if anything, i have heard that eating after exercise is very important. overall, i think it really is calories in versus calories out so it doesn't matter. do what works best for you - some exercise is better than no exercise. now i need to take my own advice!

I run before I eat dinner. I don't see that it matters though. I eat all day and want to work off what I ate the whole day, so working out before super is good for me. Then I can have a healthy and appetising meal and feel good that I'm making a healthy choice after a workout. Some say working out in the AM is good but I find it tiring.

I always workout before I eat. I can't work out on a full stomach. Plus, your metabolism will be super charged from the work out.

I work 7:30-4:30 so when I get home, I ride my stationary bike for 30 minutes and then we fix dinner a little later. Sometimes, I have a little snack before hand, but most times afterwards. it is all about the total calories for the day. I know some peopole subscribe to the don't eat after a certain time, but really as long as you don't go over your calories fo rthe day and you aren't eating half your calories for dinner, then you aren't doing any harm eating later. Work out when you can, get it done and then worry about eating.

1 bite at a time = 1 choice at a time.

I aleays eat after I exercise. I can't eat much before hand, or I'll get sick during karate.

I do find that after a hard workout, I'm not as hungry, and what I want is something lite. Pizza or a cheeseburger isn't going to cut it. I find that makes eating dinner after my workout even more beneficial.

I work out before I go to work I'm at the gym at 2am then I take a shower and eat breakfast. I leave for work at 5am and I have found if I do this I will not get tempted to eat things at work because I don't want screw up since I got up so early to work out.

I have found I need to eat after I exercise. It keeps my metabolism in high gear. It also keeps me from eating everything in site later that day, or the next day.

I usually eat after I exercise because I work an early shift too and if I don't exercise as soon as I get home, I just won't do it. And I have to say, I think it helps me eat less in the evenings. I'm a stress eater so I have a tendency to crave snacks and carbs when I get home from work. I usually get a fiber one bar or celery and peanut butter before I work out but then I'm hot and sweaty after I work out so I don't usually feel like eating a big dinner or something sweet anymore!

It's true, you can eat after your workout and you won't be un-doing anything. If you feel like you need to eat something before you work out, either to ease your mind or because you're finding yourself hungry while working out, have a small snack before you go. I generally have a piece of fruit, a granola bar, or a couple Laughing Cow Babybel Cheese rounds before heading to the gym right after work.

Most of us have trouble with change. But your sister's idea may work. Give it a try for 2 weeks, and if it does not work, you can always go back to the old system. (My guess is that it will work)

It is calories in versus calories out. It does not matter what time you eat. The only thing that eating late affects is possibly indigestion if you go to bed on a full stomach.

Look at it this way...you will burn your calories off from your dinner because your metabolism is now up from the exercise. That is an old wives tale too but maybe that will make you feel better.

For me, I have to eat in the morning before doing anything otherwise I feel sick. In the evening, lately I have been exercising first before I eat because I am just not hungry, but I don't feel sick. Who knows? I think are bodies are all different and you should listen to them. Don't know what to tell you! Sorry!

My lil sister wants to start exercising @ 5pm - 6pm (I work 6am to 4:30 pm)than eat between 6 & 7 Im not use to that I have stuck in my brain that if I do that than I will not lose because Im eating after exercising... Im sure it's not true but my brain won't comprehend that. I do not like the idea of exercing first. She keeps telling me it's no different than a person who exercises in the morning which makes sense & is true cause I use to be a morning exerciser many years ago but since I have been doing the eat before 7 than exercise hr later I feel that is what we should be doing. Help me decide ..... I know it's silly but brain's think funny & mine is right now ! Lol
