Good morning. We are 2 above zero today and that is so nice. Yesterday was -21 so you can see why 2 above is nice. It will be cloudy and windy today but in the 20ís. Yesterday was another quiet day with 20 minutes walking and a total of 3,493 steps for the day. I am hoping that now that the storm fronts have moved on that my breathing will improve and I will be able to do more. I am tired of being so inactive and feeling drained. I think that I will make some bread today. I can have it with my leftover chili. Today is Hailleyís bleach bath and I think after this one I will try to go back to once a week with the bleach. Well, not much to say today so hope you all have a good day.

Irene, I have a small house and do all my walking around inside it. I just walk room to room and it works for me.

LittleRedHen, no I don't have a song going through my head and don't encourage one. I really don't want one. LOL.

Looks like I need to catch up on here. Not a lot happened really , itís cold and icy. I am only going out if I have to. Non exciting outings food shopping or medical appointments.
Main thing is I am still here. Waiting for better weather. So I can get out walking. I am sticking to my morning programme of exercises at home. I try to get in more steps just around my small one level home.
I try to stay positive and help myself to keep well as much as I can
Have a good day. Irene

Good morning. It will be sunny today with only a light breeze but will still be cold. Last day before it warms to the 20ís ad looks like no snow in the 10 day forecast. We are at -14 degrees now. Yesterday was a quiet day here with tough breathing and very tired day so didnít do much at all. My furnace stopped last night and had to call son to come and look at it. It restarted on its own so we changed the filter and hope that is all that is wrong with it. I had this happen once before. When it cools down it restarts. I know the fan is good because that went out last year so I have a new one and all my vents are clear so that is good. Hope it will keep working now.

Good morning. It is 2 degrees with temperatures dropping. The wind is blowing and we still have snow falling. There is no travel and interstates are closed so not a lovely day out there. I am sure glad that I donít need to be the one to clean up after or need to go out in this. Thank goodness for kids. Yesterday was nasty weather also but I did get 30 minutes of walking and had a total of 5, 132 steps for the day. I used my leftover beef roast and made some stroganoff and I sure do like it. Hailley continues to get better with each bath and I am so glad. I took her off the one treat I had added back in and will see if that helps. Will reintroduce after she has been clean for a while and see if that is a trigger. Seems like that is the only way to find out. I am hoping to get some of my dusting and polishing furniture done that I didnít get done the other day. Hope it is a good weekend for everyone.

Irene, I love to make soup and I like to freeze it too. It is so nice to have it when I don't feel like cooking and need something fast.

Hello on Saturday. Itís cold here in middle England but no snow yet this winter. Spring flowers are popping up too early. .
Itís a quiet weekend for me as my son is away till Sunday.
I am still trying to work out a regular meal plan that works for me. I do always enjoy my breakfasts. Thatís a good start to a day. Itís main meals I struggle with.
I am back into making soup. I am planning todayís soup I make at least a double amount and freeze it in portions.
Enjoy your weekend. Irene

Good morning. It is Friday and a storm day for us. It is 9 degrees with wind and we are setting up for a storm today. The winds are strong and it will start to snow this afternoon with about 3 to 5 inches of new snow. It sure doesnít seem to want to give us break with the snow. We sure donít need any more because it is hard to find any where to put it. Yesterday was bad breathing day caused by the weather so didnít get much walking in. I rested my body as it needed it. We will see what today brings. My son-in-law will get my groceries today before it starts to snow so that will be done. Jim is recovering from carpel tunnel surgery so he is not working at present time.

We also got WINTER here last night in 12-15 inches of snow and 5 to15 degrees F. Thankful for our snug warm home and hubby that finds joy in tractor plowing snow!!!!

