So I found out that I am a sugar fiend. I love sugary foods and added sugar. So I think for me I will start cutting back sugar by eating more fruits. I want to try and eat at least 3 fruits in the place of my sugary staples ie cookies, sugary coffee and pastries.
good luck everyone!

My problem is I never thought or cared about the food I've been eating since high school. Now when I make concious decisions...its not so hard to say no. I'm only on day 2 and I'm sure there are going to be tough choices to make. I'm thankful I have a team fore motivation and accountibility

Its kind of fun to do the impossible

So I ate a small toll house cookie this morning and I feel guilty about it because I want to do better and lose weight. craving sweets isn't doing me any favors XD. Thinking about finding replacement goodies to distract myself with but I don't know what that would be.

Hello, Day 1 today. I am horrible at sweets. I ate a whole bag of candy this weekend. I wish I could get this under control. I am hoping this will help. I want to learn to eat them in moderation. Today at the office people brought in cookies and I ate 4. Other people had just one and were done. I wish I could be like that. Soon I hope to be.

My husband was raised with desert after dinner whereas I was not; I was raised on fruit as sweets, basically, so I'm in pretty good shape. I can take or leave his cakes, cookies, etc. unless there's nothing else to snack on or I'm "bored".

What I want to do with this challenge; I buy us lots of candy, have a large candy bowl and I can overdo it big time on candy (milk chocolate but I'm lactose sensitive so that can cause all sorts of problems!) and so I want to not eat any candy this week. I have chronic inflammation issues and want to see if not eating any candy this week will help how I feel and the state of my aches and pains.

Day 6 and I haven't thought about sugary snacks until I looked at this message board. I can't believe how much better I feel without all of the sugar in me. This is the longest I've ever gone without sweets. What a great day!

Day one and I realized although I crave sugar- pretty much continually- when I indulge, I am left feeling completely, absolutely, undeniably unsatisfied- which just leads to more cravings! What is up with that?!

working on day 3

I have candy in bowls .cookies are laying around in tins .
I walk by them , I tell myself they are not worth it. I know I will be going to parties
company & friends. Even in the Stores all the goodies are out.
so I decided tostart in my home .

I too also . eat & binge on sugar .Mine is night only. so If i get a craving
I go to my room & watch tv. turn off the lights . something about turning down or lights off
helps the urge leave God Bless

Honestly, before I got to this weight, I had not thought much about how much sugar I was putting into my system. One day at work I got so dizzy that I could not stand up. I know that I am pre-diabetic as so many signs have been flashing at me up to this point. I need to be more aware of what I am putting into my body and how it is affecting ME. Everyone is different and I did not have this issue before, but such is my weight issue. I figured this would be a good place to start.

I haven't started yet, but I'm just wanting to be in control of the sugar, not the other way around. I want to learn some self control when it's around.

I want to be able to more quickly look at the nutritional labels on food and determine how much sugar I'm getting. 4 grams equals 1 teaspoon? I'm getting to know the many labels that sugar can hide under and I eat more fresh from scratch food than processed... but maybe this challenge will help me unearth the reason I CRAVE sweets and help me tame that.

Hi! I am joining this group because I went from eating a few cookies to eating a whole bag in 2 days. My sugar cravings are out of control and I am ashamed of the fact that I can lose weight without eating sugar. I lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks after avoiding sugar. I am determined to beat the weight loss game. Dont judge me because this is the lifestyle I set up for myself. Unfortunately it is not a healthy lifestyle. I cannot bring sweets home because they are a pure distraction to me. However, fruit is just not cutting the cravings. I am ready to start today.

I am really struggling to keep control of my sugar eating. I do well all day and at night I eat my way through the kitchen trying to avoid the sugar and then I eat it anyway. Today was bad and I had a bunch of sugar. Yikes. This is hard.

I want to get my sugar under control so that I can lose weight, have more energy and be healthier.

