I've had the basic alta for several years and honestly use it more as a watch and occasional look at how far I walked. It doesnt seem to show steps. Probably not set right but I'm seriously considering upgrading and getting into serious stepping. I just turned 73 and I need to at least retain the health I have. And my dachshund, Wally, loves to walk. Not familiar with the newer fitbits. I need something that a dummy can figure out. Carol

I have been using a Fitbit since June 2015. I am on my third Fitbit.

My Goal has always been 10,000 steps.

I used to get a lot more but my life has turned out to be a lot more sedentary now than it used to be.

Fitbit is one of my best life style regulators. It inspires me to be my better person, spend more time out of doors moving & taking better care of me.

I've just had my Fitbit Charge4 since Christmas 2020. It was a gift from my husband, although that wasn't what he had in mind when he gave me the gift card. However, he was glad I chose it for my gift. The most steps I've had, so far, have been 8,000+. Those are usually on shopping days! I synced mine with the SP account, and I know it's going to give me a more accurate count of calories burned. There's so much guesswork with some exercise. This seems to "nail it."

Started with the Charge and when the strap broke I got the versa, almost 3 years ago. I like how easy it makes it when synced with SP.
had an injury and fell of the wagon completely in 2020. On Jan 1 2021 I charged my versa and updated everything and started back on SP!
Starting out slow but steady.

I got a Fitbit Charge HR in Feb 2016. I lost 20 lbs. Then I put weight on and off four more times. I wasnít staying the course with SparkPeople.
emoticon
Then the COVID-19 pandemic began. I started walking, seriously, starting April 16th, 2020.
emoticon
I got a Fitbit Inspire HR in May, 2020. The strap on my old Fitbit was looking pretty ratty, and my eyes were squinting to read it. I missed that my new Fitbit didnít track my stair climbing. I miss it!
emoticon
Fast forward to January 2021, Iím down 65 pounds, track daily, and walk daily.
I like that my Fitbit is water resistant, has a week long charge, and isnít as big as a small toaster! I know there are bigger, better models out there, but this will do me for now. And, I now wear prescription glasses.

I've had a Fitbit since December 25, 2015. I believe the most steps I ever had was 32,000. We went on a hike while we were on vacation a couple years ago and that puppy did it for me!!

I guess I should have posted this info here instead of on the Intro. I bought my Fitbit about a week ago and nephew set it up. (I'm not tech savvy), so I started using it last Friday.
Wow, that is great steps over 23,000, I had 19,000 on Saturday, but don't see doing that again soon. I'm retired, 70 yrs old, 4/7", so want to get back into a good routine of eating and exercise. I've never had a way to know how to burn the calories that I take in until now.

I try to burn off the calories I take in from each meal. I do that while doing my 250 steps each hour. Goal is 100 lbs. When I was trying to get over my binging DH gave me $100 when I got down to 110. Now I'll get $50 if I get down to 100 lbs. I know I can do it with my new toy. I'm 111 now. Yeah, I gained again after I reached the 110 mark.

I bought a Fitbit Charge 3 less than a week ago. My most steps in a day, so far is 23,013. Hope I'm not being motivated by the newness of it. I am recovering from spinal surgery so trying to get my fitness levels up so I can start working on my, now non existent, core strength, once the Covid 19 lock-down is relaxed a bit in the UK.

Got my original fitbit in March 2012.

Lifetime Achievement Stats
Steps | 20,352,617

I started out with an Ultra. When that died, I moved to a One. I moved to a Charge HR from there and just before the warranty expired, it bubbled and they sent me a replacement one, so I used that until I got my Charge 2 on Black Friday 2016. I've been using this one since and I love it. I bought extra chargers to keep at my work desk and in my car, so I can top off my batteries whenever I want. Works out pretty well.

I have a question. I have a Fitbit Alta HR which I got in late October 2017. Just how long can I expect my Fitbit battery to last? Can the battery be replaced? I find that the charging of my Fitbit only goes to 40%!!!

I have had a fitbit One for many years. I am on my third one. The holder is worn out and fitbit says I can't replace it so it's been limping along for over a year. This weekend I broke down and ordered a new Versa. I am hoping it will sync with my computer. The ONE only seems to sync when it wants to and on days it doesn't I have to manually put in my steps to SP. Today it hasn't even synched to my iPhone.