Good morning. Brrr, it is -23 F. here this morning and not going to really warm up much. It will be sunny today with little wind so that is a plus. We did get almost 4 more inches of snow yesterday and more coming tomorrow. Sounds like it could be another storm with strong winds. Winter has been hard on us this year. I heard that last summer was the second hottest summer in our history and that this winter has been one of the coldest in a long time. We sure do know how to do things right here. Yesterday was a good day for me and I walked for 30 minutes and did a upper body aerobic video on youtube that was about 45 minutes of good exercise. I had a total of 7,541 steps for the day. That is the best I have done in a long time. It felt really good to do the video and will try to do it again tomorrow. I made a big crock pot full of chili for dinner and boy was it good. Hope you all have a good day today.

Linda, the picture is great and she is a real beauty. I am sure of how proud your are and so glad she is healthy.

Hello itís very early on Thursday. I canít sleep so came in here to chat.
Yesterday I went to a supermarket which always has a good fresh fish stock. I bought 4 different types of fish. I prefer fish to meat. The server was saying the fresh meats and fresh fish areas are losing trade and money Oh whys that ? Cost he said but the packaged and prepared meats and fish do sell. I found that sad , that we are losing people who can cook. They want instant meals. I hope the fresh foods sections stay open.
Breakfast ? When I was young I hated porridge made from oats think lumpy grey looking. I thought I would never eat it again but now I love the instant oats little packets with fruit in I bought two boxes of them yesterday. They fill me up and are good for me. I add blueberries or an apple maybe plus Soya milk .
So far my aim for three healthy meals daily and no snacks is working. I need to work on my mobility once I am settled on the food plan. How are you all dong ? Irene

Am ready to start my year's health goals now.
I am Happy and blessed!!!
Grand-daughter Sarah arrived a little before midnight the 7th. After a hard induced labor for Mama she was born perfect, shows a week or two early but doing fine - 6#5oz - she lost 8 oz the first few days but gained it back to birth weight by day 7 and I came home after sharing the golden first week with them.
Weight and blood sugars stayed stable and I am happy beyond any imagined JOY and contentment ideas I had!!! and see first family picture on my Spark Page.

I am ready to have a good day today. I want to get some cleaning done and I am going to really work on it. Yesterday turned into a wasted day as I was waiting for my oxygen delivery and didnít get anything done. I did walk for 20 minutes but only had a total of 3,728 steps for the day. Not a good number but today will be better. We are getting snow and it looks like it could be 2 to 5 inches and seems like it is really coming down right now. I think I should put a big kettle of chili on to cook for the day. I love chili and have everything I need to make it. Hailley is slowly improving and I am finding fewer bad spots on the skin again.. Today is a bleach bath again so will do that early. Have a good day.

Irene, I do have breakfast every day. It is a very important meal for me.

@ENGLISHNAN Thanks for sharing! I'm personally not a fan of biscuits, I like rolls, its just white bread made into a little ball form, then flattens.
Biscuits are made from flour, butter, egg, milk. Oats here is oatmeal. Do you make quick oats or cooked? I like the instant from pkg that your pour hot water maple and brown sugar flavor. Do you put milk on yours?
I go shopping with 86 year old neighbor Wednesdays. She runs circles around me! She's a 90 pound dynamo! She helps me do things. Gets cart for me to lean against while shopping, helps me unload groceries etc. It's hard doing things with 2 canes, and trying to balance and move things just using the 1.
We go to Thrift Shop, Sharp Shopper and Walmart. and wherever else we might need to add.

