Taren welcome back! Hard to believe we have been here almost a year, huh! I have lost 24 lbs. BP is down, blood sugar is back in normal range too! :) Now to keep losing. I have been playing with the last 5 lbs for too long! Thanks for the encouragement!

I know that i'm posting on this message board a couple months late, but i don't check in to this sparkteam very often and today was one of the days. I wanted to see how people were doing almost A YEAR after joining sparkpeople. I haven't lost a lot of weight and i've actually kind of went up and down and got frustrated and quit working out for awhile or got sick and couldn't workout for awhile. But Sparkpeople has helped me always come back and get into the routine again. I love sparkpeople for that reason. I feel great when i exercise on a regular basis. SP has helped me figure out how much i need to eat based on the amount of calories i'm burning and it has helped so much in the last couple months especially. I started p90x and it recommends i eat way more that i'm ever willing to eat and with the amount of calories that i'm burning even SP recommends below 2000 calories which makes me more comfortable. I'm currently on day 24 of P90X and have lost 5 almost 6 pounds from it. So that is super exciting.

Dee you can do it. Summer is so easy with so many fruits and veggies available. Just don't try to make changes too drastic. Make changes that will be come routine and do it slowly. Remember the turtle and the hair! :) God's Best!!

Ready to start it up again. 35th Class reunion along with a challenge put out by my significant other. I have until 9/10/10 to lose 10 lbs. This is more than enough time to get the job done....... emoticon , again.

Since starting here on SP, I have learned so incredibly much about diet, exercise, and everything around and in between. Though I'm no perfect angel when it comes to exercising regularly or putting only healthy things in my mouth, the invaluable information and comraderie I've found here has helped me to:

- Lose 48 pounds
- Run in my first 5k
- Complete a 23-mile bike ride
- Dramatically improve cholesterol, tryglicerides, and all those other health indicators -- all now in healthy range.
- Eat produce every day and like it!
- Participate in life more because I feel happier about myself.
- Set a good example for my children (and husband).
- Inspire others, including one teenage student who has now lost 20 pounds and is exercising like crazy.
- Get to see profile pictures as adorable as LKEITHO's in this thread.

Oh has this been a ride, this process hasn't been always a piece of cake...I think the worst is over so bye bye to the old hello to the new improved me. I'm gleaming from the inside out. On SP I have lost 26 pounds emoticon I can see the progress I'm making. I'm feeling good about how I look. Happy Tuesday!

Our computer issues seem to be solved enough that I can use it again! So good to be back. I have learned how important the Accountability is!!

Am exercising more regularly and eating better too now that I am back! Today's weigh in showed me I am just 1 lb above my lowest weigh in!! Yippee!!

I'm going away next Sunday for a week. I said I only want a weekly update of Spark Things. I hope that's enough to keep my box kind of clean. I have enjoyed being a member, but I spend too much time on the computer. Making life more simple, I hope. I have learned a lot, too in the months I've been part of this. Thank you. Lorraine

I am halfway to my goal wieght & have 22.5 more to lose. Exercise has become such a big part of my life! I had surgery on a toe this week & can't do cardio. Boy do I miss it!!! I did find a great resistance band workout with Coach Nicole that I can do while sitting down. At least I am doing something! We still eat out a lot, but I try to research before we choose a restaurant & have been losing slowly. That is fine with me! It means that I don't have to give up eating out.

Hi everyone, It's great to hear that everyone has had something positive to say about their journey. I have lost a few pounds but more importantly I have gotten myself back into regular exercise and feeling good. I still need to work on the daily total amount of calories, so that I can get back to losing.

hello class! Still here after 8 months. I have lost a total of 64 pounds so far, and only have 20 more to go to my first BIG goal. But I have gained so much more. I have learned about being healthy, learned to like new foods, to dislike some things I used to eat. I have cutback my intake to a point that eating what i used to would literally make me sick now. I feel so much better physically, and cant wait to see what happens next.

I feel that I am in maintenance although I still want to lose more pounds. It seems I got to 124, gained 3 pounds on vacation & I lost them in a few days once I got home, and am still at 124 or a bit minus. I think I was 135 when we began so this is good even so. Lorraine

Hello class! First of all I have to say that everyone is doing great! I have lost 8lbs since I have been here. When I joined I was 168lbs at that plateau stage trying to lose these last 15lbs. Also like others, back and knee problems have slowed things a bit. I was 220lbs a year and a half ago and I lost 45lbs before I joined. Using another class members visual if I may, that would be 15x 4lb bags of sugar. I cannot believe how much that would look like. I will have to find out.!Thank you for that, that is a very rewarding visual! I love all the info and support here!

Overall, things are going really well! I love the feeling of community, and I really enjoy communicating with all my new SparkFriends! I'm down 30 pounds since joining - not as much as I would have liked, but still great, plus I feel like I am much more motivated to keep it off. Congratulations to everyone who is making progress towards their goals!

Haven't managed to lose many pounds, but I have increased my steps to an average of 4,000 from 2,000 and am now starting to do water walking. The back and knee problems threw a wrench in things, but they are finally getting under control so hopefully the weight will get better soon!

I love all the info you get on here it helps in so many many ways. I love SP and I tell everyone about it. I ran my first 5K today in 33 minutes so proud of that because I never run 3 miles I only do 2 so that was a great accomplishment for me

SP has been such a blessing to me! I started my life change mid July and joined SP a couple of months later. The total I have lost is 25 lbs and I never thought I'd be able to lose so much so quickly (compared to how it was gained). (I lined up 6 - 4 lb bags of sugar at the grocery store to get a visual of what I had lost!! Woo Hoo!!)

For almost the entire month of May our home internet has been down and I have realized how many of SP lessons are really routine habits, but also how much logging daily helps with motivation. I really miss SP and hope to be back regularly soon.

I am on a mission!! So far I have lost 60 pounds!!! The biggest thing Spark has given me is the motivation to get up and go. I haven't really changed what I eat because I love to cook and all, but I eat more often and less. I put in 3-4 hours a day of busy work. Either walking, cleaning, errands, whatever to keep me going and active. I drink tons of water now, which is something I never did before, and I sleep so much better.

I cann't express how much SparkPeople has helped me these past eight months. I am on a strict dietary regimen with set goals for weight loss and everytime I feel like eating a scoop of peanut butter I just get on Spark for awhile and I am rejuvenated and ready to keep saying "no" to pleasure foods and "yes" to loving myself. My current goal is to reach 150 by 07/11/10, but whatever happens I know I am still moving in the right direction. Thank you SparkPeople!
