Kelly~Yes, we do eat these chickens because they are MEAT chickens! They are raised in about 8 weeks so no attachments made. LOL

Okay...We only have two days left in Seattle ladies! Make the most of it! Tomorrow we're heading to Tacoma to visit a place that makes blown glass. They have promised we can take something home! (Wish!) tacomaglassblowing.com/

Almost went a whole day without Spark...can't let that happen!
Linda, Happy Birthday. Can not imagine what all you go through. I second that about having you all as a team. Thanks for being "there"!
Doro, so glad you got to see your kiddos. I love living near mom, but my bro is 5 hrs away. That;s tough on her. I wish I was from a big family and we all would do cool things together.
Christina, hey, a girl has to Spark when she can! Sounds like a great getaway!
Janet, you eat your chickens?? They aren't named or friendly?? I can't think about a chicken being alive if I'm eating it...and do not do bones. Like nawing meat from a carcass, yuk. Even roasting one kinda gags me, I just pull the meat and get rid of the bones as quickly as I can.
Christie, how ya hanging in there? Baby letting you enjoy any rest this weekend?
Went to friends tonight. 6 kids (ages 5.4.4,3.2.infant). Our usual crew of 3 families. Always a circus. Tonight a sandpiper almost attacked the kids, a hawk got attacked by blackbirds, and all the kids were freaking out over the killer birds. I ate way too much and only moved to make another smore! And Curves is closed tomorrow....
Happy Memorial Day tommorrow.

Christina~First I had the tech guy and then he transferred me to the sales guy. The sales guy wouldn’t close the deal. Goofy guy. I’m glad my advice on getting you that balcony overlooking the lake worked out! LOL Sounds wonderful. Good idea to store the boat since you go often enough.

Kelly~Sounds like you had an eventful day on Saturday!

Linda~Big, huge hugs to you with all that you are dealing with at home. I am not sure I would react well either and I too forget at times that God will give me the strength and grace to get through. I wasn’t very good with it all yesterday. But on a brighter thought….HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful morning of worship and then this afternoon we took the kids to see “Hop” and enjoyed that very much. Isaac actually did better this time with his over stimulation issues in movie theaters until he decided to pretend. He is starting to do that…thinks this is how he is expected to behave so he makes sure he does. Crazy kid! Once home I did some sparking and scrapping. Tomorrow I have to tackle the jungle (lawn) rain or shine! Seriously…it is 7-8” long in the front. The rain has not been my friend in this chore. LOL

Going to take Monday and Tuesday off from school as it is a holiday and then Tuesday the kids will go with Tim to get the chickens butchered and then have piano. We would like to cut up some of the chickens too so they are already “ready to go” in the freezer. We’ll see. My spare time…you know…mowing!

Will be back later with our Seattle plans for tomorrow.

Sush - hang in there - I loke your new plan - you have to take care of yourself to take care of anyone else. Be strong.

Kelly - does not sound like nice weather there. Ex-hubby and daughter had a tire come off a truck they were riding in - thankfully no one was hurt.

Christina - thank God hubby was able to keep you safe and sound - enjoy your trip.

Janet - did you enjoy your quiet time.

Lisa - Congrats!!

Son and I just got home and we are having a rain/thunder storm. We had a great time and got to see my grand daughter in her dance recital plus helped my daughter celebrate her birthday!! Love family time!!

Have a great Memorial Day everyone!!

hi everyone sorry i have been such a hermit! I am doing beter must admit it has taken me a bit to process hubbys unwellness for want of a beter word! It wasn't a surprise as I think i new,my reaction is what surprised me!!The reality of having two people in the house with mental health issues just sent me realing!! Reubens special needs are a result of epilipsy that sees his brain seizurzing every 15 secs hence the mental delays ect ect...it is hard work! Some days are more interesting than others so to speak so it was like getting a royal kick in the guts so to speak. I know that neither of them can help it and it is not there fault....I am just human and have a lot to deal with so didn't react very well. The good news is no one was hurt or injured in my dealing with it!! hehe (humour)
I am pleased to say tho that I do serve a very gracious god who is and has always given me the strenght to deal with and cope with everything, sometimes I just forget!! I am also blessed to be in this team and a couple of others where I have made some very good friends who have helped keep me sane and to you guys I wanna say thank you, you often make the difference in a challenging day and give me sunlight where there has been storms!
Any way today i am 48 (hard to beleive ) and I am choosing as of the 1st june to make a bigger effort for myself and my health and fitness as I can't afford to get unwell! Hope you are all having a awsome day and I want to say a big thank you for being a awsome family.

