2Chubby2day - actually the two posting thing may be a good idea - one to just chat about things and one to report the actual results for the day or week.........we did this in another team and I really like learning know about my teammates. Monday = 45 min. within calorie range = 47 miles
Tuesday = 0 min. - did not stay in calorie range

4/17 - cardio + strength = 0, stayed in my calorie range
4/18 - cardio + strength = 88 min. and stayed within calorie range
4/19 - cardio + strength = 50 min. and stayed within cal. range
4/20 - cardio + strength = 0 min. and stayed within cal. range
4/21 - cardio + strength = 50 Min. and stayed in cal. range
4/22 - cardio + strength = 50 Min. and did not stay in cal. range
4/23 - cardio + strength = 40 min. and stayed in cal. range
Weight - Maintained and its no wonder with the way I exercised this week. I'm lucky to have stayed the same!
Total miles = 290 for exercise and and calorie range. Nothing for weight.

Ok everyone - first off I don't know what happened to my post the other night! I had everything tallied up and it went poof! I think I did it on Tuesday night and they do maintenance on Tuesday nights so I may have ended up in the maintenance pile.

Here's what we are going to do. Team 1 has kind of poofed. So we are going to combine teams - there will no longer be the two teams. Instead we are going to unite and be one strong and healthy team.

We are going to keep the guidelines and keep on a trail.

Now here's the bad thing - because I'm so far behind in calculating we are going to start from scratch today on the Lewis and Clark Trail.

For those of you that have been posting and do a fantastic job you have inspired me to get back on track. I've been having to do some on-line classes for work and those are all done and I'm back to being involved. I am so sorry that I've been absent the last couple of weeks!

I'm setting up one posting area so we can all share. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thank you for your patience and being understanding!

Hi y'all!

Sorry I've been absent - just been logging on to get my points so need to get my trackers all up to date then will post the miles. Had a great weekend - the man in my life was here for the weekend - he lives in Texas and I live in Nebraska and we've not been able to get our schedules worked out for awhile so I spent the last few days with him. So now I'm playing catch up.

Hope everyone is doing great! I will get back on the wagon here cuz I feel so far behind! Plus we ate way too much this weekend and spent a lot of time just sitting and doing a lot of nothing.

I'm planning on being home from work early tomorrow night so I will do my best to get things all caught up by then.

Hi all! I ate well this week, did all my strength training and cardio. However my weight is up 1 pound. I do not sleep well so I joined the Official Sleep Better Challenge team.
Monday - 60 minutes, stayed in calorie range
Tuesday - 130 minutes, stayed in calorie range
Wednesday - 105 minutes, stayed in calorie range
Thursday - 35, stayed in calorie range
Friday - 115 minutes, stayed in calorie range
Saturday - tbd
445 + 10 - 5 (gained a pound) = 450 miles

I was in the hospital Thur/Fri so my weight jumped due to all the meds and sodium-drip they had me on! I wanted to cry when I got on the scale on Saturday!! I know that my weight-gain was due to the meds and such because I was on a clear-liquid diet while in the hospital... my weight was coming down just before I went in!!!

I'm hoping to be 288-289 by this Friday...

Debbie, I am also a history buff and the Lewis and Clark Expedition is one of my favorite stories. I was thrilled when we visited a friend in Montana and he took us to a site where the expedition camped. I think my family thought I went a little overboard with my enthusiasm! But to walk where they walked.......blew me away!
Thanks for all you do - it helps!

4/3 - did nothing but stayed in my calorie range
4/4 - cardio + strength = 50 min. and stayed within calorie range
4/5 - cardio + strength = 70 min. and stayed within cal. range
4/6 - no cardio + strength = 10 min. and stayed within cal. range
4/7 - 60 cardio + no strength = 60 Min. and stayed in range
4/8 - 90 cardio + 20 strength = 110 Min. and stayed in cal. range
4/9 - 70 cardio + 15 strength = 85 min. and stayed in cal. range
As for weight loss, not so hot. I did lose a half a pound. I think I may have to lower my calorie range. Right now it's maximum is 1100 and I'm thinking about going to 1000.
Total miles = 401.5

Hi y'all. We are tracking Sunday to Saturday but if someone does something different I'm sure I can figure it out - sooner or later and the way things have been here - it's later! We have had high winds all week and it's playing havoc with my internet. I keep having to reset the modem.

As of week ending 4/2 - we started out that week with 513 miles left on the trail - far as I can tell the total miles were 1679! How great you all are doing! So we have finished the Appalachian trail and have started on the Lewis and Clark Trail. From what I've read on it there's different lengths and we are going to do the driving trail which is a total of 4978 miles.

