I'll have to see if I can get that to work. I've been sweating so bad lately that I'm dehydrated, no matter how much I drink. Maybe I can make a cotton baggy and hang it around my neck on some twine or a chord.

The sweating is even worse when you're a Mormon. emoticon I feel like I'm drowning.

Thanks for the ideas, gals.

I'm not a runner but I do a lot of power walking and bleacher climbing. I have a cotton cloth between my waist and the waistband of my shorts when I'm out to protect it from sweat. It seems to work for me but everyone sweats differently. Just a thought.

No problem Vicki, we will always be awaiting your return!

I can understand not wanting to stretch out the FB and I was going to suggest the holster but obviously you have tried and found it is not for you. That is a shame!

The waistband is thicker than the bra on most of my shorts, and I don't want to encourage another cracked FB. Running bras have a nice wide spot for it, close to but not right on the skin. (I don't like that holster thing.. certainly not for running, and I don't want it to rub on skin when I'm running. Sometimes I use the little key pocket most running shorts have, but that doesn't seem as accurate. Depends on the pocket.

Raul- I'll be back in the weekly challenges after the summer! I am running a trail half marathon next week and am doing ok.. just not tracking as much, as I said. (and just realized it's not on me.. i do still hate when I think it's on and it's not!) emoticon

I am curious, why not wear your FB on your waist when running Vicki?

Yeah, I know. I haven't been wearing mine as much in the summer because of the sweat and the pool! Hard to get a good placement for sweaty running but the running bras are still the best, it isn't right ton the skin. Wearing it on my foot or arm is not an option due to inaccuracy there.
On another note.. I also stopped wearing it to bed.. I did for 7 months and my sleep was getting worse and worse! The first night I logged my sleep w/out wearing it.. interesting to note that it said 3 minutes to fall asleep in "normal" and 8 on 'sensitive'.. it wasn't on at all. I haven't bothered logging since then but I have been sleeping better! I guess there was just something about knowing it was on me that interfered with my sleep.. wanting it to know that I was awake would prolong my being awake!

But be careful wearing it on your bra if you are sweating a lot. I do have a new Fitbit on the way from that little experience. emoticon Fitbit is soooo nice about that.

Don't wear it on your shoe! It is not accurate anywhere but torso and will think you are "very active" when you're not. I doubt the waist would help..honestly if you are moving your feet it should work anywhere on torso.. I find bra to be as accurate as waist. It is all tied to steps and movements, but again.. will go wild on arm or leg!

mine says i am sedentary alot more than i thought it would.. but i am standing too, maybe we should wear it on our wrist or shoe, when cashiering? as that is the parts moving so much. the side to side stepping and slinging groceries.. but i do get the calories in and out thing, that has helped a lot on starting the weight loss..

Well, my fitbit gave me 98 FLOORS when I hiked last week! Still my sedintary "pie" was high. Odd.

I'm mostly OK with it because I'm still losing weight, when I wasn't before I got my FitBit. Maybe I am burning more calories than it realizes... emoticon

I do a lot of standing too, and hate that FB can't distinguish.. though I suppose that would require a whole new more $ technology.

You might try walking in place when you can so you can get some lightly active minutes :)

You can at least get credit for standing and working by logging in manually the time you are cashiering. You will at least get lightly active. :)

Perhaps it because you are standing basically in one place and not moving around more

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much A true friend reaches for your hand but touches your hea
