For January my goal was 3813 steps per day. I averaged 6103 (good doggie!), 50% of my overage is 1145 so my new goal is 4,958 per day.
Since I've upped my workout schedule to include some time on the treadmill (at an incline or faster pace than dog walking), this shouldn't be too hard to achieve.

Hello Motorcycle Chicks!! How are things going - its been very quiet this month? I know.. its January and its so dark... here, thank goodness, not as cold as it normally is this time of year so walking at lunch has been great!!

How are we doing?? I know the increase in steps ... I personally am finding it difficult to get my new goal - but I am trying! I hope you are too!!!

Are you all still doing this?
For December my goal was 3000 steps per day. I averaged 4627, 50% of my overage is 813 so my new goal is 3,813 per day.
The overages in December were from shopping....lots of steps! but I do have a new dog to walk twice a day. We will see what happens!

MORNING!!! Brrr.. brrr.. its burry here - -8 this morning which is a warm spell after yesterday's -12.

So hard to want to go out on a day like that ... thank goodness for Jessica Smith :)

Good morning!! Wow - good for you!! @Mriley123.. that's awesome - I'm happy to hear that - I am getting my steps in, barely...

But we got a new tree... looks lovely... I am really happy with it. I will post a picture in a bit.

Its so cold here - I hate walking in the cold when your nose freezes and its crunchy to walk.. but because of this challenge - I have to try!!

Bummer about the Christmas tree! I wish I could send you ours. It is beautiful but takes up too much room and I'm getting rid of it after Christmas, if I can figure out how.

I've found this challenge has helped me get out there more. I've made $10 on myself! LOL. About to go for a walk now.

Morning!! Just checking to see how we are all doing... I have been crazy busy at work and not been able to get too much in... and feeling rather stressed... grrr. the fake Christmas tree broke yesterday... :( it wasn't the best week :)

I'm not going to reward for days I'm over because there are so many that I'm under! Maybe I'll do it at the end of the month if my average is over. I used to tally my fitness minutes and set aside (for vacation) 10-cents for every minute cardio and 1-cent for every rep of strength training. that worked really well for me!
Step total Dec 1-31: 143,448 - that's ave 4627 a day emoticon

December 1 - 7,011 steps (1,011 over) - $1
December 2 - 8,713 steps (2,713 over) - $3
December 3 - 12,549 steps (woo hoo!!) (6.549 over) - $7
December 4 - 8045 steps (2,045 over) - $2
December 5 - 8317 steps (2.318 over) - $2
December 6 - 6386 steps... not such a great day :(

I'm going to do it by miles instead of steps because I can't find my pedometer. My average is 2 miles (that's the dog walk route). Today I did 4 miles, so I put $2 into the jar for the 2 extra miles.

where do we put our goal? I haven't been doing a lot of exercise and sit down at work but based on my daily average since last Tuesday, I should be able to do over 2500 per day. I'll set my goal at 3000, so 21,000 per week.
Week1: 17,242 so far and one day to go

My goal for the December challenge - is 6,000 steps a day. I know I can do 5,000... and should probably do more - but that is my goal.

So I got to thinking - I think I am going to plan a motorcycle route in my head -someplace I love to ride to - I am going to attempt to 'ride' it this winter by counting my steps. When I get there.. I'm going to buy something new for my bike!!

Ok Motorcycle Chicks... Its time for a challenge!!

Instead of making miles on our motorcycles, how bout we make miles walking. You choose your weekly goal of steps that you want to do. We will start small - donít over estimate what you will do this first month - letís just get those steps in.

Once you reach your weekly goal - then for every 1,000 steps over that weekly goal, you put $1.00 into an envelope. Next year, when riding season starts there will be that poker run you will want to donate to - you can then take the money for your over achievement and use it towards that.

Next month - each of us will increase our steps by 50% of what our overages were on our weekly goal for December. If your goal is to walk 5,000 steps a day then your weekly goal is 35,000 steps. There are 4 full weeks in December - so your final goal should be 140,000 steps (or 66.287 miles.. WOW).

In January 2017 you would change your weekly goal to 7,500 steps per day or 52,500 per week (again, 4 full weeks in January - 210,000 steps or 99.5 miles).

We can do this Motorcycle Chicks!! I know we can!!!

Start practicing now - get your average now - December 1 it begins!!!!