The trail starts out in Philadelphia. I'm a big U.S. History buff and think I was born in the wrong century. LOL course if I were born in the right century I'd be dead by now but I think the establishment of the U.S. and the territories out west is just amazing.

So we start in Philadelphia 4978 miles to go. Thanks to your efforts through 4/2 we have already traveled 1166 miles! So we've already gone through Gettysburg, Pittsburgh, PA. We've gone through Cincinnati, Ohio, cut into a bit of Indiana, went through Louisville, Kentucky. The trail took us back up to Indiana, then a bit back down into Kentucky - Paducah to be exact. From there we traveled up to Illinois and over to St Louis, Missouri. We've passed the arch in St Louis and are camping just outside of Kansas City!!

I will be back tomorrow to update where we ended up after today. There's a lot of northern travel that will be coming up! It's still kind of cool up there - make sure you have a jacket packed!

Sunday - cardio = 60 minutes - stayed in calorie range
Monday - strength training + cardio = 116 minutes - stayed in calorie range
Tuesday - cardio = 60 minutes - stayed in calorie range
Wednesday - strength training + cardio = 95 minutes - stayed in calorie range
Thursday - was going to run, but had to do laundry first and then it rained - stayed in calorie range
Friday - strength training and cardio = 105 minutes - stayed in calorie range
Saturday - ran for 50 minutes - stayed in calorie range
no weight change
486 + 14 = 500 total miles

I will be in later tonight to get miles and stuff totaled up. I am so sorry I've not been on much. I don't know what's going on with my internet - it seems to go down a lot the last few days so I have a technician coming out on Saturday to give me a new modem and see if he can figure out the problem.

Hope everyone is doing great! I have to get us on our new trail - the Lewis and Clark trail! The way you guys are going we're probably almost done with that trail too!

Sunday - 45 min wog - stayed within calorie range
Monday - 50 min on elliptical - stayed within calorie range
Tuesday - no miles and went over calories
Wednesday - 55 min. wog - stayed within calorie range
Thursday - 60 min strength training -50 min. treadmill - stayed within calorie range
Friday - 50 minutes strength training - 30 minutes on elliptical stayed within calorie range
Saturday - 0 minutes fitness, and over calorie range
Weight - 1 lb. weight gain. Argh!!!

Total - 340 fitness minutes - 5 miles + 10 miles for calorie range compliance = 345 miles
I am getting frustrated. I am basically staying on plan and exercising way more than I used to and the scale keeps going up. I do know that what the scale says isn't necessarily indicative of my progress, but its disconcerting nonetheless. I will persevere and not be discouraged (too much).

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I've been absent (minded) this week. Work has been a bit of a challenge and having to do longer hours due to another management person being on vacation so I have to do double duty. Then for some reason I just didn't feel like being on the computer when I got home.

I will get caught up later tonight because we've done finished the Apalachian trail - I have to total our miles and compare it to Team 1. But as of last Sunday we were ahead of them by about 300 miles I believe.

So now I've found us a new trail "The Lewis and Clark Trail". I can't believe how fast we traveled the other one - we went so fast I didn't have time to see the sites!

It's a happy, sunny day here so I'm going back out to do yard work. I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend and getting to spend time with someone you love.

Thurs. 3/31
stayed in calorie range. walked 50 minutes and lifted weights for 20 minutes.
Friday 4/1 - Weighed in and I lost 2 pounds!!!! That made me very happy because I had been maintaining for about a month now. Tonight I walked 50 minutes and did 15 min. of strength exercises. I stayed in my calorie range as well.

Hi everyone!

I'm really happy to see a lot of posting and involvement going on. I know there's only about 4 posting very much and I'm going to go round up the rest of them that signed up and see what's going on.

I forgot my mileage maps at work so I can't pinpoint exactly where we are on the trail - but I'll bring them home tomorrow night. My printer doesn't work at home - new cartidge and it just spits out blanks.

We have a total of 1549 total miles already! I thought it'd take us forever to go on this trail but you all are rocking this trail! We're gonna get done on this one and be on another trail in a week.

We had 2062 miles at the start and after taking off the 1549 we have only 513 left!

When I set up this trail I figured it would take about 6 or 7 weeks - I had no idea you all were such workout fiends! Way to go!

Don't feel badly about that weight gain. I have lost nothing and it seemed as though I had a pretty good week. Next week I'm going to do some interval training in my walks and see what happens. (as long as I eat right!)
Fri. 40 min. cardio, 20 minutes strength training with weights - no weight gain or loss.

