Congrats for getting back on track. Sometimes the most intimidating barrier is that first step. Good for you, Florida, and all the others that took that step.

I had labs on Monday. I'll find out where I stand on Friday. I had a bit of a cheat day yesterday but today is planned out. The trick is to stick to my plan and not give in to the tempting treats hubby offers. He made a "healthy" mug cake last night. Maybe so, as he used stevia and healthy ingredients. After I ate it he revealed the icing had butter in it. I had already had my quota of fats for the day.

I refuse to shame myself, but make today a real good day. You do the same. emoticon emoticon

One month back into a healthy eating plan. I went back to the doctor for bloodwork. The results were better than last month. I still have some work to do, but things are definitely going better, so I'm motivated to keep at it.

Hello everyone. Hope you are enjoying your day. It is a beautiful on here on the east coast of Florida. We were in the pool this afternoon. Getting some much needed exercise!
I've been on and off here so many times. Determined not to quit with the never ending battle of weight loss. I've been having a great week though with making right choices. Guess it is a matter of getting good habits to kick in.
Where are the rest of you from? I'm originally from Maine, but we moved down here in 2013 and now live along the Indian River on the border of Brevard and Indian River counties.
I love having February being a warmer month than what I grew up with in Maine---snow, snow and more snow! Loving being retired down here. Eileen

I've also recently come back to spark people. I fell off the wagon for a while. A recent call from my doctor (on a SUNDAY) to tell me my blood work was really out of whack, is a good motivation to get back on the program. We can do this! Stay motivated!

I agree some of the concoctions can be pretty nasty tasting. How ever some are so worth it! Ya dont know until you try them.

Well, mid-week already! How time flies! I better get on the ball if I want to have a loss this week. I sort of "blew it" yesterday with some lousy tasting carb control ice cream. Next time, if I want some ice cream I'm going to have the real thing, only in a smaller portion. At least it will taste good! Some of these concoctions are just plain awful!

Have a great day!

I "weighed in" with my 2 good friends yesterday morning. We have been getting together for about 14 years now and it's about friendship as well as trying to keep our weight in check. I'm sure I would be much heavier today if not for the friendship and also, being accountable to someone other than myself! :) I had a small loss yesterday, so hoping to be much more consistent this year without any starvation diets!

Best wishes to everyone on this Team!

Hi Everyone,
I have not been on Spark People for awhile, but thought I'd try to start the New Year right and try to make a little progress on my weight loss goals. The holiday's always seem to add a few extra pounds to a persons waist line for some strange reason.

I'm from Arizona and have about 30 pounds I'd like to loose. Hoping to make some new friends here and get more fit in 2021!

Best wishes to everyone.

Good morning. It will be another lovely day today as we begin the month of December. I wonder if this month will be the beginning of the end of the pandemic. The vaccine is looking promising and so hope we see some end to the madness. I canít believe how lucky we are not to have snow on the ground and temps in the teens at this time of the year. Maybe that is a good sign. Yesterday I did get some laundry done and baked a loaf of bread. I walked a little and had 3,317 steps for the day. All in all it was a good day. Hailley will see the vet on Thursday for her culture.. Hope you all have a great day.

Rose, don't give you on your goal as you will get there. We all have those don't feel like it days. I know I have my share.

We got my front yard cleaned up yesterday. Saturday Pete blew all the leaves off my roof and porches (front and back). Yesterday he was raking leaves off the lawn, then everyone bagged them until we ran out of bags. Jamie went for bags and I cut up downed limbs. A couple big ones must have fallen during the night, because I only saw a medium one when I left here on Saturday to get dog food (free bag), good and craft supplies. In the afternoon Saturday I took cat food that didn't agree with Orzo to someone and took Annie with. She got to play with my friend's dog and they were really having fun chasing each other all over the yard.

Today is supposed to be warm again so I am going to do what I can out in back. A friend is supposed to be coming this afternoon to help. Mainly need his big truck that has an open back (mine has a shell on it) to put trash cans of cut up limbs in, but also help in cutting the limbs in some cases. Tomorrow will be much colder, so I won't want to be outside working, but we might have to wait until then to take the limbs down to be mulched. I think they are closed on Mondays.

