I've been thinking about this question. I try to set my goals on a monthly basis. I would love to get in 1500 minutes of exercise each month (although I havent' done that in awhile). For my weight, I try to say I want to be at a certain amount of pounds by the end of the month.

I like your milestones plan. They look good.

How do you set your mini goals? I have one large goal in terms of weight loss: Lose 60-70 pounds. I have an ideal weight in mind but i've been overweight so long, I'm not sure of an exact weight. Prehaps as I get closer I will know.

My question, and I'm seeking comments and suggestions, is how do you set up your mini goals?

I currently have two models set up. One is focusing on lossing 5% of my weight, until I get close to where I want to be. This starts out about lossing 12 pounds, then 11 more pounds, then 9....so on and so forth until I lose the 70 pounds or get to were my body is healthy. This makes for 8 Mini goals or steps.

The second model is more Milestones.
Goal 1: Leave Obeseville (lose 21 pounds)
Goal 2: Enter Onderland (15 pounds)
Goal 3: Be a Healthly weight (20 pounds)
Goal 4: Last 15 pounds of so.

I'm not sure if I will even treat or reward myself for reaching the goal. Since I just restarted I haven't actually met one yet.

Which has worked best for you?

I'm changing me!
