Christie~So glad to hear from you and learn where you're at on the baby trail! Still holding out for pink for you.....

Christina~That "possessions" thing is a toughie. I guess you have to figure out if they are an idol or not and in your case it doesn't sound like it to me. I don't see you constantly mining for more "things." Glad you had a fun night in the rainstorm playing Uno.

Dorothy~Did you get to ride the lazy river? Sounds nice to me today. We spent 2 1/2 hours at the HOT county fair. 98 degrees and no breeze. Ugh!

Kids enjoyed the fair and we were there long enough to see everything and then spent half an hour letting them ride a few rides. Just so expensive!

Tonight we're heading to church to hear some missionaries speak. They are from an area where they have to be in secret so that should be interesting.

Okay....off to get your flight in the air!

It ended up raining here so we got the boat back in storage and hung out here at the campground just incase the storms got worse. We had a great time we rode bikes and while the rain came we played Uno with the boys. We laughed so hard Gary was crying! Times like this is where you reallysee the boys personalities thier guard is down and it is nice to just have FUN with no other agenda. Not sure what we are gonna do this morning. THey are still asleep. Either some fishing at the trout stream or a hike at the state park, then the drive home. We have Youth group tonight,so I have to leave here by 1.

Kelly Glad the van is purchased! and you got some deals thrown in!!!

Dorothy what movie did you see? We usually only stay for 1 movie too. I can't stay awake for 2.

Janet I can hardly wait to see what you have planned for us! When I had my hair cut last month she layered the top more and I hate it! it is constantly in my face and I can't keep it up unles I wear a bandana. So this month I just colored the gray myself and I probly will for several months until I really need a trim again.

Today's lesson was #33 serving the master...hold on losely to things. I'll just say OUCH! Although Gary and I live fairly simple lives, not a fancy house or cars, we do have a lot of "things". There has to be a balance here somewhere. We enjoy our "things"(camper, boat...) as family time. Scripture is Matthew 6:19-34. Any thoughts?

Alright Janet Reveal the secret!!!! I am in line at the airport right behind Dorothy! Or Are we all going for a road trip in Kelly's new van?

Fun, did I hear fun. Not butting in line Kelly - I am first in line for fun!!

Hubby will probaly be in the hospital one to two nights following surgery, I usually stay in the Family house - they rent out nice rooms for around $50.00 night to families whos loved ones are in the hospital. The have a fully equipped kitchen and a living room area too - very very nice.I am planning on taking Micahel with me - hoping him and I can slip away one afternoon and go to the water park. I will have to make arrangements for someone to come and feed our dogs and let them out. Took him to the the drive in last night and he only wanted to stay for one movie ???? That was fine by me becasue I had to get up to work today.

Kelly - funny about the lights. I think you will be very happy with your van - want to come negotiate for me?? Good job on the calorie crunching this week!!

Janet - awesome on the cleaning out of the cupboard. I have a spare bedroom that could use your expertise, Hubby thinks it is a big extended closet for him and has closthes lying around in piles everywhere. I have no clue what it is all about - and it is always on the bottom of my list to get done. Plus our basement - you can't even walk around down there - he has so much stuff. It overwelms him - and it makes me crazy. I am biginning to think he has adult ADHD,, I have read up on it and it causes depression, anxiety, the need to have stuff, anger, and the unorganization. Definatelly sounds like someone I know. But how to get him diagnosed.

Christina - I want to be on a boat floating around and relaxing. Ah - relaxing. I will have some time hopefully for that when hubby is in the hospital. Good work week coming up though, I only have to work one night, next weekend, and then I am off for a week. And if I make it to the water park i will be floating in the lazy river - I wonder if they have a poolside bar - lol!!!

Last weeks defeat is a gateway to many victories.

Lord - grant me the Serenity to accept the things I can not change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Dorothy~Wish I enjoyed yard work more than I do. You’re right though…everyone leaves you alone! LOL How long will your hubby have to be in the hospital following surgery?

Kelly~Badminton has been a calmer thing to do in the evenings when the kids still need to be busy but we want them calmer. It’s a trick! LOL I always enjoyed tennis though so I don’t mind. Too funny about the lights…. But congrats on the Sienna! I would have loved to have a Toyota van instead of a Dodge, but we couldn’t swing it financially at the time. ENJOY!! Sounds like it was a good thing you were there to work magic on the details!

Christina~Love the visual of the new bike. LOL Enjoy! Good job being consistent with your bible study!!! I need to start reading my Chronological Bible every day. It’s on the “to do” list!

I am feeling better today thankfully. The worst is over I am guessing.

