Thanks for the reply. i think maybe it is a safety stop. It is a weslo cadence g 5.9i
I bought it thru Walmart. com and dont know about the warranty. It is a good treadmill, just stops and every once in awhile I do have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to restart.
I think I will buy a new better quality surge protector as that could be the issue.

I told my hubby about the problem you're having--and he thought it could be something electrical--as he has had to replace the circuit boards on treadmills at the fitness center when they aren't working properly. He suggested unplugging it for a bit--and plugging it back in to see if it somehow can reset itself. Not knowing the type of treadmill, etc., he also wondered if it was still under warranty being only a year old--and maybe calling the company for their input on the issue. Hope you get the problem resolved and no more sudden stops!!

When it stops, how long does it take until it starts again? Same with when it stops, does the belt feel warmer--as my first thought was like a safety shut off happening. If something isn't fully lubricated, etc., could cause the motor to overheat possibly and why it shuts down. Other than shutting down, do all the control settings work normally? Hope more of our friends here can offer a few ideas and thoughts of what to check to resolve the problem.

I'm also going to check with my hubby for you when he comes home later today. He helps at our local fitness club and maintains alot of their equipment, replacing belts, etc., so maybe he has a few extra ideas of what to check or do.

once in awhile while im walking on my treadmill, it just stops suddenly and if i dont have a hand on the rail, i almost get bucked off. does this happen to anyone else?
i am wondering if the key just comes loose or what could be causing this.
my treadmill is only a year old and i cant figure out what is causing this.