I am Serena. I now live most of the time at a lodge on the western side of Washington state. I was ready to retire this past July but decided to transfer and stick around for another couple years. I don't think I will last another couple years. The ranch just sold and will close shortly and that will be my opportunity to pay off my new truck and my barn and finally leave the workforce behind! We are opening a destination airbnb and I will be working full time with that and training my new Gypsy

I got a charge 2 for Christmas, I love it, I always wondered how much walking I do at work, come to find out I average about 10,000 steps which is about 4 miles for me.
I also pay monthly for Fitbit app ( I know it's more expensive paying monthly) which gives more workouts that I can do. The thing about the workout is there's none that is easy it's either medium or hard and some of the work outs required me to go at a pace that is to fast.
Example- walking at 3.0 mph! I'm sorry that's jogging for me! LoL

I really wanted to c how much walking I was doing. I purchased the One around July 2012... I loved it... the little holder was awesome , could wear it anywhere. I decided I wanted a watch type and purchased the charge... what a freeing event... I wear a watch so it made it easy to keep track of steps... i did have an unusual floor count .. I did figure out that I am always reaching for things ... I wanted to watch my heart rate so a couple years ago I purchased the charge 2. I love it... Fitbit community is awesome... if u need help or make friends its available . now there is this team run by Raul... Yay!

I first began using a One back sometime in 2013. Eventually it died, and I replaced it with another One, but then following an update, I was unable to get it to sync. Tried everything--I mean EVERYTHING--to fix it, then just recorded data on paper while I shopped for a new one. None of the available products had everything I wanted: stair count (which I use as a record of elevation gain when hiking), bra clip instead of wristband, usb rechargeable, etc. I thought I was finished with Fitbit when the company seemed to ignore all the requests for stair count feature posted on their own forums. But...yippee! I just found the Charge 3, which had a few things I probably won't use, but at least has what I want. Although it is a wrist based tracker, I can adapt to ankle or bra, courtesy of plenty of ideas on Etsy, since I don't care about monitoring my heart rate when not actively exercising. The water resistance is a nice bonus too. Woot! I'm back!

Exercise should be about rewarding yourself with strength and endorphins, not punishing yourself for what you have eaten.

Charge 2 since November 2016. Before that I had a Jawbone for at least a year.

Linda from Central Illinois

My March goals are:

1. Track more (at least 21 days)
2. Lose 2.1 pounds, at least. (I gained weight in February--this has to stop)
3. Continue to exercise 3 to 5 times a week
4. Work on organizing sewing room better.
5. Continue to put together my Grassy Creek tops and get ready to quilt them.
6. Quit mindless snacking.

Hello...I got my Fitbit Charge 2 in November 2017. I have been very happy with it. emoticon
I have disrupted sleep, and have for many years, 3 sleep studies done, borderline narcalepsy...so I was very curious to see what my nightly readings were. emoticon Very interesting!! emoticon
The reminders help, I enjoy watching the mini celebration when my daily steps are met! emoticon
Right now my daily step goal is 6000, I think my highest was 11,417! emoticon
My sister-in-law got me a 10-pack asssortment of different colored bands for Christmas so that I can color coordinate. Fun!
I'm used to always wearing a watch, (I like the many choices of displays, too) so to me, it's very easy to wear! I enjoy it very much and it's worth every penny!!

I got my Fitbit Alta HR back in October 2017 and I must admit that it does not leave my wrist. I love it! Last evening, we had a dinner to go to and put it in my pocket so it could continue to count my steps. I endeavor to do the minimum of 10,000 per day and must admit that having the Fitbit does encourage me to do that much more.

Hi, Cindie--I just got my Fitbit at the beginning of the month; however, I bought it to replace my Garmin when the batteries died and I was unable to replace them. I bought the Alta and I really like it. I, too, don't always make my goal steps, but I like that it reminds to get up and walk.

