion. Not epic fantasy novels, nor academic papers to the Nth degree (much to the disappontment to my lecturers I'm sure!) I just love to write. Conversational writing, writing people can relate to. Write for the people Hoo-rah! Hehe.

I've really begun putting on weight since I moved house, and now I think its about time that I begun putting weight off! I've started a blog on my SparkPage called "Xixian's Weightless Room" (coughnotashamelessplugcough) so maybe through some writing, some good eating, some - ugh! - walking and some new friends on Spark I can get where I want to be!

I want to lose 5 kg (metric system!) to be within my ok weight range, but fitness is my goal. I'm sick of being tired going up hills; I'm sick of not walking because catching a bus is easier. I'm sick of having flabby bits under my arms that make short sleeved shirts look hidious!

So here I am - new, bright, and sparky!

Hi everyone -

I'm on my second go-around with sparks. Last time was after child #3. This time is child #4. My current MS is contemporary/comedic women's fiction, although my goal has always been historical YA adventure (1880 San Francisco being my setting).

Anyways, I am serious about my art. Or at least as serious as a full time mom of four, part time salaried worker can be. The older my baby gets the more serious I am able to be. I'm looking to meet like-minded writers.

Diet-wise, I've got 10 lbs to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 173. I should really be 155 for my height/age/bone-size, although the lowest I've ever gotten is 169 (and that only latest four days). My body gravitates to 173 lb.

173 here I come!

Hello everyone! I am new to this group, and still fairly new to SparkPeople. I hope to find motivation and inspiration as well as to give the same to others.

I have two current goals:
1) lose 60 lbs (this will get a little more added as time goes on)
2) get an agent for my writing (I have one finished young adult paranormal romance completed, and another that is in the works) and hopefully finally get my work into publishers hands

Now its hard work to get both done, but I am ready to do what it takes to see my goals become a reality!

Forever team Jasper!

My sparkpage and blog are currently set to friends only, but no fear - if you'd like just shoot me a friends request and I will be more than happy to approve and friend you right back. ^^

Hi! I'm so excited about this team! I love to write fiction and am currently working on an adult fantasy as well as a children's fantasy book (although there are many other ideas for books rolling around in my head). I would dearly love to finish one of these monsters...but I find I have quite a hard time staying with a schedule as we have 5 kids and I also stubstitute teach. I think I just need someone to encourage me to stick with it.
Spark-wise, I am trying to be more disciplined about my work-outs...and I've been doing great since mid-July. Thanks for the friendly invite!!

HI, I'm Sharon and excited to join this group of writers. My book is being printed as I type this and should be available in a few weeks. It's been a long journey but a fun and fruitful one...not to mention how much I've learned along the way.

I've also been struggling with my weight for the past 10 years, have diabetes 2 because of it, and am physically not in great shape. I'm a four year survivor of lung cancer and 9 month survivor of kidney cancer. I hope that's the end of it.

I'm looking forward to get to know you all. If you'd like to read about my book, please follow the link below.

Hugs,
Sharon

Hello everyone, my name is Lorrie and I'm a freelance journalist.

My love of writing began with free verse and an obsession with Poe in the 4th grade. But I also had a love of science and maths. Luckily, I was able to combine these things to create a career.

I'm looking forward to chatting with each of you. (oh and Scarlett - fancy seeing you here emoticon )

Hi. My name is Vicki. I write romance. Mostly western historical, however I have a contemporary partly written. Right now I'm working on revising my first ms which just finalled in the Heart of the Rockies, Colorado Romance Writers contest. An agent is the final judge, so I'm excited.

My weight blossomed when I started writing. I work full-time and working out took a back seat to writing. Now I'm working on finding a balance.

Glad to have found you all.

Vicki

Hi, I'm Jennie. I've always loved to write, even since I was a child. Whether it's essays, short stories or poetry, I find writing to be a great way to express myself. I've recently gotten back into it and I believe that it will be beneficial to my weight loss "journey."

THE EMPOWERED LIFE. EXPECT IT . BELIEVE IT. RECEIVE IT.
The human will is the most incredible thing. It's what keeps us going when everyone else expects us to quit.

THIS MEANS WAR AGAINST FAT:
I'm too positive to be doubtful, too optimistic to be fearful, and too determined to be defeated.