Day two of my new plan to eat heathy. I have health problems and I am an oldie so family and friends say oh eat what you want now. , I tried that but felt after having a few chocolates I was wondering why did I do that? Itís a few moments of enjoyment then hours of regrets.
My aim now is to feel and look better by the time I go to a family wedding at the end of
May. My mobility is limited but I do seated exercises , I am not ready to give up yet.
Re food name , Biscuits here are what you would call. cookies l
Not sure on your biscuits. I think they are a kind of dumpling or scone. Whatís in them ? It would be boring if we all ate the same.
Do you all eat breakfast.? I do think itís important to do so. , I have warm oats and fruit now for my breakfast itís filling and warming. Stay well. Irene

Good morning. It is cloudy today and temperatures are dropping. We will get some snow tonight into tomorrow. Yesterday was a little better day. I walked 20 minutes and had 5,228 total steps for the day. I did get 4 loads of laundry washed and folded and the other two need to be folded. One is still in the drier. Today I hope to get my furniture dusted and polished. I will work on it. It is also my night for dinner with Barb if my order is all in at Walmart. If not, then we will do it tomorrow. I also need to give Hailley her bleach bath today and get out a nd pick up doggie doo. That should keep me busy. I hope everyone is having a good day and feeling well.

@ENGLISHNAN Don't worry about the different food names. I'm sure they are common to lots others. We all have different terms for different areas also. Thanks for sharing! It's nice to see how someone does things from a different country! Very similar to here.
What do you call biscuits in your area? I thought that would have them. Grits is a different thing. I never had them, but not a corn meal fan.

Hello on Tuesday I am ok had c t scan yesterday. I do not get the results ,my doctor will.
Sorry I confused you with unfamiliar food names. Ciabatta is Italian bread. Avocado is a fruit.
We perhaps use French and Italian Words where you would use Spanish.
In one team I was in a dictionary was created of English to American words. I had no idea of what grits were or biscuits. I do now.
Usually I eat simple food.
The last of the Christmas chocolates were ate last night. No more temptations my plan now is three heathy meals daily. No snacks.
My breakfast is usually oats with fruit on.
Lunch this time iof year is soup and a sandwich. I am going to try to avoid bread and put salad with what ever was going on the sandwich, ham? Egg? Cheese? Chicken ? One of them not all.
Main meal usually at night . I plan to have fish as the main item but not sure yet what fish. Salmon maybe. I love all fish. Have a good day. Irene

Good Monday morning. I am feeling energized this morning and hope it continues. I have lots to get done. It is a little warmer again today but then will cool down again. Hoping that when we get through this cold snap that we will have a little warming trend. Yesterday was bad. I was unable to even move around and I contribute it to the weather and mucus build up. I finally cleared things out last night and that has sure helped. I think the only thing I did do was too give Hailley her bath. I am going to make today a better day. Hope you all have a good one.

Dee, sounds like you have enough going for you and are staying very busy. Good to hear from you.

Irene, it sounds like you and your son have a great setup and glad that it works for you. It is nice to have someone with you. Breakfast sounds like a good one. I never get out for breakfast and do love to go.

LittleRedHen, I didn't make any resolutions so I can't say that I stopped working on them. I do want to improve my exercise habits this year but will do what I can.

I read that most people have stopped working on new years resolutions by 2nd week.
If you made resolutions or set any goals are you still doing them or working on them?

@ENGLISHNAN Those aren't foods I'm familiar with. I'm glad you had a great time! Roast chicken sounds great. Had some the other day. Do you make a whole chicken and stuff it? Or just roast a couple of pieces?

Hello on Sunday. Yesterdayís breakfast was at an Italian restaurant. I had toasted ciabatta with avocado spread on, topped with a poached egg and seeds sprinkled over. Very tasty very filling. We didnít eat again till evening and just cheese and crackers then
Mike and I share a house , we each have our own room of course , he works as general handyman so is out most days. But he takes time out to drive me to appointments. We share chores, he loves cooking. We do eat together. And watch tv together mostly. But. If he goes out or has a phone call I i do not ask where you going? Or who called you.? None of my business. It works for us both usually . Heís divorced with no settled home ,
I think itís a roast chicken meal today. I will prepare the veg as itís me wanting veg.
Enjoy your day. Irene

I canít believe it is Friday already. The week has gone by so fast. It is going to get really cold now so I will add some clothes and stay inside and warm. I am glad that we are soon going to be into February because it is a short month and close to the end of winter. I am ready for some warming temperatures and nice sunshine with melting snow. It has been a long winter. Yesterday was not a good day as I was just plain tired and had absolutely no energy to speak of. I didnít do much other than give Hailley a bath and prepare a nice baked pork chop dinner with potatoes au gratin. Hope today is a better day and that everyone has a good one.

