Well, I'm back from HOT Vegas. It was between 104 and 113 degrees while we were there. Much to hot to leave South Point to sight see.
My bowling wasn't great. I bowled above my average 3 of the 9 games and just under my average 6 of the games.
It was different this year with less people on the lanes and having to wear masks while bowling. I did like the less people as we weren't all crammed in as usual.
And, it was, above all, fun. Good people and good times.

I am so bummed we will no longer be able to keep up, even though it's been a shrinking number.
Lou, thanks for all your help over the years with bowling tips and tricks and all that information you have given us.
Friday I am heading for Vegas to bowl in the Nationals. This will likely be my last time as at age 70 I am not looking forward to the three day drive each way and I refuse to fly.
I wish you all success in everything you do and hope to see you in some other aspect of SP down the line.

Yesterday we wrapped up our shortened season. My team came in third overall. My avg ended at 154 while it started out at 150. Huh.
Next week No-tap begins and I plan on participating
Also going to the Nationals in Vegas the second week of June. That should prove interesting since it is a paired down tournament. But I am excited to get out of this bubble we've been living in and experience something more normal, like travel and intermingling with people.
(I have had both covid shots and am not stupid!)

Good rebound, Patrick. Must be in the air. Last week I bowled horribly after my great week before, just like you. Hopefully I can do better today like you.

After my season high 685 series two weeks ago, I managed to plunge last week into the 400's (Don't have the exact # but it was not pretty!). Last night was better -- 176, 186, and a 213 for a 575 series. Team-wise, we won 3 out of 4. A much better evening for all of us!

Next week is our last night for the season. Hoping when we return in the fall (really August) masks will not be a requirement.

Hi Cat and Patrick. Although I get numerous emails from SP, for some unknown reason I have not received notice of your posts here. I'll check all of my settings and will get back here soon.

Thank you for posting. It is appreciated, as are both of you.

213,164,153 for a 530 series and my team won two games and total pins.
We lost the last game by 1 pin!

It seemed like my bowling had gone into hibernation this past winter! Once spring hit my scores started to climb -- a 601 the first week of spring and a 556 the week after. Both of those sets were impacted by awful 3rd games, so last night I went in with the mindset of focusing on speed, especially game 3, and it paid big dividends! 245, 236, and a 204 for a 685 series! Best set in a LONG time!

And to put icing on the cake, we swept our opponents -- a high average team to boot! I'd be happy to repeat this for the balance of the season (3 weeks away)!

I just realized I didn't post my miserable scores from Wed. As best I can remember they were 149, 160, 154. We lost all games and now share third place.
I'm still registered and have reservations for the Nationals in Vegas for June 15 & 16. We have gotten our Covid shots and an infusion of desire to hit the road.
Now if I could get my bowling to cooperate!

FINALLY!!!! Back to the bowling alley yesterday.,176 It was great being their and all the 'old' people and the routine of it all.
My 11 lb ball felt like it weighed 22 lbs but after a few practice throws, which were not good, I was ready to go when the play began.
I rolled 174,145, 176. Not bad for the first time in 15 weeks.

I pray that the WA bowling alleys will stay open forever now.

Hey Lou, the 10 pin issue is SO inconsistent! A week ago I had like 7 or 8 of them and converted all but one! This week only a few but only got one. I truly believe it is a mental thing. I see REALLY GOOD bowlers in our league (200+ average) fail with this pin. Not too often b/c they are getting tons of strikes, but...

In any case, if you find a video on the topic I would of course be happy to view! I'll do some searching over the weekend too!

Nice series, Patrick! You have had problems making the 10-pin for a while now. Let's do a search for converting 10-pins in bowling and see what tips we can find.

I agree with Cat that it makes the evening more fun if both teams are compatible. emoticon

One of our scratch league bowlers while I was in Illinois believed that it was okay to be friendly with the opposing team... until competition started and then his team should treat the other team as enemies. emoticon

That, I don't subscribe to but we know certain teams and individuals that make it extremely difficult to feel camaraderie toward them. It would be fun to be on a team with both of you. emoticon

Last evening's scores: 194, 213, and a 189 for a 596 series. Missed my "six" by only getting 6 pins on my last ball in game 3 / 10th frame. Got a decent amount of strikes throughout but a few too many splits and 10 pin misses. If it's not one thing it is another! But it was a fairly consistent evening so I am happy for that.