Good morning on this first day of the week. Only 4 more days to Thanksgiving. It is 19 degrees and will be a mostly sunny day and in the low 30s today. I am not sure if it will be windy or not. I am going to do some small chores around the house today and get my body moving. I might even try some walking. Yesterday I must have been moving more or maybe it is just that the breathing is better but I did get about a 1,000 more steps than the day before. I really didnít have too much to show for the day but that is okay as my body is healing. Hope today is a good day for all.

Hi Ladybug. sorry about the pain in the shoulder and hope it heals quickly. Is it arthritis and weather related or something else?

Good morning. It is 30 degrees this morning with a light breeze. It is supposed to be partly sunny and about 40 degrees. We are having very nice weather for this time of year My son went over to the drug store yesterday to see what the status was on my prescription and finally was able to get it. It is sad when you canít get an antibiotic when one is needed. I rested most of yesterday and son had cooked a turkey dinner so he brought me a care package and had a nice turkey dinner. It was so good. I will have to see how I do after I do my nebulizer treatments this morning to decide what will get done or if I need one more day of rest. I really hope I feel like get some moving around today because I am tired of sitting. Hope you all have a good day today.

Darlene, I have never had to have an antibiotic pre-approved by my insurance company but that is what was needed. Sounds like it has something to do with Covid.

KSTRYTH, I also have lots of things that need doing but am able to turn the head and not see it. Good job on the weight loss.

Hello, Hello!
I always have a long list of house and yard work I don't get done. I've developed a weird amnesia and calm with a sort of cartoon character female frumpy "what me worry" attitude but I really would like the projects, yard work and house things to be done. sigh. I have hired helpers before but the quagmire is so tangled up with useful, ongoing thingamajigs that the end is never on the horizon. All the same, life is good. The sun is shining. The dog is healthy and I've lost a little weight this month!

That seems rather stupid that they won't let you have the antibiotics without talking to the doctor after the doctor was the one to prescribe it.

I have stayed in all day except to take Annie out a couple times. It was nice earlier, but the last time it was cold and felt like it might snow, though it isn't supposed to. I had to sit in front of the space heater when I came in. I've been doing some work on my crochet project and a little on the computer. Again I haven't gotten stuff done in the kitchen or in here. I have to get at it.

It is another Friday and we come to the end of a work week for most. Hope it has been a good week for you and that you will enjoy your weekend. It is going to be a light rain/snow day here. Yesterday was a total loss for the day. I did email my doctor and he prescribed the prednisone and antibiotic round for me and low and behold my drug store called last night to tell me they couldnít deliver the antibiotics because my doctor had to talk to someone regarding Covid before they could approve the drug. It is sad when something stops a person from getting a antibiotic when needed. I sure hope that I get it today. Well enough of that. I will try to see if I can get some things done today. Breathing is pretty rough so not sure how much. Hope you all have a great day.

I tried starting on another Christmas present last night. This one for a girl I think is 4 1/2. Her little sister I will be doing one for, too. She will turn 3 next month. At least I think that is their ages. The oldest I think is going to be 10. The beanies I've been making I think will fit her and have the color she likes. If I have enough yarn I will try to make some mittens to go with, though that might seem a little young for the oldest girl. Anyway, havig problems with the cap I just started. The number of stitches kept going up. I think I have it going okay now.

/I also took an online class today on making star coasters. I want to make them ornaments, though. I took a class the other day for fixing some sweaters, too. I got the knitting needles to do the kind of repair I liked. Now to get the yarn. One I think I will take the yarn from the sash that came with the sweater. I got to wear that sweater maybe twice before it got a hole in it.

Hadn't paid attention to those trackers before. I wish I could get just halfway down to there. I can't get under 190 no matter what I do. Then this pandemic came along and I think I am depressed or something because I just can't stop eating so that isn't helping at all.

Another week that has just flown by. It is already Thursday and I have nothing to show for this week. I guess I better get up and get moving so I will have something to show for it. It was a lovely day yesterday and today we might have some rain showers. Hailley is doing fine and I am going to do just fine also. It is looking good for the vaccine to be ready soon and that is so good. Hope you all have a great day,

We had a cloudy morning and sunny afternoon today, but it was starting to cool down when I went out with Annie. Since she only ran a little and was just sittinng I decided it was okay to come back inside. It is cooling a little each day the rest of the week, but at least not like it did before.