Linda

Hi Girls. Wow everyone's sounding chipper today! Of course because we have so much to celebrate (always hear that song in my head: ce-le-brate good times, come on...)
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon ...to you , Christina!!
...now as for the boat tires...Gary didn't precheck all that?? He sounds like Tim, can't fix something til its broke. We had a tire blow off the axil or whatever when the truck was loaded with coal. The tire flew through bushes in a guys yard and looked like he took a chainsaw to them. Praise God they were decent people and helped us. I still shudder thinking about it. Try to keep your weekend to a minimum of those kind of adventures!
Janet I had a time of it online Norton, finally called on the phone and the guy told me not to try to do it online again. I wasted alot of time trying to do it on my own and he had me all hooked up in a few minutes-ARGH. Sorry you are without wheels. Hope he has ya fixed up by now.
Hot dogs and potato salad...Where?? YUM, but really, in my book, it's not BBQ unless pig is involved. Ribs, roasted pork...lots of smeary sauce. Mmmm. I like hot dogs cooked on a peach stick over an applewood fire. Very specific. My motto: if I'm blowing my cals/fats, then make it the BEST. Learning not to "waste" on just regular, but wait out for SPECTACULAR! I spend alot more time on prepping and savoring...so worth it. I love real BBQ/grill outdoor cooking! Now I'm struggling trying to convince Tim Quality-vs-Quantity, as he pointed out I didn't cook last week!! oops.
Horrible storm again last night. Took kids up to moms for overnight and had to pull over 3 times on my way home. Once I almost peed myself and was begging God for mercy like it was my last minute on earth because of the ominous sky and a roaring sound that was getting louder like a freight train bearing down on me...then realized it really was just a train, felt like a criminal just out of the gallows! What a relief!! We were spared any damage. Tim took me out and we had a nice "date". Mom lost power and her basement flooded, so we were up early to muck her out and open my aunts pool, then went to friends for evening. I missed you all so much today. Spark withdrawal!

Janet how frustrating! I'm assuming they were just the tech people.

We made it here safe and sound. our room has a private balcony with a view of the lake. Indoor pool on the other side. Its almost like Janet helped Gary with the reservations! He's buttering me up b/c he really wants to buy property here:) We drove around for a couple hours looking. He has a couple numbers and knows what he wants. There are no cute cabins. I am ok with a new camper. We decided to put our boat in storage here so we don't have to drive it back and forth anymore.

Everyone must be busy with holiday plans. It is very quiet around here.

Christina~Glad you were able to safely get off the road and able to find a place to buy new tires. Hopefully no more "fun" until you make the lodge!

Getting ready to take Isaac to his birthday party and I'm ready for him to be somewhere else for a few hours. He's just being snotty.

Spent 30 some minutes on the phone trying to figure out what had happened with my virus software...it just stopped be accessible and they wouldn't reactivate it. Only on my laptop. Finally got to the place I could buy the product that would allow three systems and then he wouldn't close the deal. What? You are selling it to me but you aren't? Odd. At least I know what we need now and we can buy it online ourselves.

We are still driving but I had to share our adventure so far...
We were about 45 mins into the drive and one of the boat tires EXPLODED while Gar was driving about 70 mph. He got us off the road safely. We had to take everything out of the back of the car to get to the jack. Thank God I am married to a mechanic! He put on the spare. We drove to Williams town...Not really a town! They have an old walmart out of business tuned into a flea mkt. ...next to that is a Tractor supply where we got another tire and gary changed it in the parking lot so now we have 2 brand new tires on our boat trailer. It's always an adventure with us.

Be back later after we actually get to the lodge

Lisa~Congrats on the 30 lb.

Christina~Get packing!!

Dorothy~Have fun in Buffalo. I went there 3 times last during our game of Rail Baron. LOL

Rain~I hear you on the bbq food! I did buy potato salad and a bunch of fruit to take to a bbq on Monday.

More rain this morning. I usually grumble because I "have to" mow. Now I'm mumbling because I can't. LOL

Tim's digging into the van today so will be without a vehicle until they all get back from taking my dad out for coffee. Nowhere to go anyway without Isaac as he is the one who needs to shop.