Team wise we split but only got 15 our of 35 points. But it is team we like to bowl with so camaraderie wins!

Good first game and really a decent series, although disappointing. Bowling lane conditions change so quickly and is something non-bowlers and casual bowlers do not understand.

Make it better tonight (Tuesday, league night)!

Last evening for me: Started out great with a 244, but the magic spot disappeared and struggled with a 168 and 169 for a 581 series.

Team wise we lost 3 out of 4 against a high average team. They produced in games 1 and 2, but we did well in game 3 while they did not, but it was not enough to rescue series.

Oh well, I remind myself that I do this for fun and not a profession!

Last eveningís scores: 169, 198, and a 212 for a 579 series! Iím always happy when my scores improve game to game.

Team wise we split, narrowly losing series by 2 pins! I won all my points against my opponent. This team is one I have bowled with since my days in Dover, so I always enjoy when we meet up.

Last evening's scores: 221, 150, and a 181 for a 552 series. Maddingly inconsistent but the positive is that this is 3 weeks in a row with an above average series. Game 1 was a dream, game 2 was a nightmare for the 1st 5 frames (65), but was able to hang in there and salvage it, game 3 was good enough.

On the team side, we swept our opponents! That is a first for this season! All in all, a good night!

It is tough to broadcast scores we are not ourselves happy with, Patrick. Perhaps you may feel comfortable on those nights not to post scores but to tell us what sort of night it was -- 10-pins, splits...

Last night was a good night, though, a 193 average. 'Taint nuttin' to it, huh bro? emoticon

Hard to believe your centers are still closed, Cat, even with "social distancing." Many others, including all here in our five-county association, are open, with limitations. Is there a Chuck E Cheese near you? If so, maybe work on your game with their skee-ball? emoticon If nothing else, enjoy a pizza and people watch. emoticon emoticon

Be well,

Lou

Hadnít posted the past 3 weeks basically because I bowled poorly! It was being a bit selfish because team wise we have been doing better. Last night I finally contributed! 193, 214, and 172 for a 579 series. Team wise we won 3 out of 4 for the 3rd straight week! Nice way to finish 2020 part of the season.

Stay healthy.
Our governor closed alot of the state down again four weeks ago which included the lanes.
So frustrating. We only got in 6 weeks.

Last evening's scores: 170, 198 and a 205 for a 573 series! First "above average" evening in 4 bowling weeks! After the lukewarm game 1, I started looking for a new spot and found it around frame 3 of game 2. Still need to work on my spare game. A few too many easy misses! On a good note, I did convert a 2-10 split in game 1 and nearly did it again in game 2.

Team wise, we won game 1 but lost games 2 and 3 and series. Never a good sign when I am the high bowler for our team for all 3 games, but I am glad to contribute.

This is the 2nd week we are following a little more strict masking protocol in the house. Masks 100% except for on the approach, and when eating or sipping a drink. League bowlers are for most part taking int seriously. We don't want the house to close again (which happened 3 weeks ago due to a COVID outbreak).

Your encouragement and compassion is appreciated. I have heard nothing from any of my family but that's typical -- no calls, texts, Facebook messages, or visits in years.

It was nice to click on our bowling team and read such an uplifting message.

Lou, you have really been through alot of pain and suffering with your back and wrists. Hopefully since your back still hurts you won't push your left hand recovery, trying to get back to bowling. Let it heal.
I'd like to hear your on lane exploits again so please do get better and back to the lanes.

For sure, Patrick, some nights and some lanes are against us and nothing we do can overcome them. But your 600 next week will offset this week, right?

Cat, I;m with you on the masks. My glasses steam up badly. Since I can't wear my contact lenses at the moment, when I take off the glasses I need to squint, like Mr. Magoo in the old cartoons. emoticon

Wishing you both better weeks.

When I had to take off from bowling for a while due to my back and right hand problems, I joked about standing at the foul line and swinging my current 15-pound bowling balls then rolling it. Maybe average 34, but think of the handicap!