They have really cut down on the amount of people who can go to church, closed restaurants to indoor dining (can still do outside and to go, but have to shut that down by 8, like time makes a difference), and have declared no Thanksgiving. I did get my turkey and stuff, so I will fix everything here.

The governor said he would like to keep in-person schooling if possible, but the school districts are all going to remote anyway.

Good morning. I woke to a warmer morning at 34 degrees but it is windy. It will be mostly cloudy but near 50 today so I sure will take that kind of weather any day. Thanksgiving is creeping up on us and it will soon be time to start decorating for Christmas. As the covid numbers keep increasing I am wondering if we will have the vaccine by then and how many people will take the vaccine. It will be an interesting time. Not sure how much testing they are doing on those with compromising health issues. I will wait until my doctor thinks it is safe. Yesterday was a fairly good day. Not a lot of steps but I did move more and that is what counts. Hope we all have a great day.

Things are getting worse here too. It sounds like they might have the schools go back to home/online schooling soon.

I didn't get anything done today other than some shopping. Got a turkey breast and some sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving if I am stuck here alone. They are going to code red here, closing down all indoor dining. The next step is they will be locking us in our homes except for necessary shopping like for food. Toilet paper is being hoarded again. They are limiting all purchases of toilet paper, paper towels, and hand sanitizer. I think that also includes dish detergent. It's getting hard.

Good morning. It is a crisp 10 degrees out there right now but no wind. Just a light breeze and it is supposed to be sunny today. It will get to 30 today. I have cleaning plans for the day. Yesterday was a better day. I did get 4 loads of laundry done and did some small chores around the house. Hailley is finally finished with her liquid medicine and will finish another one today. Then we will only have the pain meds left for another week. I will be glad when it is all done. She is doing good and seems so much more comfortable. Life is good and hopefully we have a vaccine just around the corner and next year will look so much better. Have a good day.

We've had a warm couple of days the last couple. I have been working on cutting up the limbs that have been in a pile in my yard and a lady came today and picked up what I got cut up for her to use in the fireplace. I also added some pine for the scent. She thought she was getting a small amount, I guess, because she brought 2 reusable shopping bags, but those weren't big enough. I hope what I gave her will be good enough.

Orzo must be allergic to something around here. He reached his nose up to Annie after we came inside and immediately started sneezing and sneezed a lot during the afternoon.

Hope everything is going okay for everyone.

Sorry I missed yesterday but it was one of those days. Got busy with computer general maintenance like virus scans and disk clean-up and those sort of things and didnít get on much yesterday. It is a brisk windy morning with light snow showers here in MN and doesnít sound like it will get much warmer at a high of 33 and will remain windy. Not my kind of day. Tina got groceries yesterday and I got a few little things done but not an exciting day. Hailley is doing well so far and that is the best news for me. Hope everyone has a great day.

I did get my license renewal ordered this morning. I hope it doesn't take too long to get them.

It got warmer today and tomorrow is supposed to be colder again. I need to get out early tomorrow to get Annie down for her rabies vaccine. They start at 10 and have sign in at 9:30. Guess if I am too late for that I can go over to Murdoch's. They start at 1 there but it's farther away.

I need to find a place that doesn't get too crowded that Annie can play with another dog or a few. Maybe she will wear out some then. She scared me half to death a little while ago attacking a ball with tug-o-war rope through it. It is something I got for Cassie, but she didn't play with things.

It is Friday and going to be a fair day today. Just a little warmer in the upper 30s and cloudy. It is 13 degrees now so it is a cold morning. I am feeling fair this morning so hope to get a few things done. Hailley is improving more every day and the antibiotics seem to also be helping the skin. She gets a hair cut tomorrow so will see how she looks. Only 4 more days of the liquid med and that will be over. She really hates it. It smells like bubble gum so shouldnít taste so bad but she is different. Yesterday was not a good day so not too much accomplished. I did give Hailley her bleach bath and do a few things but nothing to jump up and down about. Oh well, I am sure not going anywhere and no one will be here to see so it will be all right. LOL. Have a great day.

