I just don't understand why everythinng has to be done with an IM injection. If they could give a polio vaccine in a cube of sugar, why can't they fix anything else to work that way? Also, why do they blame unvaccinated for giving vaccinated people the disease. Vaccinations are supposed to make people immune, but they don't

I know that many people can't be vaccinated because of medical reasons. Did not mean to offend you. For those of us that can be and have no medical reason not to we should. That will help protect the more vulnerable people in our society. Kind of like Polio or Rubella, only mild side effects, if any, for the bulk of the population.

There are reasons for people not wanting to get vaccinated other than politics. If a person has allergies it can be dangerous to be injected with something that might include something you are allergic to. Here they don't even let you know what the ingredients are until AFTER you get the vaccine. Others have problems with always getting the worst side effects a drug can have. Also could have a problem already that the vaccine could make worse. People who are constantly pushing people to get that vaccine just cannot understand that there are physical reasons a person might not get it. And that includes Fauci, who keeps claiming there aren't any side effects even though there have been many people end up with heart disease from it.

I should not get political. Many people cannot be vaccinated for many reasons. Those that can - should.

Our restaurants are back to normal now, though they still say that unvaccinated people need to wear masks to get in the restaurant. It doesn't really make sense since no one wears masks inside the restaurant. It's outside that would be less dangerous.

It has been several months now that the restaurants have been entertaining people inside. They just kept the seating at 6 foot and it worked out. Some also had the option to eat outside. I am glad we are almost back to normal, emoticon

I have only done take-out or eaten at home or my friend's. I want to pick something up tomorrow that I have been wanting or else some Chinese. I am not sure about the Chinese place during this, though. It's a very small take-out place (one of those hole-in-the-wall places) but they have really good food. I really don't eat in restaurants much, anyway. When I do, if I have to leave the table to go to the restroom they always take everything away and give my table to someone else. Guess that's what happens when you go alone. I even left something personal at the table once so they wouldn't do that and they threw my stuff away.

It seemed so strange one day she was posting and next day she wasn't.

I haven't eaten in a restaurant since March.

Carol, I didn't notice you had asked about St. Louis Woman. I remember that Sandy wrote she was backing off some of her team activity, but I didn't know she had left completely. I know that she was having some physical problems the last few years, but I thought it was from knee replacement or something. I hope she is okay.

I haven't had any kind of vaccines since I was around 10 when I ended up paralyzed from them. So, no, I haven't had the vaccine. I can't remember what I was reading on the vaccine and the disease, but it was not making much sense to me. It was on the notes from the doctor appointment, though. I am just hoping the meds work. They worked really well when my Mom had shingles. Hers didn't really seem to hurt her bad (at least she said it didn't), but mainly itched.

Just curious if you took the Singles vaccine they recommend before you got on the verge of getting it?

I took the vaccine injection several years ago and so far I have been lucky, I guess? It is my understanding that if you have had the injection, then the outbreak will not be as severe.

After talking to the PA and going in to see her, they decided I don't have COVID. It is possible I am on the verge of getting shingles and I am on treatment for that so that it doesn't turn into full fledged shingles. Right now it is a inflamed nerve that comes down the side of a head. The PA I saw was so sharp and the only one I talked to who could understand where the pains hit. After diagnosis she conferred with my regular doctor who agreed with her. I had never heard of that nerve problem.

We had a friend who had polio in his teens (my parents age). Back then they would do weird things to try to get your muscles to work for you. They took muscles from his core to fix leg muscles. From what I was told, he was able to walk with a cane for a while, but I didn't know him until he was on crutches. I guess they improved treatment after that because I didn't know a friend of mine from college ever had it until she started getting post polio syndrome. They never got rid of the entire thing in people who had it. I can remember the vaccines in school. We all stood in line and got our sugar lumps.

This COVID is definitely confusing. I have had a headache and earache and a little bit of sore throat (next to the affected ear) and to have it looked at I have to get COVID testing after a telephone appointment with a PA. The only thing that is a COVID symptom is the sore throat and I can pinpoint exactly where it comes from.

Hope you all stay safe, both from the virus and from rioters.

I remember my mom telling me not to play in the gutter because I would get polio. I had 2 friends who were crippled with it. I was about 5 or 6 when the vaccine came out and my parents could sign us up fast enough.

I recall the fear that my parents had before there was a cure for polio. The young newly married woman that lived two houses away from us came down with polio. She was crippled with it but they managed to have children. We were not allowed to go to their house or play with her children for fear we would contract it.

Right now there is a lot of protesting going on here and all across the country. There are certain area's of town you should not be in. We had curfew from 7:30 pm to 6:00 am this morning. It is not safe to go out for any reason! What next?

I've been staying distant by staying home. I would like to make some of those masks, but i don't have anything to make them with and I don't think I should go out. My cold has gotten worse, but no fever.

Mostly I've been on the computer, but they have a scavenger hunt going on and I am making pictures for that, and I've been participating in an Isolation Art Challenge (not very good at that). I might get started doing something else, who knows. I've been making soup for my meals since that lasts longer.

Today there was an article about some guy in Tennessee who couldn't sell his garage full of hand sanitizer because Amazon wouldn't let him gouge people anymore. Seems he and his brother went to all the stores they could get to in Tennessee and Kentucky and bought up all the hand sanitizer and wipes and were selling them on Amazon for up to $50 a bottle.

So far I am just wondering if they are going to close the recreation centers. They have closed just about everything else -- libraries, churches, etc., and everywhere is selling out of everything because of hoarding. The hoarders are selling 4 packs of small toilet paper rolls for $30-50. I just got a few things today, but not what is being hoarded except for a couple sweet potatoes. No potatoes left anywhere.