Now that joke is no longer, for now. Tomorrow, Friday, I'll have carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand. Two weeks in a cast and light use for a month or so. But my right hand feels good now; not so my back. Maybe one day.

Lou, I am pretty clueless as to why the off night. Adjusted my spot, changed balls midway through game 2, etc. Nothing clicked. Ironically the other team's best bowler struggled most of the night too. I'm hoping to get some practice in tomorrow and maybe figure out the issue...

I haven't posted the last couple weeks as I am back in my old ways. But you are right, Lou, that's why we have averages (and teams).

It is difficult to bowl with the mask and I have resorted to removing my eyeglasses while bowling due to the steam.
I did make a mask that is loose in the nose opening area which helped my ability to breath but not so great for conversing with people (spray), so I just stay back from everyone.

Hopefully next week I can find my momentum.

Guess that's why it's called an average with the ups and downs. Anything stand out as the biggest problem?

...and just like that, mediocrity returns! A 479 series on Tuesday! I didnít even take a picture of the screen I was so unhappy with my scores! Team wise we lost 3 out of 4. The only good thing was the fellowship with the other team. I have known them for many years.

Oh well, next week...hope to get some practice in either today or tomorrow.

Good news that you are back bowling, Cat! So, have to keep masks on even when going to the bathroom or to get a drink or food? I couldn't handle that; masks make me overheated. Guess I'd have to sneak into a bathroom stall and take the mask off for a while. emoticon

Nice starting scores. emoticon

Nice 600, Patrick! emoticon Fairly consistent with the scores week to week. A goal for you could be to always have a series higher than the consecutive number of your running days. emoticon You can do it.

I'm a few weeks behind:

Tuesday, October 13: 225, 168, and a 157 for a 550 series. Game 1 was totally clean, games 2 and 3 were a mess! We bowled against the blind team and only captured 23 out of 35 points.

Tuesday, October 20: 179, 235 and a 204 for a 618 series. First "six" of the season! Game 1 was a near miracle. Only had 51 after five, brought out the heavy ball, and snagged 128 pins to bail that game out, and the strikes kept coming in game 2. Game 3 less strikes but another clean game! Team wise not so good. Two of my teammates are struggling. I can totally appreciate that. We'll get there...

FINALLY we got back to bowling. I did well for not having touched the ball in six months. 152,152,192.
Washington lanes are limited to leagues practice and play only. And only two people per lane.
Our league decided to go with two man teams so we can bowl with our opposition rather than having them on separate lanes. It is strange and I had to keep slowing myself down.

Ours is a seniors league and every year we lose members and with Covid are now down to only sixteen people. Masks are required the entire time in the building and no hand slapping.

I am just grateful to be able to get out there and bowl.

Last Tuesday's league scores: 165, 199, and a 193 for a 557 total. Game 1 would have been worse except for the 29 pins I got in the 10th. I brought the heavier ball out but decided to give my lighter ball 5 more frames. Got more aggressive with my speed and got better results so the heavier ball never got used.

Team wise we split, losing games 1 and 2 but pummeling the opposition in game 3 to capture it and series.

Today's practice: 159 and 179. I had two errands to run before I got to the alley and only had enough time for two games. Lighter ball in game one, heavier in game 2. I'll start league play next week with the heavier ball.

Delaware's bowling restrictions are on a per business basis which had to be approved by the state to reopen. Our alley is limited to bowlers only (no spectators) and there is a designated area for leagues only, and only league bowlers are are allowed in this area. As far as facial coverings, practice requires coverings, then once league play starts mask only required when we leave the bowling lanes (i.e..use bathroom, get beverages, etc). It seems to be working OK. I have not heard of anyone getting COVID-19, and that is the important part.

Tough start, Patrick, but improvement until last week. Hang in there. Practice will help.

Cat, our Central Florida centers are open but most are at 50% capacity. Not sure how that's working for leagues. Our bowling association hasn't met since early in the year and I'm still having back and hand problems so I haven't been inside centers as often as before. Let's hope you can get back to the lanes soon.

Be well.

YAY Cat!

