Dave,
If you need a little more, don't forget that you are allowed to eat the cucumbers out of the sassy water. That mini-cucumber salad was a big help to me on a couple rough nights.

ONEDOGLVR,

Thanks for the tip. I've only been on the jumpstart for two days so far but the worst time for me is after dinner until bedtime. I will try splitting up the smoothy and see if that helps out.

Oh, Great idea!! Thanks.
My computer going going to be shut down for a bit. We are moving on Sat. My cable will be shut off either tomorrow or the next day. My new cable won't be installed until Tues at the new house.
I'll be back then. Keep those ideas coming and let me know them when I come back on. I'll be ready for the Jump Start again. The stress has me eating chocolate again. ugh! But only a few more days of this and I'll be over the big hump of it all.
Take care. I'll post when I get back on.
stay strong.

I usually take half of the smoothie and drink it...the other half I put in a bowl and freeze. makes a great nighttime snack.

I lose much of my appetite in hot, humid weather...so... smoothies make excellent lunch to avoid missing meal (and thereby squeezing calories into big clumps rather than spead thru day) which would mess with my progress to healthier lifestyle.

I love smoothies for breakfast. I never thought about having one any other time. How silly. I think I'll give that a try. Thanks! Maybe that will help with the headaches I get too??

Surpisingly I did not get a headache from the lack of sugar. When I felt the urge for chocolate or junk food, I drank a couple mouthfuls of water. If that did not work I drank a smoothie (milk and berries put in blender with flax seed oil)...it helped the cravings.

Debbie, How did you manage to get off sugar? I'm a huge junkie and after two days, I am tired with headache. Did you have any issues with it right after you gave it up? If so, how long till it went away?

HI! I'm down 11 lbs since the first of June. My big "secret" - I am a junk food junkie. I cut out all my junk food - NO SUGAR and made sure I was eating the right portions. It is the first time I lost anything in a long time. I'm currently 217.4 lbs and I am trying really hard to be under 200 for the end of August. The first couple pounds came off quickly but now I'm back to my slow rate of about 1/2 lb a week. That's alright I'll take it.

no I didn't realize. but I'm just thinking I'll be facing those challenges all the time. If not that weekend, then the next weekend I'll have another excuse and so on. I'm getting into a new house on 6/30 and it just seems like the right time. New house, new beginnings, new way of eating. Time to keep the new habit going without stopping this time. I'm just going to really need some major support. everythings going to be new so it's either going to be stress eating or total new change.

I've had Onyx since she was just about 8 weeks old. She is doing well health wise. She had both of her "knees" done when she was eight. She has a hard time getting up from time to time but once she is up she is ready to go.

I went out to dinner last night. Didn't make the greatest choices but it was good. Back on track this morning!

Talk to you soon,

The fritatta sounds yummy and I think the break is just what you needed. Good for you!

Last night was my dogs birthday - she turned 14. I bought doggie ice cream for the dogs and they had a great time licking the bowls clean.

Trying to run around squeezing zillions of errands into a single day...like the annual car inspections and registrations etc etc. You all know that frenetic drill I'm sure. It actually went more smoothly than expected (knock on wood).
So, I decided I deserved a reward and went to late lunch at little cafe near the square that overlooks lily pond and woods. Sipping on ice tea and smelling the roses for awhile chilled me right out. It was great.
I ordered the Mediterranean Fritatta, essentially an open omelet with spinach, mushrooms, black olives, and feta cheese...with a small side of their homemade baked beans rather than all the homefries. Simple but good.

Good for you Debbie. I'm so messed up with this moving thing I have so much stuff to do. Right now, I'm maintaining but I can't wait to do the JS again once we get settled in our new place in two weeks. I felt much better doing that. I binged today. Took the boys to see Karate Kid and I ate more candy than they did. Now I'm sick to my tummy and need to go to bed so I don't eat more.

It's amazing how quickly the FBD works. I just saw the woman at my gym that told me about it. She's in her 70's and lost a ton of weight. I just saw her again today and she even lost sooo much more. It's amazing. If a 70 something year old can lose quickly, then we certainly can too.

