Today I brought in spaghetti squash (a great alternative to pasta ) basil, radishes ,two kinds of gourmet potatoes (Russian Blue and Prince Orange ) and pineapple sage ,more tomorrow.My goal is to get it all in before the snow flies.

Found this picture ..... says much about 'Clean Eating' ....... emoticon

Both DH and I began eating 'clean' even more the last few weeks. Both of us are feeling so much better and hubby who was raised on a ranch .........(big meat eaters) ..... is loving it and has dropped pounds coming under 200# ........(very close to ideal weight) ...... we eat lots of vegetable stir-fries ........ or soups (so cooked) ..........But always have a large hearty vegetable salad ..........generously topped with veggies! (so this meal is in-cooked) ........ Lots of Bean dishes too as they are a super food!!! ....

Yep....me too! So I buy lost of produce and eating lots of veggies fills me up...I also eat lean protein, lots of eggs are easy to prep and grab on the run....seeds are filling for snacks and "my" dessert might be a ripe peach. emoticon emoticon

Oops! I see your question now...a few days later... emoticon emoticon

At its simplest, clean eating is about eating whole foods, or "real" foods those that are un- or minimally processed, refined, and handled, making them as close to their natural form as possible.
It can be challenging these days to pull this off....so I try to simply do my emoticon within our family's budget....kind of with a "small goal" perspective. One food group at time....one meal at a time....then I am not overwhelmed thru trying to by everything organic, buying grass fed meat, and then end up growing my own garden. LOL! Some folks can do this and benefit greatly. I cannot do all of this. I make it my goal to eat the cleanest I possibly can. emoticon

September 1st.... Is a time to refresh, regroup, and never look back as we keep going forward blazing a trail through the oceans deep!

Both Captain 52 and I are continuing with our clean eating which has really been helping us both lose weight and feel so much better!..... I have increased my exercise and the intensity that have a big variety like a smorgasbord!... emoticon

I have one goal nearly finished .... To get each room in house and garage totally gone over and purged of anything no longer needed. .... It is so awesome! .... Even my closet is so tidy and organized and since I retired this last year, I took all my professional clothes to St. Vinnies ..... good stuff but I like casual now.

Next goal is I am taking classes for Tai Chi and Tai Cheng .........it is fabulous for many things but is alleviating neck pain a LOT .... and feeling much better! ......Have a great day everyone and keep on with those goals no matter how big or small!

I am so happy I did a lot of deep cleaning this week and got the house all clean and tidy so this morning I spent an extra 15 minutes with my exercise routine and am ready to go for the day!... Hubby and I have to take our little parakeet to the bird lady to get his wings clipped because he is flying all over the house!..... after that plan to have some fun and hope you do the same!.....::::: emoticon

Jan I wish I could share fresh veggies with you I am bringing in more Kale,kohlrabi,Swiss chard and tomatoes than I know what to do with I have been sharing them with all my friends and making pickles and freezing for winter and I see a trip to the food bank in my future (I have apple trees too !)

Started the day well and ended the week feeling great .... 25 min Tai Chi + 30 min water aerobics and lap swim ....;)
Am so happy that much neck pain and tension has been relieved from doing the Tai Chi for upper body strength! .... Such relief!

My goal today was to force myself to rest some more since I just got over a lung infection for the first time in 10 years without medical help!!! I met my goal. There is so much I want to do but I know I absolutely MUST rest for a few more days if I wish to spend time with the grands this weekend!

Almost rained out...still got 2 miles in this morning before the rain poured down...and instead of thinking...aww shucks! Only 2 miles...I felt great! I did what I could.

On my way to the Gym ... (already getting warm outside)
Plan to do, elliptical, treadmill, bicycle with resistance and ST with leg press.

And second goal ...... Menu plan:...... (keeps improving)
Cooked black beans in pressure cooker for Tacos for dinner. emoticon ....
Garnish with salsa, a dab of Guacomole ..... and cantaloupe and watermelon on the side.