Last evening's scores: 182, 153 (yipes!) and a 178 for a 513 series. Game 2 was just a mess, at least for the 1st 5 frames where I had a 53 through 5. Thankfully my 2nd 5 salvaged the game some.

Team wise we lost 3 out of 4. None of us bowled particularly well. Thank goodness the opposition were fun guys to bowl against! I did not practice last Friday and it showed! I will get to practice this week!

Last Tuesdayís scores: 186, 183, and a 203 for a 572 series. Game 2 should have been better ó had a strike in the 9th with a 157 in the 8th, seem to throw the ball just fine in the 10th only to to end up with a soul crushing 7-10 split! Oh well...at least I did not let it bring me down in the 3rd game.

Team wise we ended up winning 3 out of 4 again. I donít know how many points for sure, though I won all mine in the head to head match up. The standings have not been updated online yet. But we are getting this season off to a good start!

Last night's results: 180, 178, and a 201 for a 559 series! A dramatic improvement over last week (then again the bar was set pretty low!).

Team-wise, we won 3 out of 4. Not sure how many points, but I did beat my opponent on games 1, 3 and series, so I believe that is good for 4 points. We were bowling a high average team and they were struggling. They were giving us 81 pins. Happy to take them!

Last night was the opening for the 2020 / 21 season, and having literally not touched my ball in 6 months, it showed. I believe all my scores were in the 140's, used all three balls with not much success. My heavier ball did get more strikes but was not good on may spares, didn;t have a single cross lane conversion with my spare ball, etc. In a nutshell, I need some practice! Fortunately, our new home is just 15 minutes away from another bowling establishment, and they open during the week at 11AM. so I will make a point to get there for some lunchtime bowling this week!

Hard to tell how we did team-wise. We did have the edge on scratch scores on games 1 and 2, but the other team kicked our butts in game 3.

As for COVID-19 precautions, everyone did well! The plan: Everyone is masked for practice, then once league play started no masks in the pit area and on the lanes, but on the carpeted areas behind the lanes, masks required. And no spectators! Delaware has some the of the lowest COVID-19 #'s so we want to keep it that way!

No scores to post but since our lanes have been closed since mid March, yesterday our governor announced bowling lanes can reopen in phase 2 counties. League play and practice only, two people per lane, players keep 6' apart, masks worn, equipment cleaned after use, and no spectators.
I say, get the doors open and the equipment running!

Our bowling center closed on Monday. No reopen date yet, but my guess is it will not be until May, which pretty much means the season is over. If that is the case, I will finish with a 185 average and the highlight of the season was my 2nd ever 299!

Back after a week off: 235, 228, 171 for a 634 series! Surprisingly good! Found my line early. Game 3 it kind of disappeared plus a couple splits. Head to head I won 3 out of 4. Team wise, still not so good ó only won one. Our anchor had a rough night.

I only missed one 10 pin ó I think I was 3 out of 4 ó very good night for me!

Last eveningís results: 161 (sigh!), 188, and a 214 (yay!) for a 563 series. Took me until the middle of game 2 to find a good spot for my strike ball. Was only 3 for 6 on 10 pin conversions.

The good news is that I beat my opponent 3 out of 4 and even more important team won 3 out of 4 too! We had lots of help from our super sub who rolled a 700 series and the other teamís anchor bowler was off his A-game most of the night.

Nice way to wrap up before going on vacation. Will catch back up in two weeks!

Pretty good outing, Patrick.
Yes, we do it for the fun! Sometimes I wonder where the fun is.....!

Yesterday I finally showed up. I am in week five of being sick and my bowling showed I am getting better.
I rolled a 192, dipped to 135, then up to my avg of 155 for a 482.
My team won all four which keeps us in 3rd position but only 2 games out of 1st.

Last nightís results: 218, 178, and a 237 for a 633 series. Game 2 should have been better but tailed off in the 9th and 10th frames! I made an adjustment to start game 3 and was pleased with the results! Best series since December 3! I also won all my points against my opponent.

Team-wise, not so good. Our lead off bowler had a rare rough night and we were up yet another hot team! Iím confident weíll improve soon. And we do this for fun and fellowship!