Hi Irene, so good to see you here. It is good to take it slow and build up as you can. I know that if I overdo it I seem to get discouraged and then don't want to do anything. I have copd so know what short of breath is like.

@ENGLISHNAN Hi! Glad to see you stopping by to chat with us!! I'll try to remember about you being 8 hrs ahead of us. It's always good to know that.
I live in country, but not in a town. Chilly morning here but warming to 40's with rain later on. Supposed to be in 50's over weekend. That's very warm for this time of year. Maybe I'll get to sit out and watch the birds this weekend.

Itís bright sunny and Very cold here in middle England. I live near Nottingham city in a small country town.
Re exercise I get breathless easily so have to start slowly. I start each morning with a few sit ups and toe touching while still sat up in bed. Then I swing my legs out sit on the bed and do stand ups without using my arms. I am taking it from there for now adding an extra exercise as I can
Food! I am not on a slimming diet but try to. eat healthily. I went off red meat some time ago I am not vegetarian. But I canít look at red meat. It just happened. I do believe in listening to my body. So I did that. I love fish and some chicken. Just had lunch, tomato soup, plus half a bread roll with salad and bit. of cheese on.
Some of the words I use may be different to yours but we will get there ,
Irene

Good morning on this cool Thursday morning. It is going to be windy again today and cooling off. We will all get through this winter. Yesterday was not a good day for me and so I walked 20 minutes and a total of 4,102 steps for the day. I was very tired and so slept a lot of the day. I think it was because my breathing was not good and that makes me tired. I felt that my body needed the rest day so I took it. I read quite a bit when I wasnít sleeping. I must have needed it because I had a very good night of sleep also. Hope today is better and that I can get something done, Hope you all have a great day.

LittleRedHen, I love it. My ex was the same way. I take each day as it comes and accept what I am able to do and never stress over what I can't do, It doesn't help to get worked up over it so I don't.

A chilly 14. Not -15 like @SHARONCAPPS, but cold for me. I'm glad that you got so much accomplished yesterday S. I can't blame Hailley for not liking the cold. Keep up the great exercise streak you have going!

What do you think of this?
My husband would tell his friends he was taking me out. That meant he was building a fire and cooking me hot dogs or something. It was a big joke with them. They knew he didn't go anywhere. We enjoyed sitting by a fire.

Good morning. It is cold here at -15 F. below zero. It will be warming some today but only to about 7F. It will be windy later so not a nice day,. Good thing I did my outside stuff yesterday. Yesterday I walked 30 minutes and had a total of 5,218 steps for the day and did get out and shovel some snow from in front of my garage and got the doggie doo picked up. Barb brought dinner last night and got my tree downstairs and took down the garlands so I didnít have to climb on a stool to do it. We had a good dinner and then we got a nice chat in before she had to go. Hailley doesnít like this cold weather. I sure hope you are all well and having a good day.

Here it is another Monday morning and beginning of a new work week. I am glad I donít have to go out to work anymore. Yesterday was so windy but the sun was beautiful and it warmed up into the upper 30ís. Today will be in the 20ís and then it is back into the colder weather. I will miss the nice temperatures but if we can have a little sunshine and no snow it will be okay. Every day is putting us closer to spring and I am looking so forward to that. I did walk 30 minutes yesterday and had a total of 5,148 steps for the day. I was not too active but still felt good about the steps. I hope to be more active today. Hailleys skin is slowly improving so that is good. Have a great Monday.

LittleRedHen, weather and barometric pressure certainly do have a lot to do with my breathing.

