Oh, Linda, that is such a relief about your family all testing negative for COVID. Sorry you have problems with your legs but how wonderful to have a new baby arriving soon! Take care.

Judith, it's good to hear you have many team members praying for you. The more that do so, the better!

My sis and I had a good day visiting with friends and shopping. Her son (my nephew) comes to visit tomorrow.

Last covid test is back and all are negative! We are very relieved.

I went to see a vein doctor this week and he says the pain in my thighs that I have been having may be caused by poor circulation and I need to have some varicose veins removed. In order for Medicare to pay for it, I need to wear compression stockings for 3 months. This means I will be due for the surgery the end of October but my daughter-in-law is expecting her baby then and she wants me to come stay with her as she recuperates. (It is a family tradition that I spend the first week with a new baby.) My surgery will probably be in November.

That's good about your family gradually testing negative for COVID, Linda. Praying the last family member is also negative. It's a long wait when you love people.

Judith, thinking of you and praying for you.

I've had a nice day, crafting online with friends in the morning then going shopping with my sister in the afternoon.

Yes we all all relieved that so far everyone is negative for Covid. There is one more pending but with all the others negative we have great hopes that she will also be negative and her going back to work depends on it. It is interesting how some go their results back so quickly when others have had to wait almost a week. I am sure the labs are overwhelmed with specimens coming in daily.

What a relief about your daughter testing negative for Covid! I really hope and pray that you and hubby will as well, and also your other daughter.

Susan, I am sorry for you loss but it is wonderful that we can look forward to a time when we can meet again where there is no more sorrow or pain.

My daughter who was originally exposed to the Covid virus and then exposed us tested negative today. We are rejoicing with her and are expecting the rest of us will also test negative. My other daughter was unable to start her new job until she gets her test back so is anxiously awaiting her results.

Linda, I hope they find out what is wrong soon. How awful to have pain like that.

We had a friend's funeral today. It was alright as she was a believer. We know she is safe in the arms of Jesus. We will miss her till we rejoin her though.

We made it over the mountain safely with good weather. I have a doctor's appointment for an ultrasound of my thighs to see why I am having so much pain. If the ultrasound does not show anything, we will probably look into seeing an orthopedic surgeon to see if it is related to my hip/knee arthritis.

Thanks for the prayers - they are appreciated. After the "monsoon" rains it is getting hot again. We are going over the mountain tomorrow where it will be a little cooler.

So far everyone is doing fine. Since we did not come directly in contact with the person with the virus, we are feeling confident that we are less likely to get it. Prayers are appreciated during this waiting period.

We just returned from our 5 days in the mountains at a remote cabin. There were two days of rain but with the drought, we were glad to have it. This morning I learned that my niece has just tested positive for covid. She is a nurse in the hospital and got it from a patient who did not know they had it. My daughter sent time with my niece before our vacation so she was exposed and therefore exposed us too. We will quarantine for two weeks and see if we develop anything.

We brought my mother-in-law to our house today to celebrate her 88th birthday. My two daughters and families from Denver came over to celebrate with her and then we will go up to the mountains for a week to enjoy nature and cooler temperatures. Have a great week!

Linda I have never worked night shift but I have had trouble going to bed early and getting up early all my life. I did work for 44 years and always had trouble sticking to 9 to 5. But I did it. Now I am retired I can set my own hours. It's lovely. I finally feel like I am living to my natural rhythms, though many people seem to think it is a 'character flaw' not to get up early. My Garmin says I average about 6 - 7 hours of sleep per night so I am not sleeping more than others, just have a different routine. Sometimes I only get 5 hours and don't feel the worse for it. Getting up at 4am would just make me exhausted! I would only get a couple of hours sleep on a night like that.

For several years I worked the night shift (11pm- 7am) to help pay for my husband's college fees because there was a $4 differential/hour to work that shift.. I did not mind it except that I felt a bit odd trying to match my schedule with the others who did not sleep during the day. On my days off, I kept the same schedule which helped my sleep rhythm stay stable.

Linda, I get that! I am exactly the same with early hours. I also have been a night owl most of my life.

Judith, I am praying for you with your meeting. I do hope there is some good news.

We spent the day at hubby's Dr's . He is OK. it was just routine things but it took awhile for everything to be ticked off the list.

Susan - I have not tried to see the comet the last couple of days. It is really hard to get up at 4am to see it. I am a night owl and get to bed really late to getting up in the early morning takes a lot of effort. LOL

Judith - I will be praying for your telephone conference tomorrow that a good solution can be found to your treatment.

Thank you, Judith. It's nice to be back. I too am sorry you have had a rough few days. I hope maybe you have turned a corner health-wise?

Linda, did you get to see the comet? I see voice to text made my last entry a bit garbled. Sorry about that. I was so far behind with things online after being without Internet for a few days that I used voice to text instead of typing. And didn't proof read.

I had a nice day crafting then posting online about it.

Blessings to you both.

Yay! I have Wi-Fi again!

