I did have a good day today, actually. I took Cassie for a walk out in the light rain, went to the gym, went and saw a friend, got information on how to split up my Christmas Cactus and transplant it (even if I didn't understand what she said and will have to take the cactus down and have them show me) and did a little shopping. Now I have a cat on my arm and my dog next to me. While others thought the day was dreary, I thought it was really nice.

I have several definitions of great days - getting enough sleep, having time to read, enjoying tasty meals with my husband, visiting with my daughter and/or her son, getting in a good exercise workout, and more. Lots of ways to have a good day. If I tried for perfection I would always be living in disappointment, and there's no point in that.

I won't say perfect but a day entirely devoted to GENEALOGY of course is one of the best. emoticon
Last week a friend and I spent the entire day at the county archives (we were there when it opened and still there at closing). emoticon It was heavenly I found a lot of information on my families. emoticon

Had a great day yesterday at a family reunion. Today got to get together with more cousins from the other side. My granddaughter was with me. Then we went to the hotel pool with my brother and his wife. Tomorrow we are going to a state park and expect another great day.

I don't know about perfect, but I love a good/great day. There are lots of ways a good day could happen for me, though they are not as frequent as I would like.

A great day could be a day when:
--I get a lot accomplished
--I overcome obstacles
--I help people
--I feel supported, understood, loved...

Totally relaxed travel time. They take many forms. Sitting in a chair on the beach, shore, or riverbank watching the water and the wildlife. Taking my time to see something I've never seen before. Just driving or walking in beautiful surroundings. A concert or picnic or amusement park. Basically anything I enjoy doing with one key ingredient. A relaxed pace. Mostly that means my wife and I or just me. We do almost everything together and are simpatico.

I guess a day with really good friends like when we celebrated some birthdays yesterday. I don't really have many "perfect days."

A perfect day is a day everyone is healthy and we can hang out together. With my Daughter and her family about once a week. My mom and sisters every other year. My son and his family, I guess they are ok. Sometimes I get a call 3X a year

What is your idea of a perfect day? How often are you able to achieve this?
