I haven't been camping since I was a kid. No, we don't really have anything planned. We do go back to office this coming Monday after Easter though. Been over a year, minus a couple weeks in August they tried.

It is very odd. You'd think we'd have the market. How was your weekend? Have any plans for Easter? Here the tradition is camping at the beaches for the long weekend (Good Friday and next Monday are a holiday) and last year people didn't get to do it because of covid. I don't like camping so I shall be chilling at home emoticon . It looks like Brunch will be a big thing too as I see lots of places advertising, I will also be skipping that.

That is strange you can't find those there. My Hubter boots are blue. We get rainy season in feb/March and oct/Nov here in TX

I've been looking at that brand! I'll have to order online because strangely enough despite living in a place with a rainy season no one sells rain gear here except for the big plain black worker rubber boots and the one size fits all ponchos. If I had the capital I definitely set up a pop-up rain geat shop for the rainy season.

I definitely have some good rain boots, I have Hunter brand rain boots.

It was a nice day today, the wind made it a little chilly though. My husband has to leave the state for work for 8 days, flying out tomorrow. I will be lonely.

That's good you don't have to worry about wind at lease! Last year we lucked out and didn't get direct hits from storms but we got brushed by a tropical storm and it caused tornadoes so I'm just going to be anxious all season because if nothing comes for us directly we can still get damage. I also need to get some tall a** boots because we got flooding from the rain and most of the road and front yard and driveway were underwater, luckily we could push the cars back enough onto higher ground that they didn't get flooded and our house was high enough too o.o.

Yeah, TX set record lows and it was miserable. Thankfully we had no pipes burst or house damage, just suffered in cold with no electricity at my house. I'm glad spring is starting to show up.

When hurricanes hit the gulf, we are far enough north we just get the rain. I have seen that rain cause a lot of flooding here though.

He should have slept on the couch emoticon .

I was following the news in Texas last week! It was crazy, I'm glad you guys made it through! I hope you don't have something like that happen again.

I just read this morning that climate change is weakening the Gulf Stream which means stronger hurricanes will affect the US and I assume the Caribbean so that's just awesome. NOT! I need to order hurricane shutters and other supplies, I want to actually be prepared before hurricane season starts.

Here in Texas we had record low Temps last week, we went without power for three days and it was below 0. Definitely nothing I would like to repeat ever. Last wee hit in my top 5 worst things I've lived through.

I'm sorry that Biofreeze is expensive, icy hot is not a bad alternative though. I'm sleepy this morning, tried to sleep on couch, but hard a hard time. Hubs was really restless and kept kicking me awake in his sleep.

The heat helped! My back is no longer hurting I just need to get back into doing the resistance band exercises. Biofreeze is great but so pricey, I usually get IcyHot.

We started swim training and did day 2 of swimming this past Sunday. MIL is worried about completing the race within the cutoff time but I keep telling her not to worry about it and she'll be fine. Just focus on swimming. My friend and I are trying to get her in the ocean but she is stubborn and sticking to the pool for now.

I've been doing the resistance band workouts and noticed a difference (less back pain) but two days ago I guess I went over too long brushing my dog and now my back hurts to the point I couldn't sleep well so now I'm taking pain killers and need to apply heat. darn it all. on good news registry for our 1-mile sea swim is open and I, my MIL, and my best friend have signed up :D.

How you been?

The struggle is real! My back has reminded me I need to move more as it HURTS. So I'm going to TRY to do a few resistance band exercises daily. Try being the operative word.

We've started using the oven and it makes the house hot so...not sure about using it now lol.

Happy New Year's Everyone! We are 19 days so how are you all doing? It is a nice breezy day today so the weather is cool. We got gas installed yesterday so now we can use our new gas oven (got the oven back in October). And I can finally bake/roast large things in the oven and not rely sole on our toaster oven. I can't wait to batch cook some meatballs.

For fitness I am going a Fitness Blender 30 day program but I'm not aiming to do all the workouts just 3 a week so if I miss a day it's less pressure. The date for this year's Flower's 1 Mile Sea Swim is up so I have a goal to work towards.

Today is supposed to be our local thanksgiving day but its a very new thing here (6 years) and it's not a holiday so very few celebrate it. It supposed to be a giving thanks for making it through hurricane season.

Happy December to all.

UPDATE: I was wrong! emoticon It's actually 10 years now and it's on December 6 wow I really don't celebrate it because I don't even know when it is emoticon . Well, we'll be doing brunch on that day to celebrate my birthday so we shall be eating. Bday is on Friday

I was looking up "good" protein powder and found a list on eat this not that.

www.eatthis.com/protein-powd

I wish I could try samples because I don't want to get a giant bottle and hate the taste.

Another thing I did find on green simple smoothies was how to make a smoothie a meal replacement and it gave ideas of what to add to your smoothie to make it more filling.