Hope that you can get your tags by internet and not have to go out and wait to get in.

It was still cool today, but not so cold as what you got. My jacket I got last year hasn't been keeping me warm, so I got a new zipper to put in the old one. I hope I can manage that. Also got some yarn to try the mittens with. The pattern doesn't exactly say what kind of yarn to use. I finished my 5th beanie this morning. I need to find a pattern to make caps that are without the pompom at the top.

I went to get my truck license today, but got there about 5 minutes affter they shut off who could get in. Actually, they had people waiting outside. That place has never been crowded, so I didn't expect the crowds today. People must have gotten bored with the pandemic restrictions and gone out and bought cars. I am going to see about going ahead and getting my license through the internet. It's just the tag that goes on the plate, so shouldn't be a problem.

Good morning on this cool 19 degree morning. It might get to 27 for the high today so we are really into fall now. I am ready for anything and hope the winter is not a real tough one and a short one. It is time for us to have a nice winter. If we have to be secluded it would be nice if it wasnít terrible. Hailley finally had a quiet night and she slept with me from 9:30 till 4:30 this morning without moving so I got a good nights sleep also. She doesnít seem as restless today either. It was really bad all day yesterday but now she has all her treats back so feels things are normal. I am hoping to get back to some walking today and a little housework. It will depend on my breathing which seems okay right now. Hope it is a good day for all of you.

They sure do have a lot of energy. Wish I had as much. LOL>

I think Annie feels like I am starving her. She isn't getting treats unless I am taking her for a walk and trying to teach her not to pull (tiny chewy ones) or to get her in the crate when I have to go somewhere. She gets a half cup of food morning and evening and a spoon of pumpkin and some green beans. For her size and excitement all the time it seems like she just isn't getting anything. I have given her a baby carrot, but she preferred to play with it. She did eat it though.

We went after some cat grass for Orzo and Annie was so excited, pulling me through the store to see things, pulling over to the kids in the store, and the worst was pulling over to meet the other dogs to try to play. She did get to one of them and they started playing and getting tangled up. You would think she was a puppy less than 2 years old instead of what she is supposed to be at 5. She totally wore me out, but when we got home she wanted to play fetch in the house. I even have her football in the chair with me.

Still being too cold to go for walks, even though the temperature was warmer. It was breezy, and that is a cold breeze.

Good morning on this nice mid-week day. I am feeling like it will be a good day and want to thank all of you who expressed their concerns for Hailley and me. She is doing so much better and is once again her normal pain in the behind self. She had me up three times last night thinking she had to go out so she could get a treat. She is missing her regular treats because I felt maybe it was better to hold them because they might be a little harder to digest. I give her raw carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and things like that. She thinks she needs those and so I guess I will have to start her back on them with just a little piece so things feel normal to her. I did a little around the house yesterday but not a whole lot. I was still pretty tired and wired from the weekend so tried to relax and loosen up. Today I will start to move more. Thank you again and have a great day.

Aren't pets just grand. Between the cost to keep them healthy and the special care they need I sometimes wonder why a person would have them. LOL. I guess it is the love and enjoyment they give back.

I'm glad Hailley will be okay. That sounds like what Annie had before I got her. Clark gave me her meds and said she just ate them with her food, but she didn't when she got here unless the wet food was added and put over the pills to hide the taste. That worked fine, though, but Annie gained weight with it. Now I still have some of the wet food I got for that, but can't really give it to her since it makes her gain. She is getting pumpkin and pre/probiotics to help with things. Still has a fairly soft stool and I think I will need to get the stuff for anal glands.

The Pet Food Pantry gave me some kitty litter called Yesterday's News. It is pellets and does nothing to help with the smell, so it really stinks in here. It is also supposed to absorb better, but it isn't so Orzo stinks, too, and he is on my lap. The entire bag just about dumped into the litter box, so I have to find some way to get most of it out so I can haul the litter box outside and dump it.

It's been cold and I don't think it got to the predicted 45 today. Hopinng it warms up tomorrow.

