I love the bathtub planter. I have been recycling glass vases and dishes. By stacking them and gluing them with EC6000 they make happy additions to my garden.

I also make quilts and I use leftover fabric for a postage stamp quilt. It is a long term project.

We're glad you've joined our group! I probably wouldn't have envisioned that purple bathtub as a planter if I had seen it, but what a great idea you had! I bet it really looks good.

Thank you for introducing yourself, and we hope to hear more great ideas from you!

Hi everybody, I just joined this group. I love to make things out of discarded items. I picked up an old pale purple bathtub and am using it as a planter. There are lots of fun ways to recycle in the garden, but I also enjoy sewing and fashioning things out of old plastic jugs and the like. I'm 62, a widow, with four grown kids and one little grandson. Looking forward to finding out what you all are up to!

So glad that you found us, MOCKSPAR! Welcome to our team!
I'm into saving all kinds of cardboard boxes, too, and I can't throw out tea bag or coffee filters.

Hello! What a cool team! (Found it on IMPROVINGME's SparkPage this morning. Who knew?) My art form of choice is Zentangle, which I practice on everything I can find. My latest folly is used tea bags and coffee filters, but I'm no stranger to cracker and cereal boxes!!

Hi Everyone, I am new here but been doing SparkPeople for awhile.

I was diagnosed with bilateral stage III breast cancer in 2014. After double mastectomies, chemo, radiation, and now reconstruction (still ongoing), I realized I needed to do something for me.

I am planning to start an Etsy shop focused on upcycling items and reselling them. This is something I have always wanted to do but never had the guts to try. Now I realize I need to do it for me (therapy) and for a little extra money.

Hoping to get and share some great ideas with the group.

Happy to be alive and happy to be here - with you all.

Bright Blessings-

I happened upon this team and just had to join. I'm constantly looking for ideas to reuse and recycle things. Crafting on a shoestring, works for me.

Hi, Annie!
Thank you for introducing yourself. I know what you mean about saving stuff! I keep reading all the books about how to unclutter, and I've about decided that it won't happen soon around my house because I keep saving for some unknown craft that I might get around to making someday.
Welcome to our team, and please let us know when you get some projects going!

I love to re-use things. And I love doing crafts.

Unfortunately, I'm not really that creative when it comes to up-cycling. I've made Crystal Light containers into pen holders. We decopaged the outside with old tissue paper I had laying around. Other than that, I haven't got many ideas.

Hey everyone! I'm so excited to have found this group, upcycling is something recent I've really gotten started. Right now I'm using my old fabric scraps from skirts, pants, etc. to make fabric yo-yo's. I hope to attach them and make a throw, maybe a pillow if I get enough made! There are several other crafts, I could go on and on! Thanks for your support, can't wait to hear of some new craft ideas!

Hi everyone! What an awesome team! I love taking "junky" stuff and making something new, my favourite thing is probably paper crafts, like making journals or 3D collages, but I also want to start trying some other stuff, like making birdfeeders.

Welcome, Kimba! Glad you've joined us.
F8CONE8 -- Those are some great water bottle crafts. I've printed several of them out to make with my granddaughters next week when they come for Spring Break. They love jewelry, so the bracelets look easy enough. They also raise show pigs, so I think they 'll enjoy making the "Adorable Clay Pig." Thanks for the link!

Hi Kimba! I too pick up shiny (or rusty) objects for using on bird houses and feeders. In Oregon water bottles carry a deposit so recycling is encouraged. I use a metal water bottle and refill it with good spring water so I don't collect many anyway.

I did find this website for you though!

This is an awesome looking team! I love to use old clothes and materials and make things from them, I also pick up any metal items I see on the street that happen to fall off trucks etc(old rusty washers, big screws, nuts, bolts. etc) to make jewelry from. I'll have to post some pics soon... Looking forward to meeting you all and getting some new ideas!
Anyone have any ideas for used water bottles--I seem to be gathering tons of those since I joined spark :P

Hi, Joyce! Welcome to our team. I'm so glad you're reading old posts and looking around. Lots of good craft ideas on this forum.
We've been having fun trading our inchies. I don't do anything with mine except put them in a pretty box on my coffee table and enjoy looking at them! Some people make picture frames with them; others arrange them for greeting cards or whatever they can think of.

This is a great explanatory thread from Craftster.org-

Welcome Joyce. Checkout our team photos for some samples of inchies. These are incredible 1inch x 1inch pieces of art that are then traded with others. I put mine in an album and I just love them. Hope you will get the bug too.

I would love to find some woolen items in our resale shops here, but someone else must also be looking for them and beating me to the punch. With our very warm temperatures here, we don't have very many wool clothes to begin with.

Hi my name is Red, and I recycle wool from knitted garments that I get from second hand shops.. I also have a workmate whom recycles gift wrapping paper, soda can rings, and just about anything into fashionable bags and accessories.. I also watch big rubbish collections here in denmark and my home is filled with some amazing stuff other people don't want.. I also re-use coffee glasses to a series of storage containers, I don't need fancy stuff just items that do the job.. Rather a let down for anyone whom breaks into my home, we don't own anything of huge value lol...

Have any of you tried inchies? They are such fun little one-inch pieces of art. Our team is having an inchie swap for June. See the thread and consider joining us. Just tell me you'd like to participate and I'll send you my address.

I love doing crafts of all kinds & now that I'm no longer working, I have more time for them. I have crocheted since I was a little girl, but I've been branching out lately. I've been scrapbooking & I've tried my hand at decoupage. I have some supplies & want to try jewelry making. I especially like the idea of combining crafting fun with recyclng. Glad to find that I already know some of the members of this team.

I'm obsessed with books of all kinds and I guess my Bipolar and Aspergers really comes out here as I love making lists. Making my own books out of other things is great!

Welcome, Sam! I love making books, too. Books and papers are my passions.

Hi,

I'm from Sussex in the UK. I love making books from other stuff or old paper and I also love making treasure boxes from old leather bound books. I create box artwork and also add quotes or poetry to stones/beach pebbles.

I like to appropriate things I find or come across in junk shops. I'm into steampunk at the moment.

I hover around Etsy, Notonthehighstreet, Instructables and re-foundobjects.

I'm very interested to see what other people are doing and get some more inspiration!