I headed to church this morning and spent two hours cleaning out the homeschool supply cabinet and reorganizing it. I must say it looks great and usable now! I couldn't believe the chaos I found when I opened the doors. I threw away a huge trashbag full of stuff too. Feels great having that chore checked off the list and it is wonderful knowing we have a good start on some basic supplies when we begin in September. Now we can put our "what each family brings" list together at the meeting on Thursday easily.

Got hair trims this afternoon and I decided to work at growing mine out the next several months until after Africa so I can easily pull it away from my face and neck since it will be so hot all the time. Maegann chose to cut hers shorter (yeah!) in the back and angle it down to the front. Looks cute!

I'm back in control of things today and it feels great!

Enjoying your last Saturday in Finland everyone? I'm going to send out your travel papers tomorrow sometime for our August adventure! It's going to be fun, fun, fun..... Did I mention fun? emoticon

Hi. Decision done. I took Tim and he fell for every line they suckered him in with so we bought a Sienna for more $$ than the guy quoted me. Tim was sideing with the salesman! I fiqure he is the one who technically is head of the house, he's the breadwinner .... I did interject and got them below invoice, nice floor mats, extended warrenty and agreement they will come to my house, pick up my van and leave a NICE replacement here for all repairs--and full tank of gas/wash everytime!! Tim's eyes were about popping out during all the negotiating.LOL He HATES it! I could careless and am determined to get all I can. Never hurts to ask....

I wasup late. we are in Central time here. We roasted hotdogs and then smores over the fire. I Thought Benj would never go to sleep last night. Mybe it was the sugar! We are out on the boat now Gary is fishing and I just finished my bible study for the day. The topic was fasting.

No padded panties BUT I did get a BIG BUTT comfy seat. It is NOSELESS LOL Good thing the campground is almost empty this weekend.

Kelly Good luck making that van decision!

Good Sat morning. I'm off to curves to do weighins. I'm REALLY crunching the cals this week. NO frappes all week!
Doro. Will you stay in Ptsbg? Around here the back surgeries are in and out thing. Amazing. Most people go to Williamsprt. Glad you rented that out. It would be a pain in the butt to take care of all that on your own. Camps are nice in theory, but by the time I got everything ready, got there and cleaned up, I'd be wishing I stayed home to get stuff done there. Thus Tim and I have never been on vacation. I get a headache thinking about it! Thanks for the van plug! EVeryone who has them loves them. I just feel safer in SUV. Not sure why.
Christina up late??? I think I beat you to bed last night! Mark that in the LIL Mommie archives! So did you get the padded panties to go with the bike??
Janet. Badminton at my house would be violent. Seems my kids are cavemen at heart and all sports equipment becomes survivalists tools. I can't say I'm much for badminton myself. I better start sendiing them to summer camp so they can get exposed to normal activities.

Drove the van to the store last night- no automatic headlights??? Must be missing them. I was driviing down my lane thinking "they have really crappy lights" - then discovered I actually need to turn them ON. Big difference!

Heather - I live 20 minutes from Jamestown - my grandmother lived there. Enjoy your family.

Christina - as much fun as the love shack would have been - you are right - it would have been a lot of work. We have a camp 16 miles away and usually in the summer we are up there every weekend mowing. Hubby rented it out this year and I am glad because with two jobs and his back there is no way I could keep up. I am having a hard time getting up there to get the blueberries picked. Plus we had a rental for a while - selling it on a land contract and what a relief - trying to maintain three propertys was hard. Enjoy your camping and your bike riding.

Janet - I am working all weekend. But I do have Friday nights off now and am enjoing them. Last night I worked out in the yard for two hours pulling weeds and scooping up dog poop - glad hubby and son wanted those dogs. But yard work is therapeutic to me. No one bugs me - lol!!!! but the bugs - lol!!!

Only worked part of the day yesterday - took hubby to get a shot in his back and Monday to Pittsburgh for a treatment. His surgery is a week and a half away and while he is in the hospital I will have lots of down time.

Last weeks defeat is a gateway to many victories.

Kelly~Enjoy your Jetmoblie while you have it! Dealers around here don't let you drive without them in the vehicle anymore. Hope the kids went to sleep for you. I totally understand those days where you just need the quiet.

Heather~Enjoy the time with family in OK!

Still rather sluggish today but I did field some phone calls regarding the homeschool group and got some meal prep done for the weekend. Tonight the kids wanted to play badminton so we set it up in the front yard and had at it for about an hour. It was fun.

Our last weekend in Finland is here! Watch for your travel itinerary this weekend sometime! Anyway...naturally we must do some last minute shopping and then we're just going to pamper ourselves at the Dkausk Day Spa.

