I've gone complacent on ma smoothies! Always spinach or baby kale mix, banana, blueberries and almond milk or pomegranate juice (but too sweet now). I used to do baby greens and Dole's frozen fruit with peaches, mango, pineapple etc, but that got too sweet for me too. I have to do a wider variety of greens! Maybe try that celery thing, even though it sounds scary. Or I'll do cabbage, banana and cherries tomorrow? This is making me hungry!

That sounds great, TERRY0217!! I've been a bit lax with my smoothies lately. Tho I have been putting in a zucchini or some celery in the last ones. I'll have to get back to making them.

I juice carrots and celery then use that juice in the vita mix with spinach or kale, frozen blueberries, a bit of flax . . . whatever I have that is looking good!

Broccoli, endives, blueberries and pear. Delicious.

Made the same one yesterday but with celery instead of endives. That tasted great, too.

Just had a smoothie for lunch.

Lots of baby spinach (1/3rd of the cup?)
Fill to max with a bagged frozen mix of strawberries, bananas and peaches
Enough choc almond milk to make to thin enough to drink.

Yum!

Today I put endives into my smoothie, with pineapple and apple and grated coconut. Very good.

I am wondering if I could put bok choy into a green smoothie...

This morning I had run out of leafy greens so I tried an experiment:

- very little endives
- 1/3 of a large cucumber
- 3 stalks of celery
- 1/2 cup of defrosted cherries
- 1 apple
- water and one tablespoon of chia seeds.

It tastes great!

Today I had: cucumber, round lettuce leaves, celery, banana, blueberries, strawberries, chia seeds, coconut milk, 2 tbs oat bran, chai spice and a few ice cubes. (have a mug left for tonight).

I have never tried any vegetables other than the leafy greens. I think I have tried every fruit I can get my hands on. I am intrigued, will have to try broccoli and see how it works out.

I have ever tried broccoli. I like the idea of broccoli slaw.

My smoothies are usually:

75 grams greens: baby spinach, kale, or chard and sometimes a little parsley (it has a strong flavor but good for you)
1 banana: frozen or fresh. Sometimes only 1/2 if frozen.
Berries: typically strawberries or raspberries- fresh or frozen sometimes blueberries but I don't find they add anything to the taste. Recently I started adding frozen cranberries and that was great. I mix the berries too.
1 TBSP flax
For liquid, I mostly use water but sometimes add 1/2 cup coconut milk (unsweetened).

I make it in the big Nutribullet cup which is perfect for breakfast.

In the States raw broccoli is very common in salads and vegetable dip trays. When I buy a bag of broccoli slaw ( raw matchstick-cut broccoli, carrots, zucchini) and don't have plans to use it all, it goes into my smoothie. Also I get a sweet kale salad mix at COSTCO which includes shredded cabbage and broccoli and will go into the smoothie. These thing contribute to the "greens" part of the smoothie along with the usual baby greens and spinach mix.. There is also a fruit portion, usually banana, apple, and berries and also a "seeds" portion, usually ground flax. I think I will be trying chia seeds soon.
I use water for the liquid.

What are you putting into your green smoothie?

Just heard about using raw broccoli in a smoothie... Hmmm... Have you tried that?

What are you putting in your green smoothie today?