At least you were able to adjust, Patrick. Good series.

Again and for the second week in a row I had a horrible outing. My team only won the last game and not enough to help with the total pins hole we had dug ourselves into.
My series was 148,140,127. I lost another pin of avg, as well.

My scores from last evening: 190, 172, and a 181 for a 543 series. The 2nd game was a miracle to have ended up with a 172. I was at 76 in the 5th and totally clueless (OK thatís enough from the peanut gallery!), so pulled the light ball out and was able to string together 4 strikes together in the 9th and 10th plus some much needed marks in the prior frames to make it respectable. On the positive side I covered all of my 10 pins (I think there was 3 of them). I used my plastic spare ball and it worked like a charm.

I need some practice time. Not sure that will be this weekend. Besides a long run (11.5 miles) I need to get my taxes all organized so I can send them to our accountant. But maybe Iíll treat myself if I get the tax work done ó a carrot on the stick if you will!

Yesterday was so awful. I bowled a 108 my first game. REALLY!
The second game was better but not average at 140.
But I woke for the third game hitting 180. The team won that last game but lost the rest and we fell from 2nd to 3rd position.

I started out slow with a 137 then a 142 before hitting my stride with a 186 for 465 series.
Perhaps a 5 day migraine helped limit my success.

Last evening's results: 205, 177, and 204 for a 586 series. WAY better than the last 3 weeks! I had a 488 series last week that I was too embarrassed to post! Had good luck with the heavier ball. I do need to get some practice, but it won't be this weekend -- it's Polar Bear Plunge weekend here in Delaware.

Team wise we are in a slump. After climbing to 4th place in December we have plummeted to 9th! We'll turn it around soon enough.

And yes I am ALWAYS happy for hump day!

Last evening's results: 147, 146, and a 218 for a 511 series. My first league bowling in 3 weeks and it showed! And that was even with 3 practice games last Sunday. I started with my heavier ball but switched to my lighter ball in game 2. Took until the 3rd game for that move to pay off.

Team wise we did not do too much better. Only won game 3 when we all found our games and rolled a 804 scratch game!

On the positive side our team captain had new team shirts created. They are pretty sharp! I'll wash mine and have it ready for next week.

Yesterday was the last bowling until January 8th.
My team won three of four and are just one game out of first.
series. My bowling was improved and I rolled a 470 series.
I decided part of my problem lately is I am pulling the ball, so tried not do that.
I am also throwing left and no matter how far left I move I am still heading left. Yesterday I worked on that as well.
Maybe over the two week layoff I'll go in and practice without the pressure of league.

Patrick, you are on a roll. Good bowling.
Yesterday I did better but still not good or good enough. My team lost all four to the second place team for the 2019 position round. We flip flopped positions. Darn.
I rolled 144, 154, 174 for a 470 series.

We are bowling next week then we are off for two weeks. I am hoping that will give my wrist time to rest and heal.

Last night: 209, 233, and a 190 for a 632 series. Two ď6ísĒ in aa row! YAY!! The 190 was a miracle of sorts ó started out game 3 with two ten misses (ARGH), then two strikes, then a chopped 6-10! 75 after 5, but had a strong 2nd half to salvage the 190! The key to the improved scores is just getting strikes and a lot of them! I need to be more consistent on the ten pin conversions!

Team wise we did VERY well ó won all 4! Position round next week to end the 2019 part of the season. We also have a Christmas buffet next Tuesday.

Congratulations, Patrick. WTG!! You should be beaming with pride.

I finally showed back up for my team. 148,157,169. And we won all four propelling us to 1st place.

Next week is first half position round and we have a tight competition with the 2nd place team so it will be fun to see how it shakes out.

Last evening: 169, 299, and a 169 for a 637 series. Yes, a 299! And unlike my only other 299 back in 2011, I put the ball right where I wanted, but my arch enemy the 10 pin had other ideas! The first 11 were all very good. I am very proud of the game. I wish the other two would have been a tad better, but Iím actually happy in game 3, I only had 60 after 5 (Iím sure aa little letdown after the 299) but pulled it together and knocked down 109 to salvage the game.

