I had an embolization in December 2008 and my larger fibroids have shrunk. However my doctor discovered about six smaller ones late last year. Sigh!
Before I had the procedure, I had very heavy bleeding with large clots, lots of pain, bad mood swings, cravings and anemia. I recovered relatively well after the procedure and my symptoms are greatly reduced.
I am glad that I had it done.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers:) I had an abdominal myomectomy 2 weeks ago. My doctor removed a fibroid that was 12 cm and weighed a pound (about the size of a cantaloupe), and he also removed 2 golf ball sized embedded fibroids. He said he had to do a lot of work on my uterus during the surgery.

I too am wanting another baby. I have three healthy children that I am so thankful for. My husband and I would love to have one more baby. My doctor says I must wait 6 months after the surgery to try to conceive. He also said I would have to deliver by c-section, which is fine by me. I would also be a very high risk pregnancy (d/t uterine scarring & such).

My fallopian tubes were completely blocked before he removed the fibroids. He put some dye in my tubes during the surgery (right after he removed the fibroid), and said they opened up a bit and some of the dye was flowing through. However, I had a lot of inflammation. From what I understand, they may open up more once the swelling goes down...I hope.

I wish you the best with your upcoming appointment. Thanks for sharing your experience:) Keep in touch.

Hi! I want to say that I had firbroids that my dr watched for over 8 yrs and I am 35 yrs old. I had my first child in 2004which I had to be put on bed rest at 5 months due to the fibroid & cyst pressing against the baby. I was told that I may have a miscarriage so don't get my hopes up. I asked God to help me through this. I had so much pain during the pregnancy you would not believe. It was stressful emotionally, physically, & financially. But, through it all by his garce I was blessed with a healthy baby girl which I carried full term. The fibroid was still there and started to grow after the baby. I suffered with pain until 2006 when I had a myomectomy. The firbroid came back in 2009. I always thought of having another child so, it was diappointing to here that because I didn't want to go through the same as I did before. Since then I have not felt any pain or discomfort. I am not sure if the cyst and firbroids are still there though. I am now trying to conceive after being married now for a year. I have not had much success in conceiving, but I have scheduled to see a specialist in a week from now.I want to say that we are each other's strength. I pray for healing for all of us and our heart's desires are on the way; according to his perfect will and plan for our lives.
