Good Morning team!

Denny, I'm so sorry about mentioning your weight. It looked good from here. (this is what I call, stick foot in mouth, wiggle toes.) Hey, it's only 5 pounds. You've held pretty good so far. We have to live so we can't get freaked out over a 5 pound gain. The trick of maintance is when the scale goes up a few pounds, to get it in check before it gets worse. We'll NEVER hold the same exact number on the scale on a daily basis anyway. I worked with a woman that had SAD. She had some kind of light in her house she would sit by for a little bit of time to get her thru winter. It's hard dealing with that. Try to remember, ice cream, chips and junk will NOT change how you feel. SAD is SAD and food won't heal it. Try one of those lights. Not sure what kind it was but I'm sure the internet can help you out. Stay strong and stick with us. Maybe we can get you thru the tough spots.

Cynthia, Once I find out where 78 is, I might just stop in and say hi. I'm thinking Cabellas can't be that hard to find. I might have to get some boy scout stuff there at some point anyway now that my son has crossed over and he'll need more things as we go thru it. I'll let you know when I need to go there. That'd be fun!!!

Now that the temps dropped, I really can't do a jump in the pool. Oh well. If the weather held a bit warmer, it wouldn't have been so bad to heat. Now, never mind.

Off to my day. Errands and back to cleaning up the house. I'm so sick of dust and dirt from construction. Hopefully it will be over soon.
Enjoy the day everyone.
Stay strong!!

Good morning everyone!

Cin--I am not that far from Hershey. It's about 40-50 mins, depending on the traffic on 78! It would be so cool if you guys would stop by the store. Just make sure I'm working on that day! I could always meet you there, even if I'm not.

Denny--I understand your seasonal issues. I feel bad if the sun is not out for a few days in a row, even in summer. I find it very hard to do any exercise this time of year.

Maryann--It always seems like I find a lot of things I want for myself when I am shopping for others. I saw a very nice coat in the Bargain cave at work the other day. I didn't buy it though.

I have off this coming Saturday, and that is going to be my day to clean up & decorate the house. I also need to do some work in the spare room. I'm getting my new desk delivered next Tuesday, and I need to straighten up a few things.

I'm off to the "real" job. Have a great day everyone1

Cin - glad you had a good time and glad you are back - missed you. Smart move not jumping in that pool!!

Denny - I know you can do it. I know what you mean about this time pf year though. It is always the hardest.

Cynthia - I would love to come visit your store sometime - it sounds awesome. Now that is my kind of shopping!!

Maryann - good job shopping for yourself.

I got my porch decorated yesterday and some up in the house. Next weekend is the tree. Have a good day everyone!!

Denny, I do believe you'll be fine this time. Think you have a real positive attitude and you've set your goals.

Cin, glad you decided not to try to heat the pool. You would go through a lot of fuel.

Dorothy and Cynthia, glad you both survived Black Friday. I did my shopping on the computer and ordered WIO and Zumba for the Wii and it's for ME!!! My kids were laughing at me.

Ronnie, you beat me with your decorations. I'll start next week.

Karen, hope your doing okay....thinking of you.

Have a great night everyone.

Cincin thanks for bringing my weight goal up. Nope I'm not there any more. I'm a SAD person(seasonal affective disorder, or something to that effect)cold weather, and short days don't work well with me and I've been eating crazy(Ice cream, potato chips, pie and the like). I reset my goal to what it was but in May 2011. So I begin a new struggle today. My doctor is happy with 172 - 175 so I'm not to far out but I'm on my way up and I don't want to be the 191 I was last Dec. 31 or the 200+ I was before.

To All, I hope every one had a fabulous thin Thanksgiving and I'll try my best to hang in there with you all.

cynthia, you sound like you're close to me. How far are you from Hershey? Those nuts sound so good. If you're close enough, I just might have to come visit, meet you and eat some nuts.

I'm tired. :(

Dorothy--Yes Cabela's has a restaurant upstairs. We call it the deli--I'm not really sure why. The Cabela's that I work at is in Hamburg, PA, right off of I-78 between Harrisburg & Allentown. It's the biggest & the best. :) I didn't work the nut cart much today--the other girl did. I was busy up in the deli all day. We were pretty busy again.

Cincin--sounds like a lot of details to think about with the pool. Nice that they should all be taken care of by the time summer comes around & you want to enjoy it!

Have a great evening everyone!

oh I hate when the posts don't work. Such a pet peeve of mine.

