Well! I'm not sure what the heck is going on! I am just sooooo off the track I want to be on! But, oh look, here comes another month to start fresh! sigh....

Weight Loss/Maintenance:
2.0% weight loss or, for those who have reached their weight loss goal, maintaining your weight.
SW: 125.9lbs
CW: 129.9lbs :(
GW: 123.4lbs

Fitness:
Cardio exercise (your choice) for minimum 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week.
Strength training of some sort at least 3 times a week.
I did get my steps in this week! Yay! Thanks to Fitbit!

Personal:
Choose a personal (non-weight/non-fitness) goal you'd like to achieve this April.
I'd like to start Spring Cleaning!!
I've been doing small amounts of cleaning like a drawer here or there. I will dive in and do it all at most probably, that's kinda how I roll. Yesterday I did baking all day for my friend, she asked me to, for bake sales for fundraisers for a couple different things. I wanted to do it before the new month starts so that it's not in my house to cause grief with my low willpower!

Motivation:
Post somewhere in Spark at least 4 times a week.
I think I've been slacking! I need to catch up on my daily challenges and I haven't been tracking food... :( I really need to!

Accountable:
Weigh in once a week and post all your goal results here. Done

Ok, let's forget this month ever happened and just go from here! :) I have 1 month til my birthday... :(

-sparkfully,
Cherie

April 27th results:

Weight Loss: 2%
SW: 205.4 lbs. CW: 197.8 lbs. GW: 201.3 lbs.
I lost 3.4 lbs this week!!! HAPPY DANCE~~~HAPPY DANCE~~~HAPPY DANCE

Fitness: Walking for minimum 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week. Strength training at least 3 times a week.
I power walked on the treadmill for 40+ minutes on Friday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. I haven't done any strength training this week.
As for my Fitbit steps: Fri=8730, Sat=4416, Sun=3106, Mon=10131, Tue=5363, Wed=10119, Thu=8029

Personal: Continue to declutter CDs and get some filing done.
I've really been MIA in this area for a few weeks. But my April calendar was pretty full, so it was hard to find time to do much. And if I had to choose between that and walking on the treadmill, I chose the treadmill.

Motivation: Post somewhere in Spark at least 4 times a week.
With logging in every day now, this has been habit, which is nice, because I feel I'm really benefiting from being so active on the site again.

Accountable: Weigh in once a week and post all my goal results here.
Done and done!

Way go to go, Suzanne!! I have company coming this weekend for a funeral so I did some "company's coming cleaning!!" I will most likely do a weigh in but post on Monday. I've been trying to track and keep up with challenges, I just don't have time today. We're having a fundraiser at my work for Humboldt so I did what I could, now I've gotta go!

Have a great weekend everyone!

I struggled a lot this week. I just didn't post, I didn't eat well, I didn't get enough sleep, and the cycle repeats! Well, I think I have gathered myself together and I will sort it all out and here I am to post and redeem myself!

Weight Loss/Maintenance:
2.0% weight loss or, for those who have reached their weight loss goal, maintaining your weight.
SW: 125.9lbs
CW: 127.7 (today, Monday April 16) up...way up :(
GW: 123.4lbs

Fitness:
Cardio exercise (your choice) for minimum 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week.
Strength training of some sort at least 3 times a week.
I've been keeping up with my steps...that's it. I haven't done a Hip Hop Abs workout...I went to Zumba on Thursday but no ST this week... :(

Personal:
Choose a personal (non-weight/non-fitness) goal you'd like to achieve this April.
I'd like to start Spring Cleaning!! I just finished a brutal set of shifts so now I've got a few days off to do some spring cleaning. I am going to do an especially troublesome cupboard in the kitchen where I tend to hid bad food... :(

Motivation:
Post somewhere in Spark at least 4 times a week.
I have even neglected my daily challenge and my Spark Daily challenge...so I'll get back at it and catch up.

Accountable:
Weigh in once a week and post all your goal results here. I will be back here on Saturday for the weekly weigh in, I'm sure it will be a better week. :)

Suzanne, you did great this week! You inspire me to keep at it! Thanks!

Weight Loss: 2%
SW: 205.4 lbs. CW: 202.2 lbs. GW: 201.3 lbs.
I lost 0.8 of a pound this week. I've never liked having to log my food, but I truly am finding that it's keeping me focused. I noticed this week that I was at the low end or below my daily calorie intake, so I might have to boost that up a bit and maybe I'll see a bigger loss next week. One can only hope.