Bearslover, so sorry that you are having such a hard time. This time of year is hard on the healthy but those of us with compromised systems can really have a hard time with it. Just do what your body will let you do and I know it seems like nothing but as someone else with COPD, I know that it is tough and every little bit helps.

Afternoon y'all. I'm still alive, Thank God. Although lately, it would much better bc there would no pain or doctors. Don't worry I'm good. But this last month has been very bad for me.

Exercisin' is just stretchin' and that's about all my body can handle right now. I have been gettin' on here and doin' my daily thangs. I've been sleepin' a lot. Right now I'm in the hospital and not sure when I'm gonna get ta go home yet.
I found out I have RSV. Thanksgivin' it was a COPD flare and now this. Oh, Well this too shall pass. I Pray!

Sorry, I'm kinda sorta down, today. But it's been a hard time lately. My pain levels and activity levels have been bad lately. I also have pleurisy. One day I'll have ta tell y'all about the new hospital policies they have here. They are so crazy that I'm not sure why I come here. But it's where my PCP is.

I'm gonna go for now. Y'all have a geat day.

@SHARONCAPPS does weather trigger some of your bad breathing days?
Temp here is 33. With wind chill of 23. Not planning on going out anyways. Just my normal day of watching tv.

Good morning. It is Sunday and are at 34 F. this morning and we will see high winds gusting to 50 MPH. We might even see some sunshine. Yesterday turned out to be a very bad breathing day so I didnít meet my goal of 5,000 steps. I walked 20 minutes and had a total of 4,363 steps for the day. I did watch a little TV, did some reading and took a nice nap. It was a quiet day.

LittleRedHen, I agree that it does look bare. I will get my pictures and knick knacks back out and that helps to dress it up a little, I can still look at the lights on the tree until Tuesday when my daughter will take the tree downstairs.

Good morning. It is kind of hazy outside right now with sun trying to peak through. It is 4 F. but will warm to the mid 20ís today. I didnít snow but a small amount. It was enough to cover the sidewalks. I did walk for 30 minutes and had a total of 5,198 steps for the day. I got a few of the Christmas decorations put away and will work on some more today. Hoping to get a few things done. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Good morning. It is cloudy and we will have wind and a little snow today. It is not to bad temperature wise because it will be 27 degrees F. Yesterday I had my pulmonary breathing test and saw my pulmonologist and everything is the same so that is good news. He said to continue the walking and doing what I am because it is working. With severe copd he said that my walking is what has kept me stable. So many people with this severity of copd are going downhill instead of maintaining. I felt pretty good about that and the struggle of some bad days makes it well worth while and has it has given me the boost I need to try and do more. Yesterday I did get 30 minutes of walking and had a total of 5,101 steps for the day. I didnít have time to do much else. Barb brought dinner last night and we had a chance to get a good chat in and that was nice. Hope you all are well and have a good day.

Good morning. It is very slippery out there because we had freezing rain yesterday and that is not good. I have to go out today to my pulmonary doctor appointment and not looking forward to it. I think it would be good to have ice skates. LOL. A little warmer today and snow moving in again for tonight. Yesterday I did my 30 minutes of walking and had a total of 5,761 steps for the day. I made a loaf of rye bread that turned out delicious and a nice hamburger/egg noodle casserole that was very good. I seemed to keep moving because I was able to get to my 5,000 steps again so that was good. Hope everyone has a good day today.

Happy New Year and hope it is a good year. I woke up to struggling for air and thought it was going to be a bad day. I discovered that I wasnít getting any oxygen and when I found the problem every thing got better. I guess I was without oxygen all night but as long as I donít move it isnít too bad. Boy is that a relief. I didnít want to start the new year with a bad breathing day. Yesterdays breathing wasnít all that good but I did push to walk 30 minutes and to get a total of 5,137 steps for the day. I was happy to meet my 5,000 step goal. I know I wonít have 5,000 steps every day but I feel that every day I do is a plus for me. I need to change my mindset and accept that I can only do what is possible for my condition. I have things so much better than some others in this world. Hailley got her hair cut yesterday and her skin is not good but not as bad as I thought it would be. I can see what I am dealing with now and work on it. Hope you all have a good day today.

