My goals are to:
1. lose 25 pounds
2. Exercise 5 times a week...even when I am busy.
3. Write down all my food. I usually track until dinner and then I eat lots of small snacks until I go to bed.
4. So no more mindless, untracked food.
5. Complete the 28 day bootcamp
6. Ultimate goal: Finish a 5k. I downloaded a program on my iphone and I am on week 2.

I gained about 56 pounds of weight, while going through nursing school, and stopped exercising like I used to (I used to run 3 miles a day and lift weights too)...I need the motivation of someone to be accountable to, and also someone to partner with in the pursuit of health...can't wait to see what happens...

This year, I'm all about find balance. I'm usually an all or nothing kind of person. Once I mess up, I figure I might as well give up. I don't want to be like that anymore. I entered a challenge with another SparkTeam last year and did really well. Checking in and being held accountable help my to stay with it even when I slipped. So I'm back for more.

For my goals, I would like to lose 5 lbs. (or more more), and keep a food journal (something I've not been good at) for the whole challenge.

I'm SO glad to see this challenge for January! I did this one last year and lost 6 lbs and 11.5 inches. I've been fluctuating within the same few pounds since then. My goals this time are:

1. Get back in the routine of daily exercise
2. Get back in the routine of accountability through posting on SparkPeople
3. Lose at least 4 pounds
4. Lose at least 6 inches of total body mass

I would be thrilled to do half as well as last time!

I want to get in better shape so I have more energy and to get rid of the heartburn after every meal. I will need the energy to deal with a class of 22 4th graders. I also have a teenage son at home.

My goal for this challenge is to build a consistent exercise program for the new year. I would like to get into the habit of doing cardio 4-5 days each week, 60 minutes of yoga once a week and to incorporate strength training into my routine. I also need to be more consistent in tracking my food & saying no to lunches out.

I want to stop the ten pound yo yo that I have been on since 2006. I want to actually see downward progress.

To do this I will:

Workout 5 times a week ( either Wii Fit/ 24 hour fitness/ classes/video)
remove foods that make me feel like crap
Read Feeding the Hungry Heart again and remind myself that if I am eating to fill a void, I would do better journaling.
Belive in myself!
Drink 8 glasses of water
Remind myself that I am worth it
Not give up

In these 28 days I hope to remove the weight I gained over the holidays, and bring me down to where I was rigbht before them. That would be about an 8 lb goal.

My goals are to continue making the changes that are needed to improve my health and my mind. Since starting SP in Aug. I have been able to ditch my cholesterol meds and my anti depressants. It amazes me every day what a little exercise and good food can do for both your body and your mind. So my new goals are to kick start my weight loss again (I have been at a plateau for about 1 month now) and to drop my cholesterol level again when I get tested in 3 more months. Continue exercising and start bumping it up a notch with my strength training and hopefully build up to do a half marathon this year.

I started this challenge to start the new year off right. The holiday season got away from me a bit (thank god I gained no weight though!) and I am ready to get back into it. This challenge will help me. It will also help me lose 10 pounds this month.

I have recently gone from 221lbs to 177 lbs, and I am very proud of myself for doing that much! My ultimate goal is to be between 150-160. My partner and I are going to do this together and I believe that we can motivate each other in a positive way to help accomplish our goals. So goals:
1. Eat less
2. Move more

pretty simple. huh? I'm a simple kinda girl!

I had lost 40 pounds last year and got off track and gained most of it back.
My goal this year is to make the time for myself that I need to establish a healthy lifestyle with exercise and healthy eating again.
My goal for this program is to get back to exercising every day like I used to and making it a habit again.
I would love to take off at least 8 pounds by the end of this bootcamp and get some energy back.

My overall goal is to get fit, healthy and in shape. That being said, I'm at 249lbs and really need to lose about 100 lbs. But my 1st goal is to get under 200lbs. I'm going to push hard this year at finally reaching that goal!