Saturday March 26, 2011 - What happens if you gain some weight with respect to our hike? Do we go backwards? If so, I apologize to Team 2. I don't know what's happening with my body, but its not cooperating. I feel good though and had a great workout yesterday. Today, I plan to either spend some time on the elliptical or go for a wog if it stops raining long enough. More later. emoticon

Anne, At least you got your paper done and you don't have to worry about it now! I'm sorry you had such a stressfull day, but it was great to see that you "worked-out" your stress by "wogging" (cute word, btw)! I just started Walk/Jogging ~ but I mostly walk!

I'm trying to do the Spark Into 5k, but I seem to be "stuck" at week 3! It's everything in me to complete the 3min Walk & 2min Jog... it's going to take me a lot longer than 5 weeks! Instead of getting upset with myself I keep reminding myself that I've come a long way... I started off getting winded at just walking my small cul-de-sac for 10 minutes & now I can walk the "long route" through the neighborhood! A side note... I walk/jog indoors either on the tredmill or on the Wii... I have too many outdoor allergies to attempt jogging out doors right now (I also know that the heat and humidity will make it harder on me). Eventually I will get to move-on to week 4 (walk 2 & jog 2.5) and then onto my final week (walk 3 & jog 3)! I've set my "Race Day" for Friday, April 29th ~ I know this is 5 weeks away, but that will allow me to take the time I need to truly work-up to being able to sustain this habit. Besides, it's taken me 2 weeks at week 3... I don't know how long it will take me to be ready to move from week 4 to week 5... and then I might be at week 5 for a while before I'm ready to actually "race"! I'm trying to make walk/jogging a part of my healthy habits, not just a one time thing... and I know that slow & steady works best for me.

Hey everyone! I'm still here and will get caught up tomorrow more. Last night the internet was down and tonight my stomach is revolting over the milk I had at work this evening. Sometimes milk doesn't bother me and other times it plays havoc on my stomach.

I have miles and stuff to post - I did pretty good the last couple of days miles wise. Missed the calorie count on Monday by 20! And yesterday - well - add a zero to that.

Hope you all are doing good! Will update miles and the stuff and post some facts for our journey.

Yesterday, I had a melt down. I was taking care of my two granddaughters yesterday and I had a 6-page paper due in Physics today and a presentation to put together for English. I had no time to exercise and I was STRESSED OUT! So, I turned to food for comfort. Consequently, I went over my calorie limit and didn't exercise. Sorry team! emoticon

The funny thing is when I got to class the instructor gave us until Friday to turn in our papers. Argh! My classmates didn't stay up to the wee hours finishing their papers and some skipped class too! Thanks for letting me vent.

Today, I will go wogging for 3 miles and will feel better. emoticon

I'll come in later and update our mileage. My mind is kind of mush right now.

Today I did 15 minutes elliptical (I can't seem to stay on it longer than this), 50 minutes walking, 15 minute dancing video, 10 minutes Boot Camp video on Spark People. I did some strength training but am not going to count it because I squeeze it in at work when I have a minute or two.

So 75 minutes from me today. LOL I may have hit my peak!

Sunday I spent several hours pulling weeds/gardening (about an hour), blowing & picking up piles of leaves/pine needles (about an hour) AND setting-up our above ground pool (over an hour)... but I'm only going to claim 60 minutes!

I made sure to put on sunscreen before we started, but forgot to re-apply and today I am radiating heat from my 2nd degree burn! I know I am suppose to re-apply ever few hours, but it was over-cast with a soft breeze so I completely forgot... definately paying the price today! I still have mulching and fertilizing to finish today, but I'm waiting 'til the sun goes down!

I think I'm suffering from over-exertion & heat-exhaustion today!!!

Sorry team, I was at our son's in VA over the weekend. We had a 5 1/2 hour drive yesterday. I didn't help much as a team member but I did take a short walk when we walked their dog! I walked for 30 minutes. Didn't stay under my range for calories. Again, I am so sorry but will make it up. We were celebrating our son's engagement with his fiancees folks. Champagne and all, ya know!

I did 65 minutes of cardio today. Caloric range - not so good - friend and I went to Outback - dang those garlic mashed potatoes and that rye bread. I don't eat a lot of bread but I love their rye bread loaves.

So far for our team:

Starting point in Georgia - 2174 miles. Annewlouis did 45 minutes today for 45 miles of credit plus 2 more miles for staying below her max calorie range. And I did 65 minutes so reported today a total of 112 miles.

2174 miles -112 = 2062 - we are already in North Carolina!

I clocked 45 minutes for cardio today. I stayed under my maximum limit for caloric intake. This hasn't been hard for me. The challenge for me is to make the minimum caloric intake. Sorry if this sounds obnoxious. You can blame my trainer. She gave me a plan for workout days/nonworkout days and the ranges are such that the calories work out to be around 1200 calories per day and my range is 1200 - 1550 calories per day. emoticon