Oh, Heather, that would be awful to loose keys...so, are you sure you were just "sitting" by that tree, hmmm!
It is so cool how God helps us with those types of situations. I drove to Baxter State Park in Maine, stopped at a store before the park and drove 10 miles on a dirt road--evidentally with my wallet on the rear bumper. I discovered it was missing when I went to pay the entrance fee, and the ranger said , "you might want to keep it inside for the rest of your trip", as he pointed to the rear of the Jeep. I couldnt believe it stayed there all those bumpity roads.
This Routan doesn't have a a key. It looks like a plastic remote with a microchip that you stick in to start it. Reminds my of a flash drive. Crazy. Not sure I can get used to that! Getting too old.....lol. The kids want to ride around watching DVDs. Has one for each row of seats. REALLY? Can't the 3rd row people look a few extra feet to see that one??? When they are down, it's a little distractiing to see out of the rearview mirror, but hey, that's what the back up camera is for I guess.... I feel like Wilma Flintstone buying a spaceship from the Jetsons!! I gotta make sure we have room for Astro! Bam-Bam and Pebbles about destroyed it. The kids have "moved in" already I have stuffed snakes, and puppies in every compartment!

My kids NEED to go to sleep, before I go crazy. I love them, but enough is enough. No naps and Liv is doing anything to stay up. Tim is away and will be home very late. LONG day. Somehow I ended up back on the van thing. Tim insisted I try the VW dealer, 30 miles away.I called to see if he could bring the van to me, and he did, In fact he traded me cars for the weekend! I'm driving a brand new Routan!!! So excited! Of course its a bit more than I would like to spend...Not really sold on it, but LOVE the suck-up salesman!! That's how I think costumer orriented businesses should be. We drove it to the Toyota lot, (place were they are NOT suck up) and Tim met us there to see it. Nobody even came out on the lot from Toyota. The VW man was shocked. (VW man swapped the car seats out for me!!! BIG PLUS) So me and the kids were running around all evening in the new van.
All I can think of is the VW bus.... LOL Since the love shack fell through, maybe I don't need the VW van. I like the Sienna interior better, but VW exterior, HMMMM. Since I will be inside driving it,,,HATE these decisions...and I was struggling over which P Chef products to get!

Hi Ladies,
I read back a few posts to have a little idea of what's going on but I'm sure I missed a ton. We are now in OK with dh family. His sister, who has ALS, is doing much better since her gall bladder surgery. Her surgeon said they usually count how many stones are there but she had hundreds so they couldn't count them all. It has been bothering her for months but with the ALS diagnosis in the same time frame they were thinking the pain had something to do with that. Muscle usage continues to degenerate. Just yesterday her right leg can no longer hold her up. That means no more walker and a few more adjustments around the house. She is such a trooper.

It's been good to see dh after three weeks apart. Extended family is coming in this weekend for reunion type visit. Today went to the local pool with the kids. Fortunately it was indoor so didn't have to boil in the water in the sun :). I did see a poster for Spark People there, cool.

Kelly - when dh and I were engaged we had rented a car and drove to southern Germany for the day. Dh had put the rental car keys in his shirt pocket when we stopped to go for a walk in the woods. When we got ready to leave he couldn't find them. After a lot of prayer they were found at the base of a tree where we had sat for a while. Glad you found that checkbook.

Christina - happy for you about the bike. I love mine. Sorry about the love shack.

Janet - enjoy the fair. This 100+ heat is for the armadillos emoticon . I try but I'm just not as funny as Kelly.

Dorothy - Family coming in is from the Buffalo area. Dh's aunt came today from Jamestown. She said it's been hot up there too, but not quite so bad as here.

Have a great weekend! Heather

Dorothy~Hope you have some time off this weekend! Hi Ho Hi Ho..... emoticon

Christina~Enjoy the lake this weekend! I think since the deal fell through your choice of a pop-up and continuing in that fashion for awhile is solid.

We will head to the county fair on Sunday. Going to attend an earlier service at a church we used to attend and then grab a snack at home before heading to the fair about 11. The carnival opens at 1 so this way we can get the wandering done prior and then head home after the rides. Especially with the high temp to be near 100 that day...we want to be done by 2.

Otherwise, no big plans other than haircuts in the afternoon on Saturday.

Hi Mommies! I have just arrived at Well Park. I am happy to see it is near the Bay and there are Rollercoasters! I am wondering about a couple things the woman standing by the small door that appears to go underground? What are they hiding in there!!! and What are those silver looking pipes? Very Intriguing!

I love pampered Chef! Kelly I am so glad you found your checkbook, AND you showed up last night!

Dorothy I hope you have some off time for the weekend.

