Jeanne: Oh so sorry! You are absolutely right dealing with addicts . . . only one choice, enabling or walking away. HARD to do but have had that in my extended family as well. Hard!

In love - Well I thought I was twice but it was just a loss of someone to fill the lonely space in my life. Then in life - When my brother passe at 29 - I was just 18. Then again when my father-in- law passed - again I was 18. Then when my mother passed 11 years ago when I was 36. My heart did not break for the passing of my other two brothers as I knew that it was only a matter of time - they were drug users and both passed of Hep C. I also was not close to them due to their lifestyles. When you deal with an addict there are really only two ways - you enable them or you turn your back on them.

Have had many heartbreaks, but probably the hardest to get over (and never really will get over, just cope and remember the good things) is when my brother died @ age 27.

Next was when my DS was deployed to Afghanistan. The third day out on patrol, 3 of his mates were killed by an IED. 3 days later, in the same place, my DS was wounded by an ambush and IED. It's been 4 yrs. since that happened, but it still makes my blood run cold. I just thank God that his life was spared, though he was quite injured. Proud of him. HE earned a Purple Heart.

Love is the root of all things good in life.

3 times: when my first husband had his first (of many) affairs and another event when I knew the marriage could not be saved, when my dad died, and when my brother died. My heart heals slowly.

How many times have you had a broken heart?