Team wise ó we won all 4! We are on a bit of a run as of late, and Iím sure my 201 average over the past 3 weeks is helping.

Yesterday I had my worse day this season bowling. 135,139,118. OMG.
But my team took 3 of 4 thanks to my three team mates.

And for a change, we had a good team night. Won 3 out of 4.

My best friend and I are planning to go bowling on Saturday so I will finally get in some much needed practice.

Last evening's scores: 159 (ARGH!), then a great comeback with a 216 and a 213 for a 588 series! I was pretty frustrated after game 1 but one of my teammate suggested moving 1 board right (lots of 10 pins standing, many of which I did not convert!), and the strikes starting pouring in!

Head to head i won games 1 and 3 and my opponent got game 2 and series. Team-wise, we lost all 4! But we had fun!

I see I haven't posted since 10/9. Think I know why. I have bowled terribly most weeks since then. My avg 10/9 was 160 and it's now down to 156.
But yesterday I had a good three games of 156,162,170 for 489. I will definitely take it.
Plus my team lost all those weeks I bowled poorly and we went from 1st to 4th position.
Yesterday we won all games and made up one slot.
I'm not saying my bowling was the reasons for losing or winning, it just so happened that we were all up and down and inconsistent and the other teams bowled better.
That's the way it is. And like Patrick, it's good time and socialization.

After a two week break, back to the hardwoods: 158, 175, and a 200 for a 533 series. I did not get in any practice during my break so the 158 score was not a surprise. Happy that I improved throughout the evening. Used the heavier ball, and since it has much more hook, it took time to find the right spot.

Team-wise, it was a rough night. Dropped all four games. But itís all about fun and guy time, so itís all good.

Last nightís scores: Off to a rousing start with a 233, then just ďlostĒ it with a 148 and a 146 for a 527 series. I tried just about every idea I could think of in those last two games, but it was splits, chops, and just a mess! I really need to get some practice time in but havenít figured out where to slot that in. A few years back I was able to go to my local alley on Friday lunch time but they no longer are open (been that way for a few years).

Team-wise, we won 3 out of 4, so that makes my mess much more bearable!

Lou, you really have had your issues and pain from your back and hand/wrist. It's too bad that something can't be figured out since we have all this high tech and high intellect medical breakthrough science. Huh.
At any rate, it doesn't sound as though you are sitting around moping. It's good you have the bowling association interest that propel you to stay active.
Take care and mend.

Hi Cat and Patrick.

I have been missing in action, or more accurately, missing from action. And I haven't been getting notices from SP of your postings.

I have copied each of your entries from back when I last posted and will go through them to see if I can spot any tips to offer. emoticon

I am grateful you both continue to post your results. Now, if we can get others to do so, too!

My return to the lanes has been delayed again. Ongoing back cramps -- sometimes it is difficult to walk to the end of the driveway to get the newspaper, other times not so bad, just never know when they will hit despite more steroid injections in my back.

Then, about six weeks or so ago I asked the hand surgeon who did my bowling hand carpal tunnel surgery (which worked fine so I can now feel a book page to turn it or to pick up a pen) why I still had pain on the outside of that same hand from the pinkie finger down to my wrist. emoticon

He took X-rays that showed there are two bones on that meaty side of the palm. There is supposed to be space between them but mine had none so certain actions that put pressure on that area such as the weight of a bowling ball or pushing up from a chair, causes pain. emoticon

I'm not sure what to do but hope to figure out something. emoticon

Meanwhile, I continue my role as a Director of our Orlando Regional bowling association and am involved in our Hall of Fame committee and chair our All City Teams Selection Committee, naming the year's All City teams and writing the minimum standards to qualify for those teams.

Additionally, I continue to administer our Facebook page --Orlando Regional USBC.

Please continue to post. I'll make sure to check if SP notices still are not sent. Meanwhile, I have your responses to catch up on.

Bowl well. emoticon

Lou

Tuesdayís scores: 171, 173, and a 204 for a 548 series. At least my first two games were better than last week. Had issues covering the 7 pin! ARGH! Game 3 was cruising right along until an UGLY 4-6-7-9-10 showed up! Thankfully I recovered...

Team wise we only won 1 game. Not much to say there...

