We're home. Tomorrow its back to the groove. It was a sad weekend, but still nice to see everyone. Six out of nine of us cousins were there. I got a picture of all of us. I'll post it on my status tomorrow. I miss being around them.

I waked my usual 3.5 miles early this morning. We'll be traveling to Northern Idaho today. Its a sad time, but it'll be good to see most of my cousins that I grew up with. We'll stay at my brother's home. We'll come home Sunday or Monday.

I slept in today. So I tried to start my walk a few minutes after 8. I didn't even cross the street when one of my cousins called. While I was talking to her, my brother called. He's hard to contact! I left a couple messages on his voice mail over the last few days. We'll be staying at his home over the weekend. So it was more like 8:30 before I got my start. The worst part about walking later is that everyone likes to stop and chat. I don't want to stop and chat. I'm getting a workout and stopping is non-productive. I'm a very social person, but if you want to talk to me, then walk with me. They don't do that.

We're off to Zootown today. I will be at the Bone & Joint and get a Sinvasc (spelling?) injection in my knee. Its also called Rooster Comb because it derived from it and its easier to remember. It cushion's the knee joint. I don't like getting it, but I like the relief it gives. It'll be a good together-time with my husband. We've been short on that most of the summer.

Today I ran a few errands and paid bills. I also talked my husband to go to urgent care for his cough that's hanging on. The doctor wrote a couple prescriptions and if its not better, then go back. I have a couple doctor appointments in Zootown tomorrow.

I'm home for the day and very tired. Our minister had a really nice memorial service. I was left in charge with the dinner. There was oodles and oodles of left over food. there were 2 people that really got on my nerves. But I took a deep breath and kept my mouth shut. One was Julie. She came in to help in the kitchen. She took charge and pushed the panic button. Last funeral, it was not enough food, so she went to store and bought more. This time it was not enough coffee, so she asked to local restaurant to donate a bunch. We had enough both times. Then Teri, she wasn't helping. She just attended the funeral and dinner. She had a cackle that drowned out the big crowd! I told my friend, Mary, I wish she would put a sock in it. lol I was across a large room and I could hear her. I'm ready for the quiet of home!

The thing I like about funeral dinners is that family and friends are together and reconnecting. It seams happy. I also saw a family today that was broken apart, come together again. I think the riff was stitched back together.

We went to church today. I taught children's church today. We call it Wee Worship. I don't usually do that. I was taken off the rotation for it. But today, it was either me or Audrey, who is the widow of our minister. She needed to be with her family. The memorial service will be tomorrow. When we got home, I learned that my cousin's husband passed away. He was in his 80s. He's been in the family almost 60 years. I'm not ready for this. We were a really close family as we grew up.

Fall weather is definitely here. Temperatures are cooler and its dark when I start walking in the morning. One of the streets I walk on is very busy in the mornings during the week, so I have a reflective vest that I wear. Soon I'll be changing my walking time to after 8. I don't like that but....

I never likes split shifts. It just breaks up the day too much.

I'll be taking Mary to Zootown today. She has an appointment with her cardiologist. He is checking her heart thoroughly today, including a stress echo so it will take most of the afternoon. I plan to catch a little shopping.

The last 2 days were just plain non stop. All that's going on today, my husband has PT this morning. I don't have to go with him, but I probably will. I need to make a few phone calls sometime today. Some of them will turn into visiting. That's ok, but I enjoy the people I need to talk to. I'll probably do more planning for the funeral dinner on Monday. Most of that can be done on the phone. I know I couldn't do this dinner without the ladies in our church. They are fantastic! We are a small church with many tithers (those that give at least 10% of salary), so our church can and will buy rolls and sliced ham. I just charge it to the church.

Church was a little somber today. This is difficult for everyone. Jon was well loved. After church we went out to eat. We took my friend, Mary with us. When we got there, there was another couple from church that was there, so we sat with them. While we were eating, another couple from a church in a neighboring town. They joined us. Coincidental that we were sitting at a table that would serve up to 8.

He was told he has 1-2 years. He lasted 10 months. It's hitting one of his daughter in law's hard. She lost her mother to brain cancer almost a year ago. Her illness lasted less than a month. I can relate to that. I lost my mother to colon cancer 12 years ago and took care of her the last 2 months. Terrible memories.

We're suppose to have a cold front come in today. Its 63 now. This is the first night we had a fan going in our bedroom window all night since August.

We got news last night that our minister, Jon, past away. He lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was such a good man, very private and humble. Our last conversation was about the difference between belief and faith. I lived the first 28 years believing but with no faith. Then I found out what faith really is and what it means. He said that he has taken one more step to total trust. He had to learn that in the last few months.

