3.5 miles - day 2 of taper down....

I run at 6 a.m. I, too, hate to wake up early BUT I love that the weather is perfect then, the traffic is nil and my day is mine when it is done. Plus, if I wait I find 101 excuses not to go or I feel like garbage and don't run as well. Bring on morning runs for me!

Good luck to everyone running races this weekend!!!

@CIVIAV: Just go for that walk or a short run and forget the long run, you will be so glad! All a long run will do today is deplete your legs of glycogen and make them tired/sore for your half marathon. It can add NOTHING to your race at this point.

I followed the taper advice to the 't' and boy was I glad! My legs were so full of energy and rested, and my race went great. I am on the opposite end now, wrapping up the post race recovery period, and though I have felt like I could push more, I haven't.

You'll do great :)

Question: What time do you run? I am headed into summer vacation, which frees up my schedule a LOT. During the school year, though, I either run early (around 5 AM) or after work. I STINK at running in the late afternoon/evening, I'm tired and lazy. BUT I HATE getting up so early to run! It is always nice to have it done though, so I have been running with the roosters in the early morning.

Just curious if anyone else has this inner turmoil! emoticon

Four days to my first 1/2 and I'm edgy. Want to go for a long run and have been told I should not. Ok so thinking of it as excitement and I'll go take the dog for a brisk walk.

@absolutezero - Thanks!! As long as it's not too cold, the rain doesn't bother me much. It wasn't too heavy until the last 10 minutes. Still ended up being a great run.