The Love Shack fell through. It is in a very poverty stricken rural area. It is a young couple with 2 boys that own and live in it full time. So when our bank had it apraised it came back 5,000 less than what they needed to break even so we dropped it. Gary and I didn't want them to lose in the deal, nor did we want to pay more than it was worth. So ... Gary bought a new pop up camper last week. We just decided to continue going our usual campground and wait another year or 2 before we buy property down there. I am honestly relieved! I wasn't crazy about owning property 3 hours from here that had to be kept up year round. We do well just to keep up around here and help with our adult kids.

I am cooking and packing we are leaving for the lake in a couple hours. Oh yea, I bought a bike last night. Just a cheap one from walmart, but I got a BIG comfy seat to put on it.

Kelly~I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Pampered Chef! Wish I could have been at your show! And mango salsa...how did you prepare that? Sounds like a recipe I'll need in Africa as mangoes are plentiful. Glad you found that checkbook. I did the "please God help me find" prayer with a key I needed to a lock box once. Worked!

I'm sure this is a cold now and have felt lousy all day. I think Kelly is right...the down time got me! Spent time tonight planning our August adventure! It's going to be FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

Finland tomorrow....and you do realize we only have 3 more days there don't you?! Anyway... we're going to Well Park tomorrow. Hopefully no more urinals for Christina to find!

I believe in miracles....(why does that weird song come to mind?)---Praise God, I found the checkbook!! --under Tims seat. the cover is the same color as the interior, and I searched---finally as I was crying out for God to show me where it was, I felt the need to look one more time and ...WALA. I was very happy. The lady at the bank was seconds away from pushing send to alert all branches of the loss....
I hosted pampered Chef show tonight, so that had me occupied. Good show and I get $190 free products!==of course me deciding what to get will be a chore.
Hi Jennifer. I don't know if I met you pre ankle, did you have surgey?
Christina I hate when I lose things. I feel wounded. Guess my ego bruises lightly. However, this one was NOT my lost, but hey, i guess taking the blame isn't that bad. (because I KNOW LOL) Lets try out those urinals!
Doro we got the rains today! Over an inch. I was handing out towels at the door to my P Chef party gals.
Janet, another Nothing day--be careful, you are not used to that!!--Now look, you went and cought a cold...your body just doesn't like those nothing days. Hope you get some good rest. I need some for sure.
Lin, are you still working?
Off to bed, I sure missed you gals today. I didn't even do my quick fires. Got curves in!! We made mango salsa and had fruit tray with decaf, hardly sweet tea, so think I did well.

Hi Jennifer,
Glad your getting back on track! What happened with your ankle?

Kelly Where's the checkbook? I rarely ever carry the checkbook. Last year when we went to enroll the boy in school and pay their school fees I left it on the registration desk at the middle school. I had no idea I had even lost it. The school secretary called me at 10:00pm that night and told me she had it! I was so grateful. Gary always blames me for being irresponsible about putting things away. I am getting better though as I get older!

The piano tunner *sp? should be here any time now. Johnny is so excited!

Hi everyone.
Just wanted to say hi to all my good friends and supporters and introduce myself to those of you that have joined while I was off in non-spark mode.

emoticon

I am back on track now and planning, planning, planning. I have started an intense 5 week program of juicing and healthy eating to get my brain back into healthy eating habits. I am also trying to swim and do strength exercises that with strengthen my injured ankle (the source of my non-exercising, eat everything in sight problem).

happy sparking to everyone!
Glad to be here with you

Kelly~Did you find the lost checkbook?

Lynn~Hi!!!! That class does sound very fun. We should all go!

Dorothy~Glad the golf game went well and yes, it does seem odd that the seasons are coming so quickly to begin thinking bowling instead.

Bible study was nice tonight. Just needed the time away from everything today to be in God's Word with others. Ephesians is a challenging book but has been so affirming.

Tomorrow is another "nothing" day other than swim lessons. Nice!!!! I didn't exercise again today though...tired after two nights of not sleeping well and just didn't feel well. I have something going on with my sinuses too...might be a cold coming on but it just doesn't feel like that. Anyway...took a nap instead.

We had a wonderful treat tonight for dinner. FRESH salmon thanks to the neighbors! It was absolutely yummy. Put steamed zucchini and peaches with it.

Hi Lynn! It is hard in this heat to get out and exercise. Do you have any videoes you can do inside? or even some of coach nicole's 10 min videos are great.

Lynn - glad to see you back. Sounds like a fun class for Faith. Is there anywhere you can walk that is out of the heat??

Hello ladies!
Just wanted to check in for a minute. I really need to catch back up!

I've been MIA due to work - I've been on overload since our summer training. I'm very close to having everyone paid - that will be a huge blessing because I can spark a little then!

I have enrolled Faith into a dance class starting in a couple of weeks. She is so excited! It's very Christian atmosphere oriented and they also teach Praise and Worship dance. Now that's something I'd like to learn if my body would move correctly! ;-)

Eating has been horrible and still no exercise. If I would just start I know that I'd get motivated. Maybe when the weather/heat lets up I can start back on my lunch walks.

Hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon! I'll try to check back in later or tomorrow for sure!

Lynn (LinneyB)
Ohatchee, AL

For I know the plans I have for you - plans to prosper and not to harm....

Taking it one day at a time! :O)

So ready for the dinner cruise - sounds wonderful. It was a beautiful night for golf last night - a bit windy but perfect temps. Great sleeping weather again last night and today feels awesome out. Loving it!! I had anoterh good week of golf too - who hoo!! emoticon Sad to think it will be coming to an end soon and bowling will start up - I am not ready!!

Christina - sounds like we may be in the same boat. I am a very structured person and my husband does not know what a scheule is - lol!! Makes me crazy - Micahel has not been on a schedule all summer and will have to get back on one very soon. What is happening with the "Love" shack??

Janet - I wish I could be as organzied as you - I love organization!! Sounds like a pretty relaxing day for you.

Kelly - what is going on in your household today??

I'm Up! I'm Up!

Started a little slow this morning as I just haven't been sleeping soundly lately. Keep waking up 3-4 times during the night. ugh!

I've been working on my personal "to do" list which I found funny today after my blog last night about that very thing. Anyway...getting the phone calls and simple little things checked off. Just pushed them to the back while working on the homeschool stuff.

We're off to swim class in an hour and then I promised the kids waffles for lunch today so will spend time doing that. Then will come walking and bible study lesson. Making baked chicken for dinner so will need to get that ready too. Thinking zucchini with it as it is quick.

It turned out to be a nice day here, even though it started off rough. It s funny Benjamin HATES being corrected. I just mentioned time out again and he straightend right up. He is so independent, and we encourage that most of the time. Tonight he insisted on having carrots with cool whip for snack.

Janet that sounds frustrating! I am not great with administrative things like you. I get distracted to easily. Our days here are fairly structured, but Gary is very spontanious. He has rubbed off on me after all these years.

So I accidentally watched the world news tonight. They showed these starving babies in Somolia, Africa and I am heartbroken! It looked like hundreds of children starving and needing medical attention. So I looked it up on the internet and it seems that is is partly due to politics. I want to go help!!!

Dorothy~I’m the same way with the 80’s but after scorching at 100 or near for a week or more, it feels downright cool! LOL

Christina~Hope your patience won out this morning! Wish Isaac would learn that quickly with a time out and warning. He pushes for weeks on end!

Kelly~Nice that several of us are having a reprieve from the heat today. Naturally I’ve always been a routine/scheduled person and now with Isaac’s need for knowing what the day will bring it got worse.

The temp did drop last night and we've only been in the mid 80's today with a great breeze blowing. I mowed first thing while it was still 65-70 (aaahhhh!). The kids had safety day at swim lessons and it was a good day for that being so much cooler. They did get in the water for about 10 minutes though. Only 3 more days of lessons. Going quickly this year.

Had to spend time recreating a mail list for the homeschool stuff as I found my service provider is way too selective with choosing spam when a distribution list is lengthy. Made a temporary place on GMail and sent it out again with an apology to those who did actually receive the first one. Crazy!

No plans for tomorrow either except Bible study lesson and walking. I WILL get back on that treadmill. I have not used it since going to summer camp. I can tell too.

My boys were off the charts this morning. But we all survived! I am having to start really cracking down with Benj. He has some bad behaviors like when I tell him to do some thing he screams no and tells me what he is doing. I take the blame on this one as I have ignored it rather than correct it for to long. Now that he is turning 5 I am going to have to be a bit more firm with him:) Ususally I ignor the screaming and just keep directing him to what what needs to be done, but today I sent him to time out after a warning. He is a quick learner!

Kelly I hope you are having a nice Picanic! I think I am going to get a shower and head to the library.

Hi girls.
I tried to start a morning routine. I must be crazy to think I can stand a routine.Nothing in my "happy" life was routine. Not chaotic, but sporadic was the motto. For some reason, having kids has made me feel I HAVE to become routine and I am not doing too well. Sucumbing to peer pressure for the 1st time in my life...failing miserably! How can I teach them when I hate it???
We are having a cold wave...only 80 at noon. Nice breeze. Weird thing: my brown grass is covered with yellow little leaves. Think they are off the locust trees, or beech. I don't ever remember seeing them before. NOT in july. Chaz found a locust shell and a huge bug I've never seen. Odd things....
Liv is driving my crazy about the "pick-a-nic" basket. Guess we are off for a picnic. I'm feeling lazy, but gotta get it together. Zumba kicked my butt!

