I love tomatoes and sunflower seeds, but decided not to do the jump start because I'm diabetic and I have to be careful with nutritional balance.

I cut the tomatoes in half, seasoned them with lots of salt-free Italian herbs and roasted them at 450 for 15 minutes. This worked beautifully for me; I'm not a fan of raw tomatoes. I had this with brown rice and it was almost like pasta marinara!

I have the flat belly pocket guide and it says you can replace the tomatoes for squash or mushrooms. If you don't like either of those try any veggie you enjoy. And for the seeds just any nut will do. Almonds, pistashios (mmm), etc. :)

I like tomatoes, but confess that I never could eat the whole pint! Don't worry-you'll find a replacement. emoticon

I agree...if you don't like it...you are not committed to eating it. There are other enjoyable alternatives to choose from!!!

Oh Man - don't make yourself eat what you don't like! emoticon
I don't eat the tomatoes either - just swap out what you don't like - use the other options for other meals. Use another nut for sunflowers seeds, another veggie in the JS for the tomatoes... easy enough to fix!
You can swap out anything that is on the JS menu veggies for veggies, protein for protein, fruits for fruits, dairy for dairy etc... emoticon

Ok...I started the four day jump-start this morning...the sunflower seeds(1/4 cup) were hard to gag down. I mixed them with the applesauce to get them in. I hate tomatoes and am not looking forward to the pint of grape tomatoes at lunch...not sure how to get by those! I am really scared and nervous about the things on the menu that I really don't care for...are there substitutes? Trying to do it right.