Linda, welcome to the group and there are a lot of chair exercises out there that will get your heart rate up and strengthen you muscles. I do a lot of them. YouTube has so many good ones for everyone and for all type of conditions. You might want to start there with some of th easier ones.

Well tomorrow is my first day to be with you girls - [?and guys?]
Determined to keep flexibility and enough mobility for daily actions of daily living
I got cardio clearance to have knee replacement if ortho Dr will agree to it and VA will authorize it so need to build up endurance and arm and lung capacity in the waiting time.
Here in Central Washington - near Canadian border, there is snow down fairly low on mountains but not right here in the valley - temps in the low 30s and spits and skiff of snow.

I have advancing neuropathy so not much feeling in lower legs and feet. Knees are a mess and need replacement but have been too cowardly to accept it until recently - now first grand baby is coming and I want to be able to play with her! I have some cardiac issues but got clearance general anesthetic for surgery so now am ready to talk with ortho Dr. I use one or two canes for walking anywhere outside of home.

Will talk with you more and begin to find an exercise mode for me. .

Good morning. It is clear and cold this morning. The wind is down so not a lot of blowing snow. I am all dug out now but there sure is a lot of snow out there. Yesterday I did pretty good. I got 4 loads of laundry done and walked for 30 minutes and had a total of 6,063 steps for the day, I felt better about it. We did have to cancel Hailleys haircut but she will get it today. She sure needs it. Her skin is bad again so back to the bleach baths. They sure seem to help. It will be easier to see what is what when she gets the hair cut. I sure donít know more I can do for her. I plan to sit back this evening and just relax to see in the new year. I will probably fall asleep before it comes. LOL. Have a Happy New Year whatever you do.

Good morning. Well the storm is winding down. We had over a foot of snow and there are some 4 foot drifts out there and the wind is still blowing. Some of the interstates are still closed and flights are cancelled. My son was over last night and did some clean up and will be back later today. He wanted to make sure that Hailley could get out the back door. Too Nice. I walked 30 minutes yesterday and had a total of 5,193 steps for the day. I would like to have a week where I was in the 5,000 steps a day. I guess we will see. I sure hope we donít see a lot more snow for a while because we are getting to where we donít have any where to put the snow. A good January thaw is needed so the snow will settle. We still have a long time till spring, I always love a good storm but not when we already have so much snow on the ground. LOL. Sounds like we will now start getting back into the colder weather. I am ready for this winter to end.

Karen, I am just fine. The snow is done and now it is just blowing and it is time for clean up.
Hope you are feeling better today and the IBS is under control.

Sharon...I sure hope you are ok in that blizzard.

I would be lying if I said it has been a great day. My IBS woke me up & then the weather makes it a high arthritis pain day. Oh ya, I cant forget the tooth ache. I napped on the couch this afternoon.

Tonight is much better. I found a movie on TV called BLACK & WHITE so I will Spark during commercials.

I took the garbage out & it is a warm rainy day in Ohio. Got up to 61 today.

Good morning. Here it is the weekend and it is snowing. It wasnít supposed to start till this afternoon but wow is it coming down. We are supposed to get up to 16 inches of wet snow and tomorrow the wind will come up along with the snow so it will be blizzard conditions through Monday, Doesnít sound good to me. I am glad that Tina got groceries for me yesterday. I got 20 minutes of walking yesterday and only 3,896 steps. It was a bad breathing day so didnít get much done. Today needs to be a better day. I will try do an exercise video to get a little more upper body exercise. Hope you all have a great weekend,.