Rolled 174, 156, 199 for a 529 series. I'll take it.
Average going into today was 157 due to the excellent last week roll.
Guess it'll stay up there.

Sorry, Mitch.
Remember I said last week I couldn't find my average?
Well, this week I blasted past it all three games.
After 3 weeks my avg was adjusted to 155 and the 4th that I bowled so poorly reduced it to 150.
This week I rolled 189,187,179 for a 555 series.
AND, the team won all three games! Bringing us up from sixth to third. WooHoo.
Now, of I can settle down and bowl my usual sweet spot in the 150's I will be thrilled.

Week 4: 151, 160, and then I found my mark and rolled a 236 for a 547 series. Right on my average for 2019 (183). Here's hoping next week I can have 3 consistent good games!

Team wise we only won one game. We're heading to the bottom quicker than we'd like!

I'm a little behind:

Week 2: 182, 168, and a 221 for a 571 series.
Week 3: 212, 165, and a 170 for a 547 series.

Both weeks I used my lighter ball. Less stress on the arm / shoulders. I just need more lane time (i.e..practice time!).

Team-wise, weeks 2 and 3 have not been kind to us. We have bowled OK, but our opponents have just bowled better. OH well, we do this for fun.

Week 1 results: 173, 193, and a 167 for a 533 series. Opted to use my heavier big hook ball and it had mixed results. But with only touching my equipment 2x since the end of season, Iím really not complaining.

Better still, team took all 4! I won all of my head to head points. I didnít see how many total points we won but we will be right up there.

Sanction fee for us went to $25 also. I heard it's $35 in Tucson.
Our lineage when to $16. We lost our sponsor so the prize fund will be missing a few hundred dollars.
I bowled 168,180,149 today.

We had our league meeting last night, followed by 2 free games. 144 and a 155. The one bright spot was I finished game 2 with 3 strikes! I had all 3 balls out, and the spare ball was working pretty well. I was using my heavier ball in game 2. This is the one that I have to throw left of center so Iíll start with it next week.

Sanction fees are up to $25 (I suspect that is nationwide), and our house just replaced all the displays (overhead and on the lanes) with the latest and greatest. So lineage went up a buck, but really that is not too bad (total per week with prize $$$ is $22).

I have some more free games to use by Saturday...not sure if Iíll get back then. In any case, Iím happy to be bowling again!

We had our league formation meeting today then used our free bowling cards (previously won at events) to have some fun bowling. I tweaked my knee in an off balance release and decided to stop after two games.
Next week we begin our 33 weeks. Unfortunately we are down to six teams of four due to people moving and dropping out. At least no one died this year (or last).

Since the 2018/19 season, I have been to the alleys 1x for practice (last month). I did knock out a pair of 200+ practice games!

I did order a new bag so I can carry in 3 balls (I had used a sleeve that sat on top of my two ball bag, but that bag was at EOL so opted for a new one with MUCH better wheels).

League meeting is on 8/27, we'll get some free games that night, and then league starts on 9/3. I don't think I'll get in any practice prior to then. Hoping for a better start this season, both team and individually.

Well, it has been awhile since anyone has posted to this thread. But, with winter leagues starting soon I imagine things will pick up.
I had a good nine tap summer. For the most part I bowled really well and made some of my fees back.
Next week is winter league sign up and team formation and 8/28 is our start date for the season.
I am looking forward to the regular bowling but uncertain how many people are going to show up. We are a small area and the league is old, plus there are always drop outs and people moving.

Last evening's results: 192, 181, and a 166 for a 539 series. Missed two 7 pin conversions, nearly unheard of for me, but when you don't throw the ball right...

Hit and miss with my plastic ball on cross lane conversions. Something I'll work on this summer. Game 3 should have been better but in the 10th I left a 2-10 and was not able to convert. Just one of those nights.

Thankfully my head-to-head opponent bowled worse and I was giving him 21 pins, so swept him, and our team swept all 4 as well! Great team night!

Not bad, Patrick.
I started out with a 190 then hit 150 and slogged in with a 147. Our team won all four, which was a good time for us.
Next week is position round and the following week is the finals.
Long season but a pretty good one.