I'm thinking scrapbooking today for sure!

Christina~Your boys did great this year with the awards at school! Whoo Hoo! Always feels better once the stitches are out and that is great, great news on the cancer! I have had two spots removed for the same reason. Anyway…great news to have before you head out for your fun weekend! emoticon

Heather~Sorry you had to have your emotional/hormone driven day on the one day you were with the hubby. I am not having those days now that I went on the birth control pills. I was tired of the week-long and random days of being an absolute witch or emotional mess.

Kelly~We are going to need you to do some statue dressing next month so get ready! I spent time getting the rest of the month planned last night and turned pink a couple times. Can’t wait to see my headress! Will you make me a skirt or modest dress to go with it? Sounds like a very long night for all of you with the tornado warnings, etc. Hope you get a better night of rest this evening.

Lisa~Oh yes. The old Panera bread weight gain! I’ve had carb gains too. At least they usual go the other direction fairly quickly. And I would love a bike with a banana seat and the sissy bar! I want mine to have big bright flowers though instead of animal bones. LOL

Dorothy~I should look on Netflix and see if I can find some nature or documentary type things on Africa. Good idea! Today Maegann is all excited about going. Tomorrow… who knows! I remember “Out of Africa” but wasn’t it a love story? Can’t remember.

Regina (aka RainStorm)~Egypt is on my bucket list too. Guess I’ll have to go to Africa first. LOL I will definitely remember to preview any videos I might find on that subject. Couldn’t you just see the lions attacking?! Yikes! Enjoy your time off this weekend!

To our weekend travelers (Christina & Tara)~Have a marvelous time!!!

I finally got to SP about 5 p.m. Busy day! Our original plans were derailed as it chose to rain and rain and rain today. Not good for a picnic and playtime in the park! Several families chose not to change the location to our church gym, so I called the one family I hadn't heard from and she was disappointed, but no sense going for just the two of us. Since we didn't have that I had the kids do a bit more schoolwork and then it was lunch time. Afterwards I took the dogs to the vet for the nail trims and to have Ellsworth's paw looked at. (Thankful they could see us today since I didn't call until 9 a.m.) He's got a bad infection deep inside the pad. Since Jolie was with us they went ahead and gave her the vaccines she needed next month. She'll probably go back next week for a scan on the continuing back thing. After that I headed to the grocery store for things I need tonight and Monday and then to the pharmacy for Jolie's new med. They thought it was funny that they are now treating our family dog as well.

Tonight we asked our friend to come over for dinner and games since we'll be at the homeschool convention next weekend when we were supposed to get together. Looking forward to some fun tonight.

Tomorrow Tim is tearing into the van to fix the cellenoids. Only thing I have to do tomorrow is take Isaac shopping for a birthday gift as he's going to a party at 4. Sunday afternoon (or Monday) I think we might take the kids to see "Hop" since it is now a the $2 theater.

Im huffin and puffin...I think I can I think I can, I think I can...Dorothy you are no match for me!!!

Kelly did you kill that turtle with your bike and steel its shell for a helmet?

Here is my good news!!! I AM CANCER FREE!!!
I now see the Dr rather than the nurse practioner, I sorta liked her, but I like him even better. He is quick and efficiant. He gives a strong opinion. He felt pretty certain the 3 moles he removed today we in the precancer stage and wouldn't rrequire any more surgery. So I won't have to go back for 4 months. I am shouting Praises!

I haven't even started packing! Gotta run to the pharmacy. I really do need the cabana boys assistance today!

Hi Girls! Man I think I took a wrong turn on our bike ride... got side tracked, hit a turtle while reclining on that sissy bar with my feet up on the handle bars, sneaker got caught in the streamers, and smashed up my basket. Had to pick gravel out of my skinned knee...OK, I'm up and running now.
Doro, You are addicted to exercise, look at those fitness mins. Christina is right, we can't compete with that. LOL I go in spurts and overdo it, then pull something, or chaffing...I need to switch pantyliners for summer walking. These (Carefree, on sale) kinda flip and then stick to the wrong thing. Usually happens at the furthermost point from the house...OUCH Things we women have to deal with...tsk,tsk.
Janet, very cool to show Meagan you trust in the God in her for discernment. You gotta go, your headress is almost complete. LOL
Christina. SOOO praying for clean slate today.
Lisa Level 1 Trauma center... I'm drooling!!! Neuro is not my thing, but TRAUMA (as long as I'm on the provider end). That sounds like a fun job... I bet it's hard when they are so young, but I'm thinking mine would be alot further ahead in some aspects if I worked. Guess you never know how it could have been.

