THAT sounds like my HUSBAND.

MY dad used to sit with us at the dining room table as we ate supper. He'd look past us out the window up above the bookcases and quesiton, "What IS that?"

Then when we'd turn and look, and not find anything, we'd look back at our food to discover he was sneaking our plate away!

Then he'd just sit there and chuckle.
He had a great chuckle.
I miss him.

Today is the 4th anniversary of my Father-in-law's passing. Hubby is spending the day with his mom. I thought that was very thoughtful of him.

Grrr. Strngngrnded! That reminds me of my mother.
When I would complain of an ache and pain and was worried about it, I would say, "Mom, my arm hurts when I do THIS." And she would say, 'Stop DOING that, then."

no sympathy.

When I started dating and married my husband we both had a Harley. After my husband passed away I knew I wouldn't be riding anymore. I sold both of them and I really don't miss riding.

1. Well, I SAT on a motorcycle once. Doesn't that count? I have a photo of me in my graduation cap and gown sitting on my neighbor's motor cycle. We took that photo because I have another one that shows him teaching me how to ride a bike when we were little.

2. This same person, wrecked on his motor cycle. Got seriously scraped up and I'm thinking he broke a leg. Not sure.

3. I'll never forget the call I got while I was at work. My hubby and I had been dating for about 6 months. He called and said one of his best friends had just been killed. He was riding his motor cycle up and down the road in front of his own house, hanging out with friends, when his front tire hit a man-hole cover and flipped him. Sent him through the air into a wood pile, the mirror of the cycle went through his belly. He was only 18 or 19.
My boss sent me home early and when I got there my mom and dad were at the kitchen table and I had to break the news. I remember my dad crying. I think HE had recently lost a friend from work from a heart attack. That was the first time I saw my dad cry.
The second time, was when my sister died of cancer at age 48.

4. I always liked motorcycles. My cousins and I would pretend that we were runaways, grown up and saving people. My grandma's driveway was our Semi that we would ride our motorcycles up into to hide from people trying to find us. It was cool. lol Kinda like Knight Rider, but before it came into being. I was really into Charlie's Angels and Nancy Drew type shows. :)

I don't ride, but like many of you have seen riders that either forgot to take a course in safety, or decided they were to good a rider to pay attention

Objects in the mirror will get thinner than they now appear

I do not ride motorcycle either. What irritates me is when I'm going the speed limit on a freeway and one comes from behind me, passes, and most likely changes lanes and is going so fast is soon beyond my sight.

It seems they have their own speed limit ...:(

Personal goal is to weigh in 159 by the end of May 2019. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THE GOAL OF REACHING 151 IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS! Summer of 2014 I gained 10 pounds of it back while traveling to the BVI's and Ireland so I have set a new goal for 2019 to be back to below 155.

I always leave plenty of room for those on motorcycles. Unfortunately I see so many of them doing things like cutting in and out of traffic and going way too fast. One of my daughters friends lost his life showing off on a motorcycle.

MOTORCYCLE SAFETY AWARENESS MONTH

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. With warmer weather, itís time to remind everyone to be on the alert and to share the road with motorcyclists.

Riders who have been cooped up all winter are excited to be out on the road again, but that shouldnít stop them from using caution.

Both motorcyclists and motorists need to be aware of their surroundings. Checking blind spots, mirrors and using turn signals are necessary when changing lanes and when passing.

Distracted driving has been on the rise, too. Distractions during driving could mean the difference between seeing a motorcyclist or not when preparing to change lanes. Donít let one text change anyoneís life forever!

Riders need to take precautions as well. Take a defensive driving course, wear protective gear and keep your bike in its best working condition. Also, be aware of any road hazards and dangerous weather conditions.

Most of all, enjoy your ride and make it home again!