I bought my FitBit flex in June. I wore it a couple days. It was not getting steps real well because I carry stuff at work. After I got an idea of how many steps for a few days I put it away. I recently participated in a 8 week challenge so started wearing it. Now I clip it to my shoe if I am doing the walking/carrying job or treadmill. I wear it on my arm when walking. I totaled 319 miles for the 8 weeks (I forgot it many times) I thought I would put it away again but now I am sad if I forget it. I have gone back and forth with syncing it. So now I am back to syncing with SP. I am sure it is not 100% but it is close enough. It doesn't always get my exercise minutes correct. It has tanked a few times on me. I no longer sweat that. I use map my walk mostly to get my time and pace. So I have that for back up. I found that if I restart my phone it will sync if it is having trouble. Or wait until later and it catches up most of the time.

Not sure - I am on fitbit #3. I started with a fitbit one - it lasted a couple years. Replaced it with another - which only lasted a little longer than a year. This time I struggled - do I get an HR2, do I get the alta, read lots of reviews, my daughter has the alta and said she doesn't like the band, that it comes undone frequently. I decided to stick with fitbit one again - so I am now on #3! for me I think it is more accurate - I don't always swing my arm when walking as I usually walk with my dog - I found when wearing my daughters it seemed that it was light in the step department on my 3 mile walks! I also like that I can clip on the one and no one can see it. I really don't like the bracelet at work. Time will tell how this one will last!

I see it's been awhile since anyone has posted on this thread, but I'm gonna answer the original post anyway!

I've been using a Fitbit since April 2013....I started out with the Zip, then moved up thru the ranks...One, Flex, Charge HR, then I bought my daughter's Blaze bc she wasn't using it....and I love it! Sometime I will still use the One if I don't want my Fitbit to show that day or I might wear the Flex if my Blaze is on charge. My Charge HR started acting strange so it is retired! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE wearing my Fitbit. I might cry if I were to leave home without it!

y all time high for steps was 21,863...I won the 20,000 step badge that day!....I was walking around DC with my son's family...and Grandma did a good job keeping up! I was really glad I'd been working out. LOL

I received mine (a One) as a birthday gift in May of 2015. I love it! I picked up a back-up version because my original One was acting a little funny. I was able to get it for free using Humana points through my employer.

I posted my introduction in the wrong place. That's why this post will show up as edited.

I've had my Fitbit less than two weeks. I think my highest number of steps is a little over 17,700. I'm averaging about 12,000.

Hoping this will be a useful tool to help give me a better picture of my daily activity leverl.

I had a Fitbit flex a couple of years ago, I couldn't wear it because it broke out my arm. I now have the Fitbit Alta, I bought it this month (April) and I bought a leather band which keeps my arm from breaking out, I like it. I do take it off at night because I don't like wearing anything on my wrist when I sleep. I am motivated to move more, still working on getting my steps consistently increased.

Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save and preserve it. - Plato

I have had the fitbit flex since January 13. I'm wanting to like it; but, am, honestly, having a difficult time getting excited about it. It isn't that there aren't things about it that I like; but, it simply cannot compare to the accuracy of the Spark Activity Tracker. The calorie burn data (even keeping in mind that it includes the BMR) is so GROSSLY OVER for me that it is essentially useless. And, I am one that cares about calorie burn data.

My initial plan was to connect the fitbit to Spark yesterday. But, I've decided not to do it because I have years of data in both the Spark Nutrition and Fitness Trackers and I don't want that data messed up. I'm also not keen on the idea that Spark shares Nutrition information with Fitbit.

I will likely return to manual fitness tracking, when the Spark Activity Tracker goes dark.

I'm happy for those of you that are finding benefit with your fitbits. It simply may not be the tracker for me.

I am Sonya. As for my most steps, daughter invited me to a weekday challenge and I got 35,960 steps on August 12th, walking outside in the South's hot and humid summer. My 5 day total was 166,172 steps. 3 weeks later I tore both peroneal tendons in my left ankle. My right ankle now needs surgery for the same thing and deepening the channel in the bone. Still, I wear my Fitbit to see how many steps and calories are burned during Physical Therapy and working on my upper half at the gym. I will get at least 20k steps a day one of these days and you will know it is me from the smile on my face.