I plan to stay home most of the day.

This morning I had to force myself to get up and get moving and keep moving. My walk was a little slower than usual, but I kept going... I'm on my 2nd load of laundry. Its something I needed to do all week, but just didn't get it done. I have the first load out on the clothes line. This is probably one of the last of days I'll be able to do that. I'll be doing odds and ends around the house today.

All my best to you and your health! Glad you had a good time at church camp and got to spend time with family!

I just stayed home and rested and did some bookkeeping for work over the three day holiday weekend. And I only had to go into work for a really short time today. Mainly just to get something out in the mail and to check what came in the mail.

Take care

I have a small nodule on one of my lungs. For the most part is just a small pain. But if I get jarred like when falling, its very painful for a week or so. If feels like a bruised or broke a rib. I'm ready to get rid of it, but I have to convince a doctor. lol I'm glad you got yours taken care of.

We had a good time at church camp. I did a little soul searching that I didn't expect to do. I tore down some invisible walls of protection around me. The "sin" of those that I was protecting myself from were only guilt by association. I've admitted a few years ago that they are better people than those that hurt me before them. I feel like I tore down those walls this weekend. So now what? I have to work that out.

We did have a good time with our son and his family. I got a "grand kid fix". Our son forgot to get some cash for the snack shack, so we candied up the kids. All I had to do is take one kid to the snack shack and amazingly, the other 3 came to the snack shack before I walked away. lol That snack shack was open for an hour 2 times a day. We limited it to one a day. But yesterday, everything was half price. So they got more. We probably won't see them again until Thanksgiving.

The kids also liked to catch crawdads. They are like fresh water crabs. They were all let loose but the kids had fun with it. It was a little cool to go swimming, but they still did a little while. Food was tooo good! The camp cook wasn't there this year because of the health of her husband, our minister. He has pancreatic cancer and not doing well. So the food wasn't quite as good as usual. I miss Audrey's cinnamon rolls. Maybe that's a good thing! lol

My appt Tuesday went easy. I had already printed out all their forms from the internet and had them filled out before I got there, along with another sheet that had the usual questions they ask me typed out too with my prescriptions, allergies, and other details. I just went in and they talked to me. Said they didn't see any need to do the test my primary sent me for, as my levels really were not that high, and nothing to worry about, and according to their standards I wasn't past due to have a colonoscopy, that I am actually not due for it until sometime next year. And since I wasn't in any pain, or having any symptoms that would concern them, they didn't see any need to subject me to invasive tests that I really wasn't wanting to go through either. So I got out of the colonoscopy and the Upper GI that my primary was pushing for that I didn't want to go through. So all I had to do is do another blood test lab work for them, and since that came out all normal, I am good to go for at least another year.

My biopsy that I went through today wasn't nothing to worry about either. Just felt a little pressure, no pain, and still no pain from it. She said everything looked okay, but did the biopsy just to be sure. So I should know about it in a few weeks.

After my biopsy, I went on into work as I felt fine. I went ahead and I ran all my payroll for Monday today, so I donít have to go into work Monday. I probably wonít have to go in Tuesday either since I finished all my payroll, except for one on Friday. And of course I still have bookkeeping to do, but I can do it at home. So I might get to stay home a lot next week and just work from home.

Take care, I hope the new doctor works out for you!

Cloudy here and in the 70s. I'm not ready for Fall yet. I know that after Fall comes winter. I like summer.

We're going to a church camp this weekend. Its in a very remote area and we will have no cell service at all. So I won't be on from Friday afternoon until sometime Monday afternoon. I will still log all that I eat and back log when I get back.

The doctor I saw yesterday might work out.

I was in Zootown today. I saw a new doctor today. I'm hoping to find a primary doctor. My regular doctor retired. He was the last of his kind in Montana. He had a one doctor office that was not affiliated with a hospital or large medical group. This is a difficult decision. I had to see one because one of my medications needed a refill. So now I'm tired

I got a call from the GI Dr's office today, my blood work turned out normal, so no other test or procedures are needed at this time for them. Now I just have to deal with the biopsy at the women's clinic on Friday. Take care

I hope you find the right match for you. I liked my original Prim dr but she left on permanent maternity leave. I didn't really care for the guy they assigned me to instead, but luckily I only had to see him a few times. Then a NP took over my case along with some others, as he just got too busy to see all the patients he got assigned at first. I like the NP a lot better, she is more like the first lady I was seeing there. But I don't like that she tries to make me see a bunch of specialists each year all in about three months time. I don't know if it is her idea or the insurance idea to get them all done at the same time each yr. I just try to break them out one a month, and ask for extensions on the referrals if I don't get to them in the time allotted that she and the insurance first gave me for them. It seems like I always have at least six or more to try to work in each year. This year there was even more because of the issue I had with the kidney stones, and then the abnormal pap on top of that too. My Friday appt is to do with the abnormal pap.