We had tornado warnings all around last night. At curves, I got very afraid (that in your spirit kind of fear) so booked home and we all hovered near the basement door and played games. Lost power and kids & I slept on the livingroom floor. Until 2:30 when Liv kept getting up to give Fletch hugs & kisses. I didn't get any sleep til after hauling them up to bed. Today is decent, got the sprinkler out, but more storms to come.
C. and Tara hope all is well. travel mercies to you all. Have a fun time, need all details next week (for my book, of course!) LOL

Wasn't there a movie - Out of Africa - don't know if ever saw it!!

Goodmorning everyone. Hope you guys had a good evening.
Chistine, yes I am off the whole weekend(YAY) for a change. I want to get my hair done, but I need to work in my yard first, of maybe I'll just rest, and worry about that latter. I hope everything works well with getting your stitches out. Janet, the only movie I can think of on Africa is Gorrillia, in the mist and that would probally make it worst. Sometimes children see and feel things that we overlook so I pray that your daughter feels okay.
I said I was going to get a passport from AAA I get one free with my membership and I hoped it would keep me focussed on my virtual walk to Egypt. Egypt is my bucket list trip.
Bloomer, I remember the bikes with the banana seat and the lean back bars, boy are we having a trip down memory lane(LOL)

Have a great day ladies, I need to get my wash out the dryer and then rush out the door to work. emoticon emoticon

Good morning Ladies!

I get to post early today because hubby had to work overtime and my mom can't get the kids until 9:30 a. So I overdosed on Panera bagels yesterday, serious carb overload. I felt horrible all day and the scale is up 2 pounds today.

The rain has been crazy here as Christina can attest to. At least it cooled down and is very pleasant temperature wise and since the AC is still out I am happy!

I think I will need a bike with a banana seat (remember those) and a sissy bar that I can lean back on and put my feet up when going down hill. Don't forget your helmets! I work on the neuro floor at a level 1 trauma center and can tell you we have significant head injuries as a result of bike falls. Maybe Kelly could decorate our helmets with animal bones to make them look more fashionable. Do you think they make animal print bike shorts?

Envious of all you runners out there.

Dorothy, good idea on the Africa movies for Janet's daughter. Only Lion King comes to mind for me..lol

Off to shower and get ready for work. Have a great Friday everyone and a fantastic three day weekend.....yeee haaa!!!!

Good morning Mommie friends!

Heather I have those days notice mine are plural. Usually 2or3 they use to be followed by a headache, I haven't had the headache in the last 2 months.

I am headed to the dermatologist this morning to get the stiches out. I am sooo ready to have this done!!! I am hoping that I am free for 6 months.

I got my bike shorts out and am ready for the ride! Dorothy with all your exercise mins there is no way I am competing against you!!! I am a sore loser!

THe ourdoor sculpture sound nice. Wonder if Kelly can "dress them up' with some of her animal accessories...

My bike shorts are ready!! Who wants to race. It looks so beautiful!!

Christina - Michaesl award ceremony is still a little over a week away. You certainly deserve to be so proud of your boys. i can't beleive Michael is going to middle school next year - i wish time woul slow down a little, I use to hae neighbors that were always putting there food scraps out in the yard for my dogs - one day when Michael was about 4 he comes up on the porch eating a hot dog - I asked him where he got it - out of the neighbors yard. Ugh - told the neighbors to stop doing it!!

Janet - whatever you decide to do I am sure it will be right for the family. I can understanmeghan being a little afraid of Africa - maybe you could rent a couple movies that were filmed there so she could see it in a positive light.

Well - have to go get ready to go to work - hope everyone has a good dy!!

Did I ever tell you guys I actually bought a pair of bike shorts on sale? These have removable spandex liner shorts with the padding. The shorts themselves are a little small but the liner with the pads fit (cause you know spandex is stre e e e chy emoticon ) Of course when I rode the 11 K last Friday I forgot to wear them.

