Insomnia again last night. My knee and hip hurt, but that wasn't the whole problem. I just couldn't sleep. Grrrr I was doing pretty good until last night. emoticon

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?" declares the Lord. "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" declares the Lord. — Jeremiah 23:24

I use a product called "CALM" which has a highly absorbable form of magnesium; it's also available in a magnesium/Calcium ratio. Mix in hot water and drink in the evening or breaks into two "doses" per day. Helps a lot to fall back asleep.

Also doing mindful meditation to relax for 15-20 minutes a day, especially after work to unwind and relax. Can be done at night when you can't sleep - keep the mind from racing. Just focus on nothing, over and over and over.

What was up with last night? Full moon? Crazy haunting holiday? Even with my CPAP, which I'm out like a light, I was awake about 5-6 times. Even got up at 1:30 AM thinking it was morning already! Geesh!

God gives me every day and I am thankful. I hop to my goals daily.

I'm glad? that I'm not the only one who has trouble sleeping at night. I can't get to sleep at night, then I can't wake up in the morning. I've stopped caffeine by 2:00 in the afternoon, but it doesn't seem to matter.

I gained it one pound at a time, I'll lose it the same way.

My rant?

The main thing that gets to me is how I can fall asleep just about anywhere except my bed. I could be dead exhausted, basically dragging myself home from work in the morning, come home, nod off while checking emails, get into bed and ... nope, wide awake.

Being able to sleep for more than four hours without a struggle would be nice, too.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stay asleep throughout the night.? I keep waking up every couple of hours and there is no problem with noise or physical discomfort or disturbing dreams to cause this. I thought with a regular daily exercise routine my sleeping would improve but so far it hasn't and it's been over a month of consistent exercising, healthy eating and relaxing downtime before bed. I don't drink tea or coffie which they say can keep you awake at night. Frankly I'm puzzled what to try to do next.

To me HEALTH means Energy. Stamina. Flexibilty. A relatively pain free body. Enjoying healthy food. You are your body, and your weight loss efforts will succeed exactly to the extent that you mange to do the work on behalf of your embodied self. You’ll do much better when you focus on making positive changes to improve your health and well-being, rather than on fighting your bad habits.

I definitely need to rant about this one...in the past 3 days of sleeping (Thursday-Saturday) I slept a total of 12 hours sleep. Tonight I hope I can sleep, I had to take a 4 hour evening nap or risk falling over. lol. I hope you all find good solutions on getting to sleep. Tonight i am going to try relaxation music on CD. I found out that I have several of these CD, I cleaned out my collection and organized them by genre categories so my relaxation CD's are in a separate case by my CD player...

Naughty kitty who wants to be petted at 3:30 every morning then looks like you are crazy when you get up for work and curls up in your spot. Good thing I love her

Recently, I started praying the Rosary whenever I wake up in the middle of the night. The rhythm helps me relax and ordering my thoughts staves off anxiety. I even downloaded the Rosary app so I can remember all the Mysteries. Since I keep my phone on the nightstand, I don't have to get up to pray, and I nearly always go back to sleep peacefully. Best of luck to you all!

I only sleep about four hours straight then it's up and down. My problem is second shift at my age. I'm 57 and it's hard to go to bed earlier on my nights off. I'm still up til 1 am. I have tried relaxation but that doesn't work so well. The only thing i have found is that tea that is for sleep.
I am very active, even thou my body is tired my mind is still going when i should be going to bed. Any suggestions?

yes my nights are disruptive as well. I sleep about 2 hours then wake up. then may sleep another hour and wake up. by 4 am...it seems that i wake about every 15-20 minutes on the average. no wonder I am so tired. I am on Ritalin which helps me stay awake during the day, but still feel like i could go to sleep for the night at about 6pm. I do not take the Ritalin past 3pm as the doctor directs me to.

Sometimes my cat gets on my chest at about 7am, so i get up to feed her and her sister. I tried to walk at about 5pm and I go to the gym at 9am. I think the gym would make me too awake to sleep.
Last night I put on a cd called Fen Shui...it was so relaxing. it helped me go to sleep, but then i still woke up in this manner.

A friend told me to try relaxing meditation music all night, and I believed it helped. I can now sleep and wake up only 3 times a night.

I keep waking up every two hours. Don't have to go to the bathroom, not in any pain, no noise to disturb me. I wish I could figure out the cause so I can stop it from happening. Any of you have this problem and were you able to cure yourself from waking up? If so what did you do?
