I found it too difficult last year to put up our tree even though its been 14 years now since my sons passing (15 next month). This year, for some reason, I looked forward to it. As I unpacked the boxes of ornaments I found so many treasures-they are like old friends! It made me happy to see some of the things he made. And a few Christmas theme stuffed animals he had received from various people at the hospital are also on the tree. I find that having those special things on our tree make me remember a happy time as this was his favorite holiday.

I too am thankful for my faith, friends, and family
I am thankful for finding this team (even though we all wish we were not a member)
I am most thankful for my health

We are not old until regrets start taking the place of dreams.

I am a counselor at an elementary school and been trying to get the swine flu shot but we have received only a few doses and they are giving them to the real needed so I am trying to be patient and germ free.. emoticon I am glad that you are feeling better, I have heard it is really bad.
Yesterday was Katie's 9th angel day, emoticon and I am proud to announce that I did not spend the whole day in bed. When I woke up it was snowing so the whole day turned into a crazy day around our home, yet I have found that today has been exhausting maybe from all the emotions yesterday.
emoticon
One thing that has helped me through the holidays is that the year Katie became an angel Christmas was right around the corner. I could not stop celebrating since my 13 year old was having coping issues herself and there was little communicating between us. I decided to decorate my tree with stars. I went out and purchased every star that I could find. Even purchased a star and had her name engraved on it. Well no surprise, now every year I look forward to putting up our Christmas tree, to me it is a tribute to her and a reminder that she is my shinning star in heaven emoticon

I am thankful for the 3 f's
1. My faith
2. My family
3. My friends
who have helped me get through these last nine years.

Sorry for the delay in getting our challenges posted. Swine Flu found me and quite literally took me off of my feet. If you have the opportunity to be vaccinated I HIGHLY recommend it. You don't want this flu. It's a rough one!

December is an especially difficult month for me as Sean's birthday and angel day both fall this month. With that in mind I'm going to offer a two-prong challenge -

1 - List 3 daily grattitudes here or on your blog

2 - Share at least one idea of something that has helped you personally as you move through the holidays with your angel nearby.

Looking forward to hearing from you...
