I know how you feel. I mean I was never a cold weather person, but now it seems like I really can't stand the cold! And shoveling snow is not as easy as it used to be. You will lose the weight and you will enjoy the snow again. I decree it in Jesus Name!
Greg

Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

May God richly bless you!

In Jesus Name
Amen

The older I get the less I enjoy the snow. As a child it was something to play in. How I LUVED sledriding!! But now it's just something I scrape off my car and fear falling in. Two years ago I fell and broke both sides of my right ankle on an icey sidewalk. Now plates and screws hold everything in place and my foot never healed properly. Limited movement now. BUT possibly if I were thinner I would enjoy the snow once again. Hauling all this weight around takes a lot of energy!! emoticon

I love being outside any time of the year. I made snow chairs with the grand kids the other day. They started out as snowmen but we rolled them so big we had to make them bean bag like snow chairs.

I used to live where there was a LOT of snow every winter. I really do not miss it. And now, when joint and bone issues are such a hassle, I don't think I would enjoy it anymore.

I remember building snowmen and forts in the winter as a child. There was a lot of fun involved back then!

Hello - I'm new here. Loved the name of the team so just had to join to see what it's all about. :)

I need the help of Christ cause I know I certainly can't do this on my own!!

But I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Jeanla, I know what you mean. We have suffered through at least two weeks of internet problems. We finally took care of some of the problems on the computer in the office, and my boss bought a new router today! WOO HOO! Maybe now I will be able to stay onlne more than a minute or two! Thank you all for not giving up on my during this time; I assure you, I wanted very much to be here. I am trying to get caught up again.

I always stay in on New Year's Eve. I would have liked to go to the New Year's service at synagogue, but I am still coughing a bit too much, and have to work at 7 in the morning. The services go on all night, with scripture being read from before midnight until morning.

I love to read scripture out loud. It is so powerful! Oh--not everyone stays all night. People sign up for reading at a certain time, and can, if they need to, come in just to read.

Blessings to you for the New Year! Thank You, most blessed, Most High G-d!

We are staying home! I think that is going to be awesome! I was listening to my tenants talking tonight about their plans for going out tomorrow night. I am thankful that we will be home, where we stand a much better chance of celebrating the New Year!

I have often wished there were places to go for such occasions that do not center around alcohol.

Sometimes I NEED that movie, no matter what time of year it is. I need the reminder that our lives are good, that we can and do make a difference for people. I lose sight of that often, and wonder, why am I here? I know, not a good thing for a believer, but I am realizing that as a believer I do not have to pretend to think a certain way. As I grow, when I can escape--yes, escape--my present situation, I will start to have a different and better view of myself.

Being "the only one" can be very difficult. So many believers face that, everything from being the only one in a family to the persecution I receive for being a Jewish believer to being imprisoned for faith in Messiah. It comes in so many forms. Are any of us exempt? I don't think so. Our L-rd was not.

much love to you all

This season I watched 90% of It's a Wonderful Life. My partner wouldn't share the experience, so I sat alone and enjoyed the message. (The world can be changed by the life of one person.)

At an office dinner and again at a family dinner, I interjected with "God bless us every one!" like Tiny Tim said in The Christmas Carol. There was no prayer or grace said before eating...
It was brought to my attention that this sort of phrase is better kept private and quiet among the coworkers and extended family.
(Who's birthday are we celebrating anyway????)

While I'm spouting off, maybe I should have downed vast amounts of alcohol, danced on the table and wished everyone a Merwwwy Chrisssssthhmathh, as given them something to gossip about instead.
(I am being cranky and sarcastic here, folks.)

Groan... maybe I'll just stay home from the "celebrations" next year.

How I have missed this team! You cannot imagine how many times I want to come back here and see how everyone is. I think, maybe, things are calming down a bit for me. Posting is a priority again because it can be.

How are all of you? How were your Holy Days? What Christmas special or movie meant the most to you this year? What blessings were you able to share? How were you blessed? I am sitting here drumming my fingers and waiting...

love you all

Here's a little humor:
After noticing how slim and trim my husband had become, a friend asked me how I had persuaded him to diet. It was then I shared my secret: I put our teenage sons shorts in his underwear drawer.

This from AOL news 12/7/09:

A team of researchers at Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center discovered that study participants who ate meat-filled lunch entrees over the course of four days consumed 420 additional calories and 30 more fat grams per day than those who chose a mushroom-based meal.

"Not only does this swap help you get in more veggies and slash calories without feeling hungrier, it also ups your intake of one of the key nutrients tied to weight control -- Vitamin D," said Cynthia Sass, R.D., co-author of 'The Ultimate Diet Log.'

In fact, trading three ounces of 90 percent lean ground turkey for a half-cup of chopped Portabella mushrooms once a week, without making any other changes, would save you 7,280 calories a year."

* * * * *

Other appetite suppressors according to AOL:

* Olive oil and grapeseed oil
* Tofu eaten before meals
* Oatmeal
* Soy milk
* Broth-based soups
* Rye bread

Today was a really nice day. The weekend always goes too quickly. I am looking forward to a brand new week.

I just finished crocheting an afghan yesterday. I made it as a gift for someone truly special; my best friend, whom I love dearly. It took me just over a week to complete. I am making arrangements to get a picture of it posted.

I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.

Hello Everyone~

God bless you all for this site and the peace I have found here.

I just wanted to let you know that I am 100% better from my bronchial pneumonia, however, I lost my WiFi and have had no internet for 4 days. I feel lost without this site and the people here.

So, I called Time Warner and have a T-1 line going in on Friday. I can hardly wait. I need to track my food and find recipes and visit with people.

I am grateful for all the prayers that you sent my way to help in the healing of my lungs.

I will return.

Hugs,
Deborah

I belong to several teams, and I don't always have a lot of time to spend on each of them everyday; however, I always turn to this team in particular for honest and loving encouragement!

I re-read Greg's verse and exortation from Isaiah 26:3 and was once again blessed. I've had this verse and the following written on a post-it card and refer to it often. The following verse 4 reminds us of the Rock that we have in our Lord God Almighty. I love that and the strength and power it represents in our lives! That strength has helped me to stay on plan these past few weeks, even when it's been hard - and thank you LORD I'm once again in the place where I'm seeing consistent results. Although difficult at times to stay focused, He helps me press on.

Thank you, Lou.

You know, I just LOVE this team! And just in case I haven't told you all lately, I thank God for each and every one of you, and keep you all in my prayers daily.

I hope you all had a marvelous day!

It's the Lord's day! I love sundays! they can be long and hard sometimes since I'm one of the ones that arrive first and is almost the last to leave but I love serving, learn and worshiping my Lord my God.