My challenge goals:
1. Follow the challenge plan (videos, 30 minutes of aerobic exercise daily)
2. Record my food and water intake daily
3. Weigh and record weight weekly
4. Measurements monthly
5. Plan my menus or use Spark menus. Follow them.
6. Shop with a list, and ONLY buy what's on it.
7. No samples at Costco!!
8. Make this a huge priority in my life.

2010 was a rocky year, with illnesses & surgeries for me and terrible life-altering illnesses and deaths of dear friends and family. Today's my birthday. On 1/1/11, seems like an auspicious day for a new start--even at age 64! More important than ever to focus on my own health and well-being. And, away we go!!

Hi, I'm Ligia, or Lee, and I have gained 10 lbs in the last year or so. My clothes is tight and I don't like what i see. I had started working out again right before Thanksgiving and then broke my toe. I am barely getting into shoes now. I will try my best to complete the challenge but I hope it is motivation I need.

I also would like to take on a healthy mindset this year. I have lost 60 pounds through other dieting plans, but have lost the groove. I am setting my goal to get back on track!

Hi, my name is Sean. I used to be pretty good about working out, and had myself in a shape that I was pretty happy with. I have, over the past few years, gotten lazy about working out, and have gained a ton of weight. Basically, I am making the decision to get my clothes to fit again instead of buying new ones!

I have a Wii, so I got the Wii Fit to make my ease back into workout mode a little more fun, but I am thinking this challenge will be right up my alley. :-)

I am joining this group to add more motivation. This past year has been pretty good as far as my overall shape is concerned. My hope is to not plateau, but to keep the downward spin going (losing weight, that is)

Goals -

Get rid of 30 pounds
10 pounds gone - Buy a bikini - DONE!
20 pounds gone - Buy slinky cocktail dress
30 pounds gone - Buy size 4 pants

Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting, "Wow, What a Ride!!!"

I am coming back from an injury, and want something that will help me be consistent. Also, I've done these boot camps before, and love the energy that Coach Nicole brings into the videos. I'm smiling all the way through them.

I also am encouraging others to join me, who have never done strength training before. Ten minutes a day is a great start.

I really want to approach this year with a more healthy mindset. I want to improve my physical health and that of my family. I would also like to start losing the weight I gained from my pregnancy, almost three years ago, so I will be healthy when I am ready to have another child.

You can make it a great day or not. The choice is yours.

I lost 30 pounds the when I first joined. I have plateau'd in the 150's and think I would really like to be down another 10-15lbs. I excercise regularly but apparently have been sneaking too many sweets as the scale is slowly rising. Time to get back on track!

If we don't change the direction we are headed, we will end up where we are going.

1. 19, 148 cardio fitness minutes which breaks down to 400 minutes a week or roughly 65 minutes 6 days a week

2. Strength training exercises: 3-5 x week

3. Exercising the muscle called the platysma for getting rid of a double chin.

To exercise this muscle, open your mouth wide, pull your bottom lip over your bottom teeth, and then work your jaw up and down as if you were trying to scoop something up with your lower jaw. This is called the shovel, and you look like a moron doing it, but eventually you’ll start to notice a difference if you stick to a daily routine.

4. Lose 1# a month with a 12# loss for the year bringing my weight to: 126#’s

5. Focus on good health: eating mindfully, healthfully, and moderately in 2011

6. Read 1 Cor. 13 daily

I recently lost 8 pounds due to helping my son follow his fitness program through the hospital. I feel like i have gained sojme back over the holidays because of all the goodies laying around and i am so busy handling the wrestling team that my children are on. They are both doing well and I want to continue to lose weight until I am at a healthy BMI.

I joined SP a few months ago but have only lost 12 pounds. I track my food, drink my water, and walk almost daily but feel like I could be doing better. My goal is to stick with this 28 day challenge and get myself in better condition, hopefully losing more weight along the way.

Keep walking forward, no matter how slowly.
