Anna there is a new chat page for 2020. I am now posting. there. Oh these fires are so terrible.

Our government has let us down..... we must rally for those in need and it is what basic Aussies do.

Hot hot hot

Live well, laugh often, love much.

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

Went to Aqua for breakfast today, then went for a drive Paradise Point.
Beautiful, but hazy.

The whole world is reporting on our bushfires and not too happy with
our 'government's handling of the crisis. From Bernie Sanders, to Bette Midler
and Al Gore. My friend from Beechmont said that when the fire was burning
there, which started at the Army base, the Army chiefs said it was not their job
to fight fires. Now that they have called in the Defence Forces to help with
the evacuations, it makes me wonder why the Government took so long to
deploy them. Just saying...
Anyway, have a lovely weekend.

I did not know that she had passed away.

Oh dear. RIP.

It is shocking to watch all the drama unfolding with these fires. My friends overseas too are asking the same thing.

I feel tired but I am having much better sleeps lately.

Finally 3 busy days ahead,

I'm coming in for Platsena's funeral on Tuesday, and will stay overnight.
So Wednesday maybe? Let me know.

Ventured to the shops today as I had to go to the bank. Hopefully
I am on the mend. Went to collect my washing from the line and found it
really hot. Somehow feel guilty at the nice weather after the apocalyptic fires
down south. Morrison has to go. He should have brought in the Defence Forces
much earlier. all my friends from overseas keep asking if I am safe...

I hope the day goes faster for you today Georgia.

Yes we should invite Con for coffee. Let's do it soon.

Mould is horrid. It could well be the trigger.

Susan safe travels.

I am utterly exhausted. Last night was so dead at work and nothing exhausts you more than doing nothing.

Hope today goes fast so I can come home for my 3 days off.

I dream all the time and I remember them the next day.
Maybe we should phone Con to come and have a coffee
and cake with us.

I think I may have found what is triggering my cough.
I decided to get busy and empty the paper work that I had stored in my closet.
I start opening the files and they are all wet and I can't understand how that
could be. Remember I keep saying that when we have heavy rain and storms
I get water in my garage. Well it must have dried but did the damage and there
is actually mold on a lot of the papers and I had some leather wallets a swell
that had to be thrown out. Mold can make you sick. I have to demand my landlord
comes to fix the damn door. Makes me so angry, but his wife is dying and...

I am starting to feel a lot better because of the Ventolin.

Hahaha That would have been classed as noise pollution.....

Poor Curlew.

Yes I can imagine the heat making you feel slow up there. I remember it so well. It is different to the southern heat.

Had a quiet day and now focus to get back on healthy track from tomorrow. Enough over eating and junking.

Onwards and forwards.

Georgia and Anna, it was very quiet here in Cardwell last night (which is also very hot these days despite a sea breeze). I was awake though in bed at midnight and one car horn beeped three times. Lol! That was the only noise I heard. Hubby was asleep.

Last night around 10pm we walked Archie. There was a baby chick, grey in colour, sitting on our outsde mat. Colin picked it up and moved it under a tree. It was alive, but was 'frozen'. A Bush Curlew was nearby so we assumed it must have been one of her chicks. They freeze when trying to hide from you. Interesting, hey!

Happy New Year's Day!

I had a free promo offer from Uber eats. It was up to $30.
I finally figured out how to do the order and I ordered Chicken vindaloo
and vegetable samosas. I wanted something different for a change.

There was enough for 2 meals, so I don't have to worry about cooking.
This morning it looked as though we would get a storm, but it cleared
up and we had a very warm and humid. I was invited to a dinner up the
mountain but I am just staying in.

Have a great New Years's Eve if you are celebrating.

Susan envious. Pretty Cardwell and lots of sea breezes.

Our lunch with friends was great and of course Barry did not come. Frustrating. But I had a good time.

Anna, I am glad you went to the Dr too. Maybe you will start to feel better with taking the right medication. I know they get antibiotics wrong at times and once you have the right one, yu can move forward again. No rain in Cardwell where we are. It is 34C and a little cloudy, but it doesn't look like rain. I hope you are resting on this New Year's Eve.

Georgia, it would be lovely to have a baking day as long as you aren't too hot! We have air conditioning in the caravan, fortunately. I don't think we would survive too well without it. We are going to have a quiet New Year's Eve and another rest day tomorrow. I think Colin needs it. He says he is feeling better today, thankfully. I think he may have caught his bugs from our little granddaughters. One had a runny nose and the other had gastro!!

