I agree and also start out small like 10 minutes or less and then work up to the minutes that will get you on the way to being healthy

Dorothy

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

Hi and welcome!

Exercise can be tricky sometimes. At one point I was doing a lot of exercise, lifting weights, walking a lot...I hurt my body and ended up having rotator cuff surgery...my doc told me that exercise with hard jarring movements and lifting weights was not good for me. I mostly do walking, taichi, anything gentle is best. Swimming or exercise in water is the best as it provides resistance but doesn't hurt the joints.

I would start with walking as that can be gentle and will build up your strength. If you can't walk outside there are DVD's by Leslie Sansone...walking in your home programs that are very good. If you can afford to join the YMCA or any other place that may have swimming classes for exercise, that is a another place to start. A stationary bike is also good as you can control how fast and how long.

Hope this helps!
Cathy

Hi Autumnmdove

Hope I got the name right. If not please let me know.

I have the same problem. Have had lupus for 3 years now and there are days I cannot excerise. Some days are good and some are not so good. Do believe that is how it goes. I know I have not been much help but to let you know you are not alone. Hope I have helped somewhat. Real good to meet you. My name is Deni. Will speak again.

I was diagnosed with Lupus back in November of 2012. I recently got the clear from my Doctor to exercise. I don't always have chronic pain days, I get breaks every now and again. I have made sure to avoid gluten, soy, sodium and caffeine, as this helps me to have less flares. However, I find it difficult to exercise and I have no idea where to start. I want to exercise to lose more weight, but don't know what I should start off with. Anyone have any suggestions for me?