Take care and hopefully you can get Bernie's appts made easier.

Bernie's appointments is mostly PT, but she also has doctor appointments. I did stop in at the Council on Aging. I got the fees they charge and asked a few questions. She might be covered. She has partial Medicaid. I'm not sure what that means. I'll talk to Marlene this weekend at church camp. We'll see what next week brings. She's getting evaluated. She might be done. But I'll save the info for the next time she gets this PT.

I took Bernie to PT today. and we came straight .home afterwards. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. This is in search of a new primary. I do need a refill on one of my medications. I'm not sure this is the right match for me. We'll see.

I totally don't blame you! She should try to get on some type of transportation thing like that. I hate having a bunch of appointments in the same month, let alone the same week. Unfortunately I had one appointment that they kept postponing from month to month, to month on me, so I ended up with an appointment today, and another on Friday that are for two new specialists that my dr wanted me to see. But I cancelled the appointment with my primary doctor the week before, because that appointment was really to discuss the outcomes for these two appointments. So I didn't feel the need to keep it, and I didn't let them pressure me into rescheduling it right then either, as I have no idea what other tests or appointments these specialists are going to want me to have or how soon.

I got the "GI" specialists consult done today, and then went off for labs work that he wanted done again. Hopefully everything will come out okay, and I won't be sent for more test or procedures. I know I am supposed to having a procedure done on Friday, a type of biopsy, but don't know any more about what else they may do that day or at another time.

I had another busy week at work and looks like the next few weeks could be busy too.

Take care

We finally got the rain. It rained most of the night. I still walked this morning in the rain, but I carried an umbrella. It was a light rain. The only part that got wet was the feet and lower pant legs. Unless you count the sweat. lol A warm shower felt good afterwards. As good as rain is, I don't like it. lol

I don't have much planned today. But tomorrow, I take Bernie to Missoula AGAIN. This is getting ridiculous! She has 4 stinking appointments this week, after I told her NO MORE THAN 3 APPOINTMENTS A WEEK. She plays the "blame game" really good. She blames 2 of us for making all the appointments, BUT I'm the only one of the 3 of us (Bernie, Marlene, who also helps with the rides and me) that sees the importance of all 3 of us knowing when ALL the appointments are. Its so frustrating! So at least once a month, we end up 4 stinking appointments in one week. So I asked the church leadership is we could get her hooked up with the public transportation for her appointments. They will take senior citizens to medical appointments. There is a small feel Bernie does help some with the gas, but not nearly enough. Her first argument will be "I can't afford it" So the church will pay for it. I have to check with those that do the transportation. Then I'll present it to Marlene next weekend at church camp. I'm doing the homework first before I confront Bernie with this. I'm still willing once a week. Marlene probably is too. Then after I talk with Marlene, I confront Bernie. She will not be happy. How that is for unloading?

Yesterday was a very long day. I walked first. Then I baked a pineapple upside down cake. I left home at 11 to pick up ham and rolls at our store (it was pre-ordered). I sent my husband out to pick up a friend of mine that would help. We had LOTS of desserts. It was a huge funeral. There was baked beans, lasagna, salads, and cut up cantaloupe. Two of those helping pushed the panic button, thinking there wasn't enough food. They went to the store and bought some salads. There would have been enough. After the funeral, we asked the widow of the deceased if she wanted to take some food home. She declined because she had a house full of food that people had brought for her and family. So we divided up the left overs that the bringer didn't want. . I took home what I brought (fruit salad, and cake) plus some cantaloupe. It all worked out well. I got home after 8PM

Other than attending church, I didn't do much today. I did was a shorter walk than usual early this morning Then another mile with my husband this afternoon. I also walked to the store to get some milk. That's it for today.

Its cooler here. When my husband and I started our 1 mile walk, I wondered if I needed a sweater. It was border line on needing it. When I'm out and about this afternoon, I think I'll put a light sweater on. Tomorrow, I have a funeral to go to. I'm also organizing the dinner afterwards. I hope I got most of that done.

Thanks! I hope all is well with you too! I had a busy week with work, and also a leaking hot water heater at home. But that is taken care of now, and I got the day off of work today. So trying to catch up on all I missed in here now. Take care. Janette

All interesting information! Thanks both of you for sharing.