Good morning. Well, my son-in-law was over and shoveled the snow for me so that is done again but we have a blizzard warning in effect on Saturday through Monday so some nasty weather ahead of us. They havenít predicted how much snow yet but hope it isnít too much. I am already tired of the snow and would like to see some green grass again. It has been a hard winter already. Yesterday I did 30 minutes of walking and had 4,349 total steps for the day. I didnít do anything but walk and my back is better today so that is good. I will try do a few small things today. I feel energized so I will take advantage of it while it lasts. LOL. Hope your day is good today.

Well, the big day is over and now we can sit back and relax until next week with New Years. I donít do much for New years. It has been a long time since I have made it till the ball drops so donít even watch. I like to just kick back and watch taped shows and catch up on the taped shows. We had a nasty layer of ice on the sidewalks and roads yesterday and then it snowed a little over an inch last night so it is dangerous walking out there. We might get a storm coming in over the weekend. Yesterday was great. I didnít do well with steps but did walk for 20 minutes and had 3,772 total steps for the day,. I ran out of air while at my daughters and thank goodness it was time to leave anyway so we left and I got home okay. Dinner was so good. There was so much food and it all was so good. Hope you all had a great day.

Karen, I have learned how to make aa very small size of my favorite salads and it is so good to have a couple servings to eat now and then.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FRIENDS

I got so busy yesterday that I forgot to check into Spark & lost my 300 plus streak.

Last night was party time at my daughters. The highlight of the night was seeing my DD receive her special person book from her granddaughter. Darian worked so hard to make the book & was looking forward to seeing happy tears from Grandma Tracey. She was not disappointed. BTW Darian got an A on her project.

Today we went for a Chinese dinner. I received so many gifts but nothing is more precious than time together with family & friends.

Sharon...did you enjoy your day with your daughter? I love salads but find living alone it is harder to have those special ones.

Hope you are all had a most blessed day as we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus.

@SHARONCAPPS I'm glad you are going to D's today! Have Fun!
I was told I had to be a certain weight for surgery. And sad to say--I've gained 20 more pounds because of not being able to get around and still eating. So it's worse than before on all counts!

MERRY CHRISTMAS may it be very Merry and Bright!!

Good morning and to all who celebrate this day have a very Merry one. We will get some snow tonight and maybe some icy drizzle first. I hope we donít get the drizzle. Yesterday was one of those days. I had my doctors appointment at 9:30 and everything is good so relief there. I then came home and made my salads for today and got some recycles out to the bin. My back was really bothering me by then so decided a nap was a good idea. I had a total of 3,212 steps for the day so not too good but much better than nothing. Today I hope to do better. I will be at my daughters with all the family today so that will be nice. Enjoy the day.

LittleRedHen, I am so sorry for that horrible pain. Is there a hip or knee replacement in the future or will you not go through that. My son-in-law just had both knees done. He is a letter carrier and he was also bone on bone. Do you do any upper body exercises,. I really need those as I get enough walking to help the lower body but my arms and chest muscles are very weak. I am trying to get in some upper body exercises with no weights. I have severe disc disease so the doctor recommended no weights.

@SHARONCAPPS I have bone on bone OSTEOARTHRITIS (OA) in my hip and knee. Very painful all the time. I know they say exercise helps-but this is very painful. Exercise does not help. So that's why I try to not be on it at all. I usually just keep it to myself. Thanks for listening. It's terrible not to be able to even walk out in my yard because of pain and worrying about falling.

LittleRedHen, I am not sure what type of aches you have but I do know they say that exercise can help the pain from arthritis and other type pain. Maybe start slow and go from there. I have a nice chair yoga that is quite gentle that I like to do. It is good stretching and breathing exercise and relaxing. I found it on youtube.

Good morning. It will start to cool down a little today but not too bad. We are now in count down mode with Christmas just a couple days away. I will boil my eggs and get some of the stuff ready for my salads today. Yesterday was a little tougher day but I still got 30 minutes walking with a total of 5,121 steps for the day,. I made some potato soup to go along with my rye bread and it was so good. I did watch some tv and read some and took it a little easier for the day. Hope this is a good week. Enjoy your Monday.