Okay, I have one day during my cycle each month when I am exhausted. Everything is overwhelming and I (who doesn't swear) really want to. That day was yesterday. My poor dh. He was home for one day between a one day and five day trip. Yes it was that day. Thank goodness after almost 20 years he is pretty understanding.

Tara - I sprinted a couple times during my run for you today. I thought my sprint was probably your normal pace. emoticon

Christina - I joined you in belly laughing over Kelly's post. Which one you ask?

Doro - I also feel great after running. I had to talk myself into it today but am so glad I did.

Janet - We also had high wind, rain storm yesterday evening. We watched the dark clouds roll in. It had been a warm, humid day and the air coming with the wind was really cold. Some of the clouds started joining together in a swirl. It was cool standing outside and feeling the temperature change with the wind.

Christie - emoticon

Lisa - are you sore after the trip to the zoo? Sounds like it went well.

Have a great Friday all and a fun weekend especially for Tara and Christina as they get away.

I agree Dorothy...this is my favorite place to stop each day. Kelly definitely needs to write a book! I can just see a fun lady main character and all the crazy situations she gets herself into along the journey.

Rain~I went through a period where I was waking up at 3:00 a.m. every night and I learned there is something in our bodies that "switches" then but it shouldn't awaken us. I just realized that I haven't had that problem since I went on the birth control pills to fix my perimenopausal mood swings. Hmmmm Do you wake up at a certain time each night or just random? Maybe a melatonin would help you get to sleep and sleep sounder. Worth a try and they are cheap.

No crazy animals loose in my house last night. Whew! We did have a wild rain and wind storm though. Couldn't believe all the branches that were down this morning. I had planned to mow but it has already been raining so will just walk on the treadmill instead.

Took the kids to Walgreens and got our passport photos taken. Next week we'll have a family outing to the Passport office in the next town to get our applications submitted. I'd like this off my desk! Must be done whether we go or not. Today I'm feeling better about going to Africa again. I have talked with Maegann though about seriously praying about whether we should go or not. She is scared of us being hurt/captured. I told her we would listen to her warnings as long as we know she is actively praying and listening. That surprised her!

Off to get lunch for the hungry kiddos.

As usual your girls are the highlight of my day - is that good or bad??? I have only had birds, bats, snakes, and bunnies in my house - usually broght in by a cat. Had a quail in our back yard one day - and we live in town!! When I did live in the country I came face to face with a turkey - I do not who was more scared - me or the turkey!! When my girls were yound we took a bunch of girl scouts camping at VA Beach. The raccoons litterly tore apart one of our tents - the one we had our food in - they were pissed because we figured out how to keep the food locked up so they could not get it. They cleaned us out of bread the first night. Don't want to mess with those creatures.

Had quiet the thunderstorm last night. but right now it is beautiful out and I just got back from day 2 of my 5K training. I can't beleive how good it makes me feel!! I think I will start rididing my bike to work and biking at lunch next week. I think I am an addict!! LOL!!!

Hope you are all ahving a wonderful day!!

Janet, a porcipine??? They are like prehistoric ugly creatures. oops, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.... I went through a phase of Native American art and tried to dye quills to make a breastplate. "Collected" them from a roadkill somewhere in WY and my friend (NPS Ranger) told be it was NOT a good idea. After him reading me the riot act, I had to get rid of a dead flicker and woodpecker that were in my freezer.(i did not kill them, but not supposed to have them in your posession). I still have a boxful of turtle shells, fossils, legal feathers, turkey feet, teeth and groundhog skulls.... Tim took my cow skeleton to the dump, it weighed alot and he had to pay $$. Maybe I should try to find some projects the kids could do with all my weird junk. Never thought about any of it as rituals or anything, just pretty...but now I am at a different spot in spiritual growth so i'm more aware. Let me know Janet, I could whip you up a skull necklace with matching feather earrings... you will fit right in over there in Africa!!! Too bad I lost that cow or you could have some cool "clubs" and a set of rib wind chimes!