Tina, I once got 25,000 steps (pre FITBIT) when we went on an excursion in Alaska. Someone, I shall name NO names emoticon , thought it would be great fun to hike up the mountain to see the Mendenhall Glacier. Boy do I wish I'd had a fitbit to see what I would have gotten for stairs. There was lots of uphill, rough hiking but there was a section of 198 steps! I can tell you I had an awful time getting out of bed for the next 2 or 3 days!!!

I have had a fitbit for about 2 years now, my HR Charge will be a year old in Feb. The most I have gotten in 1 day was 17k and at that time I could barely move haha. I pushed and my legs and feet were very angry with me!! I tend to be able to do 12k comfortably (if I hit that when I am not lazy!!) My hubs just started using my old Flex and in 2 days he is obsessed!

I got mine in early November. Up until that time, I had Jawbone. The last one I had, the band split in two after less than 8 months. Their customer service sucks! I so love my Charge 2HR! I have gotten 10,000 or more every day since I got it. Never did that long with the Jawbone.

I've had a fitbit for almost 5 years. My first one went through the wash--not recommended. So on my second one. When we were in Boston on vacation we walked the Freedom Trail, and that was the most I've ever logged.

I don't remember when I got mine. I started out with an Ultra, had that for about 2 years and when it died I replaced it with a One. I'm now on my second One. The most I've ever managed in a day was 22711 this past May.

Not sure how long I have had mine but quite a long while. I would say 6 or 7 years. My hughest step count is 35,604 but that is a very rare number. I normally average about 8,000-9,000 steps a day.

I've had my Fitbit Alta since June 27th. I really think it's helping to keep me motivated. I'm always surprised at the number of steps I get in when I'm at work.

I started using the flex back at the end of July 2013, then moved to the one. I love both of them. My best day was 20137 steps and that was over Christmas when I was working at Kohl's. My goal is 8000 a day.

I started with the Fitbit Surge in Jan 2016 and now have the Blaze. The most steps I did was around 32,000 in a day.

I have had my fit bit since Oct 2015. Bought it for myself and my brother when he ended being diagnosed with all sorts of things (diabetes, high blood pressure, fatty liver). It has motivated him to walk more and I can taunt him. The most steps I have logged was 45000 steps. I was on a mission to beat one of my fitbit friends in a challenge

I have had my FitBit since April 2010 and my best step day was on 09/28/14 when I registered 44,305 steps. I have taken a grand total of 57,627.984 steps with my One!
My FitBit is one of the biggest motivators to just move. I love that all I have to do is wear it and it does the rest seamlessly without any input from me (except for actually moving!)

I've had my Fitbit since March 2014. My most steps was 32,750. That was back in April when I did a half marathon. That was the first and only time I got over 30k. I average 12k steps a day, usually ending up with 10k-15k steps a day.

I got mine in March 2015. My best day was 32,285, but that was rare. It was a really crazy hike in Southern Utah with some of my family. I have had one other day above 30,000.

I've had a Fitbit off an on since 2012.

One of the neat data points is the "Top Badges". I have achieved 20k 17 times and 25k one time.

I've been on 13 mile runs during this time period, but didn't have my Fitbit with me.

My quick look at the Dashboard tells me I just need 28,988 steps today to achieve the 30k badge! emoticon

I have been using it since Nov. I got 40,000 once and my ankle said don't do that again.

I have been using my fitbit since early December and I also love it. I have trouble with my knees so I am slowly increasing my step goal. The most I've had is just over 13,000 but I average closer to 8000 per day. I expect that to go up now that the weather has improved. I agree with you, it motivates me to move more than if I didn't have it. The part I like best is the stairs. Having had painful knees for several years I have avoided stairs whenever possible but having a goal of 3 flights per day has made me work hard to achieve it - and surprisingly it's also strengthening my legs and my knees hurt less! Win-Win.

Hi. Since march 2012 and most in one day was 26K

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much A true friend reaches for your hand but touches your hea

Hi--I'm Cindie--have been using Fitbit for quite awhile now and I can honestly say that I use it everyday. No matter what it does inspire me to walk, even if I haven't always got my goal steps in that day--it reminds me to do something! Recently I upped my goal from 10,000 to 11,000 steps per day to encourage me to get more in and help with my weight loss. So far I'm reaching it everyday. So I was wondering "how long" some of you have been using Fitbit and what the most steps are in a day you've achieved?