Janet - we have not mowed in two weeks becasue the grass is so brown. I have lots of clover and weeds growing though. its only suppose to be in the 80's here today too - so funny - usually the 80's is too hot for me - looking forward to it today.

Christina - beleive me I do not skimp on my sleep. I am usually in bed by 9:00 - I am unbearable without 7 to 8 hours of sleep. I love a full house - glad it was a good time last night. Gma sounds like a hoot - give her a hug for me!!

Kelly - just ant pee - lol!!! Zumba was great - first time I have been all summer - forgot how much I enjoy it - new instructor and she was very good. Can't wait to go again. Golf tonight!!

Meet you all at the Old Market Hall!

Breathing a sigh of relief tonight.... I got "the" email sent out to everyone regarding the homeschool group and all the meetings are set with the church for us to use for planning and registration/class sign-ups. Whew! Now I can breathe for a week and make my list of what we need to do at the leader meeting and what I need to ask the mentors from the other co-op.

There's a wind blowing and it has dropped us from 100 to 80 in a quick time! Yeah!!!! May actually have the mid 80's for a high tomorrow as promised which means I can mow in the morning and get that done before it bounces back up to the 90's again.

Isaac had a rough day listening and staying focused. We're sure it was due to a short night of sleep. He just couldn't get to sleep until almost 1 a.m. Never good for him! Would have been a perfect day to see the specialist!

I'm here, Drowning in the ant pee of rain! LOL too funny! the rain circled around us last night too! UGH we need it.

Dorothy I dont know how you get everything done! When do you sleep? I need 7-8 hrs or Im grouchy.

I had a busy day. I took the boys to the park this am then we went to get Matthew fitted for new glasses. Piano lessons. then big family dinner. a bunch of the kids were here. I love those weeknights like that! Gary grill sirloin burgers, and vegies.

My gma was full of herself for sure. She picked greenbeans for me before I was even out of bed this am! She told me about it to. LOL too funny In the 25 years of being married that is probly about the 5th or 6th time she has ever called me!

Janet, I hate sched conflicts. Too bad it didn't work. You have been waiting so long.
Doro I bet you and the girls are such fun! My nephew is getting married next month. Seems funny these "kids" getting married. 25 seems young to me! Hope you get to bed early. NO WAY do I like 4:30 am. Did that for work at the post office during college breaks and during pregnancy with Chaz (swam every am - in the pool by 5). I love the peacefulness of that hour when I'm camping, or special day--NOT routinely! Nice you get your day in early though. How'd zumba go? We only got an ant pee of rain. Storms must be circling around us. Very humid and buzzzing with crickets and tree frogs.
C. where are you...Gma straightening you up?
Zumba was fun tonight, but since i missed 2 weeks, I feel it! Awesome.

Kelly~You kept me in stitches with your old people stories! LOL

Christina~Hope gma didn't throw a cabbage at you!

Dorothy~Glad you enjoyed the shower and time with your girls.

I had planned to mow this morning but when it was already 75 in the shade I knew it would be near 90 within an hour or two. I was right! Tomorrow they are saying we will only see 85 as a high (wouldn't that be a break from the 100s!) so will try again in the morning. Instead I did some things in the house to make the day easier and then took the kids to their swim lessons. This afternoon I met the same SP friend at Moxie as she wanted to give me her homeschool deposit, chat and enjoy an italian soda. It was a nice hour. One "drats" moment came when the specialists office called with a cancellation that we could fill today. It was right at the same time as swimming and we'd have less than an hour to get there. Figured "no" was the correct answer this time. Just wish it had been for the afternoon!

So much as usual going on.

Kelly - I have never been a night owl. I could go to bed right now - lol!!! I think I am going to try zumba tonight - haven't been in ages - and then I will take Michael to Boy Scouts. Thne my night will beabout over. I have always been an early riser but this getting up at 4:30 is really draining me. Although I love my morning walk. Micahel has become a noght owl this summer and very soon I am going to have to get hime back on a regular schedule. But staying home with his dad all summer it has worked becasue Mike sleeps alot during the day. Did you get any of the sever thunder storms today?? They looked like they were over your area. We had a couple go through but we needed the rain desparately.

Janet - I think it doesn't matter if it is a boy or a girl - if you have a sensitve child that takes everything to heart it just makes everything difficult. Wish we could rap them in plastic bubble wrap and protect them. I am sure with you guiding her it will all work out.

Christina - funny story about gma. I miss mine still so much - she was the best. She had 24 grandkids and could make them all fill like you were her favorite. One special lady. She has been gone over 20 years now - hard to believe.

Nieces bridal shower went well yesterday and it was good to spend some time with my girls. Nice to have a day off too - although I did clean - the never ending chore.