I'm back from CT and NY. Way too cold up there. A bit warmer here. No pool dipping yet. Waiting for gas guy to come hook up heater on Tues. Then hopefully the pool company can come and close it. Waiting on fence guy for thurs to start with fence. I'm nervous someones pet will jump in my pool for now. I think they are smarter than that, but still nervous. No, jumping in before we close it tho. It will cost a small fortune to heat it up to temps at this point. So it will wait until the spring.
I survived the food ordeal. Ate mostly protein and carbs and veggies. Not much desserts for me at all.

Sounds like everyone had a great holiday and did pretty well. Now off to the craziness of retail for everyone, working and shopping.

Denny, glad you popped in for a hello. It's nice to hear from you and you are staying at goal.

Have a great day all!!

I am really upset - I just had my reply post done and it would not post - lets try again.

Cynthia - is there a deli at Cabellas?? Where is the one that you work at?? We have often talked about visiting the one near Pittsburgh. I know what you mean about sleeping. It is hard for me to ever sleep in on the weekends because my body is so use to getting up by 5 am. Yesterday was a real treat. This morning my cat was playing with stuff on my dresser and I had to go to the bathroom. emoticon

Mary Ann - I cooked the turkey yesterday before I went to work. I also cooked cranberries and yams. Yum!! Work was not to bad - it was steady so time by fast and they gave me a break every two hours. 42 below in Maine is cold - BRR!! emoticon

Ronnie - hope you a wonderful day and stay warm.

Hello everyone! My sleep seemd to be messed up today. Yesterday I was getting up around this time for work, and my body seems to want to do it two days in a row!

Black Friday at the nut cart was not so bad. In fact, I was not there even the whole day. It was busy in the deli, so I went up there. Yesterday I worked in the deli from 5:00 AM until 2:00 and I thought it was busier than Friday. I think I will be on the nut cart today though.

Yesterday after work we went to a 50th birthday party for a friend who is turning 50. We had fun & it was good to see some people I had not seen in quite some time.

I think I might crawl back into bed and get some more rest now.

Morning spark friends!

Just wanted to stop by quickly. My daughter and son-in-law will be heading back to Rochester, NY later today.

Ronnie, I know what you mean by cold. When I head to Maine in the winter.....I forget how cold it can get. The worst I've ever been in was 42 below and I thought my parents windows were going to crack it was so cold. When we moved to PA, I said I was living in the south.

Dorothy, glad you got a good nights sleep and hope your day today isn't too bad. Will you be cooking the turkey tomorrow? I do love turkey but only cook a breast and do it on a Faberware rotisserie. Do the dressing in the oven. Now I can't wait to make turkey soup!

Karen, hope you've had a good holiday. How is your mom doing?

Cin, Cynthia and Denny hope you are all doing fine.

Have a great day everyone! Hugs.

Good morning ream - sitting and relaxing with a cup of coffee. I slept so hard last night and long - just got up abouat half an hour ago - that is very unusal for me. I must need the rest so I am listeneing to my body as I have a long shift at Walmart today. But...tomorrow is all mine emoticon

The turkey trot was so much fun with my two daughters - such an accomplishment for me - if anyone had said I would be doing an 8K at the beginning of the year I would have laughed in there face. I always say I am not a runner - but it was really fun!!

Cynthia - how was Black Friday behind the nut cart? It was not too bad last night at Walmart - steady but not too bad - except for the fact that the register I was running for the first two hours was not working properly. Frustrating for me and the customers.

Mary Ann - sounds like you were very smart. Hubby bought me a turkey yesterday to cook. LOL - I was going to buy a turkey breast as it is always nice to have a little left over meat - but it looks like he wants stuffing too - looks like that is going to take up some of my time. Hope all is going well with you and the family - I know you have had a rough time.

Karen - Hope all is going well with you as well,.

Ronnie - you hae a blessed day.

Cin - Did you take a dip in your pool yet?? We have snow on the ground this morning - just a dusting. It was so cold yesterday.

Den - it was good to hear from you - stop in more often.

Have a happy day all!!

Morning everyone!

For those of you dealing with all the crazy shoppers on this Black Friday....wishing you a relaxing evening and hoping you didn't have to get to work too early. I remember those days. Maybe that's why I have no desire to set foot in a store - I'll let me fingers do the walking through the computer!