Good morning. It is a great day as Hailley did come home and is on the mend. They found she had a bowel infection and was in some very heavy pain from stomach and so they gave her some nausea meds, antibiotics and pain meds. She is getting slowly better and they said the heart and lungs were great for her age and the did give her some fluids because she had a little dehydration. I was so happy but she is kind of mad at me and she is pouting. I need to have my son get me some marshmallows so I can give her the meds because she is really not easy to give them to. She wonít take them and canít open her mouth to get them down her. Just happy to have her home. Needless to say I didnít get anything done yesterday but today is another day and I had a much better sleep last night. Hope we all have a great day.

It is so funny when these animals want to play and the other isn't sure what is going on. I used to laugh at Hailley and Mia when she was alive. They didn't get along for over a year and were just finally starting to try play together when I lost her. I think Orzo will figure it out eventually,.

Sharon, I hope that Hailley will be okay. It is so hard to see them feeling bad and you don't know why.

Annie is a little love. Orzo doesn't always think so. You know how dogs will play with each other by jumping in and giving little nips. Well, she does that to Orzo and he doesn't like that at all. He thinks she is trying to hurt him. Then when he swipes at her to back her off, she thinks he is playing back, so it just keeps going until I have to stop her. She doesn't understand.

It is snowing here now. Supposed to get back to 40 or a little over tomorrow. Hope so.

Good morning. It has been a couple of tough days for me with my little girl Hailley. I thought for sure I had lost her on Saturday night. She was so sick and so uncomfortable that I was sure she was gone. She will see a vet today and I am not sure what they will do for her or if she will come home. I am so sad that this has happened and it has been so fast. I pray that it is something they can fix. I have done nothing for a couple days now so will check back later when I know more. Hope you have a good day.

Darlene your Annie sounds like a little love. I have been sitting here wondering what the vet will tell me in a little about Hailley.. So far it is good and she feels like she will be coming home so that is wonderful news. The only thing that could happen would be that her blood work could show something that isn't good. I will look at it with a positive attitude,

Sharon, you have a beautiful, positive attitude. That is so wonderful to see.

HungryWoman, I am with you on the lack of sleep. I think things would go a lot better if I could get the carpet cleaned in the bedroom where Annie went her first night here, but even though I now have the enzymatic shampoo I can't figure out how to get it in the little spot shampooer. I thought I was going to do so good and there isn't an opening anywhere.

Spent the last two days at my neighbors' garage sale in case they needed help (they didn't). After the lack of sleep, I get home and am too sleepy to get anything done. Annie spent both days outside while I was next door. Today she met the girls of the block (this end, anyway) and just loved them as far as I could see. She also loved anyone else that came along. She is much like my last girl in her loving everyone, but she is much more active.

Good morning to you all. It is another lovely day and I am feeling good about things. I did a few little things around the house yesterday and did two loads of laundry. It felt good to get something done. It was a nice day and it makes me feel energized when I can open windows and get the nice fresh air. Today I would like to get some more done and maybe even get some walking in. I need to get back into my walking. It has been hard for me to do it. Life will get better as each day goes by. This pandemic will end and things will soon reach a new normal. Hope you all have a great day.

Another sleepless night for me. I am going to try and adjust my routine so that I get the rest I need. I have been spending some time away from home. I think I need to return and get back into my routine which has been disrupted.

Still staying warm here for a couple more days. I got my tires and found out what needs fixed on the truck. I hope Danny will be able to do it. It would cost over $1000 to get it done at the garage and probably only a couple hundred for parts if Danny does it. I haven't checked on the cost of the parts. I did let him know what needs replaced, though. They got the tires in early, I guess, because by the time my friend got there to pick me up they were already taking my truck in. It still took until around 1:30 to get it finished, though. We went to IHOP and had breakfast. I haven't eaten the rest of the day except for a couple snacks. That only for taste cause I'm not hungry at all. Anyway, we didn't have to come home and just stayed and waited for the truck to be done.

Didn't do anything else today. I was too sleepy after I got home. Even fell asleep while on the computer.

Hope you all have a good evening.