Happy Birthday to your husband emoticon and I hope your back pain goes away.

Its strange not having that feeling of wanting to eat more or sometimes I don't have an appetite even though it's dinner time so I have to force myself to eat something. I'm thinking of making smoothies for those times when I'm not really hungry but should eat something.

Sounds like a good challenge. Portion control has been working for me, slower loss, but find I am eating a lot less now. I didn't do my cardiologist yesterday, had some back pain, so took it easy. Plan to try later today if doing ok. Tpday is also hubs 40th birthday

So, smaller portions might be working. I get fuller sooner when I have a bigger meal and instead of stuffing myself to empty the plate I just stop eating. I weighed myself yesterday and I was down 1.6 pounds but I'm not celebrating yet I always hover around this number and never drop below it so hoping to be below it by the end of the month. I need to start some cardio.

Maybe I need to make a bet with myself lol. If I don't do a cardio workout by Monday morning I will give $18 to my brother and if I do it I can get sushi for lunch next week.

That's great!

This November my friend and I are doing a small plate challenge so eating out of smaller plates versus regular size dinner plates. Can't say it's serving its purpose because I want a snack after dinner more now, so I'll have to do some adjustments there.

I am trying to get myself to do cardio but I am struggling to attempt any kind of exercise.

Its healed now thankfully, the itching was annoying as heck. I am off on vacation this week which just means catching up on the house chores and getting to take a nap since I can't travel anywhere. The week is almost over and tomorrow I have to do errands with my dad.

You'll get the routine sorted in no time, I'm trying to figure one out since I'm part-time working from home and part-time in the office. I have a new teammate so I'll be in all week next week I believe to help them settle in.

Wednesday update. On Monday I woke up itching in the spot where I got stung and I could feel welts but not see them, on Tuesday I could see red welts and the itching was worst. Wednesday is the same as yesterday. I've been doing a mixture of Benadryl itching cream and wrapping my foot in a cloth soaked in vinegar to help with the itching. According to the internet this can last for weeks. Ah.

On a fitness note I went for a 1 mile walk Monday and Tuesday. I'm in the office today so I packed clothes to walk after work.

I've been struggling with getting back on track. I keep telling myself I can start with just walking around the neighbourhood every day, but I can't even get myself to do that. Though after saying that, this Sunday I am doing the officially unofficial 5k with my best friend. It's a virtual 5k raising money for world central kitchen so that at least will be some kind of activity.

I learned about virtual 5k through Beatrice Caruso's youtube channel. She's on a journey to lose 100 pounds. She started back in May and she's lost about 30 pounds so far. She's trying to lose the weight in a sustainable and realistic way she does vlogs and also tries out different fitness challenges. She's funny and very honest about her struggles and mindset. She motivated me enough one day to dance during lunchtime once!

If you are interested in doing the 5K anyone can join, donations are optional because she knows finances are tight. It's an unofficial virtual 5K, there i no signing up or registration you just do the distance (walk, run, dance etc).

I just wish I had more interest in her life before her health declined years ago but alas I didn't appreciate what knowledge and history she could have shared back then. It was nice hearing and reading her Obituary though, I learned a few things. The funeral was nice there were many lovely tributes people shared.

I hope your week is a lot better this week! Mines should hopefully be better, I shall send positivity out there! We are back in the office this week looking like it might be full time return to working in the office...at least for now we'll see.

I hope things are still going well for your sister!

My great grandmother passed away on the 22nd so I've been helping out with the funeral arrangements so I haven't done any exercising or healthy eating the last two weeks. It's been a little stressful. Hoping to slowly get back into things this week but might push until next week after the funeral.

Call me Sandy.

My sister had first day with students this last Thursday, things went pretty well she said, she wore her mask, so hopefully she stays healthy. She thinks she has a decent group of kids this year...she teaches kindergarten.

Ugh that sucks. Well I hope after the news in Georgia today the school officials come to their senses and have schools go to remote learning.

She has no other options, she is a single mom with a mortgage and she lives in a small town in Oklahoma with not a lot of job options. She is doing her best to stay safe, but hard when students do not have to wear masks

Nooo. If she has any other option I hope she takes it even if that means going on strike or resigning. She shouldn't have to put her life on the line because the government doesn't want to pay families enough so they can stay home and not go back to work. This whole situation is infuriating.

I am continuing my low-processed carb lifestyle but allowing a few treat meals hear and there and I started working out this month, I am doing Fitness Blenders 4 week Low Impact program.

I drove to Oklahoma today to see my sister for a few days. She has to start conferences and school starts on 17th, she is a teacher. She won't let me visit once things start because of covid risk. She will be back in classroom and masks are not required.

Wishing you all a happy and safe Monday. How was your weekend?

Most of my weekend was watching TV - finished Hanna season 2, binged Upload season 1 and started watching the old show Alias.