The house is still quite so I've had the opportunity to track a little and check in. Had a great Thanksgiving. For one thing, cooked small portions of many different vegetables so that everyone could have their favorite. Worked out really well and don't have a lot of leftovers except for the ham and turkey.

Cynthia, maybe we'll have to stop in and buy some of those nuts! I'm not going to make any this year - just too darn tempting to have around.

Dorothy, try to have some you time this evening. You're probably going to need it.

Karen, Ronnie, Denny, Cin hope you all have a great day also.

Hugs to everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I hope you all have the opportunity to enjoy family and friends. I haven't forgotten you and still think you are the greatest. I have a lot going on in my life right now plus closing my second job of 18 years down by years end, so I haven't been posting very often and I hope you don't feel I'm letting you down.

Just quickly checking in while I'm tracking. Today left me with a big headache. You're right about counting your blessings...when I feel down, I try to think of all the wonderful, positive things in my life that I need to be thankful for.

Ronnie, I have heard that saying before but never knew where it came from or what it really meant. Try and stay warm.

I'm sure everyone will be busy tomorrow. So just in case I want to wish everyone a healthy, safe and blessed Thanksgiving. Hugs to all.

ronnie, you crack me up! cold as a witches t--. I've never heard that before. I'm still laughing. I'm going to use that. It's a bit chilly and cloudy here but nothing falling from the sky. I'm happy with that. Where are you that it's that cold?? I'm freezing just reading your post.

I love veggies too but I usually don't eat much on thanksgiving. we go to my mother in laws in CT and she prepares foods I don't really like. Not a fan of string bean casserole and she makes creamed onions and things like that. I'd rather have steamed veggies plain. But that is how I grew up and what I enjoy. Oh well. Leftovers at my sisters on Friday in NY will have to do.

Just popping in to say "have a good day!" I didn't log onto to Spark all day yesterday after I left for work, and this morning I have 18 e mails! That'll teach me!

I can't wait for Thanksgiving! I have to decide what dessert I am making, and I wish I was hunkering down for a winter storm like Ronnie is!

good evening everyone!

Just wanted to quickly stop by. I was involved with retail for 25 years but not always in the store - part was product service and the last part was the fashion distribution center. The holidays were always wild. Don't envy you guys.

I saw that there's Zumba for the Wii and I want to check it out.

Karen, it took my mom 2 to 3 months before she settled in and now it's really her home and she has a real love for several of the nurses.

Thanks for the support. Tomorrow will be the tough day with the wake, funeral then the luncheon. Their holiday will be so difficult. I can't wait for my kids to be here. They sure do light up my life!

If I don't get back on line, I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! I also can't wait for the veggies and I'm doing extras this year and starting with a fruit cup served in champagne glasses...yummy.

It was a very mild day here and rainy. I am hoping it is mild on Thanksgiving for the Turkey Trot. i did run 3 miles Sunday morning. Went to spinning class at noon today, zumba tonight, took son to cub scouts, and son got hair cut and I got eyebrows and upper lip waxed, Now a little relaxing before bed.

I love Thanksgiving - but I have to admit my favorite is all the wonderful vegetable dishes. And dessert of course. I usually load my plate up with veggies. I love to sit around the table with family and visit. Love it!! No presents. Just good company and good food. And turkey trot of course. Have a great nigth all!!

sorry you have snow already. It's so pretty here and nice chill in the air but not cold. Surprised we are in the same state. Weird for me, not used to that yet.

cynthia, those nuts sound yummy. I'm glad I'm not near them. I'd eat all of the profits.

Thanks all for the comps on the pool. I love it. No tootsies wet yet. Just my hand in the filter to pull out leaves. it's 45 degrees in that water. I have to still get the gas hooked up for the heater. Now with the rain, that's on hold. You all realize once the sod gets laid down, it will never rain again. I can't lay the sod until the gas is done. waiting on him for the call back to set up something. ugh. Long process.

Karen, enjoy the time with your mom. I hope she's doing okay there. keep us posted.

I'll be back in CT and NY for a few days over thanksgiving. so if I'm not back on, you'll know why.

Good morning evryone!

Karen--your Thanksgiving plan sounds like a good one. I joined the
Hold the Stuffing" challenge here on Spark and will not be stuffing myself eitherr. One moderate plate of food & a reasonable piece of dessert. I eat slowly, so no one at the table really notices that I haven't eaten all that much! Truthfully--I'm looking forward to the day off with my family more than the food! And yes--the nut cart has been mmoved to it's "Winter" spot, right inside the front door.