Weather has been nice here also. Using the time to try and get a few projects done.
I am glad the round of Covid has been mild.

Stay healthy and continue to enjoy these wonderful fall days.

Have a good day all!

Teresa

Good morning. We are going to be blessed with another great day today as it will be near 70 again and sunny with no wind. Love these days. Yesterday got to 74 degrees. I was just plain lazy yesterday and didnít do a thing. I better get off my behind and get something done today. I canít keep saying that will promise myself to be productive today. It has been so nice to have windows open and have the fresh air coming in. It is official now that Tina, Jim, Mandy and Marshall and Mandyís boyfriend all tested positive for Covid but so far none have been too sick. That is a blessing and I sure do thank God for that. Tina will be able to go back to work next week. Hope we all have a good and healthy day.

Hope you get the tires changed and enjoy lunch with your friend.

We had warm weather again today and should for a couple more days. Annie's exercise today was running around in the yard until she was out of breath. I tried throwing the toy for her for fetch, but she was more interested in looking for squirrels and rabbits. I know that she is loving her cat brother, but Orzo gets a little afraid of her. After all, Annie is 60 pounds and about 21 1/2 inches or so. Orzo is a little guy at 6 1/2 pounds. I am pretty sure what happened the other night is she tried to get him to play and he ran downstairs because he got scared. When I was back around to protect him he came back up. I'm trying to keep Annie a little active even in the house by going ahead and tossing whatever she brings me so she doesn't bother Orzo.

I got my tires for my truck ordered today. I have 2 good ones on there and 2 that are almost bald, so really need them for this winter. Have to leave the truck at the shop tomorrow because they don't have the tires in shop and have to order them from the local warehouse. I am not sure what they have around there to get lunch at other than fast food, but I plan to take my friend to lunch while I am waiting.

Good morning. Yesterday was and absolutely beautiful day at 72 degrees with no wind and all sunshine. I had my windows open and fresh air coming in. It will be another day like that today. We will start to cool down again over the weekend and next week will bring colder weather and temps down in the 30s for highs. I will enjoy the warm temps now while they are here. I was able to move around a little more yesterday and did get a few things done. It felt good to be doing something. I hope today to be able to do more. Hope you all have a great day.

I didn't sleep much last night, either. I got my bath in, but heard a thunk while I was in there. When I got out I couldn't find Orzo anywhere. Finally found him in a hiding place downstairs. I was upset the rest of the night. He finally came up about 4 in the morning. I guess Annie frightened him somehow, maybe trying to play with him.

It was warm again today. I didn't take Annie for a very long walk, but a little one when we got back from the groomer where she got her ails Dremeled. It's funny, but they had her in the computer under me, but I hadn't talked to them since I got her. Then went and talked to a friend before we came home and took the short walk.

Hope we can get our sleep tonight.

Good morning. It looks like we will have another great fall day with temps in the 60. It will be sunny and not quite so windy. It is perfect weather. Yesterday I did get a few very small things done but rested the major part of the day. Tina and Mandy sound like they are doing well and still waiting on results of Marshall and Jimís covid tests. I am going to try and get some laundry done today and do some walking and hope it works out well. Didnít get a great sleep last night but will do as much as I can. Hope we all have a great day.

Sharon, I am sorry you are still having problems. I hope that today was good for you.

We had a really warm day today, I think around mid 70s. I didn't really know how warm it was and had on a long sleeved shirt when I took Annie for a walk. I changed before heading out to do some shopping I needed to do.

One of my patterns I want to crochet calls for a different size hook than the ones I had. Not that I didn't have the right letter size, but mine are a different mm size, to I needed to get the right size. So I got one with the ergonomic handle. Of course, it won't fit in my hook cases. I may have to make one that will fit those kind.

Today we start another work week and hopefully a better week all around. I would like to do some laundry today but time will tell as to how I feel. I am off the pain meds now and using just Advil so will see how it goes. It feels good to be able to take a deep breath again. It is supposed to be in the mid 50s today and sunny so sounds like a nice fall day. Yesterday was not good and it lasted until about 2 this morning when I was finally able to eat a little and go to sleep for a couple of hours. I am tired this morning but will work through that. Hope we all have a great day.
