I have now been on HMR Program for 6 months and am down 92 pounds. About 45 more to go. Also learning to eat correctly. Filling up on filling but lower calorie foods. Support from HMR makes this possible. It is hard but Ive now found out that it is possible. Now that I'm in Phase 2 of the program I'll also keep this group informed as an additional control for me.

Traveling this week which is more difficult but walking and eating right makes me feel sooooo much better

Been at this again for 8 weeks, See improvements but not measurable until this week. Finally saw 2 pound drop over the last 10 days. I need to know that this is working and keep at it.

I have been gaining or losing about five pounds per month, depending on if I am doing stressful work or not.

Stressful work means bad eating habits and less exercise.

I have lost 29 lbs in 10 months and stayed at the same weight for two months + or -. I started at 144 ls and now I hover around 115 - 117. My goal was 25 lbs so I am very happy. I still want to chisel away another 7 if possible but it's not necessary. My nurse practitioner feels I am okay at my current weight but she has not seen me naked or carried the 7 lbs I see in my butt and hips.
Bust 34 "
Waist was 29.5 and now 26.5 - would like to see 26 or 25.
Hips were 39-41 and now 35.5.

I love SP and there has never been a better diet, program or method in all my 40+++++yrs of trying to loose that works as well as SP! emoticon

I'm now in a slower and steady phase. Still loosing, but not as quickly as when I started (in earnest) last Oct. But still at it and still see progress, but not as fast.

I tend to weigh in daily just to see the effects of what I do. I do know that there are lots of factors outside my control. I only record weight each Saturday morning.

The common wisdom is to weigh in weekly.

However, I have been finding that daily weighing has helped me see the specific tie between each day's activities and my body's reaction.

What do others think about the optimal use of the scale and "charting" weights?

Hi I'm new to the message forums. Haven't stepped on the scale for a week due to feeling frustrated with the scale not budging much. but i did just start tracking food at end of june. that really was an eye opener! even on days i felt that i was real "good" i still really went over.

you guys seem real supportive of one another emoticon so that's awesome.

one thing i'd like to point out to a lot of folks is that weight varies greatly, with water weight and muscle mass. i found it really eye opening to get my body fat percentage tested. that made me focus less on the scale and more on how i feel!

Eat food, not too much. mostly plants.

The body was not meant to sit. We are made to move!

great job everybody...I am still not going down, stuck at 266 but trying real hard...I know the key is excercise and putting myself first but when you gotta pay the bills you tend to forget about who you are and worry about who you'll be...LOL

I got discouraged when I went in for my 6 month cholesterol check and my number had risen so much that I had to go back on meds. sooo frustrating! I haven't been as enthused to 'behave' since then. oh well...

This is only my 3rd day on the diet, and my bra is already feeling loose. I have been pulling my bra straps up all day. I know that this is probably due to the increase in water consumption, and less bloating, but man does it feel good.

whats up fellow Lexington sparkers, I am back and ready to go. Just joined weight watchers with a spark buddy of mine, Debra, and we are sparking and going to finally get fit 4 life. weighed in today my first day at 266.4....ugghh! can't believe I have let myself get this bad. will weigh in today for the first time in two months, scared of what I will see but I gotta get going again, been off the wagon now for too long. No more denial. Knees have been hurting but learning other excercises I can do just gotta do them.

Had a doctor apt. today for my 6 month cholesterol check and weighed in at 194 on his scales. YEAH! Now hopefully my numbers will still be within the good range for my cholesterol level so I do not have to go back on medication.

Re-sparking now after a faulty start last fall, taking small steps, of course.

I was encouraged today after meeting Hawaii100106. We're in about the same boat weight-wise and lifestyle-wise -- husbands who love to munch in front of us and teenagers at home, even similar dogs.

I hope to meet more of you Lexingtonians. Kyrrdis and Hepatiax were the first ones I met at my first SP meeting. We all work with/for doctors and we're all writers, so that was a lot of fun to talk about.

For those of you who've thought about coming to a meeting, I highly recommend it. The Spark People I've met are cool and interesting folk.

I have held in the mid 190's since the new year began but since I haven't gained back any of the 40# I lost in the fall, I am content to maintain for now until I get the push to loose that amount again (which is part of my long term goal)

I was diagnosed with lymphedema and I put on 14 pounds in a week. They gave me 2 shots of lasiks, and I lost 6.2 pounds in one day. Then I weighed in this morning, and I went from 331.4 to 335.1. I weigh in with my weight watchers group "encouragers" tonight, so hope it goes down.

Great job on the weight loss ladies.

I joined SP last year, but didn't stick with it. I am totally rededicating my life to live healthy and finally lose this "baby weight"(eight years later!)

The time before this that I tried to lose weight I asked the dr. to prescribe phentermine (adipex) to help suppress my apetite. I was coming out of a pretty deep depression at the time and weighed in at around 225. I did lose a lot of weight, and very quickly, but I didn't learn anything. I would be eating 900 or 1000 calories a day and working out so I lost 45 lbs in four months. Of course, when the dr. pulled my prescription, I gained back 17 because I hadn't kicked my old habits I just quieted them down by taking a pill every morning. When I saw the scale was almost back to 200 I called my doctor to schedule a check up, started surfing the web and came across Spark People which I promptly joined. Today is my 20 pound anniversary since I've joined and because I've worked so hard to get to this point, and because I actually have some tools to back me up when bad habits try to creep back in, I think I'm going to get to my goal this time and maintain it. I'm not saying don't take the medication that will keep you healthy and lower your risk for future heart problems but this path that you're on is good one. Just keep on keeping on and don't get discouraged.

It's great to fit into smaller pants, isn't it? You're doing way better than I am.

Went back to the doctor today... my cholesterol is still 225 (highest was 256), and my HDL was 36. The doc says that I'm obviously losing weight and exercising, but sometimes this stuff is genetic. I'd like to avoid meds, though.

down 2 pounds and 1.5 inches - even better though is that I'm officially out of my size 16 pants and into 14s.

Weighed in yesterday with no progress. one pound gain. very dispiriting; but will continue on. Our hospital spark team has its first meeting this monday - should be interesting. emoticon

Missed Wednesday's cardio and strength! emoticon Did them Thursday instead, so feeling better...slept great Friday... it's really true that you do sleep better and feel better at the end of the day if you get in some exercise.. emoticon

Calf Raises with Chair 1 set of 15
Calf Raises with Wall 1 set of 15
Calf Rocking with Chair 1 set of 15
Calf Rocking with Dumbbells 1 set of 15
Seated Leg Extensions 1 set of15
Wall Squats 1 set of 15
Airplane Pose 1 set of 15
Stretch After Strength Training

I gained and went up to 329 yesterday morning, but I drank my water and ate my calories and worked out and lost fivee of the 6 I gained. I now weigh 324.3.