Did I just say I like old people??? Just came home from the grocery store. Went for a few items and took FOREVER. The 1st aisle, a sweet elderly lady made such a fuss over my kids, I let her hug them. By the 4th aisle, I realize she doesn't know we are the same ones she talked to EVERY aisle....My kids were literally climbing over the cart, hanging upside down, and grabbing each other in headlocks while I'm praying to just get out of the store. Then she got down on the floor with them and I had to help her up because she got lightheaded. I had to force myself to be patient and remember it's not always about ME. The kids got quite the talking to on how I expect them to act in public even though someone seems to be enjoying their circus routine. Started to think I needed to give her a ride home, but her assumed husband appeared (must do the shopping while she socializes). He was almost professor like. People amaze me. Just wish I didn't work up a sweat trying to control my kids while smiling to be polite to strangers

That is great to hear C---Gma sounds back to herself!! She must be a fiesty one! Watch out. I remember my G ma throwing a cabbage at me...don't think I was the blame, but I got the brunt. That part Native American in her gave quite the temper! She always said it was living through the depression, Pap off to war, babies to raise and workiing in a shirt factory all her life. Think that would make me throw more than cabbage!! I love older people with the stories and quirky, spunky ways. To think that will be us some day....YIKES Glad to see she keeps her eye on you!

Good Morning!

I made it to bed at 11:30. That is a bit late for me! LOL I usually get up by 6:30. I was laying in bed this am reading my daily devo. when my Gma called. She said " its about time you get outa bed." LOL very funny gma! I was in trouble for not showing my face over there this weekend. she had already done laundry and been out in the garden. She has veggies picked for me:) I promised to walk over in a bit.

Janet sending up prayers for Maegann. She sounds so sensitive and sweet. I'm sure it is hard raising girls and keeping a good balance with the emotions.

I better get over to Gma's before I get in trouble! It's already 9:15!!!

That is a nice perk! Homeschooling would not do justice for my kids. I even score low on teaching as a spiritual gift. Chaz is very excited about riding the bus and using different bathrooms. That sure makes it worth spending $$$ on tuition (I try to talk myself into it)My kids both learn better from others. I tried to teach them how to shower a zillion times. Tonight I put both in with me after my walk. Thinking they would learn better if I demonstrated. NOT one of my stellar ideas. Tim was complaining about wasting water. It was like bathing elephants at the circus. They had fun, but not sure any lesson learned. My personality doesn't do well with slow, so I end up lathering them up...I know if I keep doing everything for them, they will not be independant. Keep praying school will help. I like knowing they pray too!

Oh, I feel for her. Her tender heart is so sweet....HUGS to you for helping her through these times. I agree I need to get my act together on the bedtime thing. I enjoy hanging out at night...Liv pretends to read stories, and Chaz always comes up with new inventions. It's like their minds work differently after 9. They are like me...nighthawks. I think I function better at night--especially creatively. Strange.

Hope those kiddos get to bed soon for you! We just tucked ours in and dd is reading for a few minutes as usual. They put up a small fuss, but they know when we say "It's time for bed." we mean it. Kelly...maybe just start heading them towards bed about 10 minutes earlier each night of two to work into the earlier routine for school.

If you ladies think of it would you pray for Maegann. Her friend that she's been best buddies with forever is changing and we (Tim and I) think it has to do with her mom being the children's director and life being upside down and topsy turvy now. Her dad is also working an odd schedule. Gen is nice to her but whenever M suggests her coming over she gets upset with her. (She used to come a couple times a month.) We're fairly certain it has to do with her being told she can't go on Sunday's now because of her parents' schedule. Naturally M takes all the hurt and doesn't hang onto the "how much fun we had before I asked." I'm going to ask Michelle (the mom) after this week as I know better than to want anything from her during VBS week! I guess the prayer would be for Maegann's heart to stop hurting and that God would show her if this friendship needs to change by either removing it and bringing a new friend or that Gen would share with her what is going on. Today when M asked her to come over she said G got upset. Then she said I asked her if I'd done anything to upset her and she said no. But G kept pulling back after that so I talked with M and told her just to go tell her that she didn't mean to upset her and she's sorry if she did. Then they were apart the rest of the morning because of worship. I told her she did the best she could... let her friend know she wasn't trying to be hurtful. I told M you know she said "No" about you doing something so just trust that and stop asking her over as that seems to be the breaking point right now. So hard these young relationships can be!

Benj sounds like he has all angles covered! I love how they try to outwit ya. He may not realize you've had LOTS of practice by now. I think Chaz KNOWS i'm green at this parent thing... I went up with intent on being the parent with firm hand...ended up laying on the beenbag chair. Decided all 3 of us breathing on each other with elbows digging into me wasn't going to fair too well. So I made up "storm night" special circumstances and let Liv sleep with Chaz. So far so good-its only been 5 mins!...and I think the storm is skirting around us. Fletch is still sleeping peacefully. If storm threatens, he gets in the shower stall and pants like a steam engine. Kinda weird thing to wake up to....glad I don't watch spooky movies.