We have been to the IGA for a few groceries, found some fish and chips for lunch and a place to get coffee, then we had looked around enough so came back to the van and to Archie. He is really being a good dog with all our traveling. He waits patiently in the van when we go away (we only go for an hour or two without him). We leave the air con on for him too or he would not do well.

Oh Anna do not push yourself. Your body needs rest. Do as the doctor says. Perastika sou.

Just a few drops of rain. Almost dried before it hit the ground.

I am so tired after yesterday. Up and down the ladder all day long.

Today I am off and going to have some fun with friends at a lunch.

Yes, I have wheezing and an upper respiratory chest infection.
From viral to bacterial. Told me to take Ventolin 4 times a day
as I have a lot of wheezing on my chest. Gave me a second antibiotic.

At least I know what it is. I also got a bit of a scare with my lockjaw.
Such a sharp pain and I though the bone was cracked and it hurts
when I cough. Rest and more rest.

It sprinkled some rain here this evening, just in Labrador. Any rain for you?

I think e are traveling further north today, but Colin is still not well so we shall see what happens. Our son and his wife are also still sick. Me, I am still well. I am wondering how long that will last with so many germs around me! Lol!

Anna, glad you will see the Dr. It is no good not knowing what is wrong and for it to last so long.

Georgia, I had to look up your New Year's cake. It sounds like a lovely traditional cake. I am so glad to hear the weather is beautiful down there, It is hot here again, but if we travel we will be in air conditioning and I hear the Tablelands are very mild. We should be just fine, as long as Colin feels up to traveling.

Have a great day everyone.

Anna, glad you are feeling better. Colin is starting to as well. The antibiotics are making a difference for you both. That's lovely about them all liking your food! And watching old movies is fun.

Georgia, glad you are having a relaxing day. Yes we are fortunate to be able to wander at will. We like that about retirement. The reduction in money, not so much. Lol! It's all swings and round-a-bouts isn't it.

Off to see some friends for lunch today and to spend a bit more time with son and DIL. They are both sick too so I am trying to let them rest as much as possible.

Lots of different throat issues around at the moment.

My soon came over and took me out for breakfast,
Was lovely to catch up. he told me when he got to the Christmas Day
celebration, there was none of his lamb or lemon potatoes left. there was
lots of the other food, like ham and pork. He said i should accept that
as a compliment. Just as well we had lovely lamb at Georgia's.

Watching old movies on GEM. Saw 'Geordie' and now watching 'The Prisoner
of Aqaba'. Geordie had the opening of The Melbourne Olympics.

I hope Colin feels better soon. Just as well you mentioned antibiotics as I had
forgotten to take mine. I'm feeling a lot better today thank goodness.

Yes, we had a good visit over Christmas, Georgia, and next week we will drive up to Cairns to see them another day or so before slowly heading back. We have some friends and family to see in the Rocky area on our return trip. We planned to be away till 20th January but we'll see how long it takes us to get everything done and take our time coming home.

Glad you had a good Boxing Day, Georgia! I hope the New Year is all you want it to be also.

Anna, I hope you have a great New Year as well.

We went out grocery shopping and I got a couple of summer dresses at Miller's. We had lunch at the Coffee Club. Now Colin is feeling tired and sick (he is on antibiotics for a sore throat and cough) and his sprained ankle has not recovered yet. Our son and his wife also have the sore throat. I am laying low, staying quiet in the caravan while everyone else sleeps. So far I feel fine.

Glad you had a good day, Georgia. I always think there is a little eating leeway in Christmas, as long as we return to good habits the other 364 days of the year!

Today was more of the same - good times, relaxation, laughs and fun with the girls.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas Days. We did. The best part was the joy in the children. They were so excited then so very good about their presents. We entertained them all day and completely wore them out. Us too!

I hope the rain keeps coming....it's still dry here.

Rain, glorious rain! I am so happy to hear there are good falls happening in the South East! There is none in Townsville, but I sure am rejoicing about the South East! And yes it would be so, so slippery on the roads with all the dry dust and grease. Do take care, anyone who has to be on the roads.

Nola, Merry Christmas! So good to see you here! emoticon

Anna, you would have laughed about Colin's nails. He decided to remove the polish this morning though so I didn't get a photo. Now my son has red nails. Lol! He looks hilarious as he has quite big hands, too. He was happy his little 4yo niece wanted to paint them for him.

Georgia, your day sounded so good! I am glad it was busy and fun with singing.