Linda ]it would be so nice to see that comet. Maybe there will be a clear night for you before it goes away from our solar system. We cannot see it at all in the Southern hemisphere. Hey, is it your anniversary today? If so, happy anniversary!

Judith, it is nice to see you around the boards, however briefly. I hope and pray that things are improving slowly for you. Take

There's not much to report here. I have mainly stayed home crafting the last few days. We did go to church on Sunday and had coffee with friends after.

Have a wonderful, blessed day. The Lord is good!

I got up at 4:30 this morning and tried to see the comet but only saw a very bright light. Maybe I needed to have a telescope to see the tail. It was a little disappointing to not see it or maybe it was just my tired eyes not seeing well. It will be around for a while so I will try again some other day.

We returned to 102 degree weather but had a wonderful time in the mountains. It was much cooler and we were able to do a lot of walking searching for a leak in the water pipe. It was so cold at night we had to put an extra blanket on the bed.

My home Internet is down. Working on the phone with my data is difficult. So we are fine, and I will be back properly when our new modem is up and running. Xxx

Judith - although teaching via internet is not as personal, it can certainly be a good choice in travel time and stress. My husband's school has all online classes so the pandemic has not effected the class offerings. Since it is worldwide, there has been an effect on the students in the majority world (or third world as we used to call it) because they do not have the same resources (internet, money, health, family support, etc) that those countries with more amenities have.

Linda and Susan, appreciate your support and many prayers, especially through these trying times with my fight with cancer, I know I will beat this and move on to fulfill my calling and be back teaching Bible in the Fall...This is my desire, we have discussed coming back and teaching via an online class, which makes sense during these pandemic days. It would also eliminate my commute and eliminate a stressful drive in to the class and keep me strong as I continue my healing journey!

Susan - My husband thinks it might have been Perth. He was going to help set up a "Restoration Movement" department in the University there. It was in the 80's and we have no plans to move at this moment in our lives. We just bought a retirement home a few years ago that is all one level and smaller that is easier to keep clean.

That's right, Judith! Thinking of you and praying for you with Linda.

Linda, that's OK about where it was. I was thinking maybe it was still a possible move for you. I live in the Brisbane area of Queensland, I used to work in higher education too. Quilting is a skill alright and the right tools make a tremendous difference :) I bet the placemats still looked good!

It was another beautifully sunny day here so I washed clothing, bedding and did housework this morning. This afternoon I chatted with three other craft friends online while we were all crafting at our own craft desks. It's a lot of fun to do that.

My Internet is dropping in and out a lot tonight so posting a picture is hard. I'll try to post this text at least....

Susan - it has been so long ago when we thought of moving, I do not remember where it was. I will ask my husband. It was at a college but that is all I remember. I tried my hand at quilting by making place mats last year. It was a pattern similar to the log cabin pattern using fall colors. I think it would have been better if I had used a cutting tool to make precise measured cuts because I had a few problems with some of the edges being just a "little off". I am sure I would get better with practice and better tools to work with.

Judith - I hope this is a start of a better week. We continue to pray for you!

Linda, your question is perfectly reasonable! We do have Australia Day in January to celebrate the country. We can have public fireworks then but it is a pretty low-key holiday. Where in Australia were you looking at visiting or moving to? It's actually the best time to visit in our winter (your summer) as most of the country has very hot summers. It's very pleasant in our winters.

I spent the day quilting today. That was nice.

Hello Judith.I hope you are doing alright. xx

Susan - do you have a similar celebration to our 4th of July. I don't mean to be asking a stupid question but I do not know much about Australia. At one time we had thought of moving there for a teaching job for my husband but it did not work out.

All but public fireworks are banned here too, Linda especially since our horrific bush fires last year before COVID. We don't have fireworks on the 4th of course!

Today was church day so it was a great day.

Although there were a few private fireworks around our house (which are illegal) it has been a quiet day. With the severe drought, there are no fireworks allowed on in our area. I do miss seeing them but I certainly do not want to have any wildfires started by them so I am content with none.

You are still on my prayer list, Judith.

Linda, I hope you are having a good day.

Happy 4th of July to all celebrating. May God bless your day.

Judith - I am praying for your appointment at the Cancer Clinic. I hope things go well and they think you are healing. Please keep us informed of anything we need to know - otherwise God knows what we should pray for.

Linda, you are so right. Homegrown tomatoes are the best.

We had a busy day too and I am pretty tired tonight.

Today was a travel day over to the "Western slope". It is so good to be back home where there are no steps and the house stays clean. I picked our first two tomatos today and it was delicious. There is no comparison to store bought tomatoes vs home grown!

Happy July, Judith!

Linda, I think you are right to continue to be cautious. This isn't over yet. One state in Australia is locking down again as its numbers of cases are rising. It seems so easy to spread this virus, I think we should be more careful for a long time to come, and then our behaviours will be habits anyway.

But remember this verse :)

The governor has shut down bars that do not serve food as our Co-vid cases are going up again. So far, there is no talk about going back to more restrictions than this. I am still taking the usual precautions I have been doing all along. It is "better safe than sorry" as my Mom used to quote.