I just put Benj back in bed for the second time. He fell asleep in Gary's lap around 9. Gary put him in bed and went to take a nap befor leaving for work. 9:15 Benj gets up b/c he is hungry. He ate none stop til 10 and I have been fighting him ever since. I just threatened to turn the hall light off if he didn't stop talking. WOW he is a handful! He says that light is shining on Johnnys side anyway. I reply well I can see your head so you have light too. He layed down and said you can't see it now! I could be angry but for some reason I find it funny. I just walked away. Gary just left so all should calm down soon

Pleeeezze, just alittle loooonger. I'm winning BIG! ooohhhh, but I love flowers. Learned my lesson in Netherlands, NO picking, I promise....are my fingers crossed???
I love my kids--they are trying my patience, Livy is standing at the top of the steps telling me she wants to tell me something , for the upteenth time!!! Been an hour now! I'm tired....Now she is saying "mommy, I'm not happy". I'm trying NOT to engage. ---here she comes, holding her ears(only faint thunder in far distance)- the dog isn't even woke up by it! She has to pee for the 4th time,,now Chaz is coming down to check on his sister. Amazing how concerned he is when its bedtime, or WAY past.... I hate to yell and be the meanie, but I guess its time to be firm. I love to hold them and talk at nighttime, but each night it streches on longer. With School coming up I need to get them in bed earlier, not later. How am i ever going to do the schedule thing? aaahhh. Tim is watching Ice truckers oblivious to all!

Kelly~Good for you on the QuickFire! Guess I better look at tomorrow's and see what it is! For living in a desert area it is surprising how much I mow! Once a week until closer to mid-August. It will be slowing down soon. May not mow tomorrow as the heat is staying at 100 so the low won't be much in the morning. Will wait a day or two for 60's in the morning instead and this week...I can! I have time to make choices! LOL Ugh on the hawk with the rodent. I don't particularly care for the rodeo stuff, but it was sure fun at church being cowboys and cowgirls today! LOL

Christina~What a wonderful talk with your son. That adoption stuff can get so tricky and as we tell Isaac at times "God puts us where we are supposed to be." I can't imagine with his autism and food allergies what his life would have been elsewhere! God knows what He's doing!

This coming weekend is the County Fair so we plan to go on Sunday afternoon for our family day. They open the kids carnival area earlier on Sunday as well so we will go right after lunch and head over for a couple of hours. Hopefully it won't be quite so hot!

Finland tomorrow... I know Kelly... we'll drag you out of the casino! Anyway...we're off to visit the beautiful Helsinki University Botanical Gardens.

See Christina. you are so good at making your time count! What a blessing you are to the boys. Way to go on getting in some exercise!
I finally walked. It was only 86, figure I will burn extra cals in the heat. And being on high snake alert has to count for something! So while I'm honed in watching every square inch of the road, a hawk swooped at my head, holding a rodent in it's talons. Glad I didn't faint, or he may have traded the rat for a full buffet- ME! I hate that feeling of heart stopping surprise/shock. I'm not a super jumpy one, but that was wild!
I did tomorrows Quick fires today. I gotta start paying closer attention. At least I know what to do for tomorrow! Think I am going to like it! --always gungho at first!!!

Ok the Jenifer A movie was Stupid. but I got 40 mins of the elliptical in while I watched it. one of my boys was having a low moment missing bio family so I spent over an hour of mom time counciling/listening. Being 13 is so hard and having having to deal with being "abandoned" isn't helping. I am so BLESSED to be their momma! I reminded him that he was our CHOSEN child and retold his adoption story of how he came to us. HEHE I thought I had the afternoon off!

Janet I love that your dad gets out like that!

I have never been to a rodeo. They sound exciting.

Hi Janet, glad to see you today. Getting worried... LOL about you dad. That is so neat. And he is the sober one getting taken home... life as an elder. Needing a DD for a coke! I bet it does him wonders. Stampede??? Rodeo? sounds fun. I LOVE rodeos. We don't have big ones here except Bull ride Mania at the Farmshow in Harrisburg. ANd sometimes PBR finals there. think the liability got too high or something. We have 4H horse shows with barrel racing. I love the bulls and broncs! Went to one in Dillon Mt. years ago. I can't believe you are mowing. Our grass is like desert sand. thinking God holds the rain so we can enjoy summer without spending all our time mowing--come on, I'm trying hard to find the silverlining again. Its actually getting dark maybe some rain coming---PLeeese God.
