update from Fitlinxx on FB:

"Hi everyone,

Here's the latest as of 12:00 PM EST: We have begun restoring connectivity to the FitLinxx Platform and the SyncPoint Network is currently coming back online. You may see your Personal SyncPoint turn green, and Enterprise & Workgroup SyncPoints are beginning to come back online as well.

We are still working to get data back to our partners' applications, so you may not yet see your data in your application.

Please rest assured the data is not lost; it will populate in your application once everything is back up and running.

Our next update will come at 2:30 PM EST at the latest. Thanks again for bearing with us.

Best,

FitLinxx Support"

My dongle light turned green but there is no activity posted. To make matters worse now my Spat is not lighting up and showing me my steps today. It is not a low battery. I see others have this problem. I am worried that the Spat has lost my steps for the last 5 days.

Ok, so my dongle light is green. Not sure how long it's been and though the pop ups say that it's been off-loaded successfully, there's nothing showing up on my page for the last 5 days... what gives???

Yesterday, I forgot to put the SPAT on and thought that would be OK. I can just track whatever else I do. I have a spare pedometer that can keep track of my steps and can just put that in. Hope everyone else is Sparking right along!

I'm hoping that they get this back online soon. From my past experience my tracker only holds about two and a half days worth of data, not two weeks. My lights on the SPAT are still lighting up and I've reached my goal every day, but I'm a little upset that I will be losing at least three days of data and counting. Please get on them to get this back up!

I was thinking it was our shared MAC computer causing the problems. So I ordered myself a touch screen laptop. I'm supposed to get it Friday. So happy, it will be my very own computer for my fitness journey. emoticon

Just take a deep breath. It is frustrating, yes, but things like this happen in technology. It will fixed when it is fixed. Just breathe and try to be patient. I know, I hate that word, too. But take the frustration out in exercise instead of anxiety over it. Chill. They will get it done as soon as they can.

Fitlinxx as the "service" provider should be providing timely and frequent updates. I not on their "Myinertia" page. (which tracks the Fitlinxx "Pebble" there is NO mention of the outage, although of course, the Pebble is not working either. Sorry, but it is regime to fire Fitlkinxx.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I would probably try to wait if possible, and hopefully this will be resolved soon.

If I change my battery now the link is down ... will the information stored in the SPAT be lost?

It seems to me that it will be lost -- and my battery is very low.

We posted a message at the top of the SAT page, and have also made announcements on the Team Wall. We've sent SparkMail updates when we have new information to share. Is there somewhere else you'd suggest we post so that more people are aware of what's going on? I'm open to feedback :)

Thanks,

Coach Jen

I find it very curious that apparently the ONLY place there has been any information, or even acknowledgement of the outage is here in the Team Forum. This is not just ridiculous, but an unacceptable level of "customer service" or just "customer communication."

If you manually enter activity now, when the data does upload things will be double counted.

Coach Jen
thanks i am now waiting but have a question since I am waiting to enter the tracker information will it go back and give the points for that day ?? I have been taking the tracker off to do a few things so I can get a few points. I understand computer problems and miss seeing my steps add up but just remind my self Fran they are stored safely in the tracker.
thanks

We all just need to be patient. The device is wonderful for keeping all of us motivated. Let's just be thankful that the data is stored on the device. After all in 10 years we will all be at our ideal weight and it won't matter Keep smiling emoticon emoticon

A minor issue while waiting for the SPAT to be up. I show the Spark Activity Tracker Team under my teams, but even if I change the order, it will not show up on my Spark page under teams. Is this due to the current problem?

I think it's time that Sparkpeople looks toward partnering with someone a little more reliable. I have never had any trouble with Fitbit, for example. There are others, but Fitlinxx seems to be more interested in corporate accounts. I wonder how their corporate "partners" appreciate the down time.

Thanks Jen for the update. IF we add the minutes we do a walk event manually to get our spark points do we mess things up when the computer comes back and down loads our information?

Thanks for the up and working the holiday so we know what is going on. unlike so many who are unhappy with the tracker i love mine and find my self checking to see how far i have gone over goal thought out the day. have tried other pedometers and this is so much better at least for me any way. yes some times it gets mixed up and calls a walk a cycle event and its and easy fix. and with the green lights on the tracker its a fun reward to them light up some thing that a pedometer can't give and i need the reward effect to keep me going to my goal. Happy 4th every one emoticon

Thanks for the update, Jen!
We have to remember we are dealing with computers here! LOL! My Omron pedometer, which I used before I got my SPAT, would have issues with downloading occasionally. System glitches just happen... I am SO spoiled! I get irritated when I should be grateful that I have this wonderful convenience in the first place!
I'm sure things will get fixed soon and we can go back to enjoying our SPATS!
One thing I do wish is that they would get a way for my SPAT to link with my Android tablet...

Our partner, FitLinxx, is currently experiencing issues with their system and it is currently down. All of your data will be stored on your device and will sync up once FitLinxx system comes back online. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I sympathize, Moomshine! I, too, have given up on the SPAT altogether. I am going to disconnect my SPAT, actually. I am either going to buy an activity tracker that reports data consistently and accurately (after doing very thorough research this time!) or I'm just going back to the old fashioned pedometer method. Unpleasant lesson learned!! Good luck!

I had 3 good days with my SPAT and today, it's red. I tried reconnecting and still nothing! I ended up uninstalling the software but now I can't re-install it!! I keep getting a "unable to connect to the internet" message, even though I'm CLEARLY online and on this website, so I'm very confused!! HELP!

I've pretty much given up on the SPAT because it doesn't track consistently - some days all the lights are lighting just fine, but nothing shows up on my spark page - today is one of those days: I took two walks: the correct number of lights lit up on the morning walk, but that walk didn't show up on my SparkPage, and only half of the afternoon walk got recorded. It doesn't even bother counting my steps unless I do over 13 minutes of walking -- and that's only sometime. Then it'll tell me the last sync was yesterday, but record today's walk. Very frustrating. The stock answer is: did I do it everything right. Why would I all of a sudden start doing everything wrong after 12 months of success. Pshaw. Pffftt.
I am curious what the average life-span is of the SPAT, and should I count on having to get a new one every so many months?

Your battery level is 100%, so that change happened correctly. You've also got over 29,000 steps for today, so are you sure data is missing?

Is the system just slow today. My spat is completely lite but the site doesn't show anything since 12:57. I'm getting a little frustrated.

8:22 PM update:

Since my spat now had red lights tonight, I decided to change the battery. Now there is only one light lite so it seems as though I've lost everything for today!!!!

Just got home and see where it finally registered. It's just weird that it didn't count any of my steps from 9:51 until midnight or between 7 and 9 this morning. Granted it, it was attached to my slipper but it usually shows my steps around the house. I know I was not working out but it usually records my just "walking" around the house. This was a first.

I see a workout in there from this morning when I look at your tracker page. Do you feel like it's missing something?

I've just checked again and the spat doesn't seem to be recording any steps!!!!

UPDATE:
Finally as 12:50 the lights on the spat have moved but at this time there is still no recognition on the tracker page. Very discouraging.

Hi Coach Jen,

My spat has not recorded since 9:51 last night. The lights do cycle when the spat is tapped. The battery is okay and I've checked the sync points and all are green. Not sure what is going on.

Coach Jen..Thanks for the advice. It is working fine now. I love my tracker and manually adjust calories from working out at the gym. I think the online support with the trophies and tracking is a wonderful motivator to me.
