Good for you on the walking shoes! your hubby is wonderful. Good luck, you will do fine, and try to get a sports bra that has the clasps in the back, so if you do lose more weight you can always make it tighter. I hate getting out of my sports bra, it's like getting out of war armor, but it really does do the job, keeps my girls put, and they don't move a bit!

Speaking of walking shoes, my hubby surprised me with the shoes I wanted! I thought for sure I'd have to wait til June! I really have to break them in though because tonight's walk was a little uncomfortable. It'll get better by next Saturday. Next thing to buy, resistance bands or a watch that is also a pedometer and heart rate monitor. After that, which by then I hope I've lost some of my "humongo-chest", I'll be able to get my sports bra. Don't want to get one and then lose and have to get another right away. I'm thinking later this year. We'll see!!!

I definitely know how it is not to have the money for this stuff. I just broke down and bought my sports bra, and it has helped tremendously during my spin classes, but cannot afford the spin shoes right now; my daughter's graduation is this month. And those shoes cost between $80.00 and $100.00! So I have to save up slowly for them, but it will happen, it just takes time, good luck.

I'm going to get a really good sports bra as soon as we have some extra money. Next month we are buying me some good walking shoes. We also have 3 birthdays to take care of in the next 2 months (June 3, July 23, and July 28th), our first family vacation to see my mom so she can meet our daughter for the very first time on August 9th, and then my husband's birthday August 20th. So, I'm thinking I won't get my sports bra til September, but by them, I'm hoping to have lost 15+ lbs. It'd be wonderful if I lost most of that weight in my chest! I hate being top heavy because it causes lots of low back pain (which already is sore because of an injury I acquired 16 yrs ago). Anyways, I just thought that I'd reply to this post because it was out there. Glad I didn't have to start this discussion....thanks to whoever started it!!!

A regular bra is just not as supportive when you are doing spinning classes 3 times a week

Ok so I broke down and bought the Glamorise sport bra from woman within, I had a coupon for 1/2 off the merchandise, so it only cost me $25.00. It is an amazing sports bra, it fits you like a suit of armor, and nothing moves!! I do love it, the only down fall is, it is hard to get into, and almost impossible to get out of. It would have been a wonderful thing if they made it with a zipper in front. Hopefully one day I will be thin and won't have to wear this, I can bye one of those thin material sport bras not made for war!!Lol

SHELLSHERE2011 -- you sound like an intelligent young women. I agree that $50 for a bra when you are a working mother, is a lot of money.

I saw that Glamorise bra in Woman Within, the grey and white one, but it's 50.00! I don't know why, maybe because I have been a single struggling single parent for so long, but spending $50.00 on a sports bra, or money on spinn sneakers (now that I am going twice a week) is something I can't bring myself to do. Lord knows I need the bra, and now another pair of sneakers, now that I am working out more, but spending....I am having a hard time doing that. But If my daughter needs something, I get that right away....sorry to go off in another direction here.

I didn't read through all of the replies but I did notice several gals commenting that they wear tow at a time for workouts. That is what I've been doing lately. The sports bra over a leisure bra, though. Not my everyday under-wire bra that I wear outside the house.

The collective resources are also appreciated. I'll be checking out some of those soon.

This SP article was also insightful for fitting yourself for a bra

Great advice! I have been looking for years for a good sports bra. You have posted sites and brands. What more can one asked for. Have to start researching them tomorrow,

I'm a 48DDD and I got mine at onestopplus.com. So far, it's worked out (ha, no pun intended) great. The brand is Glamorious (or something of that nature). I have also done the 2 bra's at once thing and that has worked out well also.

First I'd recommend a professional bra fitting. Nordstrom sales ladies do an amazing job at measuring. Be warned they get up close and intimate, that's why it's the Intimates dept! But I walked in assuming I was a 44DD and left wearing a 38H Elomi. The girls were up, no side spillage, my waist was at last visible and folks immediately thought I'd lost weight!. Anyway I use Elomi bras for my everyday, they make the girls look amazing. But for workouts and Zumba where Jumping is on the menu, i need lots of support, so I choose Enell bras. You put them on like a vest and has about 20 snaps up the front so it's a bit of work to get into. But once you're in...those girls are locked and loaded.

Dance like nobody's watching!

I was a 44DDD and am down to a 38DDD but I've always liked Wacoal brand. They can be a little pricey but they last me 6 months and I noticed that the girls always stay in place. LOL!

My daughter, who is a 34 DDD, swears that no matter what sports bra she buys, she needs to wear TWO of them to be "armored up" against the jiggle. I am also a 44DD, and I have found that advice to be very helpful.

Can anyone recommend a good plus sized high impact sports bra? The bras I normally wear and love just don't seem cut out for Zumba!

I wear a 44 DD.

Thank you! emoticon