Hi girls. Up too early. Tim wanted to work on a tractor... I forgot how much I love the warm mornings of a hot to be day. I changed our sheets, ran the sweeper, cleaned off the patio, drank tea, devotions, cooked breakfast for the kids, picked and made meadow tea and caught up on Spark...WHEW! I amaze myself LOL ...now what to do with the next 12 hours. I cleaned out an old dresser and found prekid summer pjs and they fit!!! O happy day to me! Liv ask me if I was going swimming so maybe they are a little tight. But she also asked me if I peed the bed (guess she thinks thats the only time we change hers). Not letting a 3 year old's preceptions steal my joy. I still need new summer clothes, but not at goal yet. Thinking I want to do more dresses/skirts...guess Janet's Africa is rubbing off. I foresee a trip to ABBoutique (thrift). Kids love it there, maybe a floppy hat. The grocery store had some for $3.99, but reminded me of Richard Scary's Penny Pig's hat. See what I can find...time for me to be more "girlie".

Goodmorning everyone; Thanks for all the suggestions and friendly advice you guys gave from yesterday. I need to relax and not beat myself up over everything. I have a problem falling asleep sometimes, but most of the problem is staying asleep. sometimes 2 hours is all I get. Janet what's with the animal running around your house? It always seems as if your day is full of entertainment. Have a great day everyone, I'm running to get to work now.

Kelly~I learned quickly that a ferret is NOT a rodent…it is in the weasel family. They are carnivores! Friendly, little carnivores. I still don’t know how else that animal got into our house other than the doggie door which is in our back door in the middle of the house. When he got in? Where else he went? Not even the hounds have picked up its scent! Since you love crazy stories… the last crazy animal story at my house involved a porcupine. It was about 3 years ago now. One night our Gussie wouldn’t stop barking so we finally went out and found this porcupine behind the yard shed just outside our bedroom. Tim got a dog crate on one end of the shed and then we pushed at it from the other with a broom until it went in. Took us a day or two to find a place to take it so they could take it to the mountains for release. How on earth it got through our pasture fence, through the pasture and then into our back yard which meant another fence….we still don’t know! Maybe lizards and snakes in Africa aren’t so far off for my future huh? Ugh! I still do the part sweet/part diet with my sodas so I won’t come after you about your partial sweet tea.

Tara~We learned today that we are not to clean the tadpole water. It’s already pretty murky in one day! They sure do “jump” often so I’m glad we covered the top opening with cheesecloth! The hubby and I tape a small handful of shows and we watch them after the kids are in bed. Except for Loser…dd started watching that with us this year. Good information for her health anyway. Have a GREAT weekend in the San Juan’s!

Dorothy~So happy you were able to get out on the golf course last night! Have fun in Buffalo with your granddaughters!

Christina~Cabana boys are on their way! Yeah for Johnny! I’m feeling snacky tonight as well and I know it is from the emotions of blowing up at Isaac this morning and all the should we/shouldn’t we’s of Africa.

Oh, goodness! I’ll keep an eye out for those loin cloth clad cabana boys in the barnyard! That made me laugh out loud and I needed it right now Kelly!

Bible study went well. Talked about the power of faith and what that really means in our lives.

Seattle tomorrow: The Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture and then dinner at 13 Coins Restaurant.

Cabana boys on the way-got them on speed dial LOL Maybe they better get you girls all packed for the weekend and then head over to protect Janets chickens. Why am I picturing loin clothes, face paint and spears doing tribal dances around the chicken coup?? Then cooking a ferret over an open fire...OK back to Spark.
Tara, that sounds like a nice profession. I can't imagine what it would be like. Not sure why I spent 20+ years scraping scum off peoples teeth--but I love it. Cool how God equips us all differently. That's so nice you are close to the Daycare. My girlfriend watches mine. They usually run and hide when I come to pick them up. I guess its better than them hating it. Just makes me feel bad. They often ask to go there.
Christina emoticon to Matt and Johnny! And you too!!! I'm glad you have Benj to give you those "moments to remember" LOL. I wouldn't know what to do with one like that. Chaz is quite the comedian, but never set off any alarms (other than a period of being obscessed with my car alarm). OK come to think of it, maybe he is more like Benj Hmmm.

Got to go to Curves! Nice evening outside at moms with kids playing. Now they are all tucked in and Tim's exhausted and I looked at the clock thinking I could go to bed early and its almost 11!!! Where does the time go?

i forgot to say strollers and grocery baskets! Oh my Nothing could contain Benj from the time he was about 9 months. If he was buckled in he would scream! He threw the worst fits about shopping! At about 1 and 1/2 I had a shopping event so tramatic with him I left the store crying. I know it sounds crazy why couldnt a 40 yo woman with 6 boys manage a toddler! He was so sick all the time. Once while he was admitted in Childrens hospital for a few days he pulled the code blue button... twice! How embarrassing! Nurses came running from everywhere. He was so quick. he climbed up on the back of a couch and grabed it before I could stop him. DID I SAY HE IS OUR LAST ONE!!!!

