Thanks Scoobie, I think if anything I'm not eating enough. I heard that is just as bad as eating too much. Weight watchers point system didn't do anything for me. I've finally gotten over the hump here. Now to not get into another plateau.
Thanks again,
Linda

Hello, my name is Linda and live in Florida. Nice to find MSers who understand how our daily lives affect us. I'm 53, and have MS for 5yrs. now. I've lost 15lbs. before joining here but have come to a halt. No weight loss for a month or so. Need to lose another 15 or so. I'm only 5ft. so 142 is too much for me. I feel better since losing the 15, but need more off. Having a hard time with exercise. Tried to do the big ball thing and got dizzy right in the store. Errrr.....

I have been diagnosed for 10 years. I moved from Dallas to Arkansas when the symptoms progressed to be closer to family and there are no walks in the area I am in either. I am going back to Dallas to see the doctor who diagnosed me there are very few Doctors or hospitals in this area and none that treat MS so I am going back for a visit with friends and to visit my original doctor. I am looking forward to getting to meet all of you and being able to support of in our efforts to lose weight and keep on our path to a successful life.

Remember to be yourself, because the people that matter don't mind, and the people that mind don't matter.

Huh? Your 83-yo mom is willing to push you in the walk? Wow, you come from some sturdy stock! And she sounds like a dear. I'm so sorry you had the relapse and hope that you are able to get out there and enjoy the walk, even if it's with a cane. I like to walk without a cane, but I'm so much better with it, especially on the rough days.

I walked in the Susan G. Komen breast cancer walks for years until I moved to a community that didn't have one close by. Let us know how the walk goes.

emoticon emoticon to Sparks and to this team. We are a very knowledgeable and supportive group.

Your family seems really great. I am so sorry to hear of your mom's diagnosis. I wish her all the best.

You have a plateful to balance this summer. Remember to take time for yourself so you can be there for them. It is so important to take time for yourself first, hard as that is to do. Never be afraid to ask for the families help. That is a big help.

Welcome to the team and I hope you get support and information that you need.

Have a wonderful week.

EG :)

Hi Beth,

I'm sorry to hear you had a relapse but sounds like you are determined to not let it defeat you. My mother, maternal aunt, and 1st cousin had mastectomies and have been cancer free for a number of years. I admire you for training for the walk and hope you'll be able to participate.

How long have you been diagnosed?

Vicki

Welcome to the group Beth. I hope that you're able to do the breast cancer walk. My mother is a survivor and a good friend of mine had surgery and is now going through radiation treatment for her cancer. Good luck with your MS, your weight loss efforts, and the walk.

There was much rejoicing!

I hope I am doing this right it is my first time. I am new to Sparks. I have MS and also need to lose about 140 pounds. I 50 years old and have two children away at college so I live alone with my dog. I had been in remission from the MS to where I felt good enough that I thought I might attempt to do a 5K Breast Cancer walk I had lost 20 pounds as was feeling rather confindent and wanted to do it in memory of my sister and honor of my other sister and my two aunts who survivied. THe week after I registered I had a relapse and am now back in the wheelchair. I am hoping that I can continue to lose weight and that this relapse will go back into remission in time for me to do the race if not my 83 mother said she would help push me thru it. I am looking for buddies that I can motivate and that can motivate me to lose weight and to not give up on the day to day challenges.