May all of you enjoy a sweet and peaceful (wet!) day on Christmas Day with family and friends. I am thinking of you all. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I would love to see Colin's nails. Glad you are enjoying time with
your family Susan. Have a blessed Christmas.

Welcome back Nola. I hope all is well with you. Have missed you...

Went to a friend's for Christmas lunch and then we had a thunderstorm
with plenty of lightning. the rain was heavy for about 10 minutes.
DS said he nearly got swiped on the roads as it was pretty bad driving.

I am so tired from lack of sleep.
Off to bed now. Have a lovely Christmas.

Georgia, Vasili was nearly sideswiped with the heavy rain and he said
if it is raining, he may not drive us, so Sophia and I will have to train it.
We'll see how it is in the morning and I might have to get you to pick
us up at the station. Will let you know.xx

Susan I thrive on being busy. It has been busy and yesterday so much fun.

We have Christmas Carols interspersed on my usb stick and when "We wish you a merry Christmas came on we all start singing and the customers loved it.

Oh so much laughter yesterday.

We had drizzle yesterday morning and it was so nice.

Yes they have said rain. It is heavy overcast this morning and so humid. Maybe, just maybe.

How fun you will be having a cooking fest.

I hope those to injured have speedy recoveries.

Oh dear poor Colin White nails.....lol

One more sleep. xo

Live well, laugh often, love much.

Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

Hopefully the next few days will be busy enough and enjoyable for you, Georgia. Oh no about the smoke. I was hoping it would have cleared a bit while we are away. I really hope and pray there will be rain over Christmas. Weather reporters are cautiously saying there might be some. I do hope your iron tablets help you a lot to have more energy and better sleep quality. Take care, Georgia.

Anna, sorry you are not feeling well still. That smoke is awful. I hope the air is crisp and clear over Christmas from the hoped for rain.

Today our daughter's family arrived and it has been a lot of fun catching up. I now have red Christmas nails, thanks to DD. She painted all the girls' nails. And the DGDs painted Colin's. Lol! They are white. Colin also managed to hurt his ankle and DD twisted hers, so the rest of us have been fetching and carrying for them. I hope they both are able to walk better tomorrow. We have a cooking day planned and most are cooking something. For me it will be two pumpkin pies. I roasted the pumpkin and sieved it today in preparation.

it must be the smoke and going in and out of air conditioned places.
Didn't sleep much last night either. Feel sick all the time. Glad I don't
have to go to work. Getting some phlegm too. Summer colds are not nice.
Have a good week everyone.

Susan glad the smoke does not go all the way north. It was like pea soup yesterday.

I am taking daily iron again and am feeling a bit better. Have also had a couple of better sleeps.

Overcast and it sounds like droplets not many every so often. I think it may have sprinkled a little bit last night.

Back is iffy this morning but I will just keep moving. It does this when I am exhausted.

I have Christmas day off but back at it on Boxing day. Oh for the old days of retail.....

Have a nice day.

Anna, so glad the Wifi is back to normal. It can be so frustrating having it go slow like it was. Sorry you have a bronchial problem, The dust and smoke levels do have a lot to answer for. It was smokey to about Rockhampton on the way north. I do hope we get rain....

Georgia, good, we were both thinking along the same lines with the iron. Glad you felt a little better after taking some. My daughter-in-law works in retail too (Big W) and is as exhausted as you sound, and so over it. She got to stay home today but she has to go to work at 5am tomorrow and Christmas Eve, and we don't know when we will see her at the end of the day. I am glad she has Christmas Day off. I hope you do too.

We had a nice day here and recovered a little from traveling We did some last minute shopping, I did some baking, and we all vegged out in front of the TV some of the time. The dogs are getting along Tomorrow, daughter, son-in-law and two little granddaughters arrive. With their dog. So bring on Christmas at the Lukes'!

Anna it is all the smoke aggravating you. The chemist has told us all to be careful as the air has dirt in it even if we cannot see it. They are having so many people come in with similar ailments. Even I have a dry irritated throat and I work in the air con. In the morning I can feel the air is not clean. Bring on the rains.

Just keep comfortable as you can.

Glad the internet is working again.

Didn't sleep all night. Have a terrible bronchial and I feel really tired
so will just stay in bed today.
I'm tired too Georgia but not the same as you Georgia. Not long to go now
till the man in red appears.
Glad you made it to Townsville. Susan. I can imagine how tired and hot
you must be.
WiFi is working OK now.

Anna so sorry for all the internet dramas and at this time of year too.

At least slow internet is better than none at all.