Packing OH CRAP! Could someone send the cabana boys to Tara and I! I haven't even thought about packing to go to the lake!

I just got in from 5th grade awards night. Johnny got several awards!!! He is such a great student! He got an award for writing, honor roll and a presidential excellence award. It came with a letter from the president and a little gold pin. He is so excited! I was also proud of Matthew although he didn't get academic awards his teacher spoke highly of his improvements and work ethics. Mostly I was proud of him for being happy for Johnnys awards. He was proud of his brothers accomplishments.I love seeing the maturity . He has come so far!!!

I am desprately trying to stay away from snacks tonight! I keep telling my self I worked out so hard today just to eat up the extra calories. I cant even figure out what emotion I am wanting to feed?

Janet- That’s great that you home school. I think it’s a pretty cool thing to do. Yay! For tadpoles. What a fun lesson. I don’t know what to say about the ferret. That’s pretty crazy.

Kelly- I’m a project manager for research studies (mostly health services, not medications or devices or anything like that). I was fulltime but went back 80% after my maternity leave. (Can’t believe I’ve been back a year already.) I always thought I would want to go back but it ended up being really hard for me. I got my master’s degree in 2006 and thought of myself as a professional, so it really surprised me that I didn’t want to go back. My son got into a daycare 3 blocks from my work or I don’t think I would have gone through with it. It is funny how things don’t always end up as we imagine. It’s great that you can work part-time until you decide you want to work more.

Heather- congrats on your 5K!!! Do a couple miles for me, please!
emoticon

Christina- A 5K is a wonderful goal! I will cheer all of you on since I can’t join you!

I don’t watch Biggest Loser or Dancing so I’m totally clueless with all the comments. We actually hardly ever turn on the TV. I just don’t know when I would have time for it.

Hi to everyone I missed! Today is my day off and I'm supposed to be packing for the weekend so I better get to it.

You girls are up to all sorta stuff!!! Injure giraffs, and baby armidillos....did you say a ferret IN your house?? So glad I checked in before heading to rescue mom's fridge. We will meet Tim there and I can ditch the kids with mom and hit her curves and walk in my old 'hood. Yeah. All the years I lived in town/developments I never had a crazy ferrret on the loose. Why do they even have a rodent as a pet? a chicken killing ferret sounds dangerous. What if its rabid? ...and I thought Africa would be the weird animal place.
Lisa, re: strollers. LIVE IT UP NOW. Mine were so good and my friends kid would climb out of hers before a year old. I always counted my blessings there. Now they aren't even into wanting in the carts at the grocery store and I'm selling my strollers at the yardsale. I better clean them up a little. It made it so easy. Now I have trouble holding both kids hands and carrying my Sweet tea out of McDs HEHE. Disclaimer-I use 3/4 unsweet and only some sweet so relax Janet(I know you were on me about switching off the sweetened).
I'm so hot...Ok where is spring? o yea I guess it is almost June. Wow.
Christina. You owe me a thumbs up. I put long sleeve tees on the kids today to go to the playground. I didn't realize it was going up to 86! The people at Mcd's playground looked at me like I had my kids on a leash with a sign "kidnapped" on them. Guess I better switch over to sunscreen for the summer. But I was "AWARE".
You all stay away from ferrets...later Cahz just ran down through the orchards...

I know Christina! This is the kind of stuff Kelly thrives on! LOL

Lisa~Sounds live a VERY nice day at the zoo. I meant to get the kids to our zoo before the schools let out, but the weather just didn't cooperate with the available days. Will have to do it before it gets too much warmer. The animals aren't out as much when it is hot.

The ferret belonged to the neighbor and she felt horrible that it killed one laying hen and injured a meat chicken. At least he is back where he belongs! Guess he got off his leash last night and they tried to find him for over an hour. Now that it has the taste of real poultry, just letting him out in their yard may not be the wisest decision.

Very windy here today. Did get out for our errands and then stopped at McD's for lunch. Next came a nap....I was exhausted and now I must get busy on my Bible study.
