Did you ever have one of those days that you just do a bunch of little things around the house that nobody else notices, like changing the shower curtain liner, cleaning grout, the kitchen sink, wiping windowsills, shaking rugs, etc? That is today for me. All that counts is that I feel accomplished.

Yesterday was the best day of the month for me. My birthday was Friday, Oct. 23rd. Well we didn't do much for my birthday. No cake or anything but it was a decent day. Well Sunday Oct 25th was the best day. My daughter age 21 and my son age 16 planned a surprise birthday party for me at the Bowling Alley. I was so surprised. My son drove us there and my daughter and friends were there waiting for me. I didn't even know she was coming down as she lives 2 hours away so with our schedules it is hard to be able to see each other. We do text every day. She pretended through text to be at work. I really had no clue but it was the best day of my life. I loved it. I am still so happy today and don't care if I have a little weight gain because I had 2 cupcakes and some cheese fries.

We took a day trip today: Up the shores of US 23 to Oscoda, stopping at Lake Huron in the park in East Tawas for lunch, walking. We then went to the Point to the lighthouse. We walked at the beach there, nobody around until we left. We then went to Van Ettan Lake and spent a little while there.

I am very familiar with the area and almost retired up there. I am glad I did not now that the water is seeping with the chemicals from the Base.

We all struggle, The important thing is that we don't stop trying, My doctor tried taking me off my water pill and I gained 2 pounds in 2 days just from drinking all my water. So I called her and told her I needed it and explained why and now I am back on it. How can you gain 2 pounds when all you have been doing is eating 1000 calories and walking 60 minutes a day and some small strength training. So I am just going to have to keep trying because I know that water weight is not going to fall right off just because I am taking the water pill again

@TABATHA_CAIN ..i crave a little chocolate...but mostly carbs. gluten-filled carbs. noodles, breads, bagels. sometimes i will get dark chocolate chips from the baking aisle and let them melt in my mouth one at a time. slows me down a little so i don't eat as many. oh! french fries with ranch. a-n-n-n-n-d now i want fries for breakfast.

yesterday was a travesty, complete with mini-meltdown, but i still stayed within my allowances for calories and carbs and (i think) met all my goals for challenges, feats, etc. i am stupid amounts of proud about that.

today is gonna be better. hope you all are well!

Ate way to many M&M;s today. Every month I go through the same thing. Stupid female body. I hate when I can't stay away from chocolate. I am sure I am going to gain a little weight but I will have to deal with those consequences. It is just something I go through every month. I know it is because of hormones, but I wish I didn't have that problem.

I got my shingles vaccine booster yesterday and I feel awful today. I have pain in that arm and sick to my stomach - BTW these are normal side effects for this vaccine. I did manage to do 30 min on WIO and have to tutor online for a couple of hours. Supposed to be in the 90ís today. I hope I feel up to swimming this afternoon.

Got a new to me stove yesterday. It has self cleaning and it is gas so no pilot to light. It started on its own. Yay for electric ignite. I love my new stove. It is great. My other one the oven stopped working on it. So I put it out on the curb wrote that it was scrap and some one picked it up a couple hours later.

Had a great Weekend. My daughter is getting married in Oct 2021. We got her wedding dress yesterday. We got it from Facebook Marketplace. They lady let my daughter try it on and it fit perfectly other than the length. We all started crying she was so beautiful. I knew this would be her dress when she sent me a pic of it. I love it.

Good Morning Michigan -

I hope you all are well. I am doing great. The doctor put me on an appetite suppressant because I was starving all the time even though I was eating all the right stuff. So I still eat all 3 meals I just don't feel the need to constantly eat and it is helping my cravings. I am working hard. Going to get the weight down. Looks like in my area we are suppose to have storms tonight. I hope everyone stay safe if they are facing storms as well.

Maybe add fruit and try lower sodium bacon or sausage if you want added protein other than eggs. Low sugar oatmeal or 1%, 1/2% or fat free milk with cereal if you have that could help.

We got a little lucky as we are just far enough away from Midland and Sanford, but we still have minor flooding issues here in Bay City. Kind of ironic that Midland has too much water and Flint is still suffering with bad water.

I hope everyone is doing well and quarantine has treated you well. It is hard to lose weight when you are stuck at home. I gained 12 pounds from quarantine. I am now back at work and getting more exercise and am better able to control what I am putting in my mouth. Have a great day everyone.

DD and myself were very ill with the same symptoms that they tell us that present in covid. It lasted for almost a month, with both of us overlapping in illness by a few days, as she was exposed first. It started in late December and finished out in January. I do think we may have had it then.
I had just gotten out of the hospital before Thanksgiving after a heart cath, etc, being on telemetry floor hooked up to everything they threw at me.. I do not think I would have survived it I had gotten it right after being discharged.