I was on a roll for a few weeks and lost 10 pounds. Now we are in the mist of moving so I'm really having a hard time sticking with it. I'll get back into the JS once we get moved at the end of the month and try again. I'm just trying to stick with eating 400 calories every 4 hours for now. I'll worry about the MUFA's later. right now, I just want to maintain what I lost.

I started on June 1st also. This is the first time I am doing the Flat Belly Diet. I lost 9 lbs as of today. I'm so excited. It is the first time I have lost weight in a long time.

I am a little nervous tonight because I am going out for dinner. I hope to make a good choice and only eat half of what I am served. Wish me luck!

Koribeth I hope you were able to refuse those cookies. I was amazed that I did not feel too hungry on the jump start. Good luck!

Cincin- thank you for the congats on the 7 lbs. I am very proud. It has been a long time since I have lot any weight. The jump start got me really looking at serving sizes and the light finally flicked on in my brain...WOW.

Jazz - Congrats on the 6lbs. Good work.

I finished the jumpstart on Friday. Satruday I had the homemade calazone (I found the receipe here somewhere) and it did not look like it was going to be very filling but it was. And it was delicious.

Sunday I had a Turkey burger with a thin whole wheat bun - it had 100 calories for the bun, and for dinner I had steak with rice and yellow squash. It was a great weekend.

Monday morning I had a scone (found the receipe on here) and it was a little dry for my liking but I have 3 more servings that I will finish off this week. I had a great big salad for lunch - YUM.

I'm going to have my smoothie shortly. I have no control over dinner as I am going to a meeting at my church where they will feed me. I know I will make the healthiest choice available.

Talk to you soon,

Debbie

Congratulations on your successful jumpstart! Maybe if we stay connected to SP we won't have to keep losing the same weight over and over again!

hello I just got off junpstart and lost 6 pounds.
This is what I started in 2008 and have not a clue why I stopped. I ganed 10 pounds and tried everything but this works. Today I am sticking to this and must do this. Why do we loose and gain the same weight? I was blaming stress and depression.

Hope you didn't eat those cookies!!
After today you will finish JS. Please don't ruin it now, you've come this far already. Tomorrow you'll start on more food and that will help. Only a few more hours to go.
Maybe try to go to bed early tonight so hunger doesn't take over.

Hi everyone. I'm on day 4 of the jump start program and have been VERY hungry. It's about 2:00 in the afternoon and on my last day of the JS and I REALLY want to quit! Does anyone have any motivation for me? Please help! There's a huge pile of cookies sitting in the kitchen of my office! emoticon

Debbie, congrats on the 7 lbs!! That's great. I bet you feel so much better too.
I felt better doing the JS myself. Then we got into house sale and now moving and issues from the people buying our house we are trying to get out of so the eating thing has become very little for me.
I can't eat when stressed.
Enjoy the weight loss. Stay strong!

Good morning everyon. How is everyone doing???? I have been doing much better with my eating.... finally learning to eat the right potions - what a difference. I am on day 4 of the jumpfast...I already lost 7 lbs. I feel great.

I have not had too much time to exercise but was able to get on the bike in the gym at lunch 3 times this week for 20 minutes.

I worked up a sweat last night when the dog I was training at the Humane Society snapped her coller and was off running. Fortuntatly she went right to another dog, but there was some growling and teeth shown. No one got hurt, human or dog, but for the minute or two it took me to get a leash around her neck had me sweating like a pig. OH dogs are so much fun!!! LOL

Have a great weekend.

There is no mufa -- the jumpstart menus will be different. When you start Day 5 and beyond - you will have a mufa with every meal. Hope that helps.

A question came up at lunch yesterday in my office. Why isn't there a MUFA at lunch on the 4 day jumpstart? Anybody know?

Slowly is the way to go. If you do everything too quickly, you get overwhelmed and start craving too much bad stuff and then you're done in. Baby steps is more effective. You didn't gain overnight and you certainly won't lose overnight.
Be patient, be strong, good things will happen.
