Welcome to the DWD Team! You are in the right place at the right time. This is a group of caring and compassionate people focused on giving and getting support and encouragement on a regular basis.

I suggest use of the Nutrition Tracker (above left under My Tools) to identify where your calories and other nutrients are currently coming from. Usually its a real surprise! There are also recommended ranges of nutrients to get your weight loss program started and going strong.

Add exercise and drinking 8 cups of water daily, and you've got the basics of the Spark People healthy lifestyle.

Take small steps toward your goals. Start a new good habit and once you've got it going, begin another. We don't want frustration and disappointment from expecting too much too soon.

We're all in this together. Check out the topics on the different Forums on the Team Page and jump right in. Posting often also helps make you successful on this journey.

Glad you joined us. This is a caring, supportive team from whom you will get lots of support and feedback. Several people on the team who share frequesntly have been through similar situations including ECT, but we are all striving to live healthier and happier - One day at a time.

You are off to a good start by setting up your spark page. Next just set a few small doable goals. Spark suggests one each in the area of nutrtion, fitness, and motivation. Most people start with getting used to tracking their food using the nutrtion tracker, 10 minutes of some fitness activity daily, increasing water intake, and sharing in a team regularly.

We are here for you - just let us know if you have any questions. Check out the different check-in groups such as daily check-in or having a hard day.

Hi! My name is Deb and I am from Pennsylvania. I suffer from Bipolar depression. I was diagnosed 3 months after I had my son at age 24. I have been in and out of the hospital for depression several times, and have tried several different medications for my disorder. I have gone through several treatments of ECT which have helped. Because of my depression I tend to eat alot especially when under alot of stress. I did lose 60 pounds but have since gained 15 back. I am glad to have found this site, and hope to meet others with depression that I can relate to thru this forum.
