@FLASHBACKGIRL Thanks for posting. Husband took us all for a surprise fishing weekend.

I tend to be a visual person and had to look this one up. I also like using props. I thought this would be a good addition to your post.

Go ahead and do random all you want KD! Thanks for posting!

I have just been choosing poses that fit within my theme. They were mostly borrowed from Accesible Yoga (Jiwan Heyman).

emoticon MODIFIED KING DANCER POSE (Very modified)

1) Stand with your feet 12 inches apart and facing the wall

2) Gain stability through both feet. Make sure you are standing upright. Roll your shoulders back to open up the chest.

3) Bring your left hand to the wall and slide it up.

4) Grab your right foot and bend your knee (move your right knee so that it is slightly behind you to feel that nice stretch in the quads.)

5) Take your hand off the wall and notice how it feels. Don’t crunch your toes in order to achieve balance. If you feel a need to do this then keep hand on the wall. Focus on a point.

*Breathe and stretch. Smooth inhales and exhales (3-5)

6) Try to move your right knee EVEN FURTHER back.

7) Test your balance again and make sure you feel steady. Remove left hand from wall. Feet relaxed. Focus on a point.

8) Stay in this pose for 3-5 breaths before switching sides.

*You may not even need support of the wall at all.

~Namaste~

Our crazy campaign adventure has come to an end for now so I'm trying to get back to some level of normal. I don't have access to the series @FLASHBACKGIRL was using, so excuse me for grabbing from random sources.

Sore Lower Back: Chair Twist

A favorite pose to ease back pain is this easy adaptation of Ardha Matsyendrasana, which you can do at your desk anytime. "Sitting up tall, start with a deep breath. On the exhale, rotate the whole torso toward the left. Place the right hand on the left thigh or chair seat, take the left arm to the back of the chair (or if on the floor, to the floor). Take five breaths, becoming aware of the stretch through the rib cage on the inhales, and moving into the space your body makes on the exhale. Switch sides."

I still want to continue with my series “Wakeup/Rise and Shine”

Last month most of the poses were ones you can do in bed. I included one standing pose called Talasana, Palm Tree pose.

Moving on.more standing poses.....to shoulder, arm and wrist stretches.

Extend arms in front and move wrists up and down. Feet should be no more than 12 inches apart.

Extend arms out to the sides, and move wrists up and down again.

With extended arms out to the sides, push your hands against an invisible wall and feet the nice stretch in your shoulders, wrists and hands.

Bring your elbows in and do swimming motions with hands. Arms extend out to the sides and then back to centre, sort of like breast strokes.

Now repeat the above swimming movements but come up on your toes and back down again in sync with your arm movements (INHALE as your arms come out, EXHALE as you bring them back in).

Remember to sync your breath with all above movements.

It may seem like these are separate movements but they are one short series for the shoulders, wrists and arms.

Tomorrow will be modified king dancer pose. ~namaste~