Fitness: Walking for minimum 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week. Strength training at least 3 times a week.
I walked 3 of the days and used the recumbent bike on 1 of the days.
As for my steps: Fri=7582, Sat=3081, Sun=8833, Mon=8188, Tue=4904, Wed=8762, Thu=3991

Personal: Continue to declutter CDs and get some filing done.
I didn't work on my CDs at all this past week, but I did clean out my main closet and one of the dressers and ended up with a large bag of clothes to donate.

Motivation: Post somewhere in Spark at least 4 times a week.
Done. I'm finding this one easier because, with having to log my food every day, I'm on the site more than ever before.

So, I think I disclosed that I was able to contact a nutritionist through an employee assistance program at work. She has provided me with a lot of very helpful information to read through, as well as some hints and tips for eating healthier and being more mindful of my relationship with food. One of the documents she gave me dealt with "Mindful Eating." One point that was made really resonated with me, as I have always been an emotional eater--I would eat when I was happy, sad, angry, lonely, stressed, bored... This is what it said:

Honor Your Feelings Without Using Food
Find ways to comfort, nurture, distract, and resolve your issues without using food. Anxiety, loneliness, boredom, anger are emotions we all experience throughout life. Each has its own trigger, and each has its own appeasement. Food won’t fix any of these feelings. It may comfort for the short term, distract from the pain, or even numb you into a food hangover. But food won’t solve the problem. If anything, eating for an emotional hunger will only make you feel worse in the long run. You’ll ultimately have to deal with the source of the emotion, as well as the discomfort of overeating.

Oh my goodness! Where have I been! Well, I'm here now and I will post for last week for the monthly challenge.

My weigh in day will be Saturdays for this month's challenge.

Weight Loss/Maintenance:
2.0% weight loss or, for those who have reached their weight loss goal, maintaining your weight.
SW: 125.9lbs
CW: 125.5lbs (from Saturday April 7th)
GW: 123.4lbs

Fitness:
Cardio exercise (your choice) for minimum 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week.
Strength training of some sort at least 3 times a week.
I've been keeping up with my steps, took Sunday off, but otherwise at least 11000 steps per day. Need to get a bit more ST. Did Hip Hop Abs DVD a couple times last week.

Personal:
Choose a personal (non-weight/non-fitness) goal you'd like to achieve this April.
I'd like to start Spring Cleaning!! :) How bout 1 drawer at a time! lol Well, I've started on my room first and I've done some de-cluttering. I will continue...

Motivation:
Post somewhere in Spark at least 4 times a week.
This should not be a problem :) Yup this is happening a bit although I think I missed a few days over this past weekend. My computer is being used to do our taxes so it was not available as much.

Accountable:
Weigh in once a week and post all your goal results here. Better late than never. I'll be back Saturday but I've dipping into the carbs... :(

I was having a hard time making myself post this, but here goes -
Weight Loss/Maintenance:
2.0% weight loss or, for those who have reached their weight loss goal, maintaining your weight.
SW- 189.8
GW - 186.8
CW - 194.4 - Don't ask me how or why, but it doesn't want to come back off.

Fitness:
Cardio exercise (your choice) for minimum 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week.
Strength training of some sort at least 3 times a week.
~I am going to cut back to exercising only once a day and see if that helps anything. I think I have not been consuming enough food for the amount of calories burnt, I'm having some tummy issues and not losing any weight so I've got to try something different. If it doesn't work then I've ruled that out and can go back to working out twice a day! The tummy issues have resolved themselves by cutting back on the exercise, but I've gained weight. I miss my 2nd workout of the day. I'm just frustrated. It seems I've been hovering around this weight since Christmas and nothing seems to work. I'm not losing inches either. so frustrated, it's hard to keep plugging away and not see any results for months.

Personal:
Choose a personal (non-weight/non-fitness) goal you'd like to achieve this April.
I now have a scrapbooking and sewing area in my basement so I would like to spend some time working on those things.
I had all week while my kids were away, but I didn't really do anything this week. I've had some issues with my ex going on and am just trying to get through them. Maybe next week i'll get some sewing time.

Motivation:
Post somewhere in Spark at least 4 times a week.

