The way I deal with the (mostly) mild memory issues I have is to set up systems for doing various things. For instance, when I come home I always hang my keys on a hook outside the kitchen so that I'll always know where to find them when I'm looking for them again. If my husband takes my car and puts them somewhere else....he's likely to get woken up by me at 5:30 the next morning when I'm trying to leave for work and can't find my keys.

I have systems for how I do things at work, too, and if someone else comes along and gets in the middle of what I'm doing I'm just going to be lost when I try to pick it up. That has been an issue for me recently because people feel like I don't want for them to come into my department and offer to help me, but that's not the case. I just don't want to get so confused because of not having used my system for a particular task that I end up making a mistake, turning out incorrect test restults, and harming a patient.

You are so right MS takes everything to a new level. Age is definitely a factor. I have friends saying the same things about forgetting but it's not the same as with MS.

Ooh, I like that. "Alice in Wonderland!" emoticon That's much nicer than what I'm usually thinking.

I forget all the time. I remember one minute and forget what I was going to do the next. I forget simple words and it makes me feel like an idiot and people don't believe I forgot something that was so easy to remember. When I tell them I will think of it at a later time. They don't believe me and that night sure enough I all of a sudden remember the word or what I was going to do.

People say that happens all the time to them too; but it is different with MS. I find myself in closets or other rooms and forget what I went in to get. It's like Alice in Wonderland when she walks through the looking glass.

Fatigue, memory loss, incontinence, etc. are all symptoms of MS. emoticon

Remember to be yourself, because the people that matter don't mind, and the people that mind don't matter.

The quickest way to failure is to try to please everyone.

Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably..And never regret anything that made you smile.

I've come to realize that the difference in success or failure is not how you look, how you dress, or how you're educated. It's how you think!

I have daily memory issues, MS-related. I would never wish this on my worst enemy. Makes everything takes several times longer to complete or even get to. My husband has made up check lists for me - so when I do simple tasks, I can remember how. I'll give the link a try. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing this. I don't have a lot of trouble with my memory, at least not most of the time. But as I age, I find that I can use a little bit of help on that front as much as the next guy or gal...and sometimes even more. emoticon

There was much rejoicing!
