I keep trying to fit food I like into my calorie goal instead of making healthier meals. No wonder I kept going over my calories. I'm going to need a healthy cookbook.

Um at ate a 3 egg omelette with canadian bacon lean turkey american cheese and 2% fat reduced mexican cheddar emoticon .....at 1 o'clock in the morning. emoticon Oh and I went over my calories by almost 1000 today courtesy of this midnight snack.

I haven't been consistent with my diet and working out since I went on our trip to Florida on October 22nd. It has been a challenge, I have slipped up and ate all of my favorites and now I am here trying to get back on track. I just finished running 3 miles so it is a start...

I've been going over my calories during the weekend. I also haven't been burning my target amount of calories. Today I was good with my calories, hopefully I can get back on track with my exercise this week!

I drink to many home made lattes per day although there low fat it's still to much caffeine and hazel nut cream involved. emoticon

66 pounds gone as of June 22, 2010

Plan on reaching my goal by the end of Summer 2010! Through hard work and spark motivation :o)
I know life is to be enjoyed not regretted. Our decisions are our own, we must except the ones we make and live with them. So make them wisely :o)

Lol I love reading the confessionals. It makes me feel like we are in this together but anyway. I snuck one of my son's mini snicker bars last night. After i stayed away from it for two days. But he caught me by saying, "mommy whats that in your mouth!" I was mortified.

I had pizza for breakfast! Okay, I can explain. Of all places, my daughter's PreK class went on a field trip to Three Brother Pizza Restaurant this morning. I didn't want to have breakfast AND eat pizza, so I skipped breakfast and had pizza at 10:30 am. Lame, I know! My body let me know how disappointed it was getting that junk first thing in the morning!

I committed adultery on my diet....

I went to FL for 4 days and among other things ate cheddar biscuits, lava chocolate chip cookie, bacon covered scallops at Red Lobster. A pack of M&M's at the movies "Law Abiding Citizen" was really good. Chinese chicken and rice from the food court at the small. 3 Cinnabun sticks, chocolate covered almonds (1/4 lb), a chocolate chip muffin, banana nut muffin, fried chicken sandwich, (over the four days).

I am scared to touch a scale with a 10 foot pole.

I got on the scale early (I normally weigh on Saturdays) and was disappointed with the lack of a loss. That sort of thing normally throws me into a downward spiral where I consume too much food because I'm sad about not losing weight. I did, however, control myself so I guess that's a good thing!

stayed out too late this morning and forgot to make lunch for my foster son. gave him chicken nuggets of which i ate half because i was starving and i didnt even enjoy them. followed them up with cheese its straight from the box (at least i had the presence of mind to count them). emoticon

I feel you. I've been so up and down with my weight too.

Are you using food as comfort? or a Reward? I do that. I prayed to God, whatever you do, please don't take my foods away from me. When I'm tired I want to eat. When I'm mad I want to eat. When I'm frustrated I eat.

God told me I could have whatever I want, as long as I was willing to pay the consequences. I don't mind being overweight, black women look good when they have curves, but I don't like having knee pains and achy joints, and feeling tired all the time.

I never ever thought I could give up certain foods like my big breakfast of grits & eggs, sausage, waffles,and hash browns, soft drinks, or my reward foods of chocolate cake and chocalate chip cookies.

But I feel so bad--sickly, that I know I have to make a change.

I like having comfort foods and reward foods.I just recognize that about myself, so I just decided not to try NOT using food as a comfort or reward but to just replace my old comfort foods with new ones that I like as well. (I don't tell myself they're healthy, I just tell myself, its going to make you feel so good)

My comfort breakfast now is grapefruit, apples, melons, and grapes with a lean meat of steamed talapia or ground turkey with salt free lemmon pepper, and a small portion of salt free grits. I love it! It tastes good. (And it happens to be good for me.)

Instead of chocolate cake or cookies I now run to a box of raisins. (Which is having another beneficial effect on my digestive system.)

And if I want a cookie, I will eat one. (I have a whole bag of Chip Ahoy's under my bed right now.) I don't say no to myself. I just know that what I really really want is a long healthy life pain free, and eating a dozen cookies is not going to do that for me. So I'm happy to say, I still have a WHOLE baG of cookies under my bed right now.

My test was Sunday. I made a big breakfast for my family as I do every Sunday, but while they all were still sleeping I got up and cooked my breakfast and ate before cooking theirs. I didn't think I was going to be able to resist Belgium waffles and smoke sausage, so I had already given myself permission to indulge. But after cooking and serving everything on the table. They came and ate, and I didn't touch one piece of sausage, or waffle. I didn't want to. I cleaned the dishes and didnt nibble on a thing. I shocked myself.


Just FOCUS on what you really want. Its amazing but the brain will do what you really focus on. So find out why you keep going back to your old habits. It could be emotional. Replace your emotional favorites with other good one you really enjoy too.