April 6th results:

Weight Loss: 2%
SW: 205.4 lbs. CW: 203.0 lbs. GW: 201.3 lbs.
I lost 2.4 lbs this week and I feel great! I've gotten back to logging my food and, boy, does that make a difference. And I log everything! Even the popcorn I had at the movie Wednesday night.

Fitness: Walking for minimum 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week. Strength training at least 3 times a week.
I did over 40 minutes 2x this week (Apr 3 & 5). I didn't do any strength training this week because of my upper back and neck.
As for my steps: Sun=2232, Mon=2544, Tue=8864, Wed=6356, Thu=9528

Personal: Continue to declutter CDs and get some filing done.
This is coming along. It's going to take me a bit longer because I'm adding all my music to the database, and that includes all my digital music as well as CDs.

Motivation: Post somewhere in Spark at least 4 times a week.
Done. I'm participating in a "Calorie In Calorie Out" challenge on the Calling All Canadians Team, so I have to post every day there. I've also been trying to update my status regularly.

Accountable: Weigh in once a week and post all my goal results here.
Done and done!

I hope everyone had a successful first week of April.

Hope everyone had a great Easter, it was pretty quiet at my house, my little ones are gone with their dad to their other grandparents so it is just me and my oldest at home. Yesterday we went to moms and made her dinner. Sure was a tough weekend, my dad passed away last year on the Saturday between good Friday and Easter Sunday and even though I know the dates are different I relate it to the holiday. Hard to believe its been a year already.

Wow, Chiruken! I am am also the "baby" of the family. My oldest brother would be 19 yrs older than me, my sister is 17 yrs older. I was 3 at her wedding then when I was 12 I went to stay with her and her family for a summer to babysit my nephew and niece who were 5 and 3, I ended up staying with them for 3 years! Then went to Rivier for high school.

April 2018 Challenge

April 1, 2018

1. Weight Loss/Maintenance:
Current Weight: 224.0lbs
2% = 4.5lbs
Short-Term Goal Weight: 219.5lbs
Mid-Term Goal Weight: 214lbs (by May 1, I hope! lol)
Long-Term Goal Weight: 120lbs (only 104lbs to go!)

2. Fitness:
A) Cardio exercise (your choice) for minimum 30 minutes a day, at least 4 times a week.
This Challenge will be a bit of a challenge (no pun intended lol) until after my doctor’s appointment on the 18th, but I’ll do my best.
B) Strength training of some sort at least 3 times a week.
This Challenge should be a little easier for me to do as it shouldn’t involve standing.

The Fitness part of this month’s Challenge is going to take a bit of thinking on my part...but I’ll do my best! After all, even a little is better than none, right?

3. Personal:
Choose a personal (non-weight/non-fitness) goal you'd like to achieve this April.
1. Continue with my “Veggie Alphabet” and try at least 1 new vegetable a week.
2. Continue to pretend I don’t have a credit card and make zero purchases this month!
3. Get 1 room cleared and packed at my mom’s house per week to get it ready for sale. (This is going to be really hard! Some rooms are jam-packed with stuff and my sentimentality makes it hard to let go of things...so there may be a few times a room spills over into a scone week.) **I left the typo ‘cause it made me laugh a bit...I’m hungry and I think my subconscious is sending me a message here lol But what I meant to say is “a second week” )

4. Motivation:
Post somewhere in Spark at least 4 times a week.
This should be fairly easy to maintain.

5. Accountable:
Weigh in once a week and post all your goal results here.
I’ve changed my “Weekly Weigh-In Day” to Sunday to coincide with the 1st of the month.

~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~

Cherie - My sister‘s 21 years older than me and my brother’s 23 years older. When I say I’m the “baby of the family” I really am! lol Both my brother and sister got married the year I was born (my brother in January and my sister in April...which reminds me...I need to remember to send her an anniversary card...). Ironically, 25 years later, my brother’s daughter and I got married the same year (she chose June for her wedding while I chose August). It makes me wonder...if I would’ve had children, would her’s and mine have done the same thing? lol

~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter! I’m anticipating a quiet day with only hubby and I in attendance. (His family doesn’t have elaborate celebrations or meals and without my mom, neither does mine.) Just to be on the safe side, I popped a roaster of baby potatoes and ham in the oven just in case we get unexpected company (it’s better safe than sorry since it’s fairly common for members of my family to show up unannounced as a “surprise visit”).

=^_^=