Good morning. It will be another lovely day with temps in the 30ís. I will take every one we get. Our days will now start to get longer and the winter will start to fade into the past. I am already looking forward to spring and getting back outside. We usually have a lovely January thaw where temps get in the 40ís and I am looking forward to that. Yesterday was a good day with 30 minutes of walking and 6,076 total steps for the day. I did make it into the 6,000 numbers and that sure feels good. I baked a loaf of dark pumpernickel bread and made some great baked pork chops and potatoes au gratin. It was so good and kept me moving during the day. I also got the recycles and garbage out to the bins. I hope that I can have as good a day today. Enjoy your Sunday.

Good morning. It is going to be a great day today. It will be sunny, no wind and in the 30ís. I canít ask for more than that. Yesterday was a good day with 30 minutes of walking and a total of 5,200 steps for the day. I didnít do much of anything but small chores around the house. Tina got groceries for me so I didnít have to go out. I have everything now to make the salads for Christmas dinner and will start that on Monday. I have several things I would like to do today so hope that I can get them done. I do want to make some rye bread. Hope you have a great day.

LittleRedHen, everything upsets my breathing but we need to keep moving to keep healthy so I go slow and do what I can. There are so many chair exercises that still get the heart beating faster but don't put so much stress on my breathing as if I were standing. It all helps.

Good morning. Some fog this morning but will turn into a nice day with temps at about 19 F. with sunshine and no wind. Today I would like to do some light cleaning. More putting things away and straightening up than actual cleaning. Yesterday was a pretty good day. I did 30 minutes of walking with a total of 4,408 steps for the day and also did a 25 minutes chair yoga video. It was so good to do that little bit of extra exercise. I enjoyed being able to do it off of the tv because it gives a good size viewing area to work from. My next video will be a cardio workout that I used to do if I can find it. I sure hope I can because I loved the workout and it wasnít one that was too hard on my breathing. Hope that you all have a great day today.

Good Morning... It is 20 degrees & sunny in Ohio.

I am on my second cup of coffee & my new keurig is doing a good job of making it the way I like it. When I read the start up directions I figured out why my old machine is not working. My great grandsons love to make hot chocolate which is great but I forgot to run a clean-out cup of hot water after the chocolate. The needle must be clogged with cocoa. I did the descaling process but still not working right. I will continue running hot water & maybe it will eventually unclog.

It is a pretty uneventful day at my place which is okay with me!

Good morning. It will be a little warmer today and that sounds so good. It will be partly cloudy and in the 20s. Yesterday was not quite as active. I walked for 20 minutes and had 4,235 total steps for the day. I did get the bathroom cleaned so am happy about that. I spent a lot of the day waiting for the person who delivers my oxygen to come so I could help him with the door. I like to be able to open the door for him so he doesnít have such a hard time getting the tank in. Today I hope to get more done and get my steps back in the 5,000 figures. Hope you all have a good day,.

Sharon... I love having those restarant left overs.

I think I am rested up from those grandsons! They are 12 & 8. The oldest has ADD & can be a challenge when he is with his spoiled little brother.

Not sure what I will do today. Plenty to do around the house. I have a few Christmas cards I need to get ready to send.

We have a small country store near by that has a yearly big candy sale. They have all kinds of candy from the past & you just put as much as you want in each bag. I loved getting chocolate for Panthea. I may visit them again this year & give candy to some of the other residents of the home.

One of my granddaughters heard that my keurig was acting up. I have been using an older machine that I had stored just in case I needed it. Kelli was concerned it might have gotten moldy on the inside. Guess what? This morning a new keurig machine arrived from Amazon. I will get it ready for some hot chocolate later today.

Stay warm everyone
