Welcome to the team! It looks like you have very specific goals which is always helpful on a weight loss journey. When are you looking to join the military? Do you have a specific date? Spark is a really great resource. Stay active here on the team, and if you have questions or need help/support, we have a thread for that, too. :)

I would go to the meet up but unfortunately I am not able to make it.

I would say set your goals. You have a main goal which is joining the military. The next one is how to achieve that goal and well 1 is to loose the weight.

Use Sparks trackers (or other trackers) but keep up with it.
Exercise!!! Start small. I do not know what your overall health is (knee trouble, sore back...etc) Start with water aerobics. This will lets you work muscles without the hard pressure on joints.

When working out with machines I usually do 30 min cardio (walking or jogging on the treadmill) and switch off working out the upper or lower part of the body and always put in a few crunches on all work outs.

Most of all I love Zumba. Because it does everything. Cardio and a good work out.

If you can not get to a gym (like most) youtube has ALOT of workout music sets to use at home. Even Zumba workouts.

Most importantly work at your own pace. Have fun and listen to your body. We are here if you need anything!

I am seconding Jennifer's invitation to come to our dinner on Friday. I have more to lose than you, so I understand the enormity of your endeavor - though I am too old to join the military and have grandkids the age of your children - I understand needing support and encouragement. I'm so glad you are on this team! Thank you for introducing yourself. You have come to the right place for support. This is a very supportive, warm team and I know you will find the encouragement you need here.

I'm a single mother in San Antonio. I have two children, ages four and five. I'm in college for health care administration. I would like to lose weight to join the military. I have about 114 pounds to lose. If anyone has similar goals, please add me as a friend. I really need support. I appreciate it..have a great day.
