Good Morning,

I have joined Sparks for a bit but had to leave do to medical issues. I am now back. I had Surgery on 2/12 but have been cleared by my DR to exercise.

I am excited to start again and know that since most of my medical issues have been resolved I can go forward.

Hi everyone! My name is Leigh Ann, and I'm 33 years old. I am happily married with two beautiful daughters, and I have an awesome job producing video games for Cartoon Network.

All of the adult women in my family are obese - both my mother and my aunt have had bariatric surgeries, and another aunt suffered a heart attack in her early 50s. I was never taught healthy eating habits when I was growing up, so perhaps it's not terribly surprising that I found myself packing on some extra pounds as the years went by. When my own BMI reached 30, I decided enough is enough. I want to feel healthier and have more energy, I want to be strong and beautiful, and perhaps most of all - I want to set a better example for my little girls.

I've occasionally been able to change my habits for a little while, and perhaps lose a few pounds, but then my life would get hectic (back to school, another baby, a new job, a new house, etc.) and I would get overwhelmed and fall back into my old habits and slowly and gradually, my weight would start to creep back up. I recognize that to be truly healthy and happy with body, I need to commit to a permanent lifestyle change, so I'm trying to make changes I can live with for the rest of my life. My biggest challenge is getting enough exercise. I sit in front of a computer most of the day, and when I get home, it's often more of the same! I'm trying very hard to change that, and I'm off to a great start. For the past two weeks, I've been getting in a little exercise every day, and I've already lost 7 pounds! I want to keep up the momentum, and I thought this challenge might help to keep me motivated as the next few weeks go by.

Hi, my name is Julie. I am a 46 year old mother and a grandmother of two little boys. I work from home and watch my 9 mo. old grandson who keeps me busy! I have seen results in my shape, especially my waistline since adding regular strength training and toning workouts to the cardio I was already doing.

Hi my name is Melanie. I am three weeks into starting this weight loss journey and already I am down 13 lbs. I had a weigh-in today and lost seven pounds. I am pumped!!!! I was thinking about hitting the gym again but after two mile walk with dogs and an hour and a half already at the gym I am thinking another walk will be just fine. Can't wait to see the weight come off. Oh I am 32, single and living near Orlando...by the way there was FROST on my car this morning when I left for the gym it was that cold last night....brrrrr!!!!!!

Hi, I'm Penny....39, married 17 years, one son who is almost 13...I have a blessed life. And I have much love for myself but I don't like being 263 pounds. I had a health scare at the end of 2012 that really brought home the fact that I need to make some changes. I will need a lot of encouragement. (Just being honest!) And would love to have a buddy to help me be accountable. I have tried doing it on my own with little success. I am hoping Spark can help! I am happy to be here.

I'm Beth - 56, happily married, retired teacher, starting a new exciting business with DH, have 3 wonderful grandkids, and 2 walking canine companions. I have a great l ife except that I squish, ache, pop, and crack. I feel and look a lot older than I am. As my squish got squishier and my weight increased my health decreased.

I love life and want to live a long time. My 6 year old granddaughter asked me to run a marathon with her in a few years... I'd love to but...

In January I had pnuemonia and broke three ribs. I started Paleo and my move toward health on February 1. I got the basics and am stepping up my game.

Hi everyone. My name is Sam (short for Samantha). I'm 45 with a husband and two teens at home. Finally getting serious about changing my life around this year. Have 100+ pounds to loose. 18 lost so far this year. Goaling for another 17 pounds by end of May. Hi, I am Sharon and just starting the challenge after completing the 28 day Boot Camp Challenge. I am really enjoying these challenges since it has been too cold outside for me to go running. I already did my day 2 a week ago so I will do day 1 today starting my challenge in March. Day 1 Boot Camp and Day 1 Spring into Shape were the same and did not want to do two in a row.

Hello! My name is Maria and I am 22 years old. I have always been somewhat overweight, and during my late teens I had a very bad self-image. The result was that I tried many crazy, starvation diets that resulted in temporary weight loss and frequent bouts of depression. I was lucky to have amazing friends that pulled me out of the dangerous path I was heading, and they helped me restore my peace of mind. However I was left afraid of myself, afraid of what would happen if I ever started dieting again so I let myself go more than I should and ended up on the overweight range again. I am determined to be a healthy weight by the time I turn 23, and I am determined to do it right this time.
I joined this group to kickstart my exercising efforts, as I have been pretty lazy for the past two years. We can do it!!!!

Working on getting back into shape after having my first child in October. Right now I am doing SalsaBabies and playing floor hockey once a week. I have also signed up for a 5k run in mid-March. I did this challenge while getting in shape before pregnancy, so I am hoping to have success with it once again.

HI my name is Renay and I just redid my page and looking for support. I was 275 pounds in 2005 and I lost 145 pounds by April 2009. Over the past 2 years I have put on 20 pounds and I would like to get that 20 pounds back off. I have been struggling I start to do good then I sabotage myself. I am with another two other groups on facebook One of them I meet in 2007 and the other group is more recent. But they are not on much and the support is not like I need right now so I am looking for more support I just turned 50 in Sept of 2012. I am looking forward to doing this challenge to help boost my start of this last 20 pounds

Hi everyone,
This is my first post in Spark people. I'm a Mom of 2. I've been using spark people for 2 years now. I'm a stay at home mom. Go for brisk walking with my baby at Mornings. Gym workouts at Evenings. Afternoon i do workout videos. Weekends rest. I drink 3 liters water everyday, and i always choose healthy foods to eat, but still my scale show me the same weight for last two month. I need to lose more weight. I need some motivation to reach my goal. Plz Help me.

I have psoriatic arthritis and I have limitations with that until it goes into remission, but I must do something to be active and get this weight off. Hi, my name is Cheryl and I am 42 years old. I have just completed treatment for Ovarian Cancer and am ready to get back into shape. Amazing what 6 mos of chemo can do to your body...and the weight gain? Who would have thought? Anyway, my goal is to loose around 60 lbs in a healthy, life long way. Good morning everyone! I just finished my day 4 work out and I'm liking how you can modify everything to fit your own fitness level. I did the January Jump Start and wanted to find a way to continue on with that type of program but still mix it up.