Hi everyone, new to this chat, though have been on spark 4evah! & also on this team, but inactive here. Have lost 20/25 pounds or so in 2020 (goal is 100 this year, another 100 the next), partly because my thyroid Rx adjusted in Dec.

Was an early covid prepper, because it seemed so obvious to me that it was going to be a problem, and I live with my 2 folks, both octogenarians, helping them (dad's pretty frail tho mom still (over)does most of her stuff, and is *feisty* about many things). Anger about how the federal govt didn't start/co-ordinate a good testing program in Jan or early Feb & then how Sparkpeople members were argumentative/annoyed about it here meant I left spark March until recently, which meant I stopped tracking & also slowed movement, so weight loss slowed, stopped, & even started to reverse a few pounds. A week or so ago I was just bored, so worked out & then again the next day again, so I wanted to track it, so I got back into tracking, & then back into spark, & people more reasonable here now. Interesting about how today's reporting that there were outbreaks much earlier than previously known. All along, I had thought that all my 3 siblings' fams had had it, but my folks and I did not, which was unusual with the late winter, early Spring diseases, especially in such a relatively mild winter (tho Jan wasn't), so I was extra cautious. My 8 year old niece in Lansing had a 103F temp for awhile in late Jan & early Feb, & tested negative for flu then. That household was sick for a fortnight, on and off; literally all were home together for a week. We visited them March 1, & it was a calculated risk that we took, knowing it might be quite a while before we could do it again, and my mom had to store up her granddaughter memories, post winter holidaze. Anyway, that's basically my story.

My sparkin' plan: I'm not super low-cal, but still eating less than I used to, but not as low (1200) as I have on previous Spark years. Mostly I just track, & get anywhere from 1500-2200 depending on how I feel, especially lately; I've been losing weight even at the higher end, though biggest losses during lower end. I kind of alternate by week or half week which end. Most of my calories are not junk but nutrient dense (tho I let myself have a 'treat' that's junky, like sugar or white flour, most days, especially now, for my mental health, and because fresh fruit (my go-to treats often, in normal times) is out before resupply days, like today (I've resupplied twice since we self-q'd after that March 1 visit to Lansing, & also got some fresh stuff once from my sis, an essential worker also here in Kzoo, was going to the store & did a resupply run for us.Today, I'm making a (whole wheat) pizza, as I have some ww flour to use up, before it goes bad in the summer's heat (ww goes 'sour' or acrid faster than regular, & I'm not going to use our limited freezer space to keep it longer).

I try and workout up to 2 hours a day, (I also love it when I can burn as many or more cals than I eat in a day, but that hasn't happened lately) and do a minimum 10 minutes, with at least one day week, sometimes several with only the minimum exercise. I am lucky to have a trailhead a few houses down the road (we live in a rural-suburban area) but tick season is here, and I don't enjoy rain walks very much, so I haven't been on the trail in a few weeks; did spend some time outside gardening & doing yard work. Mom's had 2 ticks gardening & I've already also had 1, weeks ago. I mostly spin on an old exercise bicycle or do low-impact aerobics and weights while watching news.

Be careful out there Michiganders & Michiganians!! We are supposed to peak covid on the W side of the state in a couple of weeks, and Detroit area, hopefully, has already covid-peaked. Both Chicago & Detroit were secondary q sites for some of the cruise ship people. I was so sorry to hear about the death of the lovely little Detroiter 5 year-old girl, who's mom's a cop & dad's a fire-fighter, earlier this week. Glad most people are being smart & staying home.

Good Afternoon Michigan Sparkers.

I hope you all are doing well. Things are going good here. It is the new year and I have been smoke free since October 11, 2019 and I am going strong. I keep bouncing between the same 4 to 5 pounds and it is really frustrating me. I want to eat everything in sight. I am trying to drink more to make myself feel fuller as well as just not have thing to eat around me. I eat my planned meals and that is all I allow myself. I walk twice a day for hopefully 45 minutes at a time. That is if I don't have a customer interrupt my walks. I try to go to the gym with my son and friends after work but that doesn't always work out. I really want to get this last 42 pounds off and start my maintenance mode. That is going to be just as hard as getting it off until I figure out the right combination of exercise and calorie intake. Things are going great right now. I am doing well at work and I am working hard at weight loss. Sometimes though the bad habits sneak back and smack me in the face. I have to fight to keep them at bay. I got this though. I am going to do it.

Seratonin levels drop sharply when you quit smoking. Drink a lot f water to feel full, ask doc about deficiencies too.. They may prescribe serotonin or Nicorette,etc..