As usual, I walked early this morning. The sun when it came up was beautiful. With so much smoke in the air, it makes the son such a pretty colors. Sometimes orange or pink. . That's the ONLY thing that is good in the forest fires and smoke.

My husband had PT this morning. I told the therapist that both of us have sore joints today. I was talking to someone this morning about how I'm thinking about surgery on my toes this winter. I have big bunions on both feet and hammer toe on one foot. She told me of an exercise that move the toes over to how they are suppose to be. I might try it for the next few months, then decide in December. It might be, If it sounds too good to be true, its probably not true. But its a simple thing that is also good for plantar fasciitis and knees. I'd rather do surgery on my knee first, but the toes are hurting more. I have osteoarthritis in both knees, but my right knee has a torn meniscus that is probably caused by the osteoarthritis. Right now, I'm just managing injections on that knee, which helps for about 2 months, then I start planning on the next injection.

Its been a busy morning. I went to TOPS this morning. I was a tie with the Loser of the Week with .5 pound loss. A lot of the smoke cleared out yesterday, but its starting to come back again. We got a little rain on Monday, The worst part of storms usually miss our small town. I think we're kind of protected by the mountains and the hills around us.

The smoke is a little less today, but still thick. We're suppose to get a big rain on Monday. I know we really need it and that it would help the air quality. But I still don't like rain. I would be happier if it only rained at night when I'm sleeping. Sometimes I do get my way. I shouldn't complain, but I really don't like any weather but warm and sunny.

I saw on FB yesterday that my husband's cousin posted "Remember when poor air quality was limited to cities and forest fires were much smaller" That was when we had better forest management. To harvest diseased or bug infested trees that eventually dies and infest other trees, Forest Service has to fight the environmentalist. So some of the forests turn into tinderboxes. Then a careless person or a lightening strike ignites a forest fires. All the fires in our area were started by lightening. Environmentalist have even blocked charred trees that will die and spread disease to healthier trees. Off my soap box now lol

Its cooler today. its 64 now but suppose to get up to 72 today. Its very smoky here. I took a picture of our Sunrise over the invisible Mission Mountains. I walked early this morning. We just got back from our 1 mile walk, then I walked to the grocery store and picked up a few groceries, All in all that took 35 minutes. . Below is a picture of sunrise over the Mission Mountains. You can barely see the mountains.

We're having a luncheon for 2 of our past leaders. Both quit about the same time (one because of her health, they other because of health of her husband) they both put in many years of faithful service to our chapter.

The smoke returned. I walked my usual Sunday 2.4 miles. But because of the smoke, I would have quit then on any other day. Yesterday was one of those days that if it could go wrong, it did. First, I misplaced something valuable. Then a friend called and said that a man in our church suddenly passed away. Next, I checked the mail. I got a notice that I've been selected to be in the jury pool for out county. I may never be called to serve, but it might happen. I'm overwhelmed like I didn't have enough to do! It's one more thing.... Then today, I was asked to organize a dinner for the funeral that is tentatively set for next Saturday.

Yes, it is sad! I have fond memories of many trips up north visiting all the national parks every other year on vacation from school. So sad to hear about all the fires and then the mud slides after the fires and such, and the rivers and lakes getting drier and drier from the drought. Places all over this beautiful country are changing so much from fires, mud slides, flooding in the mid-west and east, sinking holes all over on the west coast. Things are changing so much from when I was a child getting to see almost all of the states visiting and camping out with my parents. One year we would go up the west coast and the next to the mid-west and it kept rotating like that every year so we could see the states and visit all the relatives during our summer school break. I miss those times and getting to know and spend time with relatives too.

Friday's at work during the summer months are usually fast and easy, run in and run out. But sometimes things go crazy, and yesterday was one of those days. I was working at home from early morning and then had to go into work to run a bunch of reports, handle calls and email, deal with some rush bookkeeping. I ended up at work late with it all. And I still have to rush some bookkeeping this weekend for a couple of clients.

It is still cooler than it had been, but still warm and muggy during the day. But at least the mornings and evenings are not as bad as before.

Have a great weekend and take care

A lot of the smoke cleared out yesterday. We got a few drops of rain, but not enough to do any good. Some areas got lightening with very little rain. That's not good. This is the second year in a row that Glacier National Park got hit hard with fires. Most of West of the Divide is closed. So sad! I feel for the tourist that come from across the country to see the park and can't see the most popular spot.

I got my hair done yesterday.

It clouded up. It was so smoky this morning that I had to cut my walk short. grrr We tried walking a little while ago, but my husband's knee was hurting so much that we turned back after one block. We might try later today. We also felt a few sprinkles. We really need a down pour