I plan on going to the cemetery this morning. Very shortly before the heat kicks in.

Then lunch with V.

Susan funny you should mention the iron. I took an iron tablet yesterday and had not done so for quite some time. I felt better yesterday. Not as lethargic and next year when drs return to normal schedule will get my blood tested again. It only occurred to me as I was getting breathless and that was one of the symptoms of my iron deficiency.

Yes those roads up north are so long between some of the towns. Exhausting but you did it.

I do not like this time at work as it is insane. I enjoy Christmas but not when I work in retail.

One day I will win lotto.....lol

We moved on today and are now installed in Townsville. It was a long day of travel for us as we are not as young as we used to be, and it was very hot, but not over 40C like it was in Gayndah. It's great to see our son and his wife They are both people we love to spend time with. Archie has met their Beagle, Bowie, and the two are more or less getting along.

Georgia, how long is it since your last iron infusion? I wondered if that is causing you extra fatigue? Plus you have been ill and come straight back into work at the busiest of seasons.....just some suggestions?

Anna, what a frustrating day but I like that you got there in the end. I am so glad you liked your card. Yes, you must feel ready to try crafting again :) I will help with whatever you want to do if you like.

Both of you take care.

Thank you for the lovely card Susan. I received it today.
You are both so talented. Oh well, I will try again one day.

I came back yesterday and my NBN/WiFi was not working. Phoned Optus
and was told there must be a fault on the line. told me to call back in 24 hourws.

Grrr... was ropable as you can imagine. So I phoned at 11 am and got a sort
of runaround. Long story short, it could not be fixed remotely so I am getting
a technician to come, but not till January 2nd...Was then told to go into the Optus
store and BUY a dongle which has 50 GB of data. This will hopefully tide me over
till then and I will get that credited on my account. The sim card for it was activated
in store so I came home and started to connect the dongle. the password was written
so small, I could hardly see it. The password was written in big writing for me on the box.
I was trying and trying and it would not connect.
The rep had made his 1 look like a capital I. Then I had a technician online and he helped
me through and I told him I will try a 1 and voila, it worked. Boy, it's been a long day.

Now I have the slowest internet you can imagine and half the pages don't open properly.
I also think I have some bronchitis and feel very tired. This heat doesn't help. We shouldn't
complain as down south it's 110 times worse.

Have a lovely Sunday tomorrow ladies.

Susan I do not understand this exhaustion. I really must be getting old as it never used to feel like this.

Closed earlier than planned as it was not busy.

Hopefully a good sleep tonight.

I am glad you are having fun in Sarina

We had a lovely day here in Sarina. It got hot in the afternoon but the morning was lovely. We walked Archie down to the town and had a coffee at a coffee shop that allowed dogs under the table. He loved it and so did we. We just needed a rest day and we did the washing as well.

Georgia, I can feel your tiredness from here. I hope you relax this weekend. Glad you got your card and catalogues. I was hoping they would arrive soon!

Anna, sounds like you are having a lovely family time. I hope you get your Christmas card soon too. I posted it the same day I posted Georgia's.

Susan enjoy your lovely sojourn in the north.
Glad you are better. Than you for the catalogue and the lovely card.

Anna you sure are busy.

This week I have seen Samantha and the kids.
Con and Dean - Con seems a bit brighter and was glad to be out with grandkids.

Oh my goodness how physically exhausted I am. Finished at 10pm and back there at 8 am and I am glad I have the weekend off.

It has been so busy.

So glad to hear you are well now Susan. I hope there is not too much smoke where you are.

I feel for you Georgia. The long days must be so tiring. Only 6 more sleeps and you’ll get a day off.

I came to Brisbane yesterday and we t to Maggie’s and caught up with her littlest grandson. He’s becoming quite cheeky. Stupid here had coffee at 7.30 pm then couldn’t sleep all night.
Went to the deli then to my brother’s. Back to mum’s and had lentils and salad. Then Paulette came and we went for coffee then to her place. Mum gave her a crocheted tea towel and P was thrilled.

Back to her place, then Renie came and I went to her place for an hour and for back at 6pm. Decided to stay again and going back tomorrow.

I am messaging you from Sarina. I am feeling well and it has been a lovely few days getting here :)

Georgia, I say bring on the break. It is getting so close to Christmas. I know you will then have New Year's sales but I sure hope things settle down for you soon.

Anna, it's good to know you are alright though I am very sorry about your friend. I will pray for her too.

Thank you both for your well-wishes about my illness. I am really glad it seems to have gone.