It was a stormy weekend lots of lightning and thunder and my poor dogs were not happy.

I only go outside if I need to walk the dogs. It is hot and humid here and we have tons of mosquitoes. It is 89.9 F here but because of the humidity it feels like 110F and the UV index is 11.9 so I am not going out in the sun. My poor dad works in construction so I'm sure he and everyone else working outside is really feeling it.

It looks like they are going to be shutting down parts of Texas again, since people here just don't get it.
How is your week so far? It is crazy hot here, 100+ temps with a lot of humidity. I'm mostly staying indoors.

Yup, there are a lot of people here that feel wearing a mask is against their rights as an American. I don't see how or why they think that. It is to protect their health and health of those around them. Some people just refuse to be decent human beings. Our country is in a lot of unrest right now....mental health is definitely being effected by lockdowns also

Yeah I am worried about you guys in the US I have lots of friends and some family that live over there. All the people that refuse to wear masks are so frustrating! I actually heard news today that there were a few local bars over the weekend that had hundreds of people and many customers and even staff weren't wearing masks, the police had to go and issue notice of prosecution to the owners. We are allowed to be less restricted now but not to that point, I don't know what people are thinking.

I hope you are able to work from home as long as you can and I am glad the challenge is helping you feel motivated :).

It is so good to hear from you. I am glad to hear you are safe and healthy. As you've probably seen on the news...the US is going down hill quickly. I live in Texas where some of the highest counts are happening. We have a lot of the wearing a mask is against our rights people here. I have been working from home since early March and probably will be for awhile. All my concerts this year have been cancelled, the state fair has been cancelled and even my breast cancer walk in November has been cancelled. It is definitely a strange world in 2020.

This is week 1 of the new summer spark 5% challenge and I've been feeling motivated, so hopefully some good results will happen in July.

Sorry I vanished for months! I'll probably vanish again in the future but I am here for now! How is everyone doing in these crazy times? I know some countries are having a harder time than others at the moment but I do hope things improve for everyone very soon. Every time I look at the news and social media it feels like we are in the middle of a dystopia.

I have been working from home since March and continue to do so and it will probably remain this way for another couple of months. My country is opening up more as new daily cases have either been 0 or 1 for the past 2 weeks. Our borders most likely won't open up for several more months which keeps us safe but it also means our economy will continue to take a hit since tourism is our biggest industry.

On another note a co-worker passed away suddenly for non-covid related reasons (we assume no more news has been shared amongst the staff we are all just processing his sudden passing). Add my great-grandma who is 98 has been in the hospital for about a month also unrelated to covid-19 but she's on oxygen support and doesn't seem to be getting off it anytime soon, she is thankfully stable.

On a health note July is my food challenge month so for this month I have gone low-processed carbs and it's been OK. Not as terrible as going added sugar free (nothing will ever be as hard as going added-sugar free).

An annual sea swim that normally takes place in June was pushed to October and I just found out about the new tentative date last week so I'm not sure if I'll do it since that leaves me 3 months to train to swim a mile. I've trained in a month before but I also didn't have hip problems that time.

Call me Sandy.

I have an allergy to Lavender, so can't use that one. It seemed the only way I got rid of this last migraine was to go to sleep. Nothing seemed to help

Migraines suck! My husband gets them once in a while and I always wonder if I should call 911. Lavendar oil helps and acroxia helps too. Great job on the walking and biking

I haven't exercised since Monday because my hips were killing me but I applied heat and used the tens machine yesterday and I am feeling a lot better today, I'll probably have to do some more heat and tens session this evening. It is also my time of the month this week (started yesterday) so that's been fun.

I went swimming again yesterday! Not exactly sure how far I went as google maps is for the roads not swimming along the shore but it seems to be roughly 1400 meters which was a struggle. Things I need to work on:

Cardio
Core
Hips.

I did a short 10 minute core workout this morning (probably not enough) and I'll hopefully do more this evening before bed.

How is everyone else doing with their goals? I haven't done well with the eating better emoticon

Mine wasn't quite that long ago, but long enough, probably 13 years since I dived. It is a lot of fun though. My husband can't because he has a eardrum that was once ruptured and never quite healed right.

Will do. I'll have to wait a bit since its $15 on the kindle. In the meantime, I watched a summary of the book. I'll share the links to the video here:

Last night while watching TV I got my husband to do some pushups with me. We did 10 each, not much exercise but I struggled to reach 10 and it's better than the 0 exercises we have been doing. While we were on vacation he bought these push-up bars which are great for removing strain from the wrist.

Happy New Year ladies!

I didn't sleep well last night so I am very tired today and having a hard time concentrating. I am looking forward to falling into bed tonight. How were everyone's holidays?

Did anyone make any 2020 goals?

I will be participating in the Flowers 1 Mile and 3K Sea Swims in June and will be working towards getting better sleep.

Call me Sandy.