Karen--I too, an sure that your mom will adjust and all will be fine.

Cincin--the pool looks great!

Mary Ann--So sorry about the loss of your friend. What a shock and a hard pill to swallow.

Ronnie--have fun making all of those turkeys!

Dorothy--I'm right with you here working a lot! The advantage of working at a retail store over the holidays is that you can use your discount to shop on your lunch breaks!

I'm off to my "real" job today for only three days this week! WooHoo! Have a great day everyone!

emoticon everyone!

I'm not a big fan of Thanksgiving stuffing ones self either. We always spent the weekend down at the shore eating seafood. Plan to spend the day with Mom and then will head down to the beach. Need to winterize things before the predicted cold Dec! Thanks again for all you words of support and concern. But I think Mom will adjust. Fingers are crossed for sure.

Dorothy, I know you are making time for your Zumba and bowling inbetween your work schedule.

Ronnie, gosh, all those turkeys, you are really some busiy lady!

Cin, I just love your pool, it is going to be sooo much fun next year! So did you get your tootsies wet?

Mary Anne, again so sorry, please take care of yourself!

Cynthia, I'm sure you are going to very busy at Cabelas this season. Hope you don't have to sell those nuts outside all winter!

Denny, hope you had a wonderful fall sailing the the deep blue!!!!

HAve a great eve and week! emoticon

I noticed that too. My little station is right in near the front door at Cabela's. People just leaving with huge carts full of stuff. Amazing.

Hi all! Happy Sunday. I haven't been out shopping. I don't do Thanksgiving. I end up at mom in laws for food. Not a fan of the Thanksgiving spread so I don't worry about packing on the pounds this time of year.

Glad I'm not the only one noticing the lack of recession. We did a ton of travel this past year and there were people everywhere buying stuff. We thought having a recession was strange. But whatever.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend. Monday comes fast.

Good afternoon team, I'm telling you the stores are packed, not sure if it is the storm heading this way tonight or Thanksgiving shopping, but whoever said that we are heading for a recession has not seen these peoples carts, talk about loaded down, they are certainly not going hungry for awhile

Hope everyone has their turkeys ready for the pots because I just might be stopping by

It is such a scary world we are living in - from our garbage, to our air. We really need to get it all under control for our future generations. Have a great day all emoticon

Maryanne, How sad for the family. The good thing is, she didn't suffer long. Cancer is such a bad thing. We really need to look at our world these days, from chemicals in food/water/air to how we get our exercise and live our life.
Prayers to you and your friends family.

Hi everyone. Stopping by to ask you all to keep a dear friend and her family in your prayers. Doris lost her battle yesterday morning at 8 AM. Eight weeks ago she was a vibrant, funny lady complaining about feeling a little tired and having headaches. A week ago she ended up in the hospital and it was discovered that she had tumors in her brain and cancer in her lungs and spreading. She was one of the ladies I went to girls night out with on 1st Tuesday of the month. Hugs to all of you.

Hi Guys,
Snow and flowers. Strange mix of conversation.
Pool just got finished today. Still have to connect the electric to the filter and turn it on to make sure it's all good. Waiting on gas guy for hooking up heater then we turn it on full blast for a quick jump in before they close it. Came out really nice. I'll post a picture on my page.

Karen, So sorry about your issues with mom. That totally sucks. I know what you mean about them hurting her and having training where you don't. Have you put in your complaint to them? Not in a nasty way but let them see you care and will notice what goes on with your mom. Also DO NOT give your mom any of her jewlery. My mom heard the same advise and just didn't have the heart to take my grandmothers ring from her when they put her in a home. The ring went missing within a week. Please check her things and take the valuables home with you if you haven't done so already.
I wish you the best in this senerio. It's a really hard thing that we will all go thru or have been thru.

emoticon everyone and Happy Friday!
Been sooo busy the past week, trying to get Mom settled in. It has been such a hard move for her. Not sure I did the right thing. the facility is gorgeous and everyone is very pleasant, but they are a bit rough w/ moving and transfering her and have hurt her back twice now and she is in pain. Also she had been confined to a scooter for over 10 years and has never had an open sore on her bum and after 1 week here she has an open sore. I'm at my wits end and just don't know what to do. Why is it I can operate a lift and am able to move my mom without hurting her and have had no prior training and they can't? I'm sorry, I miss you guys and hope things get better and I can get back to sparking more.
Here's to a good weekend, hope you all Enjoy!