Well, what do you know, my sugar cravings are out of control! No shocker there ... that's why I'm HERE ;) I have actually already been monitoring my foods/sugars for awhile now so I'm going to start the cutting back already ... my goal for this challenge is to get to the point where I don't even crave sugar 'stuff' at all but my goal for this first week is to start replacing my sweet treats with fruits and yogurts :) Hopefully by Christmas I'll be at a point where I can pass up all of the goodies and stay healthy.

Even though the assessment said I don't have an issue with sugar, I think I do.....At work if there are chocs I'll eat them. And after one I can't stop. Surely thats a problem. Also I wouldn't normally buy biscuits but I buy them for my boyfriend, or he buys them and has them in the house. When I used to live on my own I never bought them.

Assess your current sugar habits: Results-your sugar cravings are out of control.

My main issue with sugar cravings drinking soda which I'd love to cut out of my life completely!

My main reasons to cut back on sugary sweets all together is;
1. I want to lose weight.
2. I want to lead a healthy lifestyle & to become healthier to prepare my body for pregnancy which my husband and I are planning on in a year or two.
3. I want to have more energy in my day to day routine.
4. I just don't want to crave sweets anymore!

I look forward to chatting with you all!

- I want to lose weight.
- find a healthier way to give my body energy
- stop my body from all the highs and lows from my sugar cravings.

I realised today after consuming a whole block of chocolate at work that my sugar cravings are getting the better of me. Time to crack out the pepermint tea and stop eating chocolates.

I have needed help getting me to eat. My IL instructor is going to help me as well. She thinks that the eating issue is that I am not maintaining the right amount and maybe even what I am eating. She is going to help me find something that can help me with calcium and to not be under or over eating. She said that it could be that my sugar level isn't quite right. The way I could drink water today was by adding brown sugar to it. My roomate noticed that I was dehydrating.

Today is day 2 of my sugar challenge. I took the assessment yesterday and was surprised that it said I had Situational issues. After thinking about it though, that sounds about right. As long as there isn't any sugar in front of me I can resist. The issue is the constant supply of candy at work and my husband's stash at home.

I think I have convinced my husband to go along with this with me as well.

I don't have any really intense cravings yet, and I'm coming up with a plan for when they do hit. Wish me luck!

I just joined this challenge after trying myself "with" failing to stay away from sweets. 2 days was no problem, the 3rd day I had one bite and was told by a friend that I would regret it. I did. Now the Dr. tells me that I'm borderline diabetic and have to watch my sugar intake so as not to become diabetic. Other than the piece of cherry cordial kiss I just had everything is going fine so far today, heres hopping and praying that wasn't another set back.

I joined this challenge even though I have finally gotten my sweet tooth under somewhat of control meaning every time I walk to store I do not come back with a candy bar or cookies. I have had a package of Oreo's in my cabinet for almost 2 weeks now and they are still unopened. I still need to work on being out and the excuse well it is a party. I also know that at night after dinner is when my sweet tooth flares up and I have to have something sweet as my last snack of the day. I also am a coffee addict with creamer and splenda. So this week is gonna be an okay week to just figure out all the triggers, how much sugar I am really eating, and when I am craving it.

Today is my first day of the challenge. I have taken the quiz and the results are:

Realized I need to cut out a good amount of sweets from my life.

--Sugar Assessment Quiz Result:
Your Sugar Cravings Are Out of Control

--List the reasons why you want to cut back.
a) Lose weight
b) To get my blood pressure back down
c) To feel better and have more energy
d) To set a better example for my family

I have found out I crave sweets first thing in the morning. Then again in the afternoon.
When I eat sweets I want them all day long. I can always tell you what sweets sound good but never what sounds good for dinner. I'm hoping that if I quit eating sweets that regular food will sound good again. I need help controlling the sugar cravings threw the holidays.

I went from one dessert type sweet (baked goods) and a couple of servings of dark chocolate a week over the summer to multiple baked goods (like four or five servings) a week now. I'm avoiding compounding the issue with extra chocolate, but with the cold weather my desire for sweet baked goods has definately increased.

Help!

Hi!

I need to get my sugar cravings under control. When I have abstained from "added" sugar - I have felt great. So I need to get myself into the habit of not indulging. I just want to feel amazing all the time.

Thanks for listening,
Malia
